It's not as fugly as the $100+ 4500mAh Mugen extended battery. I don't think it's possible to design a pretty extended battery.
I don't mind the extra bulkiness for extra power.
I received the battery in the mail at 50% charged. I drained it with heavy use (no screen dimming, stream videos/pandora on 4g) which took 7 hours. I can't wait to use it on a full charge.
I've never been on a phone that lasted so long on 1%. (in fact, it's been on 1% for the past 25 mins with the screen off.
The battery cover fits really well on the phone. I was afraid it wasn't going to fit because I read on a forum that the p900 is slightly larger than the p999.This extended battery was sold advertised for the p900.
This is not true. There is no physical difference between p900 and p999. The cover fits perfectly.

Just search "optimus 2x extended battery" into ebay.
not sure why you are trying to go below 1%, you don't want to completely drain a lithium battery.
Well actually the Mugen 4500mah extended cover is a nice, smooth, consistent shape,and looks dam sexy in person, unlike that hideous weird double box looking cover with four dots at the corners. lol
Also, with the Mugen 4500mah battery, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour with wifi or 4G on surfing the web watching flash videos for it to drop from 100% to 99%. Just 1% loss with heavy usage for about an hour.
Although I'd like to hear more of your observations on this 3500 mah battery. I'd be willing to pick one up at that price just to take advantage of it, if it's not a bogus product.
Anyway these extended batteries are just the remedy our modern generation of cellphones need. Once you use one especially the 4500mah, you'll never want to go back to that tiny stock one...

So it's been awhile since any updates on this battery. It has to be bogus. I don't know how they can manufacture a 3500 mah lithium battery and it's cover for that cheap without it being a scam
I would love to have an extended battery but not at the cost of doubling the thickness of the phone...otherwise I'd have a clamshell Motorola again lol

Think about what you're saying. You rather have a pocket pc that doesn't have the capacity to be away from an electric outlet just so you can look "cool"? It's like wearing a broken Rolex watch just to look suave. That's pretty illogical. Seriously, you might as well go back to dumb phones, because I tell you the truth, the stock battery is not sufficient to make the phone a viable gadget with all it's advanced features.
You need the extra capacity of an extended battery, to be able to fully realize the potential of the G2x and the apps that you can find in the market.
With the 4500mah battery I have from Mugen, I use my phone as a personal trainer, a flash light, a camera and video recorder, a audio diary, a gaming machine, a internet browser and movie player, a tv remote control, a radio, police scanner, etc. without worrying what app I want the phone to be and use it the whole day as anyone of the gadgets a mentioned above without having to constantly think about plugging in and recharging it.
Also it can't be good plugging in the rechargers micro usb often, since it wears and tears. Having constantly plugged and unplugged when I was using stock battery, my charger connection now wiggles and is loose just because I had to constantly charge. Once that breaks good luck on trying to replace it.

Well, my 3500mA batt and cover arrived today.
My original cover broke where it said 8MPx. **** that.
Turns out this battery is awesome - from what I see within 6 hour use.
I got it charged and being trying to discharge it with heaviest load.
Running, browser over WiFi, playing music, benchmarking and etc.
Compared to my OEM 1500mA batt this 3500mA is a BEAST!
The cover also fitted fine, but it looks kinda cheap (but what would you expect for $10 delivered)
I would really recomend it to anybody!

Well unlike most others here, I don't use my phone so heavily that I'm always worried about it dropping to zero. I make phone calls, text, and browse the web and Facebook here and there. I don't play any games or anything like that. My main battery drain seems to be widgets and texting at this point.
I guess it all depends, but the repeated recharging will loosen the plug gap and that's a very valid point. I will probably get the 3500 or 4500 or whatever it is and try it out either way.
During a normal day, I wouldn't need something this big but for those times I want to hang on the beach all day, this is perfect! I had one for me G1 and that thing lasted all day with extremely heavy use.

