Hi,
I'm trying to get a Nexus 7 like UI in my Galaxy Tab 7.7. I have ICS 4.0.4 running on it. I installed Nova Launcher, set it as default, replaced Samsung Keyboard, changed DPI to 213, replaced some other misbehaving Samsung Apps. So far so good. But I would like to further simplify the UI, like in Nexus:
1) Introduce a new bar on the top of screen like Nexus7, move the icons on the right side of bottom navigation bar to top of screen. I need a new bar for this, any idea how can I get it? the notifications shall also start to pop down from top of the screen.
2) Disable mini-apps bar in the middle of bottom navbar. Anyway many of them don't function anymore in 213 DPI and I don't need it anymore.
3) Distribute the remaining navbar icons evenly onto the bottom navbar. Now they are very close to each other on the crowded left side of the bar.
Is this mission impossible? I was eventually using latest CM10 version which was good, but one morning I woke up with a depleted battery and a boot loop. I will wait some more time in the stock ROM (if possible) to try again either CM10 or PA.
Hi,
I flashed pixel's navbar animation and after that my notification bar went crazy, app notifications icons on top left have become very tiny and right icons have shifted down and it's really annoying. Is there any solution to fix this?
Do you have a link of this animation?
Samsung doesn't let us change the color of the white navbar buttons-> Result:Burn in!
I really cannot understand the decision of Samsung not to provide the option of changing the color of the white navbar icons.
I use black themes and wallpapers for 1 year now. Black wallpapers and themes appear great on amoled screens and also help the battery life.
In order for the navigation bar to match my black interface, i turned the navigation bar to black.
The problem is that all these months the navbar is black but the navbar icons are white.
So after 1 year of light use i got a burn in of the icons of the navbar and i have to ask for a screen replacement.
If Samsung had given me choice, i would have set dark grey color for the navbar icons and i wouldn't had burn in. Someone can say that it's my fault because i turn the navbar to black so the contrast with the white icons was too big. Others could say "why didn't you hide completely the navbar? To these type of questions i reply with a question : Was it so difficult for Samsung to give an option to choose a color for the icons of the navbar???? Is it bad to prefer black interface on amoled displays which have exactly this advantage compared to the lcds???
I really hope that someone in Samsung will see this post. It's the first time i am thinking of giving up the amoled displays. In the past i didn't have such a problem because the navbar was outside the screen. Now with the bezeless screens, the navbar burn in issue is more easy to appear.
Just hide navbar or remove it with root/adb

If you read my post, you ll see that the meaning of it is not the solution "just hide it". And if it is more practical for me to have it shown as it is by default? What is the answer of Samsung on this? "Well, we couldn't provide the option to change the color of the navigation buttons, we haven't the knowledge that developers of play store have ( there are navigation bars which let the user change the color of the buttons), sorry for the burn-in" ???
Has anyone totally disabled the navbar and replaced it with one of the play store? I personally hide the stock, installed one from the play store, but when i enter an app, the interface of the app doesn't move up, so the buttons of the navigation bar fall inside the app's interface.
I disabled the navigation bar using this methos and works perfectly, is not even complicated.
Navigation Gestures
When i used black nav bar i noticed it's area was a little bit brighter color after that I removed it completely
I changed color to black.
Samsung want that your screen will burn and you buy a always the newest phone.
I use Gesture Controls app and disable the nav bar. However one solution is you can download an overlay that changes the buttons to the Pixel buttons and sets there color to a dark grey. That's what I had been using before the gesture control. Numerous options on Substratum as well. Good luck!
It was a happy start to the day as i saw my Poco F1 ready to be updated to Android Pie. I did it as soon as i saw it. Here are my takes.
Pros:
1. App icon displayed on the notification bar.
2. Google lens support to the stock camera.
3. Better performance.
Cons:
1. App icons from the notification bar disappear after a short while.
2. Option to hide the notch removed.
3. Adaptive battery mode from stock Pie not included.
4. Night mode and 960fps slow mo not included in the camera.
Do onething. Set a light wallpaper on homescreen or just open Themes app and switch from Poco to Classic theme. It will change the home wallpaper to light green. Now just reboot the device and when boots back, unlock it quickly without delaying. Now take a deep look on the homescreen and tell me if you can see some horizontal lines (not very deep though).
I have seen it on miui 10.1.3.0. At first I thought it might be a bug on my OTA. So, I grabbed the 10.1.3.0 fastboot ROM from miui forum and clean flashed through MiFlash tool. But it's still there. It was not present on miui 9 or 10.0.6.0. Right now I'm on 8.12.13 and there is no such issue.
Sir
Plz help
I can see those lines after reboot so what should I do
Title says it all. I'm on Resurrection Remix Oreo (same icon also appears on Bootleggers ROM) and I can't find which setting or app is placing it on the status bar. It's the slightly rounded white rectangle. Any help is appreciated.
[Edited for posterity]
It was from smart keyboard pro.
I guess you've already tried all the statusbar toggles. When does it show up? Maybe the resource is missing for that display density
Yes, I have. It first appears right after I input my screen unlock PIN at boot finish.
