Trying to find method to root phone. - Android General

I have an alcatel 5027b and after extensive searching on this site I could not find the appropriate rom to push to ADB via fastboot if perhaps someone may link it to this topic I will try it. I would also like to know how I may do this using linux since it is what I am using and also if possible, how to make a backup rom incase the root rom will not work. I tried kingoroot on phone and via pc along with several other one click root apps and 2 other pc root apps, none have worked.

[Q] What rooting method to use?

I think to buy me the Smartbook FUN PAD SE to test some development ideas. For this purpose I need to root this device. I have searched the web and havent found a manual for rooting this specific device.
My question is: What rooting methode should i try to root this device (Android 2.2 Froyo) and is the methode of rooting device specific and/or system version specific?
Wow Froyo. A way back when, we used z4root to root froyo. You could try using superoneclick which contains a collection of various rooting exploits. It's not too uncommon for one method to work on a number of devices with the same version (although specific vendors patch those exploits). If it hasn't been rooted in the past though its anyone's guess. It looks like a fairly unmodified version of froyo so I wouldn't be surprised if a known method worked on it.
This device has no usb debug mode, is there another option to root it?

No debug mode setting under settings>Applications>development? well just tick unknown sources under applications and use z4root. Its root in apk format no cabling necessary. just download and run it using your tablets browser. There are several versions of z4root, you may have to try a couple before you get one that works.

[Q] Need help rooting Samsung Galaxy Young s6310

Hello, everybody! I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Young s6310 and I want to root it. I have read about rooting, and about different methods of doing so, and I resorted to Framaroot, which didn't quite work. I tried many versions of Framaroot, and every single try had two outcomes: the Aragorn exploit didn't work, the Gandalf crashed (I tried restarting the app 5 or 6 times, but still it wouldn't work).
So Framaroot would be out of the picture. A quick mention: my phone had JB 4.1.2 as a default OS, and most of them come with GB 2.3.6.
I abandoned the idea of rooting it with Framaroot, and I saw another possibility in SRSROOT. Did anyone root his phone with SRSROOT? Are there any risks involved? (mainly in the rooting process, not what it implies afterwards) I have heard that this method is safe, because no flash is required, you just connect your phone to USB, press a button and it's done. Another method I found was the Unlockroot application.
What is the simplest method to root my phone? And the safest one, of course.

I have a Galaxy Nexus so I don't know many ways to root the Galaxy Y. But I have a solution to root it that almost certainly will work.
First flash or boot a custom recovery than flash the latest supersu.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Premium HD app
Here's a CWM recovery for your phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2328771
It says there to "flash with Odin". Not sure how to do that, you might want to check Google.
I tried flashing a recovery file from Djalo96's FTP, and Odin doesn't recognize my phone while in download mode, and yes, I have the ADB and fastboot drivers. Odin detects my phone while in normal mode, but when in download, it doesn't show me anything. Sheesh, I never knew it was SO hard to root a phone. I heard something about unlocking the bootloader. I understand the concept behind this, but how do I achieve that?
P.S. I tried rooting it with Unlockroot Pro and SRSROOT and it didn't work. I suppose it's because of this bootloader issue.
Try universal root method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403230 it worked on my S6310N

you have the samsung drivers do you? you don't need to unlock anything, i have rooted mine with the same guide, and it worked, so if you have installed kies or just the samsung usb driver it should work. you dont need adb or fastboot drivers, odin and samsung drivers should be enough
Try flashing update.zip for sgy.... Google it
JUST PRESS THANKS IF I HELPED...
i root my galaxy young with framaroot 1.6
just choose supersu and gandaf then root and reboot
Find the update.zip file for sgy and zip it using cwm. Also download the update-unroot.zip file in case you need to unroot later on
Press thanks button

[Q] Trying to Uninstall and Delete OPO default driver

Hello everyone. I recently got an OPO from my friend. I am trying to clean it up and root it and install TWRP and all that stuff. I am trying to use the toolkit but to do that I believe I am required to remove the default driver and install ADB drivers. Unfortunately, when I try to uninstall the "A0001" from the device manager, it will let me uninstall but not detele (there is no tick option). Can someone please suggest how I can solve this problem? Thanks.

first off dont use a toolkit and learn how to do it the right way. Secondly have you simply tried to install proper drivers and boot into fastboot mode to check if they worked. I understand you have old drivers but that does not mean they do not work. I use a program called adb minimal which installs the right drivers all the time.
rooting is very simple with some very simple guides, please look into doing it manually since fastboot drivers load so much easier in my opinion. If you need a hand just ask me.

