Hello
Sorry for my expression, I am French and I use Google Translate.
I'm ready the new post Xtrons TE706PL Android 8 with 4GB, but having been disappointed by my old Xtrons TB706APL, before making my purchase, could you give me a feedback of your experience on the quality of this new product based on PX5 and Android 8, here are the malfunctions that I had met:
-Horrible echo in telephone communication for me and my interlocutor despite the settings in the menu system, whether with internal or external microphone and despite the many updates to MCU or ROM.
-Imcompatibility between Wifi and Bluetooth, if the Bluetooth is active, the Wifi signal was parasitized and impossible to have a stable internet connection.
-Poor quality of the screen, very sensitive to the sun, and under Waze or Maps, the names of the streets were hatched, see impossible to read, if you could post a screen copy with Waze it would be cool.
-Excessive CPU heat, I added a fan to cool the CPU card otherwise it was a regular reboot.
-A radio interface worthy of the year 1980.
-No presentation of the name of the person calling me, only the phone number.
-In the system menu it was possible to turn on the function keys permanently but this option did not work.
No support from Xtrons despite my many emails
In advance thank you for your return.

This is HCT as per all other MTCD PX5 Android 8 with minor vendor customisations.
The HA firmware thread has this version, you're not getting anything 'new'.
The reset procedure is GS MTCD procedure.
As @typos1 might say...the model code is meaningless, Xtrons are a reseller, GS is the factory who manufacture the unit. Expanding on that, all MTCD manufacturers reuse HCT design and firmware.
Perhaps post in an existing thread.

Mate,
Everything you wrote is almost correct.. but if I have a Honda car I would like to have a Honda sw and look and "feel" too and I knew that all Japanese cars are similar but for me the Honda sw has the priority if I have one, and no I do not have a Honda car but (only germany quality) as an example, we already knew where all those headunits came from and which company behind the fw / sw too so there is nothing news under the sun.. however, I always have trouble with the newer sw and update of gs seller because they are too slow when it came to sw update and men had to asking them many times and sending requests after requests to get a "newer" sw from them, had and have long experience with them.. so that's why men had to thanks this guy and also that Abby from xtrons for the sw and for placing it on the forum..
that is also the intentions and purpose of such forums.. right?
Anyway.. good luck!

You want a GS lightly customised HCT android firmware, which essentially is only the launcher and you wanted to thank the poster. OK, that's fine, there are related appropriate threads which exist without posting a new and duplicate threads.
Note, again, you're not getting anything 'new' from GS, you get the same HCT firmware as HA, drivers, issues, bugs, but with a GS launcher. There's plenty of information about thiis.

That's almost right too, and because I'm from yesterday with this hassle?, as you really thought, I would like to use the gs sw only and not that one of ha or from other brand names which is totally too ugly also in terms of ui & launcher in my eyes etc.
you can and may say your opinion as long as you believe in it, but I stick to my own gs headunit and the sw of it / for it, it has to do with taste differences.. maybe?.

There is no "Honda" software, the only thing "Honda" about it is the boot logo, which is the same for ALL MTCB/C/D/E units.

Absolutely not correct (really? yes, canbus !!) and as I ever replied to you I was one of the first who post a px5 headunit here on this forum with pictures before you ever came here.. so will you stop with such tasteless repetitions such as the manufacturer of those headunits and which company makes the sw/fw developments etc??? because I always when I read your reply to me I fell sick!!
as I once rebutted to you that I'm never been from yesterday with these hu's px3 + px5 + S6, Eonon, Pioneer, Albina, and much more while you not even have one of them and car's too!
with other words take your replys somewhere else.

I am so sorry to see people arguing for my post.
Yes, some love the GS UI
... for me, 8.0 GS UI it is the cleanest, fresh, modern UI from the all HU market. It is my opinion, but I am an professional artist and I know what I say.
So, please, just test and you will see.
P.S. I hope in a good ROOT metod for Oreo to root the GS original ROM.
Malaysk ROM is verry good... (Thanks for his hard work; I build custom roms in the past and I know the hard work.)
But his ROM has little problems with the temp of CPU (is verry HOT) and the UI is a litlle kitch in some aspects.
I know... I can use Nova launcher and icon packs but not all peopel have time and good design knowledge.
For me, Malaysk ROM grafic UI is OLD and UGLY. Better he will use the new UI in the new Malaysk ROM Rlease.
I write to him but he do not answer.
Have a nice day !

I do not like the look of Malask's ROM either.
I suspect that he does not reply because he does his ROM to his taste and any requests to change it are likely cause him offense.
When it comes to looks/design though, there is no right or wrong, it is all down to personal taste.

