PX5 Upgrade problem - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hi All,
Ive just installed the PX5 upgrade to my joying Radio.
Got to say, its a lot faster than before, but ive noticed a problem with Spotify which i didnt had before.
It seems like everytime the device is working, the sound starts to stutter.
Theres an example:
https://youtu.be/lzHrBPQZsnw
I definetaly didnt had that before...
And also, when the device is cold( first start within an hour or so) i get some strange lines on my display. They will dissapear within 5 or 10 minutes... any ideas about this?

Thanks for your help

I have a little stutter in Spotify, but it has only 2 or 3 times, when I just started the app. After that it's gone. Did the same update from px3 to px5 on my joyous.
The lines I don't know...
Did you update mcu ? Don't know if that's got to do with anything ?

Jup, updated the mcu... was on the original joying mcu and now on hotaudio...
Also tried malaysk custom rom... same problems there...

Did the stuttering and lines appear with px5 installed and joying mcu?

I also gave a feedback rating on an order I placed thru them. I think that perhaps they have a say on the approvals? Personally had no problems, left a positive feedback.

I'm also waiting for mine...
Should be here in a week or so... Will report how it goes.

Mine is "shipped"... Don´t know how long it will take to germany ;-(
Only 39 orders at the moment?!

Is this unique to just Spotify for you? I get this same type of stutter for a second or two randomly with basically any type of playback that doesn't involve the radio, which for whatever reason is unaffected.
This stuttering seems to be more frequent the more I try to do with the unit, eg open other apps, use something that involves data transfer, etc.

No, i also get it on every other Audio source, but it seems like ive got it most on Spotify.
The main Problem i wont use bluetooth is the "poor" quality of the sound.
Do you also using the upgrade?

I'm on native Dasaita PX5, no upgrade. It is interesting, however, that you experience the same problem with your PX5 unit. Seems to be very much hit or miss from the responses I've seen here.

Hm thats rly interesstyng....
Ive also thought it could be a heat problem but ive also switched the thermal paste on the heat sink --> no difference..
im currently thinking to switch to an Joying Sofia device since i dont want to go back to a slower rk3811 device..

What units are experiencing this issue? Maybe we can narrow it down. It might be a hardware issue. I have a KGL unit, going to see if anyone with a KGL has any issues.

I have original Dasaita HotAudio PX5 unit and Spotify stutters the same way. I've seen others mentioning it too. So ... it is not because you made the upgrade yourself - but it's just the current nature of the PX5 + Android 6, etc. combo. I just flashed the latest MCU version 2.56 and the stutter is still there.
I didn't have such stutter with my previous unit (KLD PX3 with KitKat)

[Q] Right speaker problem

Hi everyone!
I'm noticing after some days that there's a strange sound coming out from the right speaker, the part wich is in the right side of the tablet.. It mostly happens (and it's louder) after a tap on the screen, when touching something makes a *click* of the system ui... I always have the brightness at a more or less 65%, and the sound set to more than 50%, don't know how much exactly.. , And it happens more frequently when wifi is on. The problem is that the sound continues even when the screen is off, and there's no music playing...
Please, can sombody go to place without noises and check if that happens also to you? Just to know if this is a fault of my device or if it happens to everyone
Thanks!!
Nobody has this issue?? I've tested it again today and I can still hear that sound
I have it too and many other people as well. I have seen a thread about it few days ago on Official Shield Tablet Board...

Thanks! So it looks like a normal sound from the SoC... Is there anyway to make it sound less? I think it could broke the speaker, by being constantly "in use", without stoping..
May I ask you what firmware version you are using (did you update via OTA to 1.2.1)?

Yep, I think the tablet was in 1.1, and I received the 1.2.1 a week ago, so I updated it...
Same thing is happening to mine and it's on the latest firmware

Could anyone possibly running a custom ROM confirm if this still happens? If not maybe it could mean that it can be software issue (just hoping)

On mine the sound disappears when I turn off the screen and when I am on home screen not doing anything for few seconds I can hear that speakers do turn off... But I am on software 1.0 (didn't update because no problems other than that)
So this may be software related...