Tbh I am a newbie. I was using Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 with Wugfresh Toolkit and it was super simple. Hence my preference for using toolkits. I downloaded adb minimal but since I am new to this I don't know what to do from there. Can you please point me to somewhere I can specifically root/install twrp and all that for OPO using adb? Thanks.

Honestly to remove the noob tag things like reading up on manual root methods are a good thing. Now that being said generally in any thread in xda the general section will always have the best root method. Also it normally would be stickied and at the top.
here is a nice root method I used my friend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2788632
very simple and straight forward - the only difference would be the folder used. Since minimal places everything in your program files folder please make sure you transfer all files needed to that folder.
Again let me know if you need any further assistance.

Trying to root Kyocera Hydro Wave model C6740N

Title pretty much says it all. I've tried countless one click root programs with no progress whatsoever. I've spent hours searching and nothing comes up for this phone. Does anyone know a way to root this thing??

same here, a guy who works for kyocera told me that this model cant be put into recovery mode. Any help appreciated
I'm joining the request. As stated above, I've combed the web for anything on it with no success. Is this because of the fairly new release? Or possibly the trouble they're in because of Microsoft?
Either way I feel there should be an exploit out for it by now...
I too am looking fir an exploit for this device, and have scoured Google, Bing, and Yahoo, only to find nothing.

This model (Hydro Wave C6740N) CAN be put into Recovery Mode, using ADB.
Since Windows (edit: XP) USB drivers for the C6740N Wave are not released by Kyocera (yet), you (edit: can) use a Linux or OS X machine to connect using USB, to use ADB on the C6740N. (Since USB connection to C6740N "just works" on those platforms.)
I have used ADB on a Macbook running OS X to reboot my Hydro Wave into Recovery Mode, and performed cache wipe successfully. Also performed backups using ADB.
Kyocera advised (via email) that the Wave can be put into Recovery using Volume Down + Power key combo. Not true, the key combo does not work.
Kyocera also advised (via chat) that the Windows USB driver for any Hydro family device will work for the Wave. Also not true (I tried it). (Edit: I tried the drivers with Windows XP. It looks like the Kyocera Windows USB drivers may simply be USB modem drivers only, on any case.)
OS X or Linux using ADB is the ticket, no USB driver necessary. (Edit: But see other posts about using Windows 10 too.)
I'm also keenly interested in rooting the C6740N, but an absolute noob. The C6740N has a lot going for it, but a few shortcomings that root would enable resolving. If anyone knows of a way to root it, we would be most grateful to hear about it.
Tried about everything else too and nothing works
There's a working driver in Windows 10, but KingoRoot still fails. I almost tried King Root, but it's all in Chinese. I was going to try Framaroot but gave up when the download link resulted in an endless survey loop to win a free $100 Visa card (yeah....... GO F**K YOURSELF). I really want to root this thing. MetroPCS has this thing loaded full of bloatware and the Google BS I never use (google+ MUST DIE) is just eating storage space and what tiny bit of RAM is left. It's a nice phone but the inability to overclock the CPU, delete bloatware, and turn my 4GB SD Card into RAM really leaves alot to be desired.
The phone can be put into recovery using adb on windows.but that's as far as that goes.Cant find any way to root.Hope we get one soon.
So I think we should make a list of what root methods that did not work. That way we wont get hassled of what does not work
Kingo Root: FAIL
Towelroot: FAIL
Framaroot: UNKNOWN
King Root: UNKNOWN (Can't read Chinese)
Could you use a kill file that would reset all data including disabling some things
Root genius fails
King root fails
Kingoroot fails
Iroot fails
Framaroot fails
Towelroot fails
I'm thinking you gotta unlock the boot loader , but I can't put into fast boot mode or boot onto the boot loader for any adb fastboot commands to work. I can get to recovery in adb , and in the recovery menu I select boot to boot loader but it boots normally. I really want to root this thing!!
I just noticed that they're are any way to root the latest lolipop unless your on 5.0.2 ( BTW I checked kingroot and checked the request of our device and its almost to 1000
Subbing 'cuz I just got it and want it rooted. How do I request it from Kingroot?