I spent days, even months trying to make my battery last longer and looking for portable chargers to carry around with me just incase I needed it.
I then realised I should just buy another battery, I have no idea why I had never thought of this before.
So a few months ago I purchased a refurbished genuine battery from eBay for only £4. The only problem now was the trouble of keeping one battery charged while using another. I then found a desktop charger which can charge the battery without the phone (link below)

It will automatically stop charging the battery when full, but will still consume alot of electricity if left plugged in.
I've been using this method for about 6 months now with no problems whatsoever.
Now whenever my battery goes dead whilst I'm out, I just simple switch batteries and I have full charge again. It takes 2 minutes to swap batteries, no trouble at all, and a battery isn't too big to carry around, I keep mine in my back pocket or in my wallet.

They want to be able to charge the phone when it needs to be charged, but they don't want to look at the percentage every five minutes and fear that the battery will be dead after a day.
Thus they want a battery with more juice.
A lot of people have skins for their phones to protect it and keep the resell value high. Those people might even consider to buy a powerskin which would give them an extra 1500mAh (at a price of course, but that's price vs. convenience).
Others know how to preserve their preciously mAhs.
Normally the phone should drain your battery by 1% to 1.5% every hour. That means it can run in standby and wait for calls and texts for up to 4 days.
Since you normally use the phone at least a bit, you should be able to keep it running on one charge for two days.
The last resort is to keep multiple batteries.
It can happen that you forget the spare. It can happen that you forget to charge the spare. It can happen that it's just not possible to swap batteries because you are standing outside in the dark.
There are just so many points why you would want to try and extend your phones live before you carry around a spare.

I prefer to carry a spare. Takes only a couple of hours to charge, and I always put it in my wallet straight after its charged. It's the cheapest option and imo its the best option. Better than a big bulky cover with a battery inside it that also costs a bomb.

I bought mugen power 1500 mAh. It's better, but still not for all day heavy use...
So i order htc Evo 3d with 3600 extended mugen power battery with spare cover.
The external charger thing is awesome. I always have a fresh battery available. Super cheap too. I have 4 batteries, enough to leave one at work, in the car, and at home.

It does seem the easiest and the cheapest option. I tried larger batteries and portable chargers, but none of them would make the battery last as long as I needed it to.
But now having a spare battery with a desktop charger is the best option for me, it cost me less than £10 for the genuine battery and desktop charger, and all I have to do when my battery is dying, is simply replace the battery. Less than 2 minutes later I have full charge. It's not hard, and it's not expensive, I just don't understand why people chose very expensive, and less effective options when this seems the most effective as it's twice as much juice, and it's the cheapest option too, extremely cheap.
The only downside is if you forget to take the spare battery out with you, but I got used to putting it in my wallet or my jeans pocket straight after it has charged. Some people say it's a stupid option because you may forget to take it out with you, but I could argue saying people with portable chargers could forget to take them out with them too. The way I see it is, you get so used to not forgetting to take your phone out with you, everyone checks to make sure they have their phone with them before they go out, and after a week or 2 you finally get used to taking the battery out too. When I first got the spare battery I did sometimes forget to take it out with me, but after a week I got use to checking I had the battery with me, as well as the phone.

I bought a portable charger for £24 from Amazon, and it's proved really handy for me. It's a 7000mah Tecknet and can charge two devices at once as comes with loads of adapters. Although the spare battery is a good solution it's only a solution for that one device. A portable charger will also charge your back up or 2nd phone, mp3 player, and any other phone you buy in the future. It is as big as the phone so it's easily pocketable. I've considered carrying it in my boxers just to see the look on peoples faces when I unzip my jeans and plug my phone into my crotch. I've also been meaning to test exactly how many charges it does but it's at least 3.

Yes, they are brilliant, I must admit. But spare battery is good for cheaper option. I did buy one of those portable chargers but it stopped working within 2 weeks so I didn't bother with another.

I've got a NewTrent 5000mAh power pack, and it's good for - about - 3 charges. Not easy to be precise about that, since no accumulator maintains and returns 100% of its capacity, but 5000mAh is more than enough.
I use it for mountainbiking when I want to record a track and also communicate my position for 4-7 hours, without having to stop, lose a few minutes and change batteries.
Different solutions will be valid for different needs, but this is easy to charge and easy to use.
And it cost me about €20 off Amazon, which is a lot less than an OEM/Mugen battery.

