I'm not sure when, or why, but the face recognition in the stock gallery is no longer working. And the "related images" function doesn't show up either. Is it working for anyone else? Or does anyone know how to fix? I'm guessing it's sometime after updating to Nougat but I'm not completely sure.
Bump.

Hey guys,
Been digging around a bit for a solution but haven't found anything so far...
Anyway, HDR is normally set to "auto" in the camera app. Over the past few days, whenever the HDR is used if auto decides to use it or if it is manually selected) it turns everything an extremely blue hue. I initially thought it was taking a negative image but green sections still appear OK.
Any ideas how to stop it doing that, while still being able to use HDR? The phone isn't rooted, so all I've been able to do without a full reset is clear settings of the camera app.
And it just seems to be Samsung's app - Snapchat and Instagram work fine.
If anyone has any ideas let me know
Just a securiy patch getting ready for 7.0.1
Only seeing BPI3 with the Verizon Upgrade Assistant Software on my Note 5 on the TotalWireless network. Updating now, maybe BPJ3 will show up once I finish this update.
EDIT:Wow, something is up, I just realized that I participated in the BPI3 update thread, now I'm wondering why it said I needed that update again, could have sworn I was already on it...Will check it out once the "upgrade" it is doing finishes. :?
EDIT2: It actually was BPJ3 that it upgraded to, I have the November 1 security patch now. Seems like the Upgrade Assistant Software is downloading something else now as well. It's about 30% done.
EDIT3: Guess it was a glitch of some sort, it downloaded the BPJ3 software twice, and now says I'm up to date. That was odd. Oh well, bring on 7.x.x!
Anyone has camera problems after the update? My pictures taken after the update in landscape mode are showing in protraits. On google photos they are also displayed in the wrong rotation. So the problem should be the camera not gallery. Really annoying...

Same on my phone, they do not automatically rotate. I took a video in landscape mode and copied it to a PC but it played back in VLC as portrait. The update also changed my brightness settings. I don't check auto anymore because it is always too dark.
Hi, it appears that recently the gravity sensor in my Nexus 5 stopped working.
At least it is what it seems by using sensor testing apps. And this makes it impossible for the phone to get its orientation (compass is not working).
Screen rotation is still working fine though.
Here is what happened exactly: not long ago I was using Google Maps, but the phone was a bit sluggish so I decided to reboot it.
After rebooting I opened Google Maps again and immediately noticed that the orientation indicator was missing (the blue "beam"), while it was present before the reboot. But I didn't care about it, and just thought that the compass needed re-calibration.
After a few days the orientation indicator was still missing, and the phone never asked me to re-calibrate, as it used to do before instead.
Then one day I launched Google Sky Map, and noticed that the view does not rotate automatically.
So I fired up a sensor test app I had installed (asd.vector.sensor), and no data is displayed for the Gravity sensor. Also orientation is not displayed and the info says that the gravity sensor is used to compute orientation, too.
Other sensors are ok, and as I already wrote screen rotation still works great.
Any clues about this issue? Did anyone ever experience this?
I'm afraid a system restore would not help...
I'm using Resurrection Remix ROM, Android 6.0.1.
Thanks.
If the problem exists on a stock ROM, it could be a hardware fault.

Ok yes, but I still do not know if it exists on a stock ROM.
Taking it the other way around... Do you think there is real possibility that it is a software fault?
I mean: did it ever occur to anyone? Is there really any hope that resetting my phone to stock will fix this?
I HATE having to reset my phone...
Thank you.
I stopped using custom roms a while ago because of minor problems that would suddenly appear.
I don't think there is a way to really tell if it is software or hardware unless you reset or use a stock ROM.

Well, that's a little hope at least.
I will need to find some time to re-stock my Nexus and try.
Thanks .
Ok, I restored the phone to stock and all sensors work again now!
Thanks audit13 for pushing me in that direction .
That's great that it was a software bug in the custom ROM.
Now you get to hunt for a custom ROM that works with a minimal or zero number of issues
Hi, the gyroscope of my zenfone 4 max is not working. Apps such as sensorbox detects a "software gyroscope" sensor in the device, but don't get any data from it.
Anyone else having the same problem? Any ideas to fix this? I'm hoping it's not a hardware problem.
Many thanks.
Sorry but I'm a bit naive with the gyroscope test. How should i know of it is working or not? I tried testing it and it just keeps reading. There is no result showing. So either I click pass or fail button.
Does this test has something to do with the autorotate? Because I'm having sensitivity issues with autorotation. It wasn't on but when I play videos and tilt them, it activates.
Has anyone else had issues with face unlock since the update?
I updated to software 13.1.21 and face unlock stopped working. I reset the device and now when you try to set up face unlock, it tells me to fold the phone, even if closed (see pic)
The front selfie camera still works so assuming it must be a software fault so does anyone else have the same issue?
No. My face unlock and fingerprint unlock both survived the update and continued working as before. The only oddity I noticed is that now if I tell Google Assistant to send a message or make a call on the unfolded screen it must think the phone is a tablet and says "sorry, I can't send messages or make calls yet". If I fold the phone it works fine.