I am getting very stuttery/laggy/crackly audio over wired headphones and speaker on O

Hello! I never had a problem with my Google Pixel until now.
I downloaded and installed the official Android 8.0 update for my Pixel. As soon as it booted, I did what I normally do and I opened up my audiobooks player to play my 4 hour long MP3 that I listen to. I noticed immediately that the audio was stuttering and crackling, like the way a very old PC would do when you had too many things running while you tried to listen to music.
It is not a bluetooth issue because it happens with wired headphones and even with the internal speaker. It does it whether or not my phone is rooted (does not make a difference). I do not have a lot of apps installed. Again, this did not happen at all on Android N.
The issue is not just with my audio book player app. While it does not happen in Youtube, it also happens if I try to play a video in a web browser. The same horrible audio lagging/stuttering.
I did not see anyone complain about this, so I am at a loss for what it could possibly be. Anyone with any pointers I would greatly appreciate them! It is driving me crazy!
It happens to me too, I have to clear all apps from the background and reboot. Then the audio go back to normal.

It goes back to normal for me after a reboot but it comes right back after not too much time. Why did Google officially release Oreo with this kind of issue?

I had it on nougat also, but it happens a lot more frequently on Oreo.
Has anyone found a fix?
It is some sort of weird RAM issue. I downloaded a RAM cleaner, and even though I have lots of free RAM, cleaning the RAM fixes it (until it eventually comes back). What is going on?

I heard it's hardware. No one else is having these issues. Do an RMA and be done with it.

Where did you hear this? And if it's a hardware issue why isn't it there in Android Nougat?
How did you "hear it's a hardware issue" but never heard of anyone else having this problem? Don't those statements contradict each other?

I just got the issue after updating, never had it before. It doesn't happen often and a reboot fixes it every time. Which leads me to believe it's software.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm beginning to think that perhaps an app that's installed is conflicting with either ram usage or the audio drivers. Unfortunately, in order to find out what it is, a clean system would be needed at this point. No apps installed, test out the audio. If it works then you're in for a long day adding each app one at a time. If it still doesn't work I'd try another set of headphones, although that seems ludicrous. Lastly, since you're rooted you can go back to N if it's that important to you and report the heck out of it to Google. Good luck guys.
Not that it matters to you that much, but I listen to the headphones every day, Spotify, Pandora, Sports Gold and not a single issue on any of them. Bluetooth is another story, but wired static is rare. Search Google issues see if you come up with anything.

I have no issues with streaming services which is probably why you don't have the issue. It only happens to me in audio playing from a web browser or local audio files.

Bluetooth Loosing Name/Passcode

Hi all,
I've been searching for answers to this issue to no avail so far!
The Bluetooth works flawlessly when it works but after the unit has been off for a few hours and comes back out of sleep or even after a full shutdown, the Bluetooth stops working and looses both its name and passcode
Sometimes takes up to 3 full reboots to get it back
It's got an sd-968 in a px3 unit running Malaysk ROM also with the most recent MCU
It did the same on stock ROM too
Thanks!

Ahh that would make sense! Strange I thought this would conflict with the on-board bluetooth
AFAIK there is no USB bluetooth module that works with our units...if technical support is going to send you a replacement it will be a full coreboard replacement.
Same problem...

The same situation with my PX5 Dasaita - very rare, but some times bluetooth looses name and password. Can t find what is the cause...
Regards
I have a KBT unit and the same has been happening to me too. Initially the name was "EONON" (the reseller) and passcode something starting with 5. For no apparent reason the name would change to "CAR-KIT" and passcose 1234. The same happened after I upgraded the SoC from a PX3 to a PX5, updating the MCU and firmware (multiple times for reasons unleated to this). After the upgrade it would go back to "EONON" and at some point it would change to "CAR-KIT" again.