The only battery that will increase capacity is the Mugen 1500mAh battery. There are a couple of threads already in this forum on this battery.
All the ebay batteries offering the world are, let's say, misleading the consumers.
The Mugen battery are less reliable, also even if its 1500mAh, it may discharge much quicker than our original battery.

ok guys i really need your help/opinions. my mytouch4gslide has recently been overheating while just casualy using it (facebook,twiitter,minor games,etc). and 2 days ago it started having horrible battery life it goes down 1 or 2 percent every minute or two. and also ive been trying alot of diffrent roms and im still trying each one out again but the problem is still there.before i was with tmobile i had an optimus v for virginmobile and the battery lasted much longer and it wouldnt overheat like this. im really tempted to send this to htc and get it fixed?replaced but i really cant wait two weeks without a phone. so guys tell me if this has ever happened to you or what i should do, i wish i still have the tmobile asurion insurence but i thought it was useless and canceled it last month, what shoudl i do?
o and i bought this piece of crap from tmobile for 500 dollers no sh!t and im still paying for it so i would really like it for it to get fixed

Did you get insurance with your plan? Not sure if it covers the battery - but it did come with it, so I don't see why not.
Maybe take it in-store and see if you can get a manager or someone who could swap your battery out? Not sure if it works like that.
I'd be leaning towards the battery being shot, or on it's way there.
If it's overheating a lot, then it's just damaging the battery further - but it's also a sign of damage to the battery itself. Some of the cells are burnt out or malfunctioning and preventing/blocking/impeding or somehow just jamming up the electricity transfer in and out of the battery.
If you do an insurance claim, (if you got it with your plan) they ship you a new phone and when it comes in, you send your old one back. Think you have like 7 days to decide if you want the new one or keep the old one.
That would at least give you two batteries to test back and forth and see if it really is a battery problem (but that's the most likely answer)
You might consider getting an aftermarket battery?
On my second phone I swap out between the two HTC batteries I have, and in my plan phone I have the Anker battery I got. The Anker never gets as hot as the stock battery (either one) for the same workload, and I can push the device with the Anker to do much, much more then the one with the stock battery.

I did do an HTC warranty repair on my second device, and I had to ship it back, they fixed, and sent it back to me. Didn't take that long, less then 13 days (probably by a few days) I could look up my records and find out exactly how many days I didn't have it including my shipping to them - but once they had it, it was speedy service.
The HTC people were an absolute pleasure to deal with on the phone, extremely helpful and taking the time to patiently answer all of my questions or look up accurate answers if need be (and they had to a few times, but you could imagine the grilling of questions I gave an HTC rep since I was on the line with them already)
Definitely seperated themselves from the vast majority of companies i've dealt with for customer service issues (beyond phones into other stuff too)
So past making some awesome tech the people behind it have been fantastic in my experience.
(even if they do make a ****ty battery they should be ashamed of - phone company, not a battery company, but the quality of the battery is way out of spec for the device it's in )

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I have a feeling that people are going to start following you who have been using the stock battery for as long as you have.
It generates too much heat, is too inefficient, and that makes it break down faster and die quicker. The more it dies, the less efficient it gets, and the quicker it reaches the end of it's service life.
If I were in your shoes, i'd call the battery shot and start worrying about what that amount of heat is doing to the device itself, specifically its Snapdragon processor. Heat is enemy numbers 1, 2 and 3 for the processor, especially one pushing the limits of it's design like the Snapdragon does.
If you are running an OC kernel, i'd stop that immediately. Hopefully you aren't or haven't been.

I'd say go to a T-Mo store and start there, do an HTC direct warranty replace as a last resort and consider an aftermarket battery.
The Mugen batteries are unquestionably higher quality then the Anker batteries, but much pricier too.
The Anker battery is far and away better then the garbage stock battery - so even that would be a step up and it's what I run and like using.
(when I can afford to i'm gonna step up to the Mugen battery and gift the Anker to my second phone)
If I were you i'd overnight an Anker battery and stop in a T-Mo store tomorrow to see what your options were and how they were going to make it right for you.
Worst case is an HTC warranty, it's still in the warranty period, the phone hasn't been out for a year yet. I know that's the least desirable option, but if you do have to go that route make sure to mention how the heat has probably damaged the phone itself and they should have a tech or two go over the whole thing with a fine tooth comb. That heat against the processor has really shortened the lifespan of your device.
I say this because sometimes I put down my second phone and turn it off to save it from the heat of a functioning stock battery - a broken one would be a lot more of a concern.
Wish I could say something more positive, but while you are in warranty and have options is not the time to ignore issues that could bite you later.

