I need help fixing my GPS on the galaxy A7 2016 - General Questions and Answers

I am using the Samsung galaxy A7 2016 edition and the phone has gone through a couple of drops. Whenever I dropped the phone, the GPS seems to stop working properly and won't fix on a satellite. When I factory reset my phone, it works properly again. I've dropped my phone again and the GPS isn't working again. Is there any other way other than factory reseting my phone that can fix this? My phone isn't rooted.

Hello
Yes you shouldn,t have this problem in the future. If this occurs again you have to fix hardware GPS antenna.
Sorry for the delay

Galaxy ACE Wont boot :[

I have Galaxy ace
I wanted to switch to 2.3.3, so I downloaded the software ROM manager did flash. He asked me to pick and chose just Pelephone Pelephone, he wrote that he succeeded. After Flash went to Backup (backup), I clicked, boom turned off. I gave him a minute or two That's it.
BY THE WAY, you know what this Emergency MOD? Computer can recognize it is about this situation.
help?plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
it seems that you tried to show some intelligence in flashing rom
who said you to flash with rom manager when the site clearly stated that you have to use odin to flash rom.
the only thing now you can try is putting you phone in download mode and flash with odin and follow the flash guide directions below-
1) Turn off your phone
2) Remove your SIM Card and SD Card
3) Extract previously downloaded firmware
4) Open ODIN 4.38 on your PC
5) Select from extracted archive: OPS, Boot, Phone, PDA, CSC (leave EFS and One Package empty)
Select OPS file : Cooper_v1.0.ops in his field.
Click BOOT button and select: APBOOT_S5830xxxxx_xxx...._user_low_true.tar.md5
Click Phone button and select: MODEM_S5830xxxxx_xxx...._REV03.tar.md5
Click PDA button and select: CODE_S5830xxxxx_xxx...._REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
Click CSC button and select: CSC_S5830xxxxxx_xxx......_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
6) Connect your phone via USB into PC
7) When the screen is turned on hold POWER+VOLUME DOWN+HOME and wait until the phone enters the Download Mode
8) If ODIN detected and recognised your phone should light up the first square to the left side
9) Press "Start" button and wait, the process should take 5-10 minutes
10) If all goes well your phone should reboot automatically
11) Square should change the color to blue and display "PASS" it means that flashing process was successful and we have the newest firmware
12) Disconnect your phone
13) Turn off your phone
14) Insert your SIM Card and SD Card again
15) Turn on your phone
16) Now you have the newest firmware!

Samsung Galaxy Ace Wont Boot!!
when i press the power button of my galaxy ace, baring in mind the battery has charge, the empty battery indicator comes up and then the phones turns off straight away. i have tried flashing different versions of android hoping it was a buggy firmware but no luck. this also happens when plugging the phone into an ac power supply. any help?????????
If you cannot access the download mode or the recovery mode then your phone is bricked. All what you can do is go to the service center and pull up a nice story about how it happened while you were sleeping. If you are lucky enough, you will get a replacement.
Btw WRONG THREAD. THERE IS A SEPARATE ONE FOR THE ACE.

Same problem here, only I use Ubuntu 12 and was wondering if there is a way of re-flashing using download mode and Ubunu?

[Q] samsung i9003 unable to factory reset and boot loop

hi. my phone is samsung i9003. already rooted and upgraded to GB almost a year ago without any problem.
recently, it started rebooting on its own at first, i thought maybe it got a virus so I started uninstalling apps but it would reboot again. the apps I uninstalled are back again but the phone is saying error and I need to force close the apps. I did factory reset (vol down+ ok + power) but stil the same. I flashed it to another firmware thinking it will turn out ok but it got worse, set up wizard error and if i flash another firmware its the kernel error message. I read that its probably the internal sd that got fried and im better off buying a new one. is there any solution to this? thanks!

If your problem solved, I advise you to Install DDMF1 after installing XXKPE (DDMF1 is smoother and better than all the other stock roms)
Download DDMF1 from here (thanks to karthik gowtham for the link)
Follow the value pack installation instructions.

