Hi Everyone,
I just got a used sm-920T (T-mobile Note5). It is asking me to get an OTA update but I am not sure if that is the best thing to do... What do you guys think? Is it better after the update?
I had note4 and it was performing really poorly with some roms, especially the battery. I am also thinking about rooting it and getting a custom 7.0 rom but I do not want to sacrifice battery life and performance.
Thanks.

Thanks.[/Quoted Dr ketans note 5 rom will work fine on your s6e+. Just flash the kernel your phone during install(A menu pops up and asks, yours is 928t). And also flash the call audio fix. You will need twrp recovery installed on your phone via odin. There's no loss of battery life and it's a touchwiz based rom. So you keep your samsung apps and whatnot. There are oreo roms out also floating around which is 8.0 but I don't think you should go there as a daily driver if you are not tech savvy. It's still a newer development. The Dr ketans rom and nemesis rom 7.0 nougat are both well used and tested, I simply prefer ketans.

So I was getting sick of running CM 10.2 on my Galaxy SIII so I decided to go back to Verizon stock 4.1.2 rom and then before reading up on the 4.3 OTA update, I stupidly just went through the update. I didn't know how much of a hassle this was going to be, but basically I was wondering if anyone has any information on how to get off of this standard rom and back into the world of custom roms. Because I really really dislike touchwiz and really just about everything to do with this OTA update that I've had to deal with for the past pretty much month now. Any information will be helpful on steps I can take to get off of this ROM or if any work is being done to make this phone rock as much as it did when I first bought it.

Saferoot and Safestrap only available option right now.
I may add that saferoot is to root your phone and safestrap is used to install TouchWiz custom rom only.
how to get a clean 4.4
I've done the same thing as well with a similar issue, is the consensus that there is no way to move from a stock 4.3 updated phone to a clean non-touchwiz 4.4 such as CM11 or similar? My phone is quite slow and laggy after this update especially the keyboard, so I'm looking to pare things down to speed it up.

Hello I've had this phone for around 7months or so and remained stock rooted as I hoped for more development but as it seems things are happerning but at a slow pace, I now want to put a rom on I'm looking at the 5.0.1 version but I don't wanna to mess about I just want to flash a rom and leave it so can anyone recommended a rom and let me know if the overall performance is better the stock 10f D838
Many thanks.
I have a bunch of questions. I just received my Verizon S7 as of today, brand new of course.
1. Is it possible to flash this to a different firmware and possibly load a rom for that, I've noticed? Or is there no working rom for this verizon phone because it's from verizon? I know you can root it as well. Verizon firmware seems pretty ass so far and have noticed that it's been heating up just because I'm installing apps from the playstore although people have said it goes away eventually. Any recommendations on which firmware I should use?
2. As for the people who have rooted, how has your experience with it so far in terms of performance, battery life, and stability? I plan on rooting if's worth the trouble so I can use Adaway, Xposed Installer, and etc but mainly to improve my battery life if rooting helps with that! Can I just load into a different firmware and then install a rom? For some reason there are no working roms or stable roots for the Verizon version?
Should I just stick with stock then?

1. No you can't, since in the USA all firmwares are carrier branded and flashing another carriers' rom would most likely brick your device. And yes, it is possible to root your device, but it is still in early stages which means it's very unstable and it would bring more disadvantages then advantages.
2. I am using the International version of s7 and rooting does improve my device's peformance quite a lot, but I would not recommend rooting your's.
So yeah, for now just stick with the stock rom.
Hi, I was thinking about rooting my Galaxy S7 and I know that KNOX will be tripped and I will not be able to use Samsung Pay, S Health or get OTA updates ever again but I was wondering was that it and what are your thoughts on rooting the galaxy s7 and if you think it's worth it? I want to dual boot King rom and RR Remix but I'm not sure if it's worth it?
I think that's a very subjective question for which the answer should come from you. But IMHO, since you are seeking opinions, I haven't felt the need to root mine [yet]. So far this is the only Android I've had that I haven't rooted - and I've had Androids since the original Motorola Droid. I haven't used Samsung Pay yet but I think that once I do I will become accustomed to it. For now I am holding off on rooting. I find that my S7 gives me most of what I want and I'm not missing root at all.

So why did you root before the s7? I ask because I plan on buying the s7 to BL unlock and run custom rom..
No, i dont think its worth it! Stock rom does a great job and even the backups work perfectly with the samsung cloud and also you can use Package Disabler Pro without root so thats all you need.

Thanks, I think unless they release a fully stable, feature packed AOSP rom I'm gonna stick with stock. I do like Android N for the Galaxy S7 and it's definitely a step in the right direction from Samsung :good:

Thanks for your opinion. I think your right, other than custom roms I don't really see a reason to root. I think unless they release a fully stable rom (like AOSP) that I really want I'm gonna stick to stock for now. I wish there was a way to get the dual speaker mod without root though, that would be good.

Gotcha
I honestly haven't rooted since my OnePlus days, and even then once I started using Google Wallet/Android Pay I reverted to stock. On my S4 I had to root to gain some of the functionality/customizations I wanted. With the OnePlus and my S7 Edge, the need just isn't there. Sure, I'd like to remove some of the AT&T bloat, but at least I can disable those apps which is good enough for me.
Hello peeps, i was wondering if any of you guys have any rom reccomendations for the SM-G930F. I have tried a lot of roms (Including Stock but i have some carrier problems with stock) but i just couldn't find any satisfaction in them, i'd like to stay with touchwiz for my samsung gear 2 but i've installed android on it a couple of times so i can live with AOSP roms also. Please guys leave some reccomendations i would really appreciate it

i've installed it recently too but for me it isn't really good because somehow my battery is worse then any other AOSP rom and it's just not smooth ("dirty flash" and 2 times a clean flash with super wipe)
I think you should go for teamexykings s9+ port rom
It's best rom for s7 930f
I have been 4 month in this rom
U can't ask more in this rom