Especially since this is clearly not your fault - you are using the battery provided to you with the device itself, and that is now malfunctioning. You didn't do anything to cause this, it's either dumb luck with an even worse battery then normal that HTC themselves provided you, or you are the first of more who are hitting the end of service life on the battery the device came with.
It sucks that the worse it gets, the more quickly the problem gets worse. It's a vicious cycle that there is no way out of, because just using the battery breaks it more.
Even if you have to be without a phone for a week because you have to ship it back to HTC (worst case scenario from your point of view, since you have no device in the meantime) they'll make it right for you. This device is too awesome, and costs too much money, to settle for something that's defective - especially since it's not something you did, just the way it came.
Let's just hope for everyone's sake you got a particularly bad battery and this doesn't turn into an epidemic. Because the overheating of the battery basically breaks it more and more quickly, this is about the right amount of time for them to start crapping out if you got it within the first month of launch.
(based on the ludicrous - yet identical - amount of heat i've been experiencing from two stock batteries is where i'm framing this fear from)

Sorry, noticed you said you cancelled insurance, i'm pretty tired, but i'll leave what I said in case it helps someone - I wouldn't hesitate to call up HTC and file a manufacturers warranty claim, it should be covered since it's their branded battery that failed. I definitely give them a very high rating for customer service from my experience - I have nothing but good things to say about them to anyone who will listen.
The anker battery definitely will cool down your device. It seems like our stock battery takes a sh*t after about 3 months... Once I got the anker battery I loved the phone so much more, I recommended it to all my friends with sensations/mt4gs phones.
My one friend ended up getting himself 3 ankers, so he always keeps one on the wall charger, one in the phone, and one fully charged in his pocket. He doesn't even plug the phone into the wall anymore. If you do something like him, your phone will also avoid the heat involved with charging via usb

Well, you trade wear and tear of one part for wear and tear on another. The wear and tear on the USB jack is much, much worse then the wear and tear on the battery contacts.
The USB jack will wear out long before the battery contacts wear down.
The other part of it is every time you open the back of the device you expose the internals to dust and environmental contaminants.
I'd say as long as it's clean, not dusty or anything when you make the switch, that's the better way to go - as long as they are the same battery (which is what you said your friend had ... all good there)
The big thing would be to not make the switch outside. Try to do it indoors, in still air.
The most dust-free room of any house is most likely the bathroom. Limited to no carpeting and usually much less air space for things to be floating around in, close the window and give it ten minutes to settle first and that's probably the best location to do it. Especially if it's real tile, that's the absolute least opportunity for all the dust and fine particulates on the floor in the rest of the house to be present.
So your friends mode of operation (if when changing the battery conscious of dust and fine particle contamination) is probably the best method to stay charged and put the least wear on the device - except maybe an induction charging backplate.
The only problem with the induction charger is finding a case you can work on it with. I don't have one, but if it's the same size as the standard phone dimensions, then you could use the trident case and not scratch the device up taking it off an on (the trident case is mostly soft plastic and rubber, not hard and sharp plastic)
The downfall to the induction charger is you need a charge plate every where you go, so once you factor that liability in, what your friend is doing with 3 Ankers is probably the best method to keep the phone charged while doing as little damage to it through normal wear and tear possible.
Score a point for creativity and efficiency. I might change my mind about the Mugen and just get a few more Ankers to duplicate the method, after thinking about it. If there's a better way, why do anything else? That seems like it'd be worth buying the extra batteries for, i'll just pay attention and snipe some on sale.
Thanks for sharing, that's a happy tidbit of info and i'm definitely going to work towards implementing it. I want this device to last me as long as I can make it, and any way of taking better care of it or doing something like the battery swap method that just makes way more sense is always welcome to hear about.