Yes, you can install any ROM for MTCD/E RK3358/PX5 units, are you on Oreo or MM ?
BTW you dont have an Xtrons, they are a seller only, your MCU will tell you what unit you have.

NEW Android ICS 5" Tablet/Portable console, the Droid X360

Found on Wololo's blog today, http://www.aliexpress.com/product-f...tendo-Sony-PS1-game-G-sensor-wholesalers.html
Its an tablet/gaming console for 110$ that has amazing specs and actual hardware gaming controlls, dual cameras and all of that android goodiness !
Sure its a chinese ripoff with design taken from the PS Vita and name taken from the XBox360
What do you guys think? I mean it's an android device with great specs for the prize and is made for portable gaming! I'm seriously considering skipping the nexus 7 and buying this instead (want the nexus 7 just because its a nexus device )
oh yeah. its even pre-rooted when you get it

Took the plunge. Just ordered. I'll let you know once it arrives.
sweet! be sure to report back on such as build quality and how well it went when ordering from aliexpress, when i bought something from there once it took about 2 weeks to get it :/
I ordered one as well, the ordering process was easy and they have really quick customer service. Now I just gotta wait for it to show up lol
I ordered mine from Willgoo and I highly recommend them. Excellent customer service and delivered to my door in 4 business days. As for the actual device, initial impressions aren't great. This video review from qbertaddict1 just about sums it up. However I'm still quietly confident that with a bit of work, this can be a great device. Working on figuring out whether the control issue is software, hardware or a combination of both. This things been on my desk in a million pieces all day. More to come...
Droid is a Verizon trademark. Just Saying
Sent from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 4G LTE
I just received mine today (from http://www.wholesaleonepiece.com/dr...lwinner-a10-android-40-ics-8g-hdmi_p4536.html, shipped from China via DHL). this is actually kind of cool. Definitely KiRF - it even came preloaded with a number of ROMs for each of the emulators, which is cool. Also came with come pictures of some random Chinese guy who must have been testing the camera for QC purposes (front and rear cameras both work great). Emulators run pretty well.
are the reviews true that this is worthless for playing games because the controls don't work correctly?
Here's a 4-part review of the system by Wololo: http://wololo.net/2012/08/07/droid-x360-review/
I just got mine this morning. The controls seem to be working fine for me. The analog sticks are a bit stiff but its not that bad. Other than that there is nothing wrong with it.
My SanDisk Ultra 64GB MicroSDXC card works like a champ in my Droid X360. Video playback performance is surprisingly good, as are the stereo speakers. Some of my ABXY buttons rotated(!) after a lot of use, but it was fairly easy to tear it apart and fix.
I read the review by wololo and it seems to be a decent device and an exellent product for being a chinese knockoff and i bet that if more ppl start buying these, we'll see that a talented dev fixes most of the issues, as most of em were software related, atleast I got that impression from wololo
Video Review
Rest assured, a very untalented developer (myself lol) is on the case. I've been developing a script (eventually will be a rom) specifically for this device. Check out the video review here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6G4Ouq7Yj0
Anyone who's interested, the script currently lives here:

Just got mine and after spending a few days with the device i gotta say i do like it alot. its replaced my psp (selling) as my portable emulator machine but its definitely got its quirks. Some Emus i kept and some i replaced with market versions. HDMI works awesome! it won't recognize my wired 360 controller using the OTG cable adapter though. if we had a clockworkmod and could flash CM9 i think it would be a pretty solid device. Since they already have CM9 out for the Allwinner A10 CPUs would there be alot more work in porting it over to the DX360???
Crucible, is there anyway to backup my current rom setup now with livesuite?
I know you said (and i saw in the video) your DX360 runs perfectly at 1200mhz (600min), mine almost instantly reboots at anything over 1157mhz(600min), i've tried setCPU and no frills CPU. i've tried different governors and no dice. oh well no use crying over 53mhz just thought i'd let you know.
i obviously have zero developer skills but um i'm down to do whatever i can to help.

Unfortunatly, there is currently no way to use CWM on this device due to the fact that the physical controls are not mapped directly to use the menus within CWM. Yes there has been a lot of work done to port CM9 to Allwinner 10 however I would need to create a custom rom to flash with livesuit rather than the standard method of installing via CWM (for the reason stated above). It's something I plan to look into at some stage.

Yeah cheaper CPUs tend to vary pretty significantly from chip to chip. Its worth keeping in mind when using any cheaper device.

