Really, you ****ing save my watch, 2 days of damm fight, :
- Bootloader Downgrade is not possible trought fastboot, but OTA can downgrade it.
- This file contain sawshark 8.1 bootloader
- My watch got sim variant 4G, it need absolutly this bootloader, whitch is impossible to find
While trying to "unbrick" with stock firmware --> boot loop --> back to internationnal stock --> bad bootloader = sim does'nt work -> trying other firmware -> Working without SIM.
-Solution :
Flash bootloader with 8.1
flash twrp recovery
flash custom rom
Thanks , you sve me!

....

your not alone...
works for my dlxx too....finally!!! the solution.
i have download the OTA. extract the bootloader from the .zip
run fastboot flash bootloader.img syntaxe. and reboot ...With phone capability iemei back...audio from speaker watch... top!!!

[Guide] how to update mate 7 without getting error in recovery {update failed}

This guide is for all those who are getting error while updating their mate 7 manually either by local update option or by 3 buttons combo option.
here we go: ( for eg. consider mt7-tl10 model imternation version currently on any firmware and you want to install b123 firmware )
1. Extract recovery from new update.app to be installed i.e. b123 firmware.
2. flash it in fastboot mode.
3. now try to update using any of the option either local update or 3 buttons, it will run smoothly and you are done.
basically first we have to install recovery of the new version we want to install.
same can be followed to easily update to lollipop firmware.
hope this might help someone
Thanks - I was wondering what I was doing wrong since I can't update anymore either OTA, or local update or three fingers method, I constantly get the message "software update failed" and I am stuck with KingUser.apk ...
Can I ask I few more questions (I have changed ROMs in other mobile phones but not on the Mate 7)...
1) Do I need to unlock my bootloader to flash anything (I assume yes, my phone is still unlocked) ?
2) Do I need to use the Huawei Extractor (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454)?
3) The name of the recovery is recovery.img (I guess so)?
Thanks a lot,
Paolo

Shutting down Repeatedly When trying to Update Marshmallow

Hi All,
I have Moto X play running on android 5.1.1 lollipop. It was rooted recently and used with cyanogen Mod 12.1 for a month. during that time i did back up of entire phone. later i restored that and at present i have been using stock Rom. Recently i got official update for Android marshmallow and i downloaded the 500+Mb file and tried to install. In that process it was going to Twrp recovery mode and not installing properly. So i did reboot system. After 5 mins i turned on mobile, it got shutdown and i again restored my backup . It was working fine. cant we update to Marshmallow with the rooted device? If so how to stop the notifications of android system updates? I tried this way but still i am getting update notification
Apps--> All---> Motorola Update services--> turned off the notification
.How to disable it so that i should not receive update notification? or any other process to upgrade to marshmallow even after rooting? Please let me know

you need stock recovery to update to OTA mm, you cannot update from TWRP. download the lollipop stock-firmware extract the recovery file and flash it, then update.
i wanted to ask that after restoring from backup you got OTA update notification ? or you downloaded the MM update from other sources?? because i thought after rooting i wont get official OTA.

if you have your backup just do a full flash on stock rom and start fresh. there's an Asian 6.0 rom (I believe it is Indian) on the x play github. then proceed with root again.

First rooted the mobile. before installing the cyanogen Mod 12.1, i took back up in TWRP recovery mode. i used that same backup to restore after my device got shutdown. Yes even after rooting i got the Update notification

Sir, Is it possible to unroot the rooted devices in any way? if so could you please let me know
if you want to unroot you can do it from superuser, its mentioned in the youtube video. just unroot from superuser settings.
then if you want to upgrade to marshmallow download Indian stock lollipop rom from https://github.com/motoxplay/stock. unzip it on your computer to the the folder where you kept TWRP while flashing it . you'll see a file named recovery.img.
from adb run the command
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
i.e flash this recovery just the way you flashed TWRP.
then you can update to marshmallow.
and did disabling google play services removed your update notification???

nope no problem just flash the recovery. but before doing anything take a backup on your external sdcard twrp>>backup[look at bottom to change where to store the backup select sd card] for security if in case anything goes wrong, you can flash twrp again and restore.
and remember to select 'ALLOW OEM UNLOCK' and usb debugging options from settings>>developer options

Just follow the procedure as given in that thread and everything will be fine.
It has nothing to do with the way you rooted your phone.
If a phone has twrp installed, he has nothing to fear about upgrading to latest versions as the updates are made available on Xda in Twrp flashable zip.
So no need to format the stock firmware again and then update and then all the headache.

1. First unroot the mobile using the super Su (settings)
2. Then flash the Stock lollipop rom mentioned in the github
3. Then update the mobile to Marshmallow
4. Then again root the device

1. correct
1.1. check oem unlock and usb debugging
1.2. Copy the original old backup which you took, to your external sdcard. [just to return to stock if anything goes wrong]
2. Just flash the recovery which is present in the lollipop rom, no need to flash the whole rom.
3. correct
4. Do NOT flash the old superuser to root. To root again follow these steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-play/general/root-how-to-root-6-0-easly-t3277202
that other post was much easier

SM-G955FD upgrade to Pie from 7

hello everyone,
i have S8+ with android 7 installed, not rooted and still didnt get any OTA for either oreo or Pie, so i decided to do it manually but i wanna make sure of the steps since it's been a while for me not flashing anything.
first thing i should know is that this update is going to wipe my phone due to the bootloader update
and about that bootloader update, should i flash pie bootloader first or just flash a stock ROM with odin that includes bootloader file ?
any help with this issue is much appreciated

If you are going to update with Odin flash full firmware. ( 4 files )
As for wiping your phone when you unzip the downloaded firmware there will be 2 CSC files.
CSC - Clean install will wipe your data ( same as factory reset )
Home CSC - Dirty install should keep your data
Always do a backup before doing anything.
Note: Make sure after you upgrade your firmware to update your apps so that they will be comparable with new firmware.