(I wish I could charge the stock batteries out of the device, I could copy a shorter version of that method with my two stock batteries - oh well.)
Anyways, when I did, I noticed something. Each came with one of my devices, and they are both the same battery, but they are backwards. It looks like it was deliberate, too, because all the markings are correct for + / - and whatnot.
Don't know what to make of it, so I figured i'd share just to get the info out there in case it's of use to anyone - (for what, I have no idea) - but they both suck equally, so there's no benefit of less heat for one or the other, and they both last about the same amount of time near as I can tell without actually measuring.
Doesn't seem like one lasts longer then the other, and i'm pretty sensitive to that kind of stuff. If people are curious i'll measure them a couple of times each and see for sure, if not I won't waste my time when there's other work to do.
Anyways, I snapped some pictures of it to illustrate what I mean, since describing it would end up being confusing for some and i'm half delerious as it is.
They are both the same:
- brand = (HTC)
- model = (BG58100)
- Rating = (3.7VDC)
- Capacity = (1520 mAh)
- Watt Hours = (5.62Whr)
Different serial numbers, and Different part numbers.
The one that shows the writing/bar code side up when installed in the device is:
- part number 35H00150-00m
The one that shows the blank side up when installed in the device is:
- part number 35H00153-00m
Does anyone out there have any other part numbers for the stock batteries? I wonder how many versions there are and if there are any differences between them.
Two of my friends got this device after seeing all the cool stuff I could do with it and being less then impressed with the devices the rest of our/their friends had - they needed a hardware keyboard too so obviously this was the answer.
I will check their stock batteries and see what they are, if it's anything different i'll post that too - might take a few days or so to get ahold of them and find out.

I have some nylon camera cases i've been using to carry around the doubleshots, and they have pockets that I slip things like memory cards, cables and the stock batteries in (whichever one isn't being used).
Appreciate the heads up, but I got the cases to keep the doubleshot behind a zipper to keep dust out, and when the accessories are in the zipper pockets they are protected enough. There isn't a lot of fog where I live, only rarely and otherwise the ambient moisture is not very high so it's not a big deal.
If I didn't have the cases, though, i'd definitely be using something like that. There were a couple of times I carried the doubleshot itself around in a ziplock bag back in august, if it was raining or going to rain that's how it left my house in my pocket. That's what prompted me to get the nylon cases - and though they aren't waterproof or anything, it's enough to not have to worry about it.
If i'm going to be in the rain then that's what I do - i'll have to come up with something better before it hits the rainy season around here - this time of year it doesn't rain often.

My phone's battery doesn't actually heat up but the area around the simcard. I'm running Pyroice with the extreme UV kernel and underclocked the CPU to 810mhz Max with setcpu 2.1.1a but it still warms up around the simcard area. I also never get anything better than 12hrs battery life.
Should I be worried?

I have had this same problem from day one. Even with the anker battery, and on every rom I have tried. I sometimes use flat icepacks to cool it down when it gets too hot. I haven't found anything fix.

I use my Mugen as my regular battery and my two Ankers as spares. I only have the OEM battery in case I need to send it to T-Mobile.
So I got the model numbers from both stock batteries that my friends have for their phones. Both are the same.
- part number 35H00153-00m
...and that matches one of the ones I have from above.
Anyone else have any other model numbers on their stock batteries that are different?
It would be nice to know what's out there and if a particular model seems to do better then another.

I run both stock batteries in one phone, and the anker in the other. Very rarely does the anker device get hot enough that I take notice and pay attention to it, but it does happen.
The one swapping out stock batteries back and forth can trigger a battery switch if it has been two days and I haven't swapped, or it gets too hot.
If it gets too hot I turn it off, let it cool down and then turn it on with the other battery. I try to keep the one not in use as full as viable, but never less then about halfway for more then a short while.
Enough people have shown a serious reduction in heat of the device by using an aftermarket battery that we've concluded pretty solidly that the stock battery is responsible for a large portion of the excessive heat.
Heat is the number one enemy of these kinds of batteries and microprocessors. If it starts to get hot enough to be uncomfortable in your hands, then you should start thinking about letting it cool down before running it so hard.
It happens more frequently then i'd like with the device running stock batteries, but I always make the decision that whatever i'm doing isn't worth aging the device and reducing it's service life just because I couldn't stop using it for a few minutes to let it cool off. The money I spent on it means more the longer it's in service, abusing it unnecessarily is wasteful to me.
I'm pretty particular about things like that, just my way. Your mileage may vary.

