Hi all be nice its my first time..
i would like to know how to tell if my phone is branded (tmobile) there is no web n walk icon etc. so might need gold card.
also if i was to root my dhd with the upcoming ota release of 2.3 is it worth doing for custom roms.
what is the difference between ota rom and custom. i ask this because if the custom roms are all good then should i ignore the stock rom updates. and just use rooted.
i do like the stock rom but ive done the update at xmas and need to roll back...
ive just rooted my first android tablet, which was a risk because i wasnt sure what machine it was.. but its all good.. so doing the root shouldnt be a problem.
So I was getting sick of running CM 10.2 on my Galaxy SIII so I decided to go back to Verizon stock 4.1.2 rom and then before reading up on the 4.3 OTA update, I stupidly just went through the update. I didn't know how much of a hassle this was going to be, but basically I was wondering if anyone has any information on how to get off of this standard rom and back into the world of custom roms. Because I really really dislike touchwiz and really just about everything to do with this OTA update that I've had to deal with for the past pretty much month now. Any information will be helpful on steps I can take to get off of this ROM or if any work is being done to make this phone rock as much as it did when I first bought it.

Saferoot and Safestrap only available option right now.
I may add that saferoot is to root your phone and safestrap is used to install TouchWiz custom rom only.
how to get a clean 4.4
I've done the same thing as well with a similar issue, is the consensus that there is no way to move from a stock 4.3 updated phone to a clean non-touchwiz 4.4 such as CM11 or similar? My phone is quite slow and laggy after this update especially the keyboard, so I'm looking to pare things down to speed it up.

That's correct!
I'd like some advice please on what to do next. I rooted then flashed my Samsung S4 with a new ROM named Imperium v16.1. Everything is fine except the classic issue of having little to no data connectivity. Wireless is fine and when people try to ring me it's fine. I try to ring out though I have to go into and exit airplane mode.
This is the first time I've flashing an android handset so I definitely put myself in the n00b category.
I'm at the stage that I just don't care what ROM I have I just need data connectivity to work again. Yes I was probably stupid it try it but you know what it's like. We all want to experiment!
I guess I have two questions. If I install another ROM will I just have the same problem? Also, from my research, I get the impression that the problem is that my handset's modem drivers/baseband(?) don't match the ROM. Is that accurate/likely?
Any advice or simple background into what's going on would be grand!!
Thanks community!

Your stock firmware was the outdated Jellybean 4.2.2. Flash latest stock firmware from HERE and you'll be able to use newer custom roms. And free user can cload with 300kb/s, don't be scared by the 15kb/s.
Thank you. I've got the download.. I'll give it a go this evening after work.
(wow the copy of Odin I picked up is full of bloatware.. Wonder if the source I got it from was a bit dodge)
That has worked beautifully! Thank you very much.
Gosh, I had forgotten how bloaty and boring the stock ROM is.
Hi Everyone,
I just got a used sm-920T (T-mobile Note5). It is asking me to get an OTA update but I am not sure if that is the best thing to do... What do you guys think? Is it better after the update?
I had note4 and it was performing really poorly with some roms, especially the battery. I am also thinking about rooting it and getting a custom 7.0 rom but I do not want to sacrifice battery life and performance.
Thanks.

Thanks.[/Quoted Dr ketans note 5 rom will work fine on your s6e+. Just flash the kernel your phone during install(A menu pops up and asks, yours is 928t). And also flash the call audio fix. You will need twrp recovery installed on your phone via odin. There's no loss of battery life and it's a touchwiz based rom. So you keep your samsung apps and whatnot. There are oreo roms out also floating around which is 8.0 but I don't think you should go there as a daily driver if you are not tech savvy. It's still a newer development. The Dr ketans rom and nemesis rom 7.0 nougat are both well used and tested, I simply prefer ketans.

Hi Guys,
I'm very new to the world of playing with phone Roms and rooting so please bear with me.
I have a Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) that I am playing with at the moment. I wonder if it is possible to flash it with a ROM that is already rooted so I don't have to go through the effort and risk of trying to root it after flashing.
If so, where can I go looking for such a ROM. Also where can I get the stock ROM for this phone ?
Kind regards and thanks.
Stock can be found in sammobile.
As for a pre-rooted ROM without going through the effort... if you have a custom recovery, sure. Most of the ones available have it.
