It would be so nice to have something like that, and it does not seem to be complicated, just use whatsapp web. I hope some dev is interested in creating this.
There is an app available from the store called Whats History. It looks to allow fairly full functionality of What's App. I don't use What's App enough to bother though. If you try it please report back.
It's possible to read all incoming messages with what's history, but not the outgoing ones. Therefore, it's not visualized like a conversation

I have, it's quite inferior because it does not use whatsapp web.
You do not see pictures, you do not see contacts, you can only reply to messages that you have received. Besides the layout being bad.

I've tried it, still has many bugs. It's like they are testing an alpha version.
You might want to check out Chiffry it's an excellent alternative also coming from Germany and also has encrypted messages as well as calls.

Also.... i have tried chifry and I like to ask..... what kind of encryption use by this app? It's a joke? If you simply use sqlite you see all messages stored in plain text that's amazing.... FAIL.

Thanks for your friendly reply and the information.
I'm no encryption expert and can only rely on information I research.
And a test from a developer in Germany (on TV) said its safe, therefore I thought I would share it. Especially since SIMSme is not running well.
And to answer your question, the used encryption is:
End-to-End Data encryption in 256 bit AES GCM mode
Key exchange based on modern elliptic curve cryptography (512 bit ECDH)
Secure signatures (512-bit ECDSA)
the only messenger I would recommend is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.thoughtcrime.securesms
it's completely open source and offers a stronk encryption.
but I'm stuck with telegram because at least some of my phone contacts are using it.
Don't make sense send encryptation messages when any malicious app can read all messages in plain text on the device....... sorry but for me it's stupid app.

Hi,
Seems to be an issue with everyone (according to the threads on MIUI Forum I searched up), but it's super annoying.
Anyone able to turn off the sound that WhatsApp makes when taking a pic?
I'm forced to use the Camera app to take a pic then send via WhatsApp in quiet places just to avoid the dreaded sound. Even taking a video on WhatsApp makes a beep sound when it starts to record!
First MIUI based phone and I'm starting to regret not just sticking to Samsung already, sad because I freaking love the form factor of the phone. Maybe a ROM flash (when possible) will help this a bit one day, I hope.

You need root. Then got to /system/media/audio/UI and you'll find a lot of ogg file. Rename the camera_click.ogg file as camera_click.ogg.backup.
You need to change the rights on the file to rename it with root explorer.
You can also change the videorecord.ogg and the videstop.ogg that are playing when you start a vid and stop it.

But maybe there is also a way without root..
Maybe it's also an location bug of the software

I don't think so. I tried the region fix before and it didn't worked.
No other solution than root...

Important Announcement
GBWhatsApp shuts down.
As everyone knows, GBTeam has totally stopped the development.
So if any other developer will edit and release the mod please don't mention GBTeam name in that mod.
It was a great time with all you guys.
Sorry for the Inconvenience, hence we have closed our website, social account and mods
There will be no further development by us
And please don't trust in other developer like Sam mod and official plus that say that they updated the base, because they don't even have the source code of GB, so pay attention to these thieves.
A good alternative is FMWhatsApp

I sometimes get the problem, that I can't receive messages.
If I send messages, they receive it m, but I don't see the receive indicator anymore.
While this happens, I see the "Check for new messages" notification.
I get this bug since several gbwhatsapp versions.
After the update, keyboard no longer shows up automatically when entering a conversation even though "cancel open keyboard" option is unchecked. I use swiftkey and with exi module. However tried Gboard with no luck. Does anyone have an idea on this issue? Am I missing something?
I just bought a OnePlus 7 Pro, and immediately updated to Android Q, unlocked, rooted and installed Titanium Backup to transfer over my old apps.
However, I cannot restore most apps. I just made the backup on my other phone and so assume there are no data corruption issues. When I try to batch or individually restore, it will hang at random apps (the majority of my apps), and require a full phone reboot to gain access to TB again. I've confirmed TB has permission to install from unknown sources. I've tried all of the different installation modes in Preferences, as well as batch and individual restore. Is this an issue because my TB app backups were created on an Android 9 phone, but 10 does not allow that? Has anyone else had this issue or have suggestions?
Edit: Solved, thanks for the Swift Backup recommendations! Worked great, worth the $6 for the pay edition to do batch backups/restores.
I had the same issue when I first moved to Android 10. I don't believe it is a 9 to 10 issue, just the way TB handles the apks and data. Any app on 10 backing up and restoring in TB has had issues for me. Only way around it is to install the apps that don't restore properly in TB from the Play Store, then go into TB and restore data. Since then I've moved to SwiftBackup, which has had zero issues on Android 10 and seems to work faster as well.

I didn't even try TiBU, haven't actually used it in a while. But since getting my 7pro I've been using swift backup and love it. Looks way better and I haven't had any issues backing up or restoring.

Edit: Swift Backup indeed worked, and is also faster and easier to use than Titanium Backup. Thanks again!

Thank you very much friend, I have had this problem for a while and I was almost thinking of buying a Swift Backup license to solve the problem, but now thanks to your help I can say that I have solved the problem, I have done various tests with the option enabled and disabled and actually restore on one occasion freezes and blocks on the other, thanks again for the valuable information. Hello

Ciao

I disabled "Verify apps over USB" and it allowed my hanging restores to complete.
HOWEVER, the apps in question then crashed every time I tried to open them. So not truly a working solution.
Stop using that app.. there are better options now like Swift Backup which is far superior .

Yea like what functionality?
Both apps are made to make back ups and restore what fuctionality does TI has over Swift backup?
I love when someone state something but wont show any proff of what they saying is actually true.
Twrp backups work fine i don't know why you would even use this terrible app to begin with it's way outdated...

Outdated in the UI, but not in the functionality. I still have yet to find any backup solution that's as powerful and flexible as TiBu (and that includes the much-vaunted Swift Backup).

Before claiming one app is "far superior" than the other make sure you know what you're talking about. Swift backup doesn't even have 50% of the features that Ti does, it just looks better.

Who gives a rat's ass about what an app looks like? Seriously, if that is a reason to use an app, go use Apple devices.
I don't care if an app looks bad, if it does what it needs to do, that's fine.
Titanium Backup Pro fails restoring apps from Android v 8/9 to v 10. Some work, but most will not. Which can be quite bad, especially these days, with Authenticators, camera apps, banking apps, password manager apps, WhatsApp, Signal, you name it. None of them will restore when migrating from 8/9 to 10. Found out the hard way. Luckily for signal and whatsapp I had actual in-app backups, but the rest I had not.