i was wondering if there's a chance that the heat issue is something HTC addressed in the last OTA update? definitely hard to say, but possible i suppose. perhaps i can try using the stock battery on the newest stock ROM and see if it heats up.
I doubt it's a matter of software or we wouldn't see much if any change when swapping to a different battery like the mugen or anker.
Any theory is valid until disproven though, and you never know unless you try so let us know how it turns out.

I had an S3 and then a HTC Thunderbolt before that, both with removable batteries.
Removable batteries have been a huge pro for me, I am often very hard on battery using bluetooth and playing media for 12 hours at a time away from charger.
Really other than being a little tall the battery is what is keeping me away from the M8.
What options does a guy have to combat a non replaceable battery? I know the little pocket power cells have come a long way, and I currently always carry a spare battery now so maybe that is a lateral change. Are there some of those that charge very fast?
I tend to keep phones running a LONG time and pass them down to wife/kids and removable battery has always been a big pro to that.

an external battery like you mentioned or a battery case. if you're worried about wearing out the battery, im sure you can replace it manually after 2-3 years by opening up the phone (there's teardowns posted already). I can't speak on either battery option though bc i have a charger at my desk.

The M8 got a very poor repair-ability score from ifixit so a battery swap won't be a simple choice. Thus my being a bit cautious.

Probably no options are needed. I used to carry a spare battery (or two!) for my T-Bolt but found I could live with the S3 and S4 batteries by keeping a spare battery on a charger and swapping batteries around 6 PM each day.
I was VERY nervous about going to the M8 with the non-removable battery but it lasts and lasts and lasts....... I take it off the charger at 7 AM when I get up and have more than 50% when I go to bed, usually around midnight.
I have a car charger, never needed to use it, I have a USB cord plugged into my PC so I can charge while I'm typing this, never do though, it's not needed.
I can't speak to battery life 3 years down the road when cell phone batteries start losing life but in 3 years I suspect this phone will be as obsolete as a rotary dial phone is now and I'll be looking for the latest gee-whiz phone that is cosmic ray powered or ????

FWIW, rooted, TWRP recovery, running BoneStock ROM (thanks, AndyBones!) with power saver turned OFF!

When Samsung and VZW locked down the S4 (and later the S3) I knew I wouldn't be buying another Samsung phone, us flashaholics GOTTA FLASH!
I was in the same boat as you. I almost went with an S5 because of the non-removable battery. Not being able to remove the battery is a stupid, and lazy, design idea. I watched a few videos about the battery and went for it. I have to say its at least 50% better than my TBolt. At the end of the day my TBolt usually was at about 30-45%. Now with the same exact usage patterns the M8 ends at 98%. Yeah I seem to only use 2% over an 8 hour work day. I use it on breaks of course. I plan on buying one of those portable batteries for emergency charging and I've got at least 3 chargers in various places. I used my phone at a family event for about an hour and a half. I watched 3-4 youtube videos ranging from 10-20 minutes each at max quality and did some web browsing and that brought it to 75%. Tethering with the WiFi Router app can suck it down pretty fast though. All in all Im happy with how well the battery holds up. Im sure someone will sell a better battery you can replace down the road with a little disassembly.
Concerns about a non-removable battery are overblown now days. If you're going to carry around extra batteries, you can just as easily carry around an auxiliary battery. The smaller ones are the size of a lipstick and are rated around 3000 mah, enough to double the capacity of nearly any device currently on the market. If that's not enough for you they go all the way up to 12000 before they start getting too large to carry around. By the time the battery actually needs replacing, you will likely have moved on to another phone.

how do you expect a 90% metal phone to have a removable battery? i don't see this as possible. you're gonna get tabs that break off very easily or something else that fails bc you want to take your battery out easily.
Alright. Just like what happens with many smartphones, third party sources have started releasing batteries with a little more juice than the Original LG Batteries of 2800mAh. I have to admit it, i was kind of counting on it because it happens a lot of time. But how reliable could they be? Would NFC work with them? Will it make our phone explode? From 2800mAh to 3250mAh is 450 more juice to drain. Has someone tested it? I've posted the link and a couple of pictures.

