microphone not working during call (but works in speaker mode) - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need your help guys, none of my research came up with soulution..
Even tried wiping and re installing rom.
My microphone doesn't work during call, sound recording, anything. but well I turn on the speaker mode in the call suddenly they other guy can here me.
Do you have any idea how to fix it? I hope its not a physical damage to the mic.

Had this as well. What helped me, was editing the build.prop
Replace/add the following: ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=none persist.audio.fluence.voicerec=true persist.audio.fluence.speaker=false use.voice.path.for.pcm.voip=true
Hope this helps.

had exactly the same problem except no-one was able to give me an answer or possible solution. hope this works, will report back

Phone problem, transmitting

Hi anyone and all,
My XDA II all of a sudden developed a problem in that although I can dial and hear people I had called, they can not hear me. I have toggled the mute button, performed a soft and hard reset and even installed the latest upgrade in an effort to resolve, but no joy.
Does anyone have any ideas on how i can fix my beloved XDAII?
have you tried
1. to use normal record to check if the mic is working?
2. cleaned the mic
phone can only hear callers
Yes, i have tired the record function, that works fine, sorry should have mentioned that earlier, i wonder if it is a component transmitter problem!

[Q] Desire S problem with microphone during call

Hi guys.
I have an in-call problem with my Desire S.
This does not happen when I get called, just when I initiate a call.
When I call someone, the other part of the conversation will always hear a great noise or interference coming from my phone's microphone to the point that my voice is not understandable anymore.
I noticed though, that if I switch to speaker and back to earpiece the problem gets solved for that particular conversation.
Do you guys know of any permanent fix for this?
thanks.
Hey... nice to see a felow ro. on this forum.
Try a factory reset...it sounds to me like a software problem.
If that doesn't do it.....waranty should cover it.
Ok. So I hard reset and after spending a whole lot of time which I did not have reconfiguring the phone, I got the same problem.
And I figured out that the culprit is the Keep Service option in PowerAmp. Unchecked that and no more problems... and no warranty call... phew!

[Q] Echoing when talking on Viber/Skype?

Hi all,
I am from Australia and got a sony z3 the weekend and so far it has been great but I am having an issue when talking to people over viber/skype. When using video chat or loud speaker the other person can hear themselves back quit loudly like it is an echo. Even if i put the headphones in on my phone they can still hear themselves back but it isn't as loud.
If I switch to my old samsung s3 it has no problems I am using the same wifi etc same location and calling the same people.
There doesn't seem to be much of a issue when calling normal and using the loud speaker. Just with apps like viber/skype.
Does anyone else have this issue at all? Or can anyone test video/using loud speaker on Viber and letting me know if they have the same issue or is my phone possibly faulty?
Thanks Matt
Try a reboot.
Or try another app. It's possible Viber/Skype doesn't use noise cancellation. You could always use a headset or BT speaker (set it further away from the phone). If that all fails, there's a Mic Sensitivity setting under Settings -> Sound -> Audio Settings.
Thanks for the reply,
I have tried rebooting and it didnt help. I have also tried using headphones and while it made it a bit quieter they still had the same problem.
I will have a go at messing with the sound settings, thanks.
I think i am just going to take it back and see if it is just my phone with the issue or all z3's
Is anyone able to test on the z3 and video call someone on viber and let me know if they have the same issue?
Thanks,
Matt

Mic not working after flashing ROM

So I flashed this ROM (xtrasmooth from xdaforums) and then I had my microphone wouldnt work: Can't use GoogleNow ("Ok google"), and I can only make calls using headset or using speakerphone (which use another mic?).
Basically : Unless I'm on speakerphone during calls, people can't hear me talking.
I made some search in the ROM's thread and found out I wasn't the only one with this issue : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56735315&postcount=105[1]
I figured everything would go back to normal if I did a Factory Reset with Nexus Toolkit. and then... nothing changed, no mic sound. I bought this phone in order to benefits from the rooting and rom capabilities, and now I'm left with a mic-less phone.
Is there something I can do. A factory reset resets EVERYTHING right ? Is there something else I can try and is it completly.... dead.
Is there something I can do ? Please help =/
Someone posted a fix in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/multiple-problems-flashing-5-0-stock-t2937913 which is to flash the officiel img from nov.12. . However, it did not work for me. Still no sound during incalls etc, microphone doesn't pick any sound.
Sorry for bumping this, But I,m getting desesperate. tried everything =/
The XDA rules are you wait 24 hours before bumping. Please don't break the rules.
I actually found that my microphone only just works (so quiet) when I upgrade to Lollipop, that people cannot hear me when I call.
I have to make sure the build.prop contains the following:
Code:
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=false
persist.audio.fluence.voicecomm=false
persist.audio.fluence.voicerec=false
persist.audio.fluence.voicespeaker=false

Has anyone commented on an echo effect (either yours or their voice) since editing? This should be observable only on their end, that said.

Problem with one of the microphones - P20, EML-L29 4GB, 128GB.

Hello guys! I have EML-L29.
I have strange problem with one of the mics - the one which is closer to the earpiece, top of the phone. So the problem is that the mic is very quiet - i think its responsible for when you change to loudspeaker, when you have phone call or viber, whatsup etc call, video call on loudspeaker. So i have to speak very close and quite loudly so that the person can hear me.
The strange thing is that it works normally when i say OK Google and Hey google. If I say this things, no matter how loud, i can tell them very quetly and the mic still pick up the voice, then i can ask Assistant what i want and again the mic picks everything how it should. But when i try manully to voice search, or manully to ask Assistant something, againt the mic brokes and can't pick up my voice normally, i have to be very close to it and speak very loudly.
I had this problem with EMUI9, updated to EMUI10, stil got it, fully factory reseted it, still no change.
For what i searched on the net i saw that the top mic is part of the motherboard, so its pretty much no point of changing it.. the bottom mic is on its own board, so its easy job.
Still i dont know if its hardware or software issue. Its very strange, normally it dont work, but when voice call the Google Assistant it starts working as it should.
I will be very grateful if someone knows anything about this or some tips on how i can deal with it
Thank you!