Best thing you could do then is try out my script and report back with any bugs. However be aware that you will need to wipe and restore your device as part of the process.
Hi Crucible,
thank you for your efforts!
I'm using your mod and found a strange thing.
In some games that use the accelerometer in landscape mode (Asfalt 5, Labirinth ) the axes are switched so that up is left, right is down and so on.
Before the superscript Asfalt was playing correctly if I remember well so I think there is something to be set to adjust the accelerometer.
Do you know how to fix this?

I have never used no frills cpu, but I would assume it works the same as setcpu in that it doesn't modify hardware, therefore after a hard reset or firmware flash, the device should revert back to normal. Are you sure you flashed firmware correctly?

PX5 Upgrade problem

Hi All,
Ive just installed the PX5 upgrade to my joying Radio.
Got to say, its a lot faster than before, but ive noticed a problem with Spotify which i didnt had before.
It seems like everytime the device is working, the sound starts to stutter.
Theres an example:
https://youtu.be/lzHrBPQZsnw
I definetaly didnt had that before...
And also, when the device is cold( first start within an hour or so) i get some strange lines on my display. They will dissapear within 5 or 10 minutes... any ideas about this?

Thanks for your help
I have a little stutter in Spotify, but it has only 2 or 3 times, when I just started the app. After that it's gone. Did the same update from px3 to px5 on my joyous.
The lines I don't know...
Did you update mcu ? Don't know if that's got to do with anything ?

Is this unique to just Spotify for you? I get this same type of stutter for a second or two randomly with basically any type of playback that doesn't involve the radio, which for whatever reason is unaffected.
This stuttering seems to be more frequent the more I try to do with the unit, eg open other apps, use something that involves data transfer, etc.

im currently thinking to switch to an Joying Sofia device since i dont want to go back to a slower rk3811 device..
What units are experiencing this issue? Maybe we can narrow it down. It might be a hardware issue. I have a KGL unit, going to see if anyone with a KGL has any issues.

I definetaly didnt had that before...

I have original Dasaita HotAudio PX5 unit and Spotify stutters the same way. I've seen others mentioning it too. So ... it is not because you made the upgrade yourself - but it's just the current nature of the PX5 + Android 6, etc. combo. I just flashed the latest MCU version 2.56 and the stutter is still there.
I didn't have such stutter with my previous unit (KLD PX3 with KitKat)

Make POCO F1 stable

Instead of asking Xiaomi or the POCO team for more features, we should ask them to fix the basic issues such as touch issue(now it is only on the edges on my device with 8.12.27 firmware), and fix the notifications and hide notch options before moving onto new features like 60fps videos and such. It seems like the whole MIUI forum is filled with people asking for new features instead of making it stable.
Also can anyone comment on whether the touch is a hardware issue or a software one? Can it be fixed by devs of XDA?

it's hardware related, can be fix by software but the fix for some it's not equal to others, so hard to make a universal fix...
Can you clarify please ?

Not really got an announcement for you to read, but if you search here in the forums you can see that different batches of the poco ( month of fabrication)(first batch even got screen bleeding) work better with some firmware versions and others work better with different firmware version, that is related that xiaomi is trying to fix the ghost touches by changing the way screen reacts to touch, but some batches work better in a way that make lag or ultra sensitive touch in others, that happens because the screen is not build the same way hence the "different" screens ...
Depending for what you will use the phone, that's not a really serious problem, noticeable more in some games...
Hope i explained myself good...q
Here are some testimony from users with different batches:

Touch issues are there in all the pocos except the latest batches now.
Touch issues are not severe are usable.
Some builds fixed half issues other created half.
If you wanna buy just buy you won't regret.
If touch gets perfect i am more than happy if not i can still live with it happily.
Rprpprrp ( i typed pr pr pr pr) this is issue.
But you will become habitual within a day or two. big deal.

Guys : Touch issue is real, face it or go for another model.
As per this thread suggest, even if you get newer touch screen panel, there is no 100 % guarantee that touch will work fine.
.
Because : old panels all issues fixed from 8.11.23 beta to 8.12.20 beta, and in this period newer panels got issues.
So they reverted that fix in 8.12.27 beta. But then again same issues are back for old panels. And newer panels are good now.
Now old panel users are waiting for new update which includes 8.12.20 touch firmware.
.
So Xiaomi has fix for everyone but they don't know proper way to implement it. ( recognising both users and applying fix upon it)
In coming days they will find it.
And everyone will be happy.
In worst case, you need to go service center for flashing new firmware with new bootloader which can recognize which panel you have.
.
So, waiting is best way for it.