I just recieved two of them from Ebay. Charged one in the charging cradle, took a little longer than the stock battery. Installed it in the phone last night and will report on my findings. Everything seems fine so far.

Can you please also try the NFC feature if you have another phone with NFC capability? And also, whether the SOT improves or if it remains the same. and finally, in comparison to the other battery, how long does the phone last , based on your average usage (say: wifi on/off, usual brightness or auto brightness, etc. ) Let us know. Thanks

I have the G4 and I'm sure you can find one for just 1 pcs
Here's one from brand TQTHL which I would trust as I have 2 for my G4 and both work great

I have tested for two day and although I haven't gotten any numbers to prove it...the battery works great. It does last longer with the same usage...but I wouldn't say that the difference is huge but it does have a little more endurance. I'd say that if you are looking for an extra battery...this is not a bad choice especially just to keep as a spare. Everything works fine as well.
Also...it may take a few cycles to get the battery calibrated...my first discharge I was disappointed because it dad extremely fast but after letting it run down and charging it a few times it seems to last a little longer than stock. I'll leave the battery in for a while and if I get time to collect screen on before I charge it I will.

I think one would see a real difference if it had 900mah ane up more than usual. I was kind of expecting for that though. Hahaha. But i have the feeling they will release an eveb bigger one. Something like 4000mAh+ but you have provided us with great detail. Thank you. If you have the SOT in the future feel free to provide if

Actually Zerolemon emailed me and said they are working on a battery for the G5 as we speak. They can be miracle workers lol

They managed to do that by replacing the back cover with their own "case", including an extra-size cell. The G5's different battery removal mechanics make it a lot less viable option, especially adding the bottom module (which houses not just the USB connector, but speakers, microphone, and some antennas) as a cost.
My original comment was directed at the allegedly 3200/3250mAh cells popping up for 5-10$ a piece. There's a reason why official LG cells are 25$, and these after-market ones cost less than half of that. Sure, LG needs to cover the development costs, but I'm pretty sure the after-market ones are so cheap mainly because of corner cutting. And that comes with extended hazard. But if you feel like ruining your 600$+ phone because you went cheap and paid 10$ instead of 25$ for a battery... It's your call.

They could create a module similar to the Cam+ that has an 'extra' battery in it. Maybe slimmer but further up the case.

I have been following the forum site for lg g5 modules development and untill now no one has has stepped up with the idea (no one that would have the knowledge to start building a module for the g5 at least)

The TLDR: Actual mAh was was tested reliably (external discharge, outside of the phone) and batteries with the same label style as the two linked in the OP actually had roughly 30% and 50% of their stated capacity, and much less than stock.
I've got a G5 coming this week. I wouldn't be against doing another thread like the one I did in 2012 on the Sensation, if there's demand.

The mixed reviews are in part my fault. I'm one of the reviewers with that battery and for some reason Amazon will not post my updated review, I've tried 3 different occasions to post follow ups but they won't post.
What I learned with that battery is it works, only it does give me the invalid battery message and the phone shuts off but only if I reboot the phone at 100% battery life, upon booting the phone reports 50% charge and shuts off. You have to restart it a couple times until it's used a percentage or 2, then it boots fine. I emailed the seller about it and they responded with the cells are tested and they only use quality parts, they sent me another battery but that one does the same as the original. With the issue with the note 7 and other phones/chargers I stopped using the battery. It might be perfectly safe but I can't determine that and the risk is not one I am willing to wait and see. So, after the first full charge and discharge to 11%, I'm getting very good times better than stock. This will probably increase with a few more charging cycles. My opinion is this battery is definitely more mA. I will review more when later.
