Hi,
I preordered a sim-only p20 from carphonewarehouse in the UK. Everywhere it says it's a dual sim phone as standard, but have heard contradicting things on posts online.
If you received yours in the UK, is it dualsim or not?
many thanks

Hi,
I pre-order mine in O2 (UK) as they were one of two reselers that supposed to have dual sim version (second was Three), that was at least according to oficial uk huawei site, when you could pick color version: single/dual sim and then list of reselers appeared.
Today I got mine and it is a single sim, even they have ensured my it is dual, I have opened the box at home to see that sim tray has only one slot, second one is kinda blocked.
My model: EML-L09
FCC ID: QISEML-L09
I have checked in the settings if that's only the sim tray that I need to change to dual sim, however there is no option at all regarding dual sim, as I have in my dual sim huawei nova, so software also doesn't support it in this version.
Going to return it tomorrow, or replace with dual sim, if they have it.

It will be surely single SIM from cpw, Voda, EE, 3, O2 etc , dual SIM are only if you buy from Huawei direct and from some other retailer

Received mine yesterday from CPW UK and it is only single SIM card.
Three UK are dual sim models
I'll get mine tomorrow, will return if single sim straight away.
unless there is an adapter one could buy to make it dual SIM
Does anybody know if the model EML-L09 is the single or dual sim model?
I'd rather leave it wrapped unless it was the dual sim model.
Many thanks

As far as I know, only Three in the UK sell the dual SIM version. Their prices are higher than all other providers, but I wanted the dual SIM so went with Three. My model is L29

I think only L29 is dual sim. That's mine...
Today after 2 weeks! I have received oficial reply from Huawei, how to distinguish which one is dual sim:
"Regarding you question, please be informed that on the original box of the devices you can found two IMEI numbers (the number has 15 digits and it starts with 86). If they appear on the box means that the device is dual SIM."
Cheers
Can anyone confirm the difference between the l-09 and l-29 in terms of uk useability? Will both work fine on all uk networks or is one a global/non global version etc that will only work in some countries.
Not bothered about single/dual sim atall- is that the only difference?
Thanks

Hi, I've seen the hybrid microSD + dualsim adaptor that may have the S7 by default, but only in certain countries.
I have currently an S6 Duos (regular version, I didn't find the Edge in dual sim).
Do you think that would be real?
the second slot is either for a microsd card or sim card

are you sure? I was refering to Europe, as far as I see in EU it will be like this
The European and U.S. variants don't have dual sim; dual sim requires to use two baseband chips, which is adds an additional cost to the manufacturer, therefore you can guess Samsung will only implement it on markets with high demands for such products (China, India...)

The ones offered in Belgium on pre-order seem to have Dual-SIM...
The SM-G930F and SM-G935F which are, respectively, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge for the European market, are not dual sim.
So what the well is the hybrid SIM and microSD slot?
Ps: Huawei P8 lite also have this with only one imei and support 2 sim cards...

They just use the same sim tray worldwide to minimise costs.
Because they use a hybrid SIM tray does not mean your handset supports more than one sim card.

If you assume the physical connectors for a second SIM is in the tray of the SIM/SD slot of all major versions.
But there was a discussion if only the Exynos version that aims at the Asian market will get also the connectors for the second SIM.
From experience Samsung often build a range of phones and sells them under the same model no. That leads to an uncertainty until the last minute.
In Hong Kong they usually first sell the regular international one (F) and after a while also the (mainland China targeting) Dual SIM version (D or whatever).
If physically a second SIM card is connected over the small tray... it still needs to be managed by the OS. I am curious to see if all versions of Samsungs OS will have that capability.

maybe you are right, we shall see
this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/user-manual-samsung-galaxy-s7edge-t3321948 then page 133 of the hand book shows all about the sim draw
i don´t get it, should i be able to enable the dual sim in all the variants (maybe changing the sim trail) or some models will support it and others don´t?

I think its only
Model numbers SM 9350 and SM 9300 for China and HK
Model numbers SM 935FD and SM 930FD for SE Asia
Well i guess dual sim only for exynos version..
Is it hardware or software related? I mean, in latter case, one could use a custom ROM in order to enable dual SIM compatibility.

Because of how the tray looks on the S7 people were hoping it's already ready to go for Dual SIM, but it isn't S7 manual explains there's a SIM tray that supports 1 SIM + 1 micro SD card, and then there's a SIM tray that supports 1 SIM + 1 SIM or micro SD card (meaning you either have two SIMs in or 1 SIM and 1 micro SD, can't use 3 of them at the same time). But as of right now Europe and US are getting the 1 SIM only phones, as of right now Dual SIM isn't available. Maybe if you dig you could find it on some Asian shop which is usually where they get Dual SIM phones, maybe India too?
I have a dual sim S7, other than having dual sim, what's the difference between dual sim and not dual sim S7?
Any update on this? I am about to buy an s7 edge but definitely not willing to shell out a ~100EUR more for the DUOS model. (I am in Europe, getting the Exynos version won't be a problem)
Dual sim card need full network band. This is only can be achieved by Qualcomm. Qualcomm has the patent of cdma standard
So dual sim need supported from Hardware .Exynos version often sells in Europe. So Samsung do not need to worry cdma or another standard. Europe use WCDMA.
Hi,
I want to buy an S7 from Amazon.com that works in all Europe (I am for a while in USA, but I live in Europe), but from what I see not all versions are Dual Sim. Nevertheless, the Dual Sim I found was for Asia/Africa and not for Europe.
I would greatly appreciate some help in order to make sure I order the right version. It's quite confusing with all the Asian regions and dual/single sim version
The 930FD version (iT's The international Model) work fine in Europe. It's the model with Exymos cpu.
It probably will work fine in the US too but not on all networks
it will work if it is a international version