Hello, i have the same problem with the same bt chip.
SD-968 on Eonon navigation. Last summer it was working ok if i remember correctly when i was on stock rom, but then i changed to malasyk and hal9k, and i have problems.
I checked the factory settings and i have SD-968 option on BT. I even dissasembled the navigation to physically check if i have SD-968 and its there!
If i put the navi to autosleep, almost never wakes up with BT available. Always no name and no password with no luck of writing them back. The only solution is to reset the navi once, maybe twice.
I tried to put it on auto off after 30mins, so it will do a full bootup, and maybe 5 times out of 10, it works.
Maybe is has something to do with the cold? i tried the navi on my table in the house and it was a perfect 10/10 at bootup.

Latest firmware and mcu for Seicane px5 mtce hf

Hello. I'm hoping to keep my unit as up to date as possible and wanted to ask if there any files compatible with my unit, and if possible, change the look of the ui too, because it looks super bland to me compared some of the ones I've seen online. I've only updated the firmware once when my seller gave me a file to fix the time issue I had when I first got the unit.
I currently have a Seicane unit for my accord 05.
The reason I'd like to update the mcu is in hopes that may be it'll help with displaying my climate controls. Maybe I'm off with that, but I'm still not able to figure out how to make it display on my screen.
I'm honestly sorry if this has been asked before, I just got overwhelmed with searching on my own in android auto, so I figured I'd ask directly.
Thank you guys.
What factory/mcu do you have. From that you can then decide options.

I took a pic of my system specs.
If you're referring to the manufacturer, I believe it's HF, so I haven't really found much for this specific firmware and mcu. Doesn't seem to be as relevant here unfortunately.
Be aware, your head unit may randomly get black screen issue. My HF headunit with 3.0x MCU had that issue.
You need to get your MCU updated to 3.30. You can get the MCU update here: mega.nz/#F!T1FgjA7A!wc9p40bocqCiBX8XPR50ig
Sorry, I don't remember where I found the link. It must be one of the sound patch thread. Credits goes to cs-x who did the sound patch, and the original thread owner.

I've problems with microphone ( nobody can hear me when calling). I'm looking for an update. Does anyone can confirm if I can install one of the mod firmwares? I guess this should be compatible with PX5 firmwares, but I'm not 100% sure. Does anybody else has this problem with the microphone?
I haven't found any information in Seicane website. Their support is a disaster....

This is the latest available at least on the net.
There is also a V3.30 sound patched for better audio for units w/o a DSP:
dmcu(MTCE-HF-3.30sp+by+cs-x).7z
https://mega.nz/#F!T1FgjA7A!wc9p40bocqCiBX8XPR50ig?jhUEmAYD
For your microphone problem, try connecting an external one.

Thank you very much for your support. I'll try to update the device and to use the external mic. My concern is that volume of the microphone is adjusted to 0 and I haven't found how to change it ( even trying dozens of programs to test miccrophones). I'll try with external one.
Thank you again.
Hi.
Anyone know, or can you tell me who is the HF manufacturer?
The seller is Secaine, but he does not offer any information, nor does he provide any type of file for updating his devices.: eek:

I've tried eternal mic via jack connector and I installed the update. Nothing changed. Nobody can hear me in Bluetooth calls and if I record the sound of the microphone, nothing appears.
I've entered in factory settings and I've seen I have Bluetooth device SD-BC6. I didn't found any option to increase the volume of the microphone. I'm installing programs to access to engineering mode ( I hope I could change the volume of the mic).
In parallel, I've bought in aliexpress an USB microphone, in order to have other input source. Let's see. If none of those test work, I'm thinking on install other firmware like hal9k and root my device.
I don't know what else to do.....
Any idea?

If you used a compatible electret condenser mic, in this case the problem has nothing to do with Bluetooth, so it may be a hardware issue.

