Odin Failing to flash stock firmware - General Questions and Answers

Hey all,
Tried flashing back to stock firmware using my Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 using Odin but im getting this error relating to a pit file. I have googled it and downloaded a few pit files for the specific phone but its still not working.
I have flashed previous devices with this flash tool before with no issues usually just have to click AP and browse to the selected firmware click start and shes golden and it works no dramas. However with this device im having soo much bad luck. I have tried to pull my pit file using Miracle box however that doesnt work either, Ive also tried to pull it using ADB but I need ROOT and I dont have it on this device either. I have also tried to root with odin too and I get the same error. is there another program that I can use to pull my own pit file?
I have copied the Odin Log for a reference so hopefully someone can shed some light on this annoying issue cheers.

Droid Charge unroot ODIN

I recently rooted the Droid Charge using ODIN, no issues. I have a custom kernel and I decided to try a rom and it was awful. Anyways went back to my Backup through CWM, no issues. My phone is now lagging beyond belief. I can't do anything at all. I really want to unroot. I know how to use ODIN and have experience with it. All i need is the .tar file for the factory restore. If anyone has a download link or a place that has one that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Have you checked the development section? They have every file you could need with instructions.
Yea i have found one for the samsung pst but i need one for odin samsung pst wont work on my crappy computer.

There are other threads on this issue, and it pretty much means that your internal memory is somehow corrupted.
John, not sure of your experience level or what you are trying to accomplish with that particular flash but make sure you have the basics covered. Correct and uncorrupt files. Phone in download and put battery back in and use of PDA in Odin.

my experience is very little. i attempted to follow the post that gave step by step instructions on how to get a device back to stock. i thought i followed it perfectly. guess not... i purchased this device already rooted, and it wasn't working properly which was my reason for wanting to get it back...

I have read a few people were able to fix this by running Odin with pit file over and over till it worked also you could have used the cwm install zips to get back to stock those seem to have less issues

Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Attempted to follow the guide here on my old Infuse to breathe some life back into it, but I can't get it to work. Installed the drivers through Kies, Odin detects my phone in yellow. I follow the guide to the letter, but after flashing 'reset' in blue and getting the green 'pass' my phone simply doesn't reboot, nor can I boot it manually. I've removed the battery a few times and it doesn't change the situation. I can still boot into download mode with no issue and have tried flashing a few times, but I'm having no success booting the phone after Odin is done, nor can I get into recovery mode.

I never tried this flash before, but I do have a couple questions before proceeding...
Is your phone AT&T or Rogers?
Are you able to get back into download mode (that is, by method of device fully turned off, holding down both Volume Buttons and inserting the USB cable)?

AT&T, the model is I997. I can still get into download mode, but I can't boot normally, nor into recovery mode (by holding volume up + volume down + power button; Samsung logo never appears). I used the included version of Odin with both the UCLB3_Unbrick_1.1.zip and UCLB3_Unbrick_root_1.1.zip files on the linked thread (I tried both).

I always recommend this one for AT&T (could never try it myself, as I was a Rogers user), but you may have more luck with this (option A or D).

Tried this a few times and it keeps failing. It'll get about 1/3 of the way there and then my computer will make the 'device disconnected' noise and Odin will fail. I left it in download mode, plugged in, without attempting the download to see if it was an issue with my cable or port, and it didn't disconnect...it seems to only be happening when I attempt to flash the md5.

For some reason option D is taking an unreasonable amount of time to download (it's been over an hour now), so I had initially skipped it and tried options A and C, with the same results. I'll report back once I am actually able to get option D downloaded.
Same problem with every option. Progress reaches about halfway, then fails.

Ok... I Solved my problem finally... I spent almost 3 days in forums to find a solution... So i give you guys a summary what I do:
1) Find my phone's pit file according to model and storage capacity (Mine is G920F 32GB)
2)Then the trick is use ODIN V3.10.6 insist of V3.09... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
3)If you face with hidden.img problem, extract the rom's file and rename the file hidden.img to hidden.img.tar and flash it by ODIN (Put this file on AP)...
Wait for some minutes and there is where magic happens

What do I need to do with the pit file?
My device is also G920F 32GB.
The USB DEBUGGING is on.

I heard from someone that Stucking in Start Write NAND is because of pit file...
but forget about it.. try without pit file. download the lastest odin v 3.10
usually process fails when it try to flash hidden.img... if it happen for you, do the 3th step

Odin error: There is no PIT partition.

I gave the gf's kid an old S2 Skyrocket to use with CM9 I believe on it. Something went wrong and the kid couldn't boot it anymore. I took a look. Flashed it with an old Odin but tried something else, flashed it with a newer Odin and completely screwed it up now. It's been a couple months since I tried fixing it so what I can remember is I think i accidentally wiped Clockwork recovery somehow and then the PIT file. Tried using a newer ODID to flash and just kept getting errors. The only way I can get into download mode now is with that little USB device that boots it into download mode. Otherwise it just stalls at SAMSUNG logo.
So i tried messing with it again today. Using Odin 3.04 I tried flashing to stock firmware and just get this

Odin can be quite finicky. Keep trying and with different usb ports (the ones in the back of the pc if you're using a desktop) and cables. You shouldn't need a pit file. Do not have re-partition checked in Odin.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I've flashed a bunch of phones with Odin before no problem. But with this phone I really screwed with stuff. I'm usually good about being careful but not this time. I might have had repartitioned checked the one time. I can't remember. I think I screwed up the pit on the phone. Hence the no. Pit error. Never had that before.
Ill try the other USB ports thought. Can't use Kies emergency restore because it won't connect to the phone. I have all drivers installed. First time I'm baffled as to flashing a Samsung phone. I don't even need the phone but my OCD just wants it working again.

