Relocking Verizon Google Pixel (2016 Model) - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Okay so I have spent over 2 hours looking to see if anyone has asked this, but cannot find an answer.
I have a Verizon Google Pixel it was on 7.1 when I unlocked the bootloader with DePixel8.
I have to return it and was wondering how do I relock the bootloader? Also do I need to be back on Android 7.1?
I have since unlocked the updated to android 8.0 (or w.e. the current version of Android is out.) while bootloader is unlocked.
(I AM NOT ROOTED NOR HAVE I INSTALLED ANY TYPE OF CUSTOM RECOVERY ONLY APPS FROM PLAY STORE)
Now one last thing. If I relock will I need to use the DePixel8 method again and give the command fastboot oem lock?
Any help is appreciated. And sorry for being such a darn noob. Kinda new to this.
P.S. forgive me if this was asked somewhere and I couldn't find it,

You should be able to run the command in bootloader mode "fastboot flashing lock" and then toggle oem unlocking in settings off if it isnt already.

Are you sure that's a Google version? It should be pretty simple with that. It's the Verizon version that might require additional steps

Bootloader unlocked but OEM unlocking greyed out

First of all: Is it normal for my OEM unlocking to be greyed out with status "Bootloader already unlocked" on this device after unlocking the bootloader? On my pixel2xl the option is not greyed out even after unlocking the bootloader, so I'm confused.
More info: Trying to set up a Pixel 2 64GB unlocked version from google store, it came on 8.0 November update. I was able to unlock the bootloader, had trouble flashing to the latest February 8.1 straight from November 8.0, but was able to boot back into 8.0 and let it do the OTA to 8.1 February update successfully. I factory reset after updating to 8.1 February update and have been connected to wifi and have a sim card in while setting up (if that matters), and now the option for OEM unlocking is still greyed out with status "Bootloader already unlocked". Not that it really matters I guess since I want the bootloader to remain unlocked, but the fact that it's different on my 2 pixel devices makes me think I did something wrong somewhere or misconfigured something.

But what if I need to re-lock my bootloader? Don't I need this switch available?

Nope.
To lock the bootloader, connect via USB to a computer that has the SDK Platform Tools on it, and reboot to the bootloader.
Open a command prompt in your "platform tools" folder and type:
Code:
fastboot flashing lock
This will lock your bootloader and wipe the device. I believe this also sets the "get_unlock_ability" flag to 0 (which the OEM unlock switch corresponds to).
To explain this a little more simply:
There are three components in play here.
First, there is a firmware flag that determines whether the device can be unlocked at all: "ro.oem_unlock_supported". If this is set to 0, OEM Unlocking will be greyed out and unlocking is not possible.
Second, there is another firmware flag that determines whether the bootloader can be unlocked:
"get_unlock_ability". This corresponds to the OEM Unlocking switch - off is 0, on is 1. If the switch is on/flag is set to 1, the bootloader may be unlocked.
Third, there's the bootloader itself. If the "get_unlock_ability" flag is set to 0, the bootloader will refuse unlock commands. If the bootloader is already unlocked, it will override the flag.
Hope this helps and makes sense!

Trying to unlock bootloader, flash Twrp, and Root with Magisk and need help

I've been trying at this for a couple days now,no success but no brick either Every phone I've owned up to this one I've been able to root and flash recoveries and custom roms as I pleased but this phone been tricky for me so I need someone here maybe to tell me my next move... So I called TMobile and I got the rep to give me a permanent unlock for my phone and I checked the Tmobile unlock app and its says permanently unlocked ...So my question now is since I cant seem to get the adb to "fastboot oem unlock" to change the device state to unlocked in the bootloader without asking me for my unlock code ,how to I get this to work? Is the next step requesting the unlock code from Oneplus because I have all the info for the form for Oneplus but don't know how to find unlock code for the form.... Help me out guys ... Thanks

You now need to convert to Int. version, you can't "fastboot oem unlock" on T-Mo version without a stupid unlock token! Follow these instructions ===> https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/how-to-convert-tmobile-op7-to-t3935947
So I called TMobile and I got the rep to give me a permanent unlock for my phone and I checked the Tmobile unlock app and its says permanently unlocked
After this, you need to enable OEM unlock. See here.
Once you have enabled OEM Unlock under developer options, the fastboot oem unlock will work.

cyanogenmod maybe?

ok so I have got a moto g pure (XT2163DL) with a tracfone bootloader and ive accepted that I cant find anyway so far to get my unlockable bootloader unlocked. I have looked and tried everything I could find without using a paid service which is probably what I need to do or just get another phone but first I have one more idea but I just dont know if it is even still possible or not. Can I use the cyanogenmod installer on my phone and unlock my bootloader and then switch back and keep an unlocked bootloader? Im running android 12. My oem unlock switch is not greyed out and it is set to unlock and even though I have tried using fastboot oem unlock and it said it was successful , it wasnt really unlocked afterall. motorola site just says my bootloader cant be unlocked. Is this a viable option?
