Anyone encountered this
"Re-enter device pin" problem?
I tried to jump to a different rom and then it just freakin asked for a device pin that i didnt set up. Now i cant activate any lock pattern or fingerprint.
What phone? Can you get to download mode or unlock the bootloader (depending on the phone - if t's a Pixel 2 or 2XL can you get to the bootloader [and do you have an old USB to microUSB cable and a microUSB to Type C adapter)? I have an idea of what happened, but I could be way off - but let's see if we can get the phone working first.

Lost my H1X today and I have some "sensitive" info on it especially in the pictures department. I know on some phones when you plug in via usb it auto mounts even if you dont put in the password on the screen...I never paid attention to whether or not the One X does this. Anyone know for sure?
I don't have a screen PW set, but if I just plug the usb in while my phone is locked it does not auto mount. I have to unlock the screen and select USB storage instead of Charge only.
Well, half way. Anyone with a screen lock have to unlock before it'll mount?
i got a repairing shop and someone came to me with this phone (galaxy core sm-g361h/ds) and the problem is that he had a password and he rest his phone while FRP lock was on and he don't remember the email but when i try to flash it or bypass the google account confirmation i find out that my PC does not recognize the phone at all not even any sound of something plugged in but it shows that the phone is charging normally i changed the USB connector and the cable and also the laptop and the problem was not solver
i want to ask if there is any way to flash a stock rom or bypass FRP lock without using USB cable
and thanks for all guys
Hi,
Z5 suddenly decided to stop working.
Phone is PIN + Fingerprint Locked, Touchscreen is not working at all.
Here is what I have tried so far,
1. Attached a USB OTG Mouse, was not able to detect
2. Tried Multiple Reboots, even using the small yellow button besides the sim slot, but fingerprint unlock is not working as PIN is required on reboot, which I can't enter
3. Booted in Safe Mode using volume down key during boot, but still screen wont detect touch
4. Connected to PC, asks to unlock the phone, but cant as touch is dead
5. Removed screen guard
Phone is stock android (No rooting, nothing), has a memory card, removed the 2 SIM's
Phone is not dropped, not wet, not cracked

Solution Found & Worked
Switch off the phone, plug a USB OTG & Mouse Receiver, turn on the phone, you'll see a mouse pointer, that should get you somewhere.
Was able to unlock my phone, remove the passcode, will copy the data once I have it fully charged.
Great post - Thank you so much
after dropping my phone a few times, didn't realize its any longer waterproof, seawater damaged the screen and I'm unable to unlock it, it requires me to execute my pattern password to unlock it. I need to reset the phone to erase my data and sell it. Good thing I have an OTG somewhere to use. Thank you so much again!
works for me. i almost get frustrated with this phone. i lost hope in using otg since everytime i plug one i need to accept it in usb connectivity. i didnt know you can force it by booting the phone with the otg and mouse or keyboard already in it
SOLVED: S7 dropped > broken screen > how to recover images? Not rooted, not "usb mode"
So my wife dropped S7 to the floor and device ended up to be fully powered, but screen is now all black. Back and "software" button illuminates. I can change volume. I can take photos. So phone works, but screen is all black. Main concern is to have photos out from the phone. Contacts are synced, software etc. can be installed to new phone.
Kies finds the phone, but says that is' locked. Although phone does not have any passcodes or fingerprint, Kies cannot access to photos. Also the PC does see the device, but it won't allow me to see the contents. Find My Mobile is not activated, I think that I can't activate it now without phone. Also Smart Switch says that phone is locked. Phone settings are pretty much as out from the box. USB debugging is off, Developper options off, etc...
But I found that possible via ABD (?) I could access phone storage. Is it so? I sould start the phone to Recovery Mode / Download Mode? How to do that? Normally the phone is on and I can't switch it off. I can only soft reset is by keeping vol- + power buttons pressed for 10sec. But after that, phone just restarts to OS.
Please give hints how to proceed. What to try. New LCD is around 50USD and takes forever to get from Aliexpress/Ebay.
Why not use an external display? Hook it up to the USB-connector via an adaptor and it should work to unlock the phone using a PC-mouse.

Click to collapse
O, it has such feature? Quick googling did not help how to do it. How does it work? Do I need some cable or device?
Any ideas how to proceed? I either can reboot device to Recovery mode and use ADB or connect external display to the device. Or if someone has any better solution
Please help. Family photos are in the phone
Try to unlock your lock screen with a usb mouse connected via otg and swiping up with the mouse. Then connect it to the computer and try to backup your data with kies or switch.
Tried many thing how to allow the connection from another phone or computer. However it was not possible to connect, so I ordered a new screen. Once new screen installed, it was not even a challenge Ordered new screen from Aliexpress.
Hi - wondering if anyone out there can think of a solutions to this...
So, my wife cracked her phone screen (Huawai P20) and bought a cheap phone to use short term while we worked out a replacement (Alcatel 1). When setting up the temporary phone, not all of the data from her P20 was install/copied, mainly because there's not enough storage space to hold it all.
Some of the data left on the P20 is really important (downloaded documents/files and pevious whatsapp history), so I was going to hook it up to a PC and grab all the data from it, but the biggest problem is she can't remember the unlock pattern. I know developer mode/USB debugging is not turned on, so I can't even get a PC/ADB to recognise it, plus I've had to connect it to a mouse and monitor (via HDMI/USB adapter) to even view/control the unlock screen.
I'm pretty sure that without the pattern we have little or no options, but was wondering if anyone knew the answers to the following:
Is there any way to unlock the phone using the old PIN that was set (she's confident she knows this)?
Is there a way to unlock using the finger print sensor (even though is says 'pattern required due to restart')
Should ADB list it as a device even though USB debigging is turned off and the phone is screen locked (currently does not list it, but I thought you could PIN unlock via ADB)
Does anyone know any other tools/options for accessiing the files on the phone.
Thanks is advance for any help!
Basically you can access Android's filesystem in ADB-mode or in MTP-mode: the latter should always be possible.
Even if USB Debuging is turned off and the screen is locked? Any tips on how to get the PC to see the device in MTP mode?
Thanks!
My wifey has a Huawei Y7 with HiSuite installed on Windows PC and HDB enabled on phone. As soon as she connects PC with phone over USB, confirms the verification code, phone gets mounted on PC as external USB-drive and thus visible in MTP-mode.
My guess is you have to take your Huawei to authorized service center and let them try to fix it.
Ah Ok. HiSuite asks for USB Debugging to be enabled first, which i can't do because it's locked. Thanks for you help anayway.
