Hi guys
I'm from the UK and currently in Cyprus on my holidays and I've noticed an issue with the automatic time zone change, it doesn't seem to work.
None of the the world clock displays any cities but it worked fine on Nougat when I was in Thailand as it showed local time and UK time as dual clock.
Anyone have this issue?
Found the issue I've disabled weather in my apps which now has fixed the world clock issue and auto update of location
i think i have same problem

Hey guys,
While in navigation mode, the maps always show the north at the top, and it won't auto rotate when you take a turn.
I thought it was a Google maps thing, so I was using another GPS software till now.
But today I saw a Galaxy Core, and the maps rotated automatically at every turn!
So, is it a device issue? Any input?

I suggest you using Copilot GPS! it's free and support navigation without 3g on...Google maps navigator it's not that good.
Hey. Thanks for the tip, but as already mentioned, I do have a third party GPS software.
Nevertheless, the question is about Google Maps / Navigation.
Hey everyone,
I bought the Honor 8 this week and immediately got the Nougat update. I'm now on build number FRD-L09C432B360. Everything is working fine, except for the gyroscope which is going crazy. I've done a forum and google search, but the only other evidence of this is on youtube.
Is there any fix for this?
Thanks, Penny
I got the same problem, reverting to any Android 6 rom fixed the problem

Hello,
It seems that the giro is going crazy (spining) when using google cardboard or google street view.
I downloaded a giro, accelerometer app to do a diagnosis and they seem fine.
When using cardboard design lab app or Caribbean VR app everything seems fine.
Is there any fix for google cardboard on Honor 8 ?
I have a Honor 8 model FRD-L09C432B380
EMUI version 5.0
Android version 7.0
Hello all,
it's a software bug in Honor's EMUI. Please refer to this thread to fix your issue (post #8):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/auto-screen-rotation-bug-t3531119
Deactivating some settings in 'smart assistance' should fix your issue. I only kept Smart Key activated and now everything is working perfectly!

I deactivated all smart screen functions.
Performed cache drive wipe.
The issue persists.
Hi
just discovered this issue on my honor 8 when I wanted to try a VR headset (google cardboard for example)
I noticed this bug in snapchat on some filters going crazy spining all around
I think there is a missunderstood here with 2 different issue : The one that could be solved by deactivating "smart screen" option is only about landscape rotation I think
The issue of this thread is about VR apps, Youtube VR vids (after you clic on carboard icon), and every kind of app using the 360° + cardboard functionnality of the phone.
(Google street view 360 is ok for me since you can't set it for cardboard, as Youtube VR vids are OK until you clic on cardboard button)
I hope any update will come, but it looks like there is not a lot of people who noticed this issue since it is the only thread I found.
What I tried :
- disabling all smart screen options + wipe cache from recovery menu (non rooted)
- accelerometer calibration
- gyroscope calibration
nothing worked
edit : some apps are working i don't know how and why :
Gravity Pull VR (goes crazy but get fixed by deactivating / activating orientation)
Titans of Space Cardboard VR
ParisVR / CaribbeanVR / ...
Cardboard Design Lab
Still there
Any news on the subject ? I have the same problem.

Try installing Google VR Services from Playstore.

You just gave me the answer to my problem! I've been fighting the screen auto rotation issue for a week. Thank you!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72444321&postcount=218
I've not been able to get stable VR either, tried on cardboard. Installing VR services didn't help. I gave up when I couldn't get the spinning bug fixed.
I've installed the Google VR services but the bug is still there with Google Cardboard.
But on Caribbean VR that works as intended.
The problem seems to be that Google Cardboard thinks that the smartphone is vertical so it's spinning constantly as it does in youtube 360 when it is vertical or that the motion to turn left or right is always triggered ....
I've also tried Trinus VR and the same problem appears.
Just got the phone today, ran all updates and having the same issue with 360 youtube videos en some vr apps. Anybody found a solution?
Anybody got this problem reported to Honor?