Oh that's interesting. Some people here claim that newer batches don't have the touch problem yet you seem to have the exact same issue as my unit which was assembled in July 2018. Full four months and the issue still there... That is why I don't believe there are Poco users who don't have this problem.

Some things are a pattern: it involves all Poco f1 made in August 2018.
8.12.27 is the latest firmware we can use.
Any firmware which is more recent gives the black screen. So we must have a different display manufacturer.
The only solution I see is to update vendor and firmware without the display drivers.

From what i understood and feel by flashing almost every Pie beta & stable is, there are atleast 2 set of touch screen that Xiaomi used in POCO F1, so we are getting conflicting results/reviews in term of touch response.
So, if you try to satisfy ones for whom touch is good enough with Pie stable of current beta build other segment will cry-out loud with issue, if you go with older beta build like 8.12.20 then people like me whose device work good enough on stable Pie will face touch issue.
So, it's never ending game and Xiaomi should accept the hardware issue, replace & be done with it.

Lg V20 review/modding guide mid 2019

This is my review of the lg v20 in 2019. It has received positive feedback on Telegram and Reddit, so I decided to post it here as well. I'm going to try to keep updating this as I go with my current mods.
The article will hopefully be updated again next week addressing the current constructive criticism I have received.
Hope this helps someone out.
Updates 5/21/19
5/21/19
Clarified thermal test run in airplane mode
updated to latest MK 2.2 clang kernel
Complete new section regarding Model Variants Kernels
removed universal gms doze due to crashing android VM
removed WhatsApp extensions Xposed module due to issues
Added modded libraries comparison from imgur
clarified which libs my shots were with
Hi, nice post. Just what I was looking for as I am about to acquire a V20, a Korean version and I'm looking to mod it like my G5 with everything possible . First question - your article has a link to something to mod the secondary screen but the link is dead. Could you say what was the mod and is it still available?

That paid app, BoredSigns, has been discontinued and taken off the Play store since the developer no longer owns a V20. Its weather widget has been broken for a while, so don't expect that part to work. I have attached a screenshot of the developer's message on the Play store listing which you can only see if you already had the app installed earlier. You can still build the app yourself from its source on GitHub if interested.
I just bought a F800 model on ebay for very little which has a cracked screen and other minor problems. I'm not sure if it's F800 L or K or S yet and I won't know until I receive it. In any case I'm in europe and I'm hoping to do the works, root it, twrp it etc and maybe put a european software version on it. I'm not sure in what order I should go about this, would you have an opinion.? Should I root and twrp it first or should I kdz a different firmware first and then root it? As I write this I suppose it's logical to root it first, it couldn't make changing firmware version more difficult I suppose. Any thoughts appreciated. I'm totally new the phone so not sure what's possible.

I'm not familiar with the Korean variants, but I think this general thread on the F800 models should help you get started. The later pages in there will give you an idea of other users' recent activities.
Ok gonna have time to update my article next week.
What do you want me to talk about or clarified.
Thank you very much for this, it is very helpful to have it all together. In the light of this, I believe that it would be helpful if you advice people a bit about rooting, not the very basic, but what one need to be aware of, possible pitfalls in the process.
Partly because of your nice recommendations I have now rooted my V20 and installed most of your recommendations. Until now everything is fine

I just changed test settings from 15 min to 10. I left everything else as it is. (number of threads: 20)
It also surprised me, because I've had this phone for two whole years.
Made the test with airplane mode on. Maybe there's something wrong with the settings?
Also maybe it is because I am currently in a sort of cold room? (about 20°c)
Edit: Re-running test for 15 min. Moved to a slightly hotter area of the same room.
Re-edit: Changed thermal paste anyways. I'm going to check if it's better for me.
I have a new refrub and I got 85K. Defiantly let it run for over 10 minutes. I didn't see any red lines in the graph. I didn't play with any settings. I'm kinda disappointed which is ridiculous because I bought the paste in advance and I have a copper shim I was thinking of putting on it as well. I don't see any need to do it now so I'll leave it for the time being.
Are you guys looking at the max reading or the average? I got just shy of 100k when I was using the electrically conductive pad but average was still only in the 80s. The 2nd pic was the new one I replaced it with after I found out it was electrically conductive.

Latest firmware and mcu for Seicane px5 mtce hf

Hello. I'm hoping to keep my unit as up to date as possible and wanted to ask if there any files compatible with my unit, and if possible, change the look of the ui too, because it looks super bland to me compared some of the ones I've seen online. I've only updated the firmware once when my seller gave me a file to fix the time issue I had when I first got the unit.
I currently have a Seicane unit for my accord 05.
The reason I'd like to update the mcu is in hopes that may be it'll help with displaying my climate controls. Maybe I'm off with that, but I'm still not able to figure out how to make it display on my screen.
I'm honestly sorry if this has been asked before, I just got overwhelmed with searching on my own in android auto, so I figured I'd ask directly.
Thank you guys.
What factory/mcu do you have. From that you can then decide options.

