Anyway to save current overlays into one theme? - prjkt.io

Want to try out other themes via Substratum but also want to back up my currently enabled overlays as they're all from different themes.
Like a sort of backup.
Anyway I can do this? Thanks

Save the current profile then disable the ones you want to change.

Wait, So you can enable different overlays from different themes to work together? Like my settings icons, I like the ones in one theme, but the rest of the Jiang overlays, I like from the one I have now..
I can combine these?

Flipboard for Android (Dark Theme Mod)

Hi Guys
I was just wondering if anyone would be able to do a Dark Theme Mod of the Flipboard app?
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would like this if possible.
Here's hoping! And thanks as always.
Man I got so excited when I saw this, I thought you were announcing that you had done it. +1000001111eleventybillion to whoever can.

Well, it obviously looks like there is not a developer or themer that wants or needs this.
Maybe you all should work together to modify the app theme to a dark theme. It isn't that complicated. There is also the option of using a 3rd party launcher or 3rd party theme app to achieve this, some of these can even add the dark theme to everything on the device without needing to modify the apps themselves.

PlayStore, do a search for "dark theme" you'll probably see many options, try a few until you find one you like, don't be lazy.

I'm not, mate. What you talk about, in a so generic way, just doesn't exists. Period.

I went to Playstore and searched for:
"Dark theme"
These are the results:
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=Dark theme&c=apps
Some of the apps in those results can be used to dark theme other apps, even add dark theme to the whole device with the right setup of app/apps. Try a lot of them, dig deeply into the different ways they can be used, see if any work together to enable/disable dark theme where you want/don't want.
I did a simple Google search for:
"Apps to make all apps dark theme"
This is one of the first results I found:
https://www.davebennett.tech/dark-theme-any-app/
That is just one result, there are many others.
The point is, there are things already available to do what you want.
If that isn't enough, do a Google search for:
"How to use APKtool to modify apps"
Or
"How to theme android apps"
Use one/some of those guides to learn how to actually modify and repackage the apk file of whatever app that you want to add dark theme to.
To learn how to actually edit the apk to add dark theme, do a Google search for:
"How to edit apk file to add dark theme"
You can even change the icon for the app or even change the image files for the different "buttons" or the font in the app, you can even change the color/location of buttons and text in the app.
The point is, the stuff to do what you want already exists at various levels of difficulty. Find the difficulty level that you are comfortable with and figure it out by trial and error.
I think I've shown you some basic examples of how you can acieve your result for any/all apps, it's up to you to dig in and find your best option.

I'm looking for the exact same answer. I normally do some light reading after dinner. And the white background on my android does my head in. I just saw that ios users have it lucky with the invert colours option. Why the step motherly treatment for us android users?
You can enable invert color option from developer menu while using Flipboard
Am using that since many days as I found no other option

Mods for Stock, Rooted Phone

I am wondering if anyone knows what mods to use on stock rooted firmware to allow changing the battery icon and mod the clock for color, position etc. These are really the only changes I make to a phone after installing a custom rom. I also like the fact that custom roms have the bloatware removed. I can live with out using a custom rom if I can make the simple changes like. Thanks.

Well, for a more stock Android look, I use an app called "Goodlock" which themes the quick settings list.

Well, that's the problem. You must be an employee of Samsung to have that program. Which means that without a custom rom, it is not possible.

Ohhh ok gotcha!! Bit outta my knowledge.
Yeah i would like to do some design changes myself but don't know how to access the UI to make the changes.

Samsung only gives access for the theme software to themers and the application process is a bit finnicky and you require a portfolio for them to look through. Maybe a different texting program? i personally use textra. Chomp SMS also has some theming capabilities

I have 3 aqpk's, two are black and blue and one is black an red - notifications. I'm using one of them with Swift Dark and they don't interfere with the Substratum Theme.

No, you just install the apk and reboot. If you're not happy menu>settings>apps>uninstall>reboot and you're right back where you started.

Just download the apk you want, place it on your sdcard or internal storage. On your phone go to my files>sdcard or internal storage>tap the file and select install. It will say something like are you sure and you will take you to security>unknown sources> push that tab to the right and go on with the installation. When and if you want to uninstall go to menu>settings>apps>look for the apk you installed and then uninstall it.

Saw the non - rooted method. Wondering what the rooted method was? Searched and couldn't really find anything except rebuilding the theme. Which I think is the non rooted method.

Rooted method would be recompiling framework-res and push it back in system.
The colors.xml need to be changed.

*- notification_title_color = main notif text color
- notification_info_color = affects time & " X new messages" header
- notification_text_color = notif content color.
- notification_default_color = affects notif action buttons & non-accent app name & icon color

eNubiX is really nice, thank you!
I think I should try the red one but I am now sick of restarting my phone. I do agree that you should have provided screenshots.
Thanks again for sharing them!
I think I know why no one wanted to put up the screenshots. These APKs will darken your notifications, but does not actually change them. They are still all the black background with hard-to-read dark grey writing and teal accents. I was really hoping for notifications with a black background with white writing and red highlights.
What the APKs did do was change my settings area, but everything does that. I'm attaching the 3 screenshots so everyone can see.
I hope we get a true way to change the background, text and accent color on our notifications some day. It seems so simple it should be part of stock Android.
