Bad bluetooth audio quality when not using aptX (HD) - HTC U11+ Questions & Answers

Hi there,
has anyone else quality issues with bluetooth audio? When not using aptX or aptX HD, music sounds like it only had a bitrate of 64kbps. Really bad. Tested this with two car stereos and a bluetooth speaker. However when listening to music with an aptX (HD) enabled device, it sounds perfectly fine. With my old LG G4 I didn't have these problems using the same devices.
I also tried changing bluetooth settings in developer options, but that didn't change anything.
I'm currently on TW 1.24.709.7
Greetings

[Q] Bluetooth Audio Quality

Question Bluetooth Audio Quality
Does anyone have experience with how the audio sounds when connected via bluetooth? Is it as good as coming from the phone speakers? does the software allow to equalize the output? looking for a phone just for my car that works good with bluetooth, does not cost that much and has equalizing software built in... My personal phone now is a Note 5 but damn SoundAlive+ crashes when using Google Play Music and turning off the equalization sounds horrible...

BT good for me. Viper4android Works great for eq.
Bluetooth is fine. Its HQ SBC. No Apt-X support. Only EQ available is the terrible JBL "enhancement". Luckily it can be turned off.

Miserable Bluetooth Audio Quality

Hello,
I have a relatively severe issue with the Bluetooth audio quality on my phone. It sounds pretty much exactly like 64kbits MP3, you can especially hear it in the high frequencies. It's somehow distorted and unclear and extremely annoying as it ruins the experience totally. Everyone who heard sound over my Bluetooth devices has heard this.
The weird thing: I experienced this with both my Galaxy S5 (G900F) and my Galaxy S6 (G920F) and every single Bluetooth device that is connected to them. I tried it with my Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter, Denon AVR X1100W, Logitech Boombox and my car stereo Kennwood KDC-BT35U. The audio quality is always the same.
However, with my Nexus 5, my Galaxy Tab S8.4 and my Laptop, the audio quality over Bluetooth is great! Also, if I use the headphone jack on my Galaxys, it sounds just fine. I mostly use Spotify and Google Play Music, but the problem is not there since it sounds great when using a cord.
I asked the Samsung Support about this and of course they didn't know anything. They offered replacing the device but I don't think that this makes a difference since I had the same problem on my Galaxy.
Now I am asking everyone else who has the Galaxy S5 or S6, have you experienced something like this? Any solutions? It is very frustrating.
I just solved this mystery. For a long time I have been using the Mi Fitness Band, and I was wearing it all the time, so whenever that is connected to the phone the audio quality gets very bad. At least I know what it is now!
Same here!
If my Mi Band 2 is paired in the Mi Fit app, the audio quality of ANY connected bluetooth device (aux speaker, car audio etc.) is distorted (especially high sounds)
I reinsatlled the Mi Fit app, even reseted the whole phone, nothing changes. Only if I unpair the Mi Band in the mi fit app, is the bluetooth audio quality ok.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Android 6.0.1
Xiaomi Mi Band 2 firmware V1.0.1.34
Good audio quality at Bluetooth playback
Guys,
I experienced the same when i playback via Bluetooth in my car. Since i installed Poweramp beta, you can choose some different type of audio playback quality. I set mine at 24 bit playback, 192 khz. I can hear some slight difference but i think you can not expect much of it.
Second option might be Viper4android and Dolby Atmos. These will increase earsgasm at your desire.
Give it a try and report feedback!
Here is a screenshot of it.
Poweramp has unbelivable awesome effects, but it does not eliminate the base problem: miband (or any Bluetooth LE stuff?) affects the bluetooth audio transmission.

That is true and sadly a known problem of android in general. See http://www.androidauthority.com/android-wear-ruining-bluetooth-speaker-headset-sound-656300/
Solution
I might have a solution for some of you. Good luck.
Find it in my reddit post. I can't post URL's because i am new here. I only created this account for sharing the solution.

Usb audio routing in zhn2kas1kn

Hi guys, I need a little help and also some advice. I am a big audiophile but on a tight budget so I got my self 2 headphones - Audio Techinca ATH - M50x Limited Edition & Audio Techinca ATM - IM70 and also a fiio K1 usb DAC. The DAC works fine when used with the laptop but when I plug it on my OnePlus One ( running on stock ZNH2KAS1KN rooted ), I only get some hissing and a click sound on my headphones. I have tried enabling and disabling audio routing via USB in the developer settings and also many players like Onkyo HiFi player, Neutron, Jet Audio Plus etc but none work. Any advice how can I fix this problem? Also how many other people think they are not satisfied with the playback quality and have added a DAC or are planning to add one soon?

AptX/AptX HD Codecs

I'm not a developer or a modder, but I was hoping someone could help with some information, since I was steered here on a search.
I have a Moto Z play running Oreo, which I discovered has the ability to use AptX HD in the Developer Options. When I would try and select AptX or AptX HD in the options, it would just revert back to SBC. I believe I discovered that the phone's system automatically chooses the Bluetooth Codec, depending on the connected device.
I just got a Bluetooth receiver to integrate with my home stereo. The Bluetooth receiver can handle AptX HD, and has indicator lights for what it is receiving.
I played around a bit with the setup using the Amazon Music App as the source on my phone. The indicator on the receiver had AptX lit up. I went to Developer Options on my phone and it showed AptX was the Codec. However, if I ticked the AptX HD in the Developer Options on my phone, it continued in AptX.
Can someone explain why the phone will not transmit with AptX HD? Is it because that is the highest rate Amazon Music App supports? If I use a different music player app on my phone will I be able to utilize the AptX HD Codec?
Thanks for the info. I like learning and I'm hoping to be able to get the best quality sound to my HiFi through Bluetooth.

Bluetooth Headphones and AptX

Can someone help me understand AptX and audio latency? I bought a pair of BT headphones to game with on the 8T. I originally thought BT 5.x was supposed to help with audio latency, but it does not. From what I was told, I needed AptX support. I purchased another set of headphones with BT 5.x and AptX support, but I was still getting noticeable audio lag when gaming. With either headphones, I do not notice latency when watching YouTube or something like a movie on Netflix.
Check headphones that have game mode that can be turned on (with low latency).