This is a post I made previously about a year ago. Yesterday I picked the phone back up and tried to figure things out again. A year ago I never really got anywhere. I have never flashed anything or used Odin.
This is how far I got yesterday and I am looking for some advice. I tried flashing a stock ROM via Odin because the guy who commented said I should try that. So yesterday I did.
This is the site I followed.
https://devs-lab.com/how-to-unbrick-...xy-note-5.html
I downloaded Odin3 v3.10.0. I then downloaded Samsung Keys to install the usb driver but it wouldn't even detect the phone. That didn't work so I went here to get the drivers installed.http://www.samsung.com/us/support/ow...y-note5-sprint
I then downloaded the stock Rom the website had on it that matched the Product name SM-n920P that comes up when the phone is in download mode.
http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyNote...T2BPC3_SPR.zip
After that finally downloaded I extracted the Rom to the desktop. I opened Odid clicked on AP like the website said and clicked Start. I then received a Nand Write Start error and nothing happens.
Here is a picture of what Odin looks like when I tried to do it.

Thank you for your help and if I sound like a moron I am sorry I am not very experience when it comes to this.
- When you add the tar.md5 file don't remove the .md5, it will verify the file integrity and may take a few minutes to do so.
- You must be in download mode to use Odin. When you attach the phone, one of the squares should light up telling you which com port is attached.
- You might be blocked from flashing older firmware, PC3 is rather old. Try a newer firmware. All firmwares are available in my repository:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/byye3kocz6nn4/Stock_Roms_Note_5
Files are zipped. Unzip and place the tar.md5 in AP.

I forgot to mention I did have the phone in download mode when I previously attempted to download that file on Odin.
I think I just added the file I didn't know the .md5 got removed. Should I add it a different way to make sure it isn't removed.
Which firmware in the repository should I use? They all look like the same thing to me. Except for the one at the end that says full wipe.
Should I just download one of the newer firmwares on that list and put the phone into download mode and give it another go? If so which file and how?
Again thank you for your help and I apologize if you have already told me something and I just didn't understand.
Don't mess with file extension.
They aren't listed chronologically but alphabetically, pd is newer than pc3 and so on. Try pd2 first maybe.
Alright thanks bro I appreciate all your help and understanding. I will try the 2nd one like you said. It says it will take 2 hours to download so I can use it on Odin and give it a try. I will post an update later crossing my fingers this works.

Alright so I tried Pl1 on Odin and I tried Pk1 but neither seemed to work here are the Odin scripts I got from them. I'm not sure what to try next, what do you think I should try?

try a different cable, try the cable in a different usb port or try it on another computer too if that doesn't work.
You could also try taking it to the sprint store and having them flash it for you. I think they might charge a fee for that, so ask first.

Alright I tried them all again with a new cord and a different port. When my cousin gave me the phone I don't think the contract was left in a good standing. Would providing them with the phone show up under his name and possibly make them not want to do it? Also any idea on how much they may charge if you had to guess? I'm really strapped for cash right now and am trying to fix this phone for my dad because his phone is messing up and we can't afford another phone. Do you think I should try to flash some different ones off the list you provided and give it a shot? I was hoping to fix it at home because I'm not sure what Sprint will say when I go up there. Here are the retries. Thanks again for all the help, sorry it keeps being such a hassle.

I don't know what Sprint charges, it used to be $35. They may not look at it if there is no active account for it anyway.
Maybe check with some local cell third party phone shops and ask what they would charge to flash the factory image back to the phone.
I suggest you to change usb cable, reinstall drivers on pc, use a different usb port, if still same try on a different computer. It looks like phone isn't in download mode in logs from odin

I think it's been in download mode it says downloading and do not turn off target. Do you think maybe I have a bad version of Odin or installed the wrong drivers. Do these drivers look correct for this phone?
I downloaded the drivers here because the phone wouldn't pick up on Keis or smartswitch to do it.

Yes version ver. 1.5.45.00 looks fine.
Uninstall kies & smartswitch if they are installed and also the Samsung driver suite. Reboot and just install the drivers alone. They may be conflicting.
Don't forget to change usb port from pc that you are using now with another one and see if any changes

Ok I finally got it guys. I tried it ob my other computer and everything worked like a charm! The note is working great and lets me into it. Thank you so much for all you're help. I couldn't of done it alone. I just have one more question now. My dad is on AT&T is there a way I can unlock the phone to use the Sprint Note 5 on AT&T for my dad? I have the old sim card that my cousin left in it. It is a AT&T card for some reason not sure why. I thought about calling Sprint and asking them to do it but I don't have an account with them. Any more suggestions on what should do now to get the phone to work for my Dad on AT&T?:fingers-crossed:
Here is the script of the phone from Odin on my laptop.

Dang I just tried to open the phone and it still has a Finger Print Lock. How can I get rid of this and gain access to the phone?

There's a tool for that but it is difficult to use.
You should verify the phone has a clean esn, you can google that.
You wont be able to activate the phone on any U.S. carrier if the meid has been blacklisted anyway.

I got into the phone last night the FRP was already off. I guess when my cousin had it a year ago it had been turned off. So I hard reset the phone and it worked. Right now all you can do is use it on wifi. I'm gonna get the ESN checked and make sure it is clean then hopefully I can take it to Sprint and they will unlock it so I can use it at attached.