Fix For Freezing After 4.4.2 Update

I've seen quite a few posts of people with freezing after installing 4.4.2 no matter what they do and both myself and a friend have been at the mercy of this - myself with a custom rom and my friend with the Samsung OTA update.
From what I remember from back in the HD2 days with similar symptoms it's related to the baseband/modem - a check of both her phone and mine showed the baseband was incorrect for the ROM and updating it resolved the issue.
The following guide will flash the latest stock, unrooted, NB4 ROM with a matching modem/baseband.
Whilst it shouldn't affect Knox as everything is official signed files (and Knox is fine on my friends phone after I did this procedure), I take no responsibility for your own Knox status.
***THIS *SHOULDN'T* AFFECT KNOX IN ANY WAY AS YOU ARE ONLY FLASHING SIGNED STOCK SAMSUNG STUFF***
First off, backup anything on the phone you want to keep and download the following then extract them all to the same folder:
Samsung USB Drivers - http://developer.samsung.com/android...er-for-Windows
Odin - http://uploaded.net/file/hwtdrpll
Latest 4.4.2 Firmware - https://mega.co.nz/#!QVwlVDgJ!QyAxmD...TVvdM07LOs0V10
PIT File for 4.4.2 Firmware - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...9&postcount=77
NB1 Modem Firmware - https://mega.co.nz/#!JJBglRDY!ZT5SkT...4obRSKpB4B8NB1
1) Install Samsung Drivers
2) On your phone go Settings --> General --> About and keep tapping "Build Number" until it says developer mode enabled.
3) Go back to Settings --> General and tap Developer Options.
4) Tick enable "USB Debugging" then plug the phone into your computer.
5) Push and hold Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button all at the same time - hold until it goes black and vibrates indicating it
rebooted. Once it vibrates, release the power button but keep the other two held down - when you get the prompt on the screen press Volume Up - this will put the phone into Odin mode.
6) On the computer, right click Odin and click "Run as Administrator"
7) Click the button labelled PIT and select the file "My_N9005.pit"
8) Click the button labelled AP and select the file labelled "N9005XXUENB4_N9005DBTENB1_N9005XXUENB1_HOME.tar.m d5"
9) Make sure Re-Partition is ticked and click start.
10) When it finishes your phone will reboot - once you see the Samsung Logo, put the phone back into Odin Mode by pushing and holding Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button again, same as last time. Don't close Odin just yet.
12) In Odin, click Reset and then click the button labelled AP and select the file called "N9005XXUENB3_Modem-XXUENB1-LTE.tar.md5"
13) Click Start
14) When it finishes it should reboot. Dont panic about your phone appearing german, you can change the language right at the start on the first screen
***Optional Steps***
If your phone doesn't boot still, do the following:
1) Hold down Volume Up + Home Button + Power until it reboots, then release the power button keeping the other two held down (Basically the same as Odin mode except Volume Up instead of Volume Down).
2) You should now be in recovery - ignore any errors. Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset then Wipe Cache Partition - you don't need to reboot in between.
3) Once that's done, reboot and you should be up and running fine. If it still hasn't booted after 10 mins at this point, it's the phone itself most likely.
hi what is the password for download.. mega is asking for decryption key...

You could try flashing stock 6.0.1 firmware doing the following:
1) Find your firmware here ( http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G920F/) and download the correct one. (Extract to desktop after)
2) Download Odin 3.10.7 ( http://odindownload.com/ ) and open.
3) Click 'AP' and select the firmware you downloaded (May take a few minutes for it to load)
4) Turn phone off, put into download mode (Hold Volume down, Home button and Power button) and continue
5) Connect phone to laptop (while in download mode) and when it says 'Added' in Odin, click start.
Only solution I could think of to fixing your problem, remember to back up all data if you're going to flash.
Also clear cache before flashing firmware. (Phone off, hold volume up and power) and select the option, then go ahead and do your thing

I had to flash 6.0.1 for my UK unlocked phone and all went well, try the same firmware I used: (If your phone is UK and unlocked):
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/66426/G920FXXU3DPBG_G920FBTU3DPB1_BTU/, BUT without the pit file, when I messed my phone up, I downloaded the firmware only from this link, just one file, and flashed it without pit or anything else (and everything went perfect). Might be able to help you too, if not then I'm not sure what else to do
EDIT: Also, after flashing and everything is done, you MAY have to turn on using safe mode (only on first time), I had to as it wouldn't go past the samsung logo first time after flashing. Phone does NOT actually go into safe mode, but gets it to boot correctly (Not sure why, or how it worked after, but it did)

Well if you've flashed and the firmware boots up fine, then just ignore the last part.
If not, and you get the same problem as me:
Make sure phone is off. turn on as normal (but while holding the volume down button until phone fully boots), do NOT hold the power button all the way though, just volume down

[Completed] Samsung Galaxy SM-J100H - Can I fix this?

Hello,
My friend gave me a Samsung Galaxy SM-J100H because it wouldn't go past the Samsung Logo so I tried to root it. I used Odin and everything seemed to be going well until it restarted. When it restarted it said there was a problem with the USB connection. A window appeared with 3 different device drivers and the first two checked with a green tick and the 3rd the Samsung one gave me a red cross. I quickly tried to reinstall the USB driver but to no avail.
Now, I can't get into the Power+Home+Volume Up menu, all I can get is the Power+Home+Volume Down to work which brings up Press Volume Up to Continue. When I do that, even without the USB plugged in it just says Downloading.... Do not turn off target!! I left this overnight in case it somehow cached the root but to no avail.
Have I bricked it totally? Is there any way I can recover this? Is there a program that will wipe everything completely so I can start from Scratch? I refuse to believe that I can't solve a software issue with software. Is there something in the hardware I can do that would wipe everything like using a Jumper to clear the CMOS and BIOS for a PC, is there anything like that I could do? I know there would be any jumpers but maybe connecting certain connections it could effectively wipe it?
Even when I try to start again with Odin I can't since it will just go straight to Downloading.... Do not turn off target!! as soon as I press Volume Up.
Is there ANYTHING I can do?
Hi there and welcome to assist,
If you can enter in download mode using combo Power+Home+Volume Down then you can flash stock firmware. Search with google for this firmware and flash thru Odin.
Flashing instructions:
 Extract (unzip) the firmware file
 Download Odin v3.11.1
 Extract Odin ZIP file
 Open Odin v3.11.1
 Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
 Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
 Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
 Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
 Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