HTC U11 firmware upgrade

Hello everyone,
First of all, sorry if i post it in the wrong section and if i am not always making sense.
So here is my situation :
i have a HTC U11 which i rooted a long time ago with TWRP & SU.
I then switch SU to Magisk (a year ago), because i needed to hide my root from few apps.
I wanted to update magisk Manager, but i lamely failed
(i went to recovery mode, installed the uninstaller ZIP for Magisk in order to put a version above 18 but then i had a boot.img missing error)
So i did restore an old backup that i had from 2017...
Currently i have :
Version android : 7.1.1
Firmware version : 1.27.400.8
Magisk version : 18.1
Magisk Manager Version : v7.1.1
TWRP Version : 3.3.0.0-ocn
My questions :
I want to update my firmware. I mean, my phone tells me there is an update. Is it what we call OTA ?
After i've downloaded the new firmware version (1.27.400.21), i select install now, and my phone reboots to Recovery mode, but asks me for a password (to decrypt data).
What the hell is that ?
Also, i would like to be able to still install this new version (and the futures ones).
How do i do that ?
Is it possible to upgrade the Android version too ?
I wish not to have to wipe or lose data.
What's the point to wipe data, dalvik, cache ?
When you do it do you lose your personnal data ?
Many thanks for your helps and support

Find out your cid/mid
You will need to flash the appropriate ruu (nougot) for your phone from here (sd card method)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15JL3tRWDSVOUKo_revEYtQ_tRcOSJ0vWcvk8a7TK8Hk/htmlview
in order to receive the ota updates. And yes you will lose everything. Backup as much as you can . And once you go to pie there is no going back unless s-off. ( There is another way but more involved) . hth
Thanks for your reply.
How do i find my cid/mid ?
I tried yesterday to use adb, but i could NOT find my device in download mode... The only way i was able to see it was to boot in recovery mode.
Can i still get my cid & mid if can find my device whilst it's in recovery mode ?
So i understood that i need to download the right file, rename it, put it on the root of the SD CARD and then boot my phone in bootlader mode.
Don't i have at some point specify the ZIP file to use ? Does it mean it will detect it automatically ?
Then why doesn't it work if i put it on the root of the internal sotrage of my phone ?
If i flash a RUU, will my phone still be rooted and unlocked ?

I believe the adb command is "getvar all" while in the download mode. get the cid/ mid number reboot then get matching nougot ruu zip. rename to 2pzcimg. zip place in the root of sd card boot to download mode not bootloader, it will detect automatically, hth
Thanks.

Try installing htc sync manager then reboot and run adb. You just may need the right drivers
I have read more about it and you're right it should be something like that.
Also, once i have flashed the RUU, rooted again, installed TWRP & Magisk, will i still be able to update OTA ?
I don't understand when some people say they uninstalled Magisk, intall the OTA and install Magisk back on...
Is it really the way to do it ? To be able to install latest OTAs ?

You will have to install ota before rooting , once rooted or twrp installed Ota will not install. This is my understanding, if someone has a different approach please chime in. Installing just the firmware is a different animal and requires more reading!! Hth
Okay so we are on the same page.
So my question is ow do you keep installing OTAs when your phone rooted or with TWRP ??
also i remember my cid is HTC__060 which i believe is india.
Is there anyway i can change it to Europe ? I mean, is there any interest for me to do so ?

Ota will stop once twrp is installed, I really don't see a benefit changing cid, but that's up to u ?
To install an OTA with twrp you have to:
1. Download the OTA in zip format (search in this forum).
2. Copy it to mobile memory.
3. Reboot to twrp and apply manually the zip.
If you are going to change the Cid, change to Taiwan version (that region has received more updates than the rest of the world).

Hello,
You should be able to go to this link and select to opt out of the beta to return to Android 11. Follow the instructions since they do tell you how to go back in the event you don't like the beta:
Android Beta Program
Android Beta Program allows you to enroll your Android device for beta releases.

Apparently you aren't the only one.. Assuming you have a Pixel 3, you can adb sideload the downgrade zip to go back to android 11. I am not sure if this is the right one for you but basically you can reboot into stock recovery then choose the option to update via adb or whatever it says then on PC use adb to sideload the zip file located here:
https://ota.googlezip.net/packages/ota-api/package/3fa0973459c2c433be2482c613776949fd4f0d72.zip
This should be the downgrade zip for Pixel 3 to go from Android 12 Beta to Android 11.
You cannot flash anything in Fastboot sicne I assume being VZW model your bootloader is locked and since you can't get into the OS to unlock it anyways then the only option you have is to adb sideload the zip in stock recovery.
