S8+ Media Files Problem on WhatsApp - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

I updated over a month ago my S8+ to Oreo and this weird bug started.
When I try to open most of the media on WhatsApp it says "Sorry, this media file doesn't exist on your internal storage".
When I restart I get some of the media back but not all of it.
I don't use an SD Card.
On the Gallery app some pictures shows up as a gray box with an exclamation mark, I'm not sure if it's WhatsApp only.
Has anyone experienced this bug? Has anyone been able to fix it?

I have encountered a similar issue since yesterday on video files. Some of the downloaded videos that had no issue started showing error (file doesn't exist) and then the file icons completely disappeared. Today I downloaded more videos that disappeared only a few minutes after download. Strangely the videos that disappeared yesterday came back. I have never encountered such an issue with galaxies before. Very very strange. Anybody with any advice?

Still hoping to get help with this guys, I've switched roms twice now (clean flashes) and it's still consistently happening

[Q] Problems with playing music, ringtones, etc.

I bought two Charges last week, one for me and one for the wife. Both of us have been having similar issues with music and/or ringtones randomly not playing on our phones. My wife has missed several calls because the ringtone that she downloaded from Zedge mysteriously stopped working, so the phone acted as if it were on silent mode. I noticed several instances where I can't listen to music on my phone due to a "Error playing the requested track" error within the Google Music app. At first, I thought my problem was due to the fact that I was trying to stream music that I've uploaded, but I was given the same error when I attempted to listen to music stored directly on the SD card.
Thinking that my problem was due to some weird issue with the Google Music app, I tried to play the music on my SD card from the built-in Music Player app and I was quickly prompted with an unsupported file type error. Rebooting both our phones seems to fix the problem, but I've had to do this at least two to three times on my phone, and once on my wife's. It seems that the problem always comes creeping back without warning.
Neither of our phones are rooted, and nothing else has been done to the phone that I can think of that would cause this issue.
In short, music/ringtones/etc. will randomly stop playing regardless of their source (SD card, downloaded, stream). Since the problem is on both of our phones, I'm guessing that this is a common issue on all Droid Charges.
Has anybody else experienced this issue? What are your recommendations on fixing it? Should I just take the phones back to Best Buy and get replacements?
=Edit=
Okay...something is definitely up. I just went to watch a video on the YouTube app, and saw no video. I tried other videos and got the same result. Sure enough, I tried to listen to some music and was given the above mentioned error. What the hell?
I would take them back to Best Buy. Ive never heard of this problem. And if youtube is not playing then there seems to be and underlying problem.
I was having this same problem every so often, typically after having the phone on for a few days without turning it off. I am rooted an running a custom ROM so I thought it might have something to do with that, but obviously that is not the case. I turn my phone off whenever I charge it at night and have not had the problem since doing that. Long story short, I would return the phone if you can, but just turning the phone off and then back on (not rebooting) has fixed the problem for me every time.
Try uninstalling the official twitter app if you have it, reboot, and try again. That usually solves that.

[Q] Flash/youtube video stops working with swap

Running CyanogenMod 6.1.2 - 0.10 (Android 2.2.1+) , with boot2.img and Go Launcher Ex.
Is anybody having trouble playing flash and youtube video with boot2.img or boot5.img?
After a few days without rebooting, neither the youtube app or flash video on browser (stock or miren) would play flash video anymore. In you tube, it would play for 10 seconds, before stopping with an error. In browser, it would say video cannot be played.
Quick reboot (only rebooting the UI) through link2d doesn't fix it. Only a full reboot, either with fastboot boot2.img, or regular reboot would fix it.
I only have this problem running CyanogenMod with fastboot. No swap works fine. Never had this issue with MIUI. I have seen it around 3-4 times for the past 2 weeks.
Maybe my swap partition is corrupted? Or maybe there is a problem with swap handling in CyanogenMod?
Thanks.
Posting what I found in case someone else is hitting the same issue.
I found this. I tried removing twitter and reboot, but I still had the same problem. Then I also removed moboplayer and reinstalled youtube, and the problem went away. I am guessing re-installing youtube fixes the codec previously corrupted by other apps.

Storage issue

A video podcast episode tried to sync on my phone taking with it my last 350MB of storage. I tried deleting it but I seemed to have encountered a bug.
When I check on the device itself the episode isn't there, when I check in my collection it doesn't show as being on the device. However when I go to "Phone" on the Zune software I have the podcast icon showing, the space still being used but no episode to delete
Has anyone had this issue? Is it a case of having to reset my phone for the millionth time?

Major problems with Google Play

Hey guys. So, I got my BPXL about a week ago, and I instantly loved it. The first thing I did was reinstall all apps from my previous phone. All 180 apps. No issues (except for the -504 problems). Two days ago, I was prompted by the Play Store about some updates. I told my phone to update all apps automatically, but there was a list of about ten items that needed to be updated. "okay, whatever." So I initiated the downloads. About two hours later, I realized that in the notification drawer, the download for the very first app in that list was appearing as paused. Return to the Google Play Store, see what's up, and the download bar is just running running running, but never actually showing any download progress. Paused them all, tried to run them one at a time, same problem. Tried to install a new app, same problem. Tried all of Google's troubleshooting steps, same problem. Here's where it gets real fun: Performed factory reset of phone, same problem. Acquired replacement phone from Amazon, SAME PROBLEM.
Apps can be downloaded and installed from the Amazon Appstore, but Amazon's app market couldn't hold a candle to the Google Play Store. I'm totally at the end of my rope. Google doesn't know what to do, Blu doesn't know what to do, and I have no idea what to do. I have no idea what is causing these issues. Anybody had anything similar happen and know what to do?
New here but I've had my Pure XL since December. I've been having the same issue for about a week or so. The only thing I've found that works is to cancel the updates, turn off Wi-Fi and start downloading them again. Of course that uses a lot of data, so it's not really an ideal solution..
and the download bar is just running running running said:
Dear friend i got the same problem. But i was very confused when I when to other WIFI location and suddenly the downloads start working....I change my originally router and seens to fix that..don't know why... but it never happen again...

I actually just got off the phone with Blu CS, and it seems that this issue is common enough that they're rushing out a patch to try and fix it. There's a lot of other broken stuff I hope they patch over too, but in the meantime, being able to download off of Google Play would be a big step forward.
So there it is. Anybody experiencing the issue, wait. That's what they told me, that's all we can do.
Received an OTA update today that appears to have resolved the play store issue.
Blu Pure XL pause download problem *Easy Bypass*
I recently bought a Blu Pure XL, shortly after I rooted it no problem, then I had the store error that everyone else is talking about and people say there was an update released to fix it. Unfortunately when I try to start the OTA says my system is damaged so I downloaded the app: DataEye to see what processes use the internet while downloading and long story short when the download says paused open Dataeye and Toggle data saving mode on then off! Fixes every download that pauses hope this helps!
I try to to update today through wireless update but i only get the message "network connection failed". So i unroot the phone using the the tutorial forum.xda-developers.com/pure-xl/general/twrp-recovery-root-blu-pure-xl-allview-t3269447 by bemolx
it keep saying "network connection failed" on WIFI or 4G, internet is ok and working.
But i notice something weird: I can't set the camera Storage Location to Internal Memory, only to SD card. (Also whatsapp can't receive any media) . I don't know if i did something wrong at the first time when i root the phone or if this is related to the update that i am not able to install. By the way if somebody manage to download this update as a zip and share with the community. ? maybe others are having the same problem?

Missing videos and photos

Hello I have a problem with my HTC U11 build 2.33.401.19.
I noticed that sometimes some photos and some videos disappear from the memory of my phone, as if the file was corrupt.
Yesterday for example I made some videos and some photos and if I open Google Photos I see only a gray preview and I can not open them anymore.
If I open a file manager those videos and those photos do not appear in the list.
I don't know if it is connected, but if I open a file manager I have two DCIM folder with the same files inside, as if it were duplicated.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem?
How can I solve?
Hello,
Has this been an issue with your U11 for awhile or is it a relatively recent problem? I ask because I had the same issue with my U11 only a couple months after I purchased the phone, I've owned mine since July 2017. Do you use the htc app Boost+? What I discovered was everytime I would use Boost+ specifically the cache cleaner function, that is when I would notice missing video files from my phone. Honestly I cannot say for certain that the htc app was casusing this problem, but when I suspected it being the culprit I removed the app from my U11 and have not had anymore problems with missing video files.
Unfortunately now my U11 is dead, will not charge... I replaced the charging port board and still will not power on or take a charge! Been dealing with this problem for about 3 weeks now, VERY FRUSTRATING!
