Hello, im new here and need assist
I bought my s8+ 2 months ago and i just realize that i have a strange s8+. Ilive in Indonesia.
My phone is G955U, but PDA and CSC version is G9550 (as it seen in phone info) with Hongkong CSC
Everthing is working perfect but, i didn't get any update for my s8+. The latest security patch in my phone is August 2017
The store when i bought this phone is no longer exist so i can't ask them to update my phone.
If possible, what should i do to recieve OTA updates?
Or which Firmware is suitable if i need to manually flash via Odin?
Thank you in advance

some one flashed a US model for use somewhere else. Is normally the case here. I woud leave it be If it is working well. Trying updates sometimes I have seen cause issues signal wise. I would check IMEI and see what it pulls up for sure to make sure the model before anything.

Just received an unbranded new 920F that is on C0I9 firmware and appears to be from the UAE. Sammobile shows a QOLK from TIM Italy dated Jan 4 2016.
What is the latest firmware I need without getting carrier specific bloat installed (if possible). I don't want UAE firmware.
Thanks!

Thanks.. Is this branded to a French network with boot logo and bloatware? I'm so confused with with these international versions. Also, how will future updates be delivered? I'm on AT&T.

Hi. Yeah...I'm using international versions now as well. You can get updates via Kies...but I've noticed some regions get updates faster and at different times. I've found just keep track of unbranded and Odin them when u feel like upgrading. My phone was originally UAE...I just turned it into DDE (German) OK2 firmware. Runs great....ZERO bloat. It's awesome. I'm on TMO
France XEF gets fast updates trust me, and about bloadtwares it's good enough for me so is for u i hope, and no special boot logo only the original
cheers
I am unable to flash any firmware with odin without error, can you help?
A friend brought me an S8-G950U Snapdragon version and I do not have the ability to get an att chip to update de firmware because I live in Argentina. I´m on G950USQUAQGL (August 1, 2017) and de software provider says ATT/ATT/ATT. Is there any way to update the firmware including Oreo?
I'm sorry but the more I read the more I get confused.

I don't see any ATT ROMs for the S8 SM-G950U listed in SamMobile. However, I do see ATT ROMs under SM-G950U1. But isn't the U1 the unlocked USA version of the S8?

Did you even find any ROMS for the S8 SM-G950U? I'm having the same issue with not seeing any AT&T options on SamMobile.
I'm facing same problem too. ATT does not release its stock firmwares quite often. However find below May,2018 patch wity Oreo. Waiting for such stock firmware for Pie.

Hi guys you can flash any firmware G950U from Sam mobile it work because these are multi csc.
Tested in my unlocked s8 G950U.
Sam Mobile seems to have disabled their free download option (possibly in maintenance). Anyone has a link the latest Pie stock with July 1 patch level (AT&T) and can share please?
I think the OP (and myself) looking for this one - https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tut...59?make=Samsung&model=SamsungG955U&gsi=x6lhdu
Edit:
1. Here is the Samsung Fan Club link to the latest (G950USQS6DSG4, as of 8/18) AT&T ROM (free fast download) - contains T-Mo User data, use the one from below

Hello good people of the XDA forums,
I live in Canada and recently ordered a Galaxy A51 off of Amazon, only to find out it is apparently the Latin American version of the SM-A515F variant. Using my Canadian sim card, will I be able to get get OTA updates on this phone from Samsung or not? If it comes to it at the end of the day, I suppose I could live with manually updating with Odin (how that works I have yet to find out), but I'd definitely not prefer it. As of this moment I'm still stuck with the December 1st security patch and version A515FXXU1ASL1. I got this phone just this Friday and didn't even receive an update as I was setting it up, which certainly worried me.
Also, and on a related note, because this is the Latin American version, NFC is disabled. Is that something that could be changed as well/be fixed in the future?
Thank you so much for your help y'all

I am also canadian who purchased international version on purpose(easy to root international)as soon as i put in my sim i recieved an OTA notice.
Mine happens to be panama latin america. I recieved u2ata8 update. Whatever you do,DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING BUT INTERNATIONAL FIRMWARE VIA ODIN. IF YOU FLASH CANADA FIRMWARE ON INTERNATIONAL VARIATIONS THEN YOU WILL HARD BRICK. Also you will get odin fail if you have U2 in your firmware. Cannot roll back to U1

If I'm not getting prompted for similar updates does that mean I'm probably not going to be getting OTA updates? I believe my phone is the Panama version as well.

I definitely haven't gotten any updates. Is there any reasonable reason why I'm not getting updates but you are? I'm with Public Mobile, if that makes a difference. Would it have something to do with my sim card? The country code on my phone is TPA, which from what I've seen is the Latin America/Panama model.

It is multilanguage, you can change it or use whatever you want.
For instance I'm using this build in English and my sister uses it in Croatian. We did in place upgrade using Odin to keep all our data, but I'm thinking of doing full flash with Factory Reset soon.
P.S.: Using it for almost 5 days now, it is stable and don't have issues for now, need bit more testing out.
for real? global update or by region?

Currently it is going by regions and providers. Example is Vodafone which got it few days ago in Germany, Ireland, UK, Czehc Republic and Romania, but there is also for Baltic and Poland unbranded firmware.
Another example is GN model which got it in Vietnam with another update and F model which got update in UAE, India and Saudi Arabia.
As somewhat experienced user of Odin I flashed on my Croatia (A1/Vipnet) firmware this Poland release and for last week or so it is working perfectly, no hiccups and battery life is bit better. Plus One UI 2.0 is more optimized then One UI 1.0 that we got on Android 9.

You can check via SamMobile site where it is released, but as far I can see from link below you need to check what is your PDA or if it available to you using OTA, which might get you your firmware updated no matter of country where it is bought. I highly recommend if you are not savy with flashing firmwares using unofficial tools like Odin then wait for OTA, it will be released soon enough.

All updates after (including) 12.2019 has bluetooth bug... so I flush Quantum rom and get back my car handsfree.
Thanx.
BTW, I think ODIN is official tool for flashing SCAMSUNSGS...

Hi, I just checked Bluetooth in my Golf Mk7 with Discover Media systems and it works fine for my usage which is streaming music and accepting phone calls. My car is from 2016, so that might help to know more. Plus I'm connected with Android Auto which works fine aswell.

Hello guys,
I bought my brand-new Samsung S10e this year in early July and I havent received any update since the January 2020 security patch, which I assume was installed when the phone was manufactured. I was wondering if there's any issue with my firmware or anything. I have seen some recommendations for firmware flashing, I am a bit freaked out about it as I have never done it and I dont want to brick the phone. Additionally my phone is the US variant (Snapdragon) and New Zealand where I live has Exynos for the Default, further convincing me that the phone might have no compatible firmware for where I live to receive updates. I also read that it is not possible for Snapdragon to be rooted and so I was wondering if I could get comfirmation as to whether or not I could use custom ROMs. Any help, suggestions, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, I am desperate for anything.
Phone model number: Galaxy S10e SM-G970U 128GB
Thanks in advance

Your best option is to download SamFirm 5.0 and download SM-G970U1 firmware XAA code. Youll get updates then. Search how to use SamFirm and tutorial how to flash with patched Odin.

Are you sure that I use the SM-G970U1 firmware and not the SM-G970U firmware, I just really don't want to screw it up, is there a link you could send so I'm not installing viruses? Thank you
