Could use wifi always on but set in advanced to not scan for networks instead of mobile while in sleep.

DL Gsam battery monitor or Better battery stats so u can get more detailed info to see where drain is coming from. Charge to 100 or reboot then leave alone till morning.

Battery Drain During Standby

My Nexus 5 16Gb is draining my battery to 50% during standby after use.
After charging at 100% I would wake up with my phone less than 50%.
Checked battery issues and it says that WiFi is draining the battery.
Any ideas?
I have tried turning wifi off, factory reset, and its stock. Got it a few days ago.
SUGGESTIONS WILL HELP!

Please post a screenshot of the Battery Usage section of your phone if you get a chance.
You may want to Factory Flash a whole new stock image. There isn't much to dissect right now cause there isn't much information provided.
Including screenshots of your battery usage would be helpful =) But I guess for starters I would go into Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced Wi-Fi and uncheck "Scanning always available". This will prevent your device from constantly scanning for available networks, which it would do even if you turned wifi off.
That's pretty significant battery drain, so your problems sound worse than just that.

It only happens during standby, during regular use there is no odd drainage of the battery. I'll post a screenshot soon! Thanks so far for the help

Then it's I guess a app, which is holding the phone awake, so it can't go into deepsleep.

It may be a cause. It may also be Wifi Scanning feature within the phone as stated earlier. I am not quite sure with this situation. I'd watch your app usage with a third party battery stats app such as GSam Battery Monitor. It could be possible wakelocks.

[Q] Bad battery life :(

I have done the following already
Location services disabled
Google Now disabled
Location reporting disabled
Wifi Scanning disabled
wiped cache
G is still getting drained quick. Screen on time doesnt cross 2.5-3.5 hours . I keep wifi and 3g both on
Install an app like BetterBatteryStats or Wakelock Detector. They will show more information but require root.

the device itself is about 10 day old. so can't pinpoint exactly
Seems to be a strange issue. Maybe you should give it some time. If it is not getting any better you should consider rooting and install a better battery app
You could try a factory reset

Battery drain app might give you some ideas, I'm averaging 0.85% hour with location and google now on
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.WazaBe.android.BatteryDrain
There are threads and a bug report with Motorola regarding this. It seems sometimes once GPS is used the battery continues to drain at 1-3% per hour until you reboot.
It may not be the issue in your case but it looks likely as the drain you see when the phone is not awake looks very similar to the problem.
If it drains in airplane mode and the phone shows as never awake then its the same problem.
For now don't use GPS or if you do then reboot directly after.

If you use your camera, then that might be the problem. Google itself noted a bug in Kit Kat that may run down the battery if you use the camera. Do a search on Google for more details...
btw I found this article stating skype sucks battery, how true is it?? will keep posting any changes after uninstall
@emgee It's showing a drain of 2.8%/hr with wifi on
Prior to this early morning I had turned off data and wifi and I got a battery drop from 100% to 91% in about 7 hrs, is that Ok?

OK, it was just that he first screenshot showed GPS was used right at the start of the battery graph. I assume you have rebooted since then.

If you are getting the weird drain issue that seems to be related to GPS then maybe best to use battery saving. Depends his bad you need GPS though. So up to you really.
battery drain around 2.5 % /hr . Basically havent been using phone after 82%

Battery drains very quickly: 15% in 2 hours of no usage

I bought a Xperia E3 and it had a battery problem,
I bought the second E3 and had the same problem.Battery drains 5% in 15 minutes of ussage.
I tried charge it from 70% 50% 30% and leave it to charge a few hours extra after it hit 100% as a last hope. But it doesn work.
What is the problem with it? 2xE3->the same problem.

Install a free app called CPU Spy avaliable on Google Play, all you need to do is open this app and see if there's a usage of "Deep Sleep" state by processor. If your E3 are not going to deep sleep at rest time, this is probably the reason of your battery drain.

Deep sleep works when the screen is turned off.
So check that app to see if it is showing the correct deep sleep duration or not.

Don,t you know LTE and 3G can redeause battery life. Turn your device to 2g mode. Only when you need LTE then turn it on.

i do,but i didint think this is the only cause for the4 fast drain.
After a switched to WCDMA/GPS i was able to get 30h medium use,50% luminosity.so yeah,it worked ou well BUT now the screen gets black for 2-3 minutes and then comes back to normal, especially when usig facebook.
i should mention: no update installed since purchase.

I have tried everything from turning off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, uninstalling apps to even factory resetting the phone. The problem is still there.. Please help me
BTW, my battery level is dropping 1% every 2-3 minutes

No, I have 1% drain every 2 minutes when using the phone on light tasks( Internet, messaging, Facebook and email). Little to no battery drain is visible when not using the phone. But I can'tell get more than two hours of SOT on a full charge

Uninstalled Facebook and it's still there... Nothing funky in battery stats apart from high usage on Android System

That's weird, try disabling everything you don't need like Bluetooth, NFC if you haven't already. Turn screen brightness lower, disable fast charging and "nearby device scanning", optimize the apps in settings/battery. Then do a restart and see if it makes any difference.
Hi mate,
I was in the same boat on Monday with a faulty device that overheating and kept freezing.
What I found was I had a weird bug, and 'Mediaserver' was constantly the biggest battery drain.
So saying that, when you go to your battery stats, what is your phone telling you is the main culprit?
Try this: charge your device to 100% restart it and then unplug the charger.

Hello,
The main battery consumer when looking at the battery stats is Android System.
Take a look at this
After a couple days of owning the S7, I checked battery usage of apps
OM Customise = 10%
KNOX = 10%
I've installed Package Disabler Pro, and disabled both the above, charging the phone now and will see if it makes any difference
If the above is true, that should give me 20% back by the end of the day