I took a pic of my system specs.
If you're referring to the manufacturer, I believe it's HF, so I haven't really found much for this specific firmware and mcu. Doesn't seem to be as relevant here unfortunately.
Be aware, your head unit may randomly get black screen issue. My HF headunit with 3.0x MCU had that issue.
You need to get your MCU updated to 3.30. You can get the MCU update here: mega.nz/#F!T1FgjA7A!wc9p40bocqCiBX8XPR50ig
Sorry, I don't remember where I found the link. It must be one of the sound patch thread. Credits goes to cs-x who did the sound patch, and the original thread owner.

Hi, I have the same exactly Seicane head unit as @chewybits95 (same MCU version and date, same 9" display)
Did one of you succesfully update your MCU HF 3.07 to 3.30?
Thanks.

Hello to everybody.
I've the same device from Seicane. for my Renault Koleos bought 2 months ago in Aliexpress. It came with version 3.30. The information of my device is
- Compilation rk3368
- Kernel 4.4.167 #176 Fri Nov 22 09:34
- Version MCU MTCE_HF_V3.30_1 aug 6 2019 11:08:02
- CPU Octa Core Cortex A53 1.5G
- Android 9. Screen resolution 1024*768. 9 " Screen
- Memory 3940 Mb
I've problems with microphone ( nobody can hear me when calling). I'm looking for an update. Does anyone can confirm if I can install one of the mod firmwares? I guess this should be compatible with PX5 firmwares, but I'm not 100% sure. Does anybody else has this problem with the microphone?
I haven't found any information in Seicane website. Their support is a disaster....

This is the latest available at least on the net.
There is also a V3.30 sound patched for better audio for units w/o a DSP:

For your microphone problem, try connecting an external one.

Thank you very much for your support. I'll try to update the device and to use the external mic. My concern is that volume of the microphone is adjusted to 0 and I haven't found how to change it ( even trying dozens of programs to test miccrophones). I'll try with external one.
Thank you again.
Hi.
Anyone know, or can you tell me who is the HF manufacturer?
The seller is Secaine, but he does not offer any information, nor does he provide any type of file for updating his devices.: eek:

I've tried eternal mic via jack connector and I installed the update. Nothing changed. Nobody can hear me in Bluetooth calls and if I record the sound of the microphone, nothing appears.
I've entered in factory settings and I've seen I have Bluetooth device SD-BC6. I didn't found any option to increase the volume of the microphone. I'm installing programs to access to engineering mode ( I hope I could change the volume of the mic).
In parallel, I've bought in aliexpress an USB microphone, in order to have other input source. Let's see. If none of those test work, I'm thinking on install other firmware like hal9k and root my device.
I don't know what else to do.....
Any idea?

If you used a compatible electret condenser mic, in this case the problem has nothing to do with Bluetooth, so it may be a hardware issue.

My guess is that mic volume is lowered to 0 I don't know why, since 2 independent microphones give the same result.
In other android 'phones' I entered in engineering mode and I was able to change this. This is the main option I'm looking for.
In parallel, a USB microphone (I'm waiting for it) would be a different sound source to try with ..... We will see which works
Did you factory reset the head unit?
After a factory reset the mic level should be reset as well.
Hello everyone. I received an updated Firmware directly from seicane for their head unit. This is Android 10 update for the 2/32 GB unit. Everything seems to be working great so far on unit. If you would like to try it for yourself please feel free to download and install. I'm not too tech savvy so if you have any questions I'll answer them the best I can. Thought I would share for anyone to update their own unit if possible
PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I will not be held responsible for any damages done to your own unit.
Thank you!

Seicane was the one who give me this directly and said it was Android version 10. I haven't tried it myself because my radio is working smoothly right now. If it's not Android 10 I do apologise as I was told that is the version. I wouldn't lie about this because I have gotten so much from this forum and want to give back. As I said, seicane claim this is Android 10 version. I have the conversation to prove this if needed.
The end part of the title of the file already says it all: September 25, 2019.
It is obvious that something is wrong there.

I honestly didn't pay any attention to the file name. I did mention it to seicane support team that this isn't Android 10 version. They are supposed to be looking into it and sending the correct version soon. I did notice that the specs on my unit is