Yesterday was update to B389
Hope it will fix this bug
Please report after testing
We were all waiting for the new update to come but Once more Samsung has manage to destroy some things
One of them is screen auto light adjustment... At least at Exynos version
Before the update you could just adjust the bar wherever you like and then with one off - on to auto switch you have return to full auto light adjustment...
Now this is impossible
With auto on if you move the bar this setting is saved like the ideal auto lighting condition and stays that way...that means that auto lighting is working good but from the base of your previous adjustment and not full stock auto.. If you deactivate and activate again the auto switch nothing happens because of the previous "saved condition"
So that means that you can't go back to full stock auto lighting conditions...
That's to bad and it has to be really fast a new update to fix this issue...

That's actually how it works on stock Android.
I have found another disappointment change... YouTube app... The end of side to side full screen video play...if you choose to cut video for full screen it will only full up and down sides but unfortunately will leave huge black bazels to left and right (landscape view) to this beautiful bazzelless device... This is too disappointed...
UPDATE
After clean installation of YouTube app everything works OK again...
It's strange because before the clean installation I had exactly the same version with the new one with totally different interface (it was the same as my Xperia z4 tablet)
Same issue, also Exynos variant, with auto brightness and YouTube app here in Romania after the same updated. Reinstalling the YouTube app will help but only for a couple of minutes, because after that some kind of update is coming via the app it self and the full screen mode is messed up again.
Regarding Auto brightness: For me, the new behavior is the one I want and expect. I hope, it stays that way.
I have this same problem!
Poland, Exynos.

I have found a solution with YouTube app...if you don't sing in to your acount then you will never have full screen problem again...
I think that has something to do with the same version of YouTube to second devices like tablet... Because when I'm singed with both devices (s8+ & Xperia z4 tablet) I m always having problems with full screen faction... If I say unsigned then it works as it should be.... Strange things....
auto brightness problem
Same problem here too. I'm from Bulgaria, Exynos version. Any solutions ?
I flashed my P905 with Android 10 (17.1) . All things are running well. Phantastic work of the developers, many thanks. I only have a problem with the displayrotation. For example, if facebook is running and facebook change the display from horizontal to vertical, for example when i share something, the display will not come back to horizontal. It has nothing to do with the switch for displaychanging. Only a new start is helpfull. Also when i shake the Tablet, nothing happens with the display.
I think, it is a softwarebug. Can somebody say something for that problem?
Best regards
Roger

Well... I have Android 9 (16.0) here and display rotation is also buged. For me, when It crash and still in a position, I need to disable autorotation in system configs with the tablet in inverse position. So the screen goes to the correct position and I can turn on autorotation again.

hi guys !!
i am still observing screen flickering issue on poco X3 (after update) but it is only observable while using 'material island live wallpapers' or 'live wallpaper from google wallpaper'
what i observe is
1. screen tone change to yellowish (have to on and off night mode to get it to normal)
2. continuous screen flickering if i pay attention to it (observable on dark sides)
plz comment if any of you having same issue with this device or u already resolved it.
i am having poco x3 India varient screen is same on both
update ::
flickering + screen tone change is observable on two apps yet material island app and google live wallpaper ( both have same live wallpapers)
where as screen tone change on opening ANY live wallpaper app (when i am just going to apply it)
already done that google chrome method.
I have similar problem but with browsing the web. Few days ago Xiaomi share new rom update, after that everything works correcly.
I have been using poco x3 the global variant for 2 weeks now, i also use the material islands live wallpaper but i havent noticed any yellowing or flickering so far, maybe the unit you have is faulty?
Hi
Did you try to change "Settings/Display/Scheme Color" to "Standard" ?

Oh okay that's perfect then. Since 732G is a new chip and is released alongside poco x3 thus optimizations are needed. I'm very positive regarding future updates

Yeah doing that bring back phone to normal. But after opening that app again problem used to re appear but now after update i didn't encounter previous problems yet.
Help I have screen flickering issue when manually changing brightness to minimum in a dark room (auto brightness disabled in settings). Anyone else experience this type of flickering?
EDIT: I just came across this possible solution to my specific screen flickering problem:
