Changing Region on Samsung Gear Sport R600 to make Samsung Pay work - Samsung Gear Sport

So I purchased a Samsung Gear Sport from New Zealand and brought over to Australia. Samsung Pay was not pre installed or was available on the watch because New Zealand does not have Samsung Pay yet. The Galaxy Apps Store was different as it was referencing the New Zealand Store. I know this post will be helpful to those purchasing Gear Sport on Kogan or internationally as it is cost effective. Here a are some simple instructions by someone that is not a developer to help you change your region without affecting the firmware of the watch.
This is crazy simple and I would like to thank @adfree for all the help provided in another post.

I have decided to make a new post which is simple and targets users who have purchased a watch away from their home country.
Download SDBstarterKidv1 from the following link please:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74585286&postcount=330
Pre Requisites:
Gear: Debugging Mode ON, Bluetooth OFF, Wifi IP address
PC: SDB 2.2.60 Installed
To find the IP address on Gear Sport: Settings > Connections > Wifi > Wifi Networks > [your network] > Scroll down to IP address
From SDBstarterKidv1 double click on 'install.bat'
From the subfolder data\tools double click on 'sdb.exe'
After noting IP address of the Gear Sport, Launch ‘Ansicon.exe’ from sdb_2.2.60_windows-64\data\tools
Type: sdb connect [IP of Gear Sport]
Look at Gear Sport, it will prompt you to accept a message
If you try the sdb connect [IP address] again, it will say "already connected". This is a good sign. Proceed.
Type: sdb shell and Enter
Copy Paste: launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration and Enter
Look at Gear Sport and select region you would like. Watch will Reset and launch as new.
If you can not pair with your phone, remember to unpair your previous Gear Sport from Bluetooth Menu.
Once Gear Sport is launched to home watch face, shut down Gear Sport and switch on again for Samsung Pay to appear. Wait for notification for Samsung Pay on Gear Sport (may take a minute).
Again, huge thanks to this website and @adfree
Cheers

Samsung Pay should appear on your Samsung Gear App on your Samsung phone first. Did this happen? Did you restart your gear sport ? Do you know if XAR has Samsung Pay?

The Samsung gear on the phone is removed and reinstalled. The apple phone is not compatible with gear sport.

Does gear S2 also apply this method, or SDB has other instructions

Is gear s3 OK?

Thank you for the easy solution!
Just to confirm this workaround still works perfectly after an upgrade to 3.0.0.2. I was able to change from an UAE sourced gear sport to BTU (UK).
When the watch resets and sets up Samsung Pay may not appear immediately and the app was not installed on my watch (it also says no payment app installed under NFC). Don't panic!
You just have to wait a while (in my case 30 minutes) before the gear app on my phone picked up Samsung pay and when I clicked it it pushed the watch app installation . From there on, everything worked fine.

I tried this procedure and it worked nicely, except i am in the US and do not see US csc codes on the watch. Is it possible to choose USA csc on the Gear Sport?

USA is XAR
Best Regards

Wow, that was a fast CSC changing! Maaaanyy thanks for the info! Worked perfectly!

Out of curiosity does this invalidate warranty?

Will this work to. Change from china to Nz region? Decidong wether to Grab one of. These ?

Can i do this with ss s7edge?

Copy Paste: launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration and Enter
I followed the steps, the connection between pc and gear sport is successful, however, i fail to launch the app csc with the given command above, it appeared as not a regonisied file or cmd. Anyone can help?

Amazing how easy that was. Works with my Scotiabank Visa. Can't add my Scotiabank Debit though.

No connection with Gear S2 and Note Edge

Unfortunately i don't get any connection with my Gear S2 and my Note edge. I have the Gear Manager from the Samsung App Store and Android 5.0.1 (no root)..
Maybe some of you have the same problem and a solution.
Thanks and sorry for my bad english...

Go to http://apps.samsung.com/Gear and click Samsung device. I think the Gear S2 has a newer Gear manager which is not on Samsungs app store. It should be on Google Play store.

Thank you for your replay. The App in the Play Store is only for non Samsung phones. I can not install this Version on my Note Edge.
The other Version is the same like the App in the Samsung App Store.
I'm having a similar issue on my SM-N9200. No matter what I try when attempting to connect the S2 with gear manager nothing works. From everything I can tell I have the latest version and there are no updates available in the Samsung store, or software updates. Very frustrating.
Okay, and im assuming you have tried to factory reset the Gear S2 and toggle the Bluetooth on and off on your phone? When the gear manager app scans for devices, does your watch show up as discovered? Or does it not show up at all. Can you search for the watch by going to the Bluetooth utility on your watch? I guess the last step would be to contact Samsung support on this issue. It seems like there have been a lot of known bugs since the release of the watch.

I already speak with the samsung support. BUt they know now soluton. The will check my problem and maybe they will fix the bug.
When i scan with bluetooth directly i can find the watch but the gear manager will not find the watch. i also make a factory reset after i check if the watch works with an old LG G2, it does, but not with the note edge.

No, I think the watch is okay because the watch works with the lg g2 and the gear manager for non samsung devices but not with the note edge and the gear manager for galaxy devices.
I think it is a software problem from the gear manager.
Oh yeah, if you can connect with another device then it has to be software.

What Android version and gear manager version do you have?
An update to Gear Manager has been released and the Note Edge can now connect to the Gear S2
And the Play Store update to the Gear app from yesterday has borked my BT connection on my Nexus 5 that I also upgraded to Marshmallow. S2 will no longer connect to Nexus 5.
I can't seem to get my S2 to connect to my LG G3 running 5.1.1 BLisspop.
I think I might just have to return this.
schitt.
Connection to Note 3
I can confirm this does not work on my Note 3 unless I'm running a Touchwiz rom. I had (and loved) the AICP rom and none of these files will help it connect. I get the standard "modified software" message. When I installed the stock rom w/tweaks, it connects fine.
So I couldn't use the "Samsung phone" version of Gear manager because while it's a Samsung phone, it wasn't running Samsung software. But I couldn't use the "Non-Samsung phone" version because it still sees it as a Samsung phone and I get the "incompatible with this device" message.
I have to decide between the AICP rom and my old Gear Live or the touchwiz garbage (w/Nova launcher to hide it) and the Gear S2..
same problem here
Hi Guys,
I have same problem. I got Gear S2 Classic from Korea and it won't connect to my S6 Edge. I downloaded to latest gear manager app version 2.2.15092142 . but it still won't connect and give message "check if your phone is compatible and if the gear manager app needs to be updated, then try again" I have factory reset both the phone and the gear but still same issue.
anyone got a solution?
Thanks

Pairing gear s2 with tab s2 ?

Hi there,
First question :
I'm still wondering why tab s2 is not in the official supported devices list by Samsung?
Second question :
Is there any way to pair the gear s2 with the tab s2?
So far I tried some tutorials in some posts around here, but no luck: gear manager won't detect my gear s2 on my tab s2...I guess its because it's just impossible?
Let me know if there is something else to try
Many thanks!
No chance to make it work together ?! Sad !
Anyway, Merry Christmas to All
I tested on my friend's tab s2. It even did not detect my gear s2 on bluetooth pairing. Really like the tab but not buying it because of this problem

Hi, just to let you know I got it to work! Here is what I did :
Rooted tab s2 t715y
Edited the build prop (via app available on playstore) changed device type to phone and device name to the note 4 model number as this is what the tab s2 basically is
Just by doing this my tablet was able to pair with the watch!
I haven't changed the device type back yet, the only issue at the moment is that the dialer on the tablet isnt visible.
Also I have not been able to use att number sync yet, I will call them in the morning.
Let me know if this works.
I have the att 3g model by the way.
---------- Post added at 05:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:47 AM ----------
Ok so I changed it back to tablet mode and everything is working normally. I'm getting notifications etc and my tab s2 dialer is working fine too.
And the Gear Manager app on the tab recognizes your watch?
Tab S2 (T817T) paired connected to Gear S2
I also have rooted my Tab S2 (T817T) and paired and connected it to my Gear S2 Watch. The tablet recognizes the watch and the GearApp recognizes and connects to it as well. However, under the Notifications sections (notifications to be sent to watch) "messages" is not available as an option to forward messages from my tablet's native message app to the phone. I also cannot connect to the Gear App store to download and install apps from the tablet to the watch. Have you experienced this and found a fix?
It needs to be rooted.
What needs to be rooted? Are you saying the watch needs to be rooted?
biggboii: yes it is working without any issues other than the limitations of tizen. I can leave my tablet at home and still get texts and whatsapp messages on my watch. I havent been able to use ATT's "number sync' which basically sounds like call forwarding . I still havent had time to try setting call forwarding manually.
The Tab s2 needs to be rooted.
i can access the gear app store , it does crash on the first try every now and then.
As for messages , I can receive and send text messages as well as whatsapp messages through a bluetooth connection and 3G remote connection.
I did not do anything different then what I mentioned above , it just seems to work. again my watch is the ATT version so I dont know if things are different with the bluetooth version.
the gear app is very limiting though. I wish there was a way to change the watch's OS to android.
can't get it to work, gear manager keep saying device not found
any suggestions?

do you have the att version of the watch?
I have a rooted T715Y and did the things I mentioned in the post above and it worked.
make sure your tablet is rooted and that you change the model to that of a note 4 (using a build prop editor)
then make sure you change the "device type" from tablet to phone.
thats all I did and after the watch was synced up with the tablet I changed the settings back.
I also can't connect my GearS3 with my TabS2. Send numorous emails to Samsung, and so far their responses are dissapointing. Feel cheated. This two devices are supposedly their flagship products.

Hi there,
just new to this forums.
Do you use the standard Samsung Software to connect your Gear S3 to the phone or some third party tools?
I tried to sync a Gear fit2 with the samsung gear software.. The devices connect but no software downloads can be done. Maybe this has something to do with missing software rights?
Thank you for a quick heads up.

I have both, and they work fine until I move away from my phone and they disconnect. My issue is that when I go back close to my phone, sometimes they don't reconnect automatically.
Not sure if it's something I need to change in phone's settings?
It wasn't happening with the watch and my old Galaxy S4...
The reconnection issue is something that I had using my S3 note and the old Gear1.
Was fixed with the newest software versions.
Which software components do you use connectiong your Gear S3 to the Mi5?

I tried pair with huawei honor, android 6. The Gear app informed, that need install S plugin and Samsung Accessory Service. Gear app worked very well.
So, i tried manually install to my Mi5 the needed software too.
I downloaded app, plugin and some "Samsung Accessory Service". The app find the watch, but when i try to connect. Itt has some error and app is close. "Unfortunately, Samsung Gear has stopped."

Samsung Pay not found on Gear S2 Classic SM-R732

I just got this watch yesterday and I am trying to set up Samsung Pay on it. As far as I know it is the US Version unless the Amazon seller lied. I am in the USA with a Galaxy Note 4 (6.0.1) paired, and when I turn on NFC in connections on the watch, and go to tap and pay, it says "no installed payment apps." I have tried installing Samsung Pay for Gear apks from online that all gave me the error "Unable to continue using Samsung Pay. Your gear may not be supported." Is there any way that anyone knows to get this working? Holding down the back button on the watch does nothing. I have checked for updates within the Gear app and it says I am up to date, yet there is no "Samsung Pay" section in the settings side of my Gear Manager app.
From Gear App itself:
Samsung Gear App Version: 2.2.17022862
Gear S Plugin Version: 2.2.03.17051161
From the Gear:
Tizen 2.3.2.2
Software R732...EQC1
Knox 2.0
From phone's app manager:
Samsung Accessory Service 3.1.41_170404
SASystemProviders 2.3.99
Are there other application dependencies that I may need to update? When I was setting up the watch it seemed to have trouble so I had to update everything from apk's online, also I had a Gear 2 Neo before this.
The SPay versions I tried were 1.2 and 1.4 and I tried installing the SPay Framework 2.7
The Samsung Pay app doesn't show up in the Google Play Store or Galaxy Store.
I've been reading the forums and it appears as though SPay got off to a rocky start for Gear S2, is it still like that?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In my Gear S2 I did not need to install any APK. Just click on the "Samsung Pay" option in the Gear app for smartphone and it automatically downloaded the applications and installed them automatically.
I have a Gear S2 3G, Tizen 2.3.2.1 and I live in Brazil and I did not have any problems.

No it should be all US but I would like to verify with the serial number or something but I don't know how
Don't know if this is resolved, but it could be that the SPay only works when connected to an SPay compatible phone. I have been using it since the Note5 (now have an S8) with no issues, other than the rocky start of setting up cards. There is a separate app in the galaxy store that updates the gear SPay and phone SPay. Everytime there is an update to SPay, I get a download for my gear and a download for my phone. If you can't find it in the galaxy store, it may be because the phone is not supported.

See that's what I thought, but that was when I had my Galaxy Note 4. Now I've upgraded to a Galaxy S8+ (unlocked USA version) so I should have no issues. Maybe resetting the Gear S2 in some way will fix it, I'll have to try. It did do a "light reset" when I connected it to my new phone. Thanks for the input though!
UPDATE
A factory reset did not fix the issue. Still unresolved

No I contacted samsung support and they had no clue, I'm thinking they must have given me the international version on Amazon
I have US Gear S2 Classic SM-R732. FW R732XXU2EQH1, Tizen 2.3.2.2.
Samsung pay works fine. Both with Note 4, Note 5 and Note 8. In fact it also works without phone present, just tap and pay just wearing your watch (and some clothes ?)
Activation of Samsung Pay is to long press top button... Doing so for the first time it asks you to do necessary steps to activate Samsung Pay... then add cards... ready.
Suggest to try this first!
NFC of phone is not playing a part at all.
Samsung Pay also worked with two previous FW versions.

Yes the issue here is that long pressing the button does not open anything, I'm on the same firmware version.
Tizen version nor Model Name nor Firmware Version nor CSC Version is the "magic" identification part...
It is simple active CSC/ Sales Code on device... Factory written... and hidden for normal End User... no idea why...
Example:
Code:
DBT for Germany
XAR for US
You could identify your active Sales Code via Tool SDB for instance... alternate way is to check few files from Gear S Plugin... on Android handset...
In THEORY it is possible to force SPay... but dangerous sideeffects possible...
Example for 1 forced way to enable SPay... look at Video:

Here you can see, how 1 user checked his active CSC... Sales Code... few Screenshots visible... maybe then more clear...:

I have a S2 Sport and a Galaxy S7 both bought in the U.S but I live in Brazil.
Samsung pay works fine on the S7, but doesnt show up on gear manager.
Long pressing the back button on the gear does nothing.
i found an apk "Samsung pay for gear plugin" online and installed it, but when I opened said my gear was not found or not compatible

Samsung Gear Sport remote connection and OnePlus

Hello all,
do you know whether the 'remote connection' is only for users that have Galaxy phones?
I bought a Samsung gear sport and I'm trying to remotely connect to my phone (via wifi), but with no success. I use OnePlus 3 with the latest official ROM (Oreo).
I have tried to connect from my watch remotely to my phone many times, but it is impossible. I know that the watch connects to the wifi and gets internet access, since I downloaded a watch face from the Galaxy app store with the watch connected only to the wifi.
I was convinced that I was doing something wrong, but when I did a reset to my watch and then connected it to a friend's Galaxy S8, the watch connected remotely with no problem.
This makes me think that it is something on the OnePlus ROM that prevents the watch to connect to my OnePlus 3 remotely?
has anyone (with a non-samsung phone) managed to successfully connect remotely via wifi?
I hope this function is not only for Galaxy users
I was having the same problem with my One Plus 3T, so I messaged Samsung and got this response.

I didn't really feel like that would do anything for me since I thought it sounded like they thought I was using a Samsung phone.
But I later tried turning on Bluetooth on my gear sport, then I tried pairing it with my One Plus 3T like I would any other Bluetooth device. To my surprise, it was able to find the watch. Afterwards, I then went into the Samsung Gear app and tried the setup again and this time it found the watch pretty much instantly.
I don't know if this will work for you but I can only hope
EDIT:
Also I'm using the latest open beta version of Oxygen OS.
By 'remote connection' do you mean the automatic connection between the watch and phone which shares notifications?
If so then yea, I have a Nexus 6p and it connects fine. As the above poster noted you do have to have the bluetooth on and pair it with the watch manually during the set up.
