Use the MTK Droid Root & Tools to rppt GIONEE Ctrl V3.
I successfully rooted my GIONEE V3, which I bought last week. It was very smooth

Are you sure the hardware supports OTG? If device is not certified with OTG, then most likely hardware doesn't support it.

I had i9 and it supports OTG fine
panasonic eluga turbo rooted with kingroot4.8.5..
please discuss tested working mods for rooted eluga turbo.

how to backup rom for mtk 6753 or install cwm recovery.. mtkdroidtool gives error..
viper4android sound mod is working on eluga turbo after disabling selinux enforce with terminal emulator command
" echo 0 > /sys/fs/selinux/enforce " (without quotes " ").
selinux modechanger apk is not working and selinux has to be disabled after every reboot. the above command is for temporary disable and is working for viper.

above link has a latest updated stock rom. it has to be flashed with spflash which is easy and working.. tested.
Before flashing you can try wiping data through stock recovery.
