Gyroscope not working - Asus ZenFone 4 Max Questions & Answers

Hi, the gyroscope of my zenfone 4 max is not working. Apps such as sensorbox detects a "software gyroscope" sensor in the device, but don't get any data from it.
Anyone else having the same problem? Any ideas to fix this? I'm hoping it's not a hardware problem.
Many thanks.

Sorry but I'm a bit naive with the gyroscope test. How should i know of it is working or not? I tried testing it and it just keeps reading. There is no result showing. So either I click pass or fail button.
Does this test has something to do with the autorotate? Because I'm having sensitivity issues with autorotation. It wasn't on but when I play videos and tilt them, it activates.

[Q] Proximity Sensor Issue

My nexus s' proximity sensors have stopped working. I am rooted and running aokpcb rom, I'm wondering if this is a hardware problem or something with the rom? The screen won't turn off when answering / making a call when the phone is brought up to my ear. I also tried using the app prox pro, and that wouldn't work either. If anyone knows a fix or what the problem is, that would be great.
Backup your current ROM , wipe and install a Stock ROM.
Issue solved --> Rom Issue
Issue unsolved --> hardware issue
Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestion, and the problem wasnt fixed with wiping and installing a stock rom. But, with experimentation, I installed the app "Prox Pro" and whenever I would turn it on, it would execute the command that was specified for when the phone was "flat". So, when realising this, I am assuming that my phone developed some sort of calibration problem with the sensors. All in all, I am wondering if there is a way that I can re-calibrate my proximity sensor so that they work properly. Thank you.
Could that just be the default for the phone if it's not getting a reading?
I don't think its the default. The sensors always worked fine up until sometime last week.
I meant a default if there is no signal or an error, which is what it currently looks like.
Oh, okay, ya that could be it. Do you have any idea how to change it? I also realised that the light sensor isn't working either, when on auto brightness, the screen will always be dim, no matter how bright it is outside. If you, or anyone else has a solution, I will open up my phone and check to see if there are any connection issues or something like that .

Proximity sensor stops working some time after a reboot

Hey,
I have a problem - my proximity sensor stops working some time after a reboot. Straight after a reboot is works just fine. So this is not hardware issue I think.
But after a while it freezes at some level, and does not work. So sometimes it reports 5 cm (far) independently on being covered or not, sometimes is reports 0 cm (close) independently on being covered or not.
I did not perform factory reset yet. Does anyone have any idea on what might be causing this problem?
Huge thanks in advance
Tested with a few hours in between and it can still sense if it's covered or not so it seem to be working fine for me.

There is an update. It appears that there are some system apps that need to have their Battery Optimisation disabled. I will try to narrow down the list, as I have mixed success with that so far. I really hoped someone here could help me with that

Fingerprint sensor stop working from nowhere

Hello, today I was using my phone with no problem. Suddenly it got stuck and I had to reboot it. Okay, then the fingerprint sensor stops working, it does not appear in the settings either, like the phone doesn't have a sensor at all. I don't understand. Looking for a solution a lot of people had the same problem and a hard reset didn't solve their problem.
Anyone knows a solution? I getting tired of Motorola.

Asking for a favor from anyone in the Zenfone 7/7 Pro community

Hey! I'd like to ask a favor from someone with a Zenfone 7 in their hands. Could you tell me the driver name of your proximity sensor? You can check it by using Sensor Box (free on the playstore).
I'm asking for this because it seems my phone doesn't even recognise the driver and it just displays as ASUS Proximity Sensor, opposedly to other sensors that display their true name. Maybe I'm tripping and that's just it's real name, but I'm almost sure it had a different name before the sensor started malfunctioning.
I'll attach a couple screens. Thank you in advance.
Here's some screenshots from a borrowed Zenfone 7 Pro, as you can see it's named the same.
To be sure we don't suffer the same fate I did some tests to confirm that sensor is working.
@zcrubby Thank you! Indeed your sensor works well. I'll keep trying to figure out where to find the root folder of the proximity sensor driver to disable it, since I was able to get sensor disabler functioning but didn't do the trick with the proximity sensor. Would you let me know if you know something? Much appreciated!

Any luck in disabling the proximity sensor? I have a strange bug wherein every restart of the device causes the first instance of the camera to flip upside down and come up with the camera obstruction error. But once you click ok several times it's fine.
