[HELP] Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 bricked - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I was going to flash the stock firmware to my tab from the resurrection remix rom, so i went to the recovery (for some reason there was the cyanogenmod recovery and not the TWRP) and wiped everything with the system too.
I downloaded the stock rom and went to download mode and connected to odin and nothing happens... My PC , that i always used with odin and this tablet, now doesn't recognize my tablet, nothing, no notification or sound when i connect to it. I thought it was the cable though it worked for charging so i bought a replacement today but didn't work too... tryed to a different pc too ...
Now I'm stuck with a bricked tablet because there is no OS, with a ****ty recovery (the cyanogenmod one) and no computers detect the device by USB...
Is there something that I can do to save this tablet?

You tried the different cable/port combos? Weird that Odin doesn't see tab.

try to install the last official lineage13 build. download it and put it on your SD.
if it works, install official twrp app from play store and replace cyanogen recovery with twrp.

I have put the rom on sd card and twrp too but there isn't an option to install it, i mean there is only adb sideload (that doesn't work because can't connect to pc) and apply update that looks only in /data/media path and it doesn't let me go to the sd card

Bro thank you very much for your help, at the end I tried buying a 3rd cable that worked it was a cable problem. At the beginning i bought a chinese 2€ aftermarket cable that probably only had connections for charging, later I bought a new cable from amazon that I got today and worked like a charm when i put in the computer )))))

Install the latest Samsung USB Drivers. And you should plug in the usb cable directly to pc and not on the USB extension. Try this link. They are compatible with I9003

Err disregard that, forgot you cant boot. You try odin on a different computer?
nope can't find it on my mac or pc or the other pc
You have another cable you can try to see if its the cable? Also will it atleast charge when you plug it in?
yepp it charge! and i have tested diffrent cabels!
Have you tried reflashing a rom or restoring a backup? Also what were you doing that made it not boot?
If it's stuck on 'the logo' then how is it bricked?
Reboot into recovery and flash something else.

Dude chill out your phone didn't brick if it did you wouldn't get to download mode hell it wouldn't be on at all. Just follow these guys advice and you will be fine. Oh and FYI your phone is stuck on a bootloop.
I would suspect the cable. I have tons of good quality Micro USB cables from phones past. ADB can Win7 can only see my S3 using the cable that came in the box. Others will charge it and view storage but not let me push stuff to it.

I had to call VZW for a replacement USB cable because I like to keep my nandroids on my computer for backup, and it would freeze or not work, so I broke out the HTC USB cable, and it worked great, so determined either the Samsung cables blow, or mine was bunk.
it would charge and do everything else just fine, just couldn't move media without it disconnecting
Can't i do enything with sd card? it's rooted and evrything!

[Q] Can we go back to stock ROM without using ODIN?

That is the stock one click. Don't confuse that with the One-Clicks in the second post, which are rooted oneclicks.
EDIT: don't forget to read the instructions like 200 times first. Make sure you totally understand what each step is and that you follow them.
Well, had I read the OP...

Heimdall will use the same methods as ODIN, just a different application.
Try a different usb cable. Try a different computer. try and track all permutations of combinations of cables and computers. Make sure you don't use FrontPanel usb connectors.
EDIT: to answer the question in the title of the OP, No. You cannot flash bootloaders without being in download mode, which you need to go back to "total stock" (say for a return).
Also you can try uninstalling the drivers and re-installing them..
I have had to do this before..
Sometimes the computer doesn't
want to recognize the device..
I don't know why but it happens.

This may be another case of broken usb connector on the phone itself. I've had to repair mine before and I recently sent back 2 phones that T-Mobile sent me as replacements both with broken usb connectors. The last thing to go is charging. Usually what happened to me was it won't talk to my computer or sometimes when I plugged it in to the charger when it was turned off it would randomly go into download mode.

[q] is there any hope left for my tab?

problem began after i factory reset the tab, my tab keeps rebooting everytime either when i connecting to a wifi network/turning off the wifi/going to settings. then it freezes, and shows the samsung logo indefinitely.
when i force reboot it no longer goes into the system but only to samsung logo. i had to factory reset everytime to get into welcome screen.
the tab also have a usb connection issue as it wont get detected by the pc
odin pro is available but kinda useless since it still have to download specific files the tab for it to work
my tab is currently running on 4.1.2 P6800DXMD3 with skyhigh 3.9.1 kernel.no custom recovery
hope my english is good enough
anybody here can help me?
1. Try wipe cache in recovery and flash stock kernel.
2. Try flash full official firmware package with Odin PC. You may need to factory reset again in recovery before first boot.
Best of luck

You didn't say (and haven't said) it wouldn't connect in Download Mode. I didn't assume.....
- Make sure you have both the latest Samsung USB and ADB drivers installed. Uninstall old ones, reboot, install new and reboot.
- Have you checked your USB cable is ok?
If you can't enter download mode, you could be hurting.
- If all you can do is enter stock recovery, and if you had USB debugging enabled, maybe it's possible to push to system and preload etc. with ADB.

im gonna assume usb debugging is disabled since i factory reset the tab. so the setting must have been reset as well? but then i cant to to settings then the tab would freeze.

thanks for suggestion but i already resolve the prob :victory:
mobile odin still havent download the specific files for the tab so most of its features doesnt work. it doesnt even read files for sd card (not sure why)
but luckily i was able to flash custom recovery (twrp recovery) through it. so i had to push the files in via bluetooth from my phone.
well once in recovery just do all the usual stuff to flash the rom. using pac man right now. really wanted to use stock but i scared the bug would come again.
mobile odin literally saved my tab

[Completed] Help! Seriously messed up ROM mod on Galaxy Tab 10.1

So I got this free Galaxy Tab 10.1, and tried adding a Custom ROM to help it run better, and be able to run some apps that the old android 3 os couldn't run. As of now, it has CWM v6.0.3.6 installed, as well as a KitKat ROM. This ROM seems to have been corrupted, and now the keyboard constantly stops working (receiving constant pop ups about it) and it no longer will connect to my PC via USB, although it still charges when it is plugged in.
I made a mistake when I was installing this ROM, and my backup stock ROM was never loaded onto the tablet.
My original thought was to use the install from sideload option to get a different ROM onto it, but it doesn't detect even in Recovery mode.
Odin does detect the device, so is there a way to use this utility to fix this problem? Or maybe some other option that I'm not thinking of?
Thanks for the help

Greetings and welcome o assist. If odin detects your device then kies emergency firmware recovery should work, that will return your tablet to its original state. The other option is to flash a different rom through recovery, just download it to your sd card and then flash it

I booted the device into download mode, where it is detected by Odin. Kies can tell that something is connected, but it just continuously tries to connect. The device does not have an sd card slot, so there is no way for me to add a different rom to it.
EDIT: Kies does not detect anything being connected at all if the device is booted normally.

Additional update:
By using the calculator app to copy paste numbers, I've gotten the device connected to my phone's hotspot, along with my laptop. Perhaps there is some way to force a file download over wifi? The device shows up in my network places on my laptop, but the folder is empty.

If you start kies and select emergency firmware recovery it will ask you to put your phone in download mode and connect it. Does kies recognise it then?