My guess is that mic volume is lowered to 0 I don't know why, since 2 independent microphones give the same result.
In other android 'phones' I entered in engineering mode and I was able to change this. This is the main option I'm looking for.
In parallel, a USB microphone (I'm waiting for it) would be a different sound source to try with ..... We will see which works
Did you factory reset the head unit?
After a factory reset the mic level should be reset as well.
Hello everyone. I received an updated Firmware directly from seicane for their head unit. This is Android 10 update for the 2/32 GB unit. Everything seems to be working great so far on unit. If you would like to try it for yourself please feel free to download and install. I'm not too tech savvy so if you have any questions I'll answer them the best I can. Thought I would share for anyone to update their own unit if possible
PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I will not be held responsible for any damages done to your own unit.
Thank you!

Seicane was the one who give me this directly and said it was Android version 10. I haven't tried it myself because my radio is working smoothly right now. If it's not Android 10 I do apologise as I was told that is the version. I wouldn't lie about this because I have gotten so much from this forum and want to give back. As I said, seicane claim this is Android 10 version. I have the conversation to prove this if needed.
The end part of the title of the file already says it all: September 25, 2019.
It is obvious that something is wrong there.

I honestly didn't pay any attention to the file name. I did mention it to seicane support team that this isn't Android 10 version. They are supposed to be looking into it and sending the correct version soon. I did notice that the specs on my unit is
AllWinner
Quad-Core T3 P1
Board: exdroid
GPU:Mali-400 MP
API:29
I found these online and I am running them on my Seicane PX5.

Delay when pressing notifications

Hello guys, I recently got my new Oneplus 8T, and, whilst the device is amazing from what I could use it, it has an annoying flaw that I couldn´t find any information of.
When I press a whatsapp, telegram, etc notification, there´s a bit of delay inbetween the press and the start of the app opening. The phone does it the majority of times, as you can see in the video below (at the 10 second mark it opens it right):
Do you have an idea on what could be causing this? Does any of you have the same issue I do? I tried turning off everything related to battery saving, even factory reseting. Any help is much appreciated, thank you in advance!

I've come across some people with this specific flaw, I contacted Oneplus and they told me to factory reset the phone and if that didn't help (which did not, since I've gone wayy further with it, installing HydrogenOS and older versions of OxygenOS and didn't solve the issue), it "might" be a software issue and it "might" be solved in the next software update.
For how much have you been with the phone?
What is bugging me is that this problem is too specific for it to be a hardware issue.

Yes, I still have my Oneplus 7 Pro and it works flawlessly. I think I found something crucial.
The problem lays whitin the "Notifications" apartment. I'll explain myself.
As you can see in this new video I recorded
that weird delay shows when I open a notification coming from the tab "Notifications". BUT, when I open the SAME APP (Play Store) from a notification coming from "Other notifications" there's no delay at all, the phone works flawlessly, see how I press to see how my download is going, there's no lag. It would be wonderful if you could try it yourself, and see if that's the case on you unit too.
Taking this into account, I'm almost 100% sure this is a software related problem, and has nothing to do with hardware, probably a bug.
I'll report it to the bug reporting section of Oneplus and see if they can work on it.

No, I coulnd't. But I confirmed it to be a software related problem. I flashed LineageOS and PixelExperience ROM and the phone worked flawlessly. So we might have to wait for Oneplus to fix the problem in next OTA.

Yes, I was really satisfied with these ROMS performance, the only downside was getting Widevine security level down to L3, so i can't watch netflix on the phone anymore... Kinda sad we have to do this in order for the phone to work correctly.

Oh, I might try that one, thank you man! Just updated to the newest OTA that was released today, and didn't fix the issue whatsoever... This is pretty sad.

The latest OTA kinda did something for me. I get the delay 5 out of 10 times I press a notification. Used to be 9 out of 10 times lol. It's not completely fixed but it's an improvement. What I did was send a bug report to the Oneplus bug reporting site and they said that they will be working on it.