On amazon is shows up as Samsung Galaxy S7 Dual Sim Factory Unlocked Phone 32 GB - Internationally Sourced (Middle East/Afican/Asia) Version G930FD Dual Sim- Black Oynx.
This is what confuses me. It says INTERNATIONALLY SOURCED but it spacifies only Africa/Asia

I think that Middle East/Africa/Asia are the regions where is sold officially.
Anyway, you won't have problems in any country with the Dual SIM version.

Any suggestions please??
Dear community,
I've got a question related to the Sony Xperia XA which is sold in germany.
The version has a single SIM Tray. Looking at the tecspecs, i can see, there also is a dual SIM version.
So my question ist: Does anyone knows, if this is a different smartphone, so that the hardware of the single SIM version is not able to handle double sim?
Or is it just the sim tray, which is single SIM in germany?
It's the model no F311, if it helps.
I'm asking this, because i can buy a dual SIM tray for less money. I'm not allowed to post the link, but you can find it on parts4repair dot com.
If it's also just a software thing, i can use another rom which can handle dual sim.
Would be happy to hear about your experience so far.
Greetings,
Cyberrob
You can find 5 models of the XA: F3111, F3113 and F3115 with single sim, F3112 and F3116 with dual sim. Others hardware specs are same for all, only radio bands are differents. If you want dual sim XA for Germany you have to buy the F3112, I'm from France and have it (from the Sony Store). To be sure verify the network bands used by your provider.
That's a really good answer, tank you so much.
So i do know now, it's impossible with my F3111.
Had no other option, because it's from a contract extension, or how it is called in english.
Hi All,
Can some provide some info on which carrier in the UK supplies the dual sim P30? I am looking to get one
Many thanks
I'm fairly certain most ones do. EE 100% has it, as I'm using one right now
Anyone know if N20 Ultra will have dual SIM in States? I've searched but couldn't find anything solid on it.
ANy update fellas? Are they gonna release OTA to add eSIM functionality? I am regretting buying this 1300 bucks toy now.
I want to know this too, would pull the trigger right now but can't find it. Official site says there are single and dual sim models, but when you go to checkout doesn't say what you're getting!

Just chatted with support, FWIW, he said only the Global version has dual-sim, not the US version.

Well that's a bummer.. I guess it's going on swappa or offerup, still making money.
So the USA model won’t even be dual sim EG one physical sim and one e-sim? [emoji23]
Nope, yet Apple has had it for two years!
Dual sim= Sim+ eSim
Exynos
just like the s20 ultra it isnt clear at all. there does seem to exist a 'B' model and an 'F' model, some are dual sim, some are LTE only. its hard to find exactly the right one. In the Note 10 the 'F' model didnt have band 30. But on the LTE only s20 (no 5G) there is band 30. But on the 5G model there isnt band 30. Frustrating if you use AT&T
I think the dual sim model of the Note 20 ultra is sm-n986b. its not clear if its dual sim or sim plus e-sim.
The US models are historically NOT dual sim on nOte 10 and s20.
In Europe is dual sim = sim + sim or you can use sim + esim + SD card on ultra

That link is for "global" version and it says ESIM support is dependent on country/carrier. Samsung has disabled ESIM specifically for US for some odd reason. They promised S20 will have ESIM with a software update but that did not happen as of yet, we can only hope their $1500 flagship N20 Ultra supports this but as of now there is no mention of it.

Don't hold your breath!
Has anyone used one of the international Dual-SIM unlocked models recently? I'm guessing they still don't have the ability to do VOLTE and Wifi Calling because they don't have the US CSCs available. I have the US unlocked Note 10+ and appreciate how smooth the carrier swap process is, but like everyone else I'd prefer to just leave a couple of SIMs in at the same time.

It depends on the carrier, but you will get WiFi calling and VoLTE on US Tmobile if using Exynos dual sim model. It lacks the important bands though like band 66, band 71 and some 5G bands
From what Ive seen and reading - no Dual Sim in North America ( same like S20 ) -which means Physical + Esim, having just Esim means phone w/o a physical sim and thats it, but not work in conjuction
Users experience for S20

It acts like the regular Snapdragon version will support Dual Sim???? I won't be able to test it out until Monday so curious if anyone else has tried.
I have an ATT SD variant that lists 2 IMEIs on the box, however, it appears the eSim functionality has been disabled. there's another thread on the eSim where this is being discussed as well.