If he rooted the phone he sent the reply from, he's unfortunately in the wrong thread. The C6530N is the Hydro Life. We're trying to root the C6740N which is the Hydro Wave. Thanks for getting our hopes up.
On the other hand, if he's using the Hydro Life to post in the forum but has successfully rooted the Hydro Wave, we would all love to know just how you did it. My Hydro Wave is running worse than an Alcatel Evolve on the stock setup. We need root badly.
Speaking of root exploits such as Framaroot, see
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/0...droid_users_creates_hijackable_global_botnet/
Which links to the original exposé:
https://www.fireeye.com/blog/threat-research/2015/09/guaranteed_clicksm.html
...which notes that this Android botnet malware uses Framaroot and other root exploits. I wonder if some of these Chinese root exploit tools themselves (Framaroot, Kingoroot, etc.) carry a hidden malware payload.
....
Hi I've tried everything also but I also tried this program for tablets called zuse toolkit & it seems to get something through cause it reboots & optimizes or upgrade apps I'm not too sure which one but if someone out there knows how to modifie the way this zuse toolkit roots then maybe we have a chance of rooting this new phone oh & after it optimizes or upgrades the apps I check for root permissions and it still says it does not have root permissions so yea...

Galaxy J7 Sky Pro (SM-S727VL) Root Help

Title says it, apologies in advance for my noobiness on the entire topic of rooting. Got lucky and my previous device was supported via kingroot. Just looking for SuperSU permissions so I can enable my hotspot really.
This phone is through straight talk btw. I've tried Kingroot, iRoot, and quite a few others to no avail. I don't currently have internet due to me moving to the butt-crack of nowhere, Tried srsroot but seems like it interferes with USB tether and says it's successfully rooted but nothing happens upon reboot.
Anyone had any success with this? Thanks in advance.
Anyone?
Please help for the love of god.

CF- Autoroot might do it. I see that it works on other variants for the J7. Here's a link with CF-Autoroot and detailed instructions. Hope it works for you. Let me know how it goes.

Is this your first time rooting a device. after srsroot says successfully rooted did you verify root by going into playstore and trying a root check app.

I tried srsroot 5.1 multiple exploit and it said rooted. I open root checker and it said phone wasn't rooted. I also tried dr. Phone and they didn't have a working root method for j7 sky pro and i was desperate enough to try king root. None of these worked. The guy than mention c.f. auto root, thats for a version of the j7 that was released in other countries. Those variants of the j7 have exoynus processors and us version have snap-dragon processors so the root procedure might brick your phone.

When ever I get some free time I'm going to try using adb commands to try and root.
Hopefully not too much longer before someone can root this thing... I'm also looking!
wondering if anyone has seen this video or tried it??
Code:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtktE0jccnw
I can't open the link but all the videos iv seen on YouTube seems to be j700's and other variants not for s727v.l From my research the devices are a listed under samsung j models but the they all have different hardware, i.e. boards, processors, chipsets,. I did a cross referience with cf-auto root to try and find a divice with the same hardware and builds, there wasnt any other device with the same hardware that would suggest compatibility. Cf-auto root flashes a root file to your device and if it's not compatible you could completely brick your device
Hello, First of, you shouldn't have used kingroot whatever the situation was
However https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkwired.droidinfo&hl=en
download this and capture the system and device tray
Yeah but it was worth a shot. I figured if it worked I could replace it with superSu. I will post those specs In a few. When ever. I get time and free WiFi in going to try adv root
System and device
I'm going to try adb root method when ever I get the time

Verizon bootloader is most of time locked you can't flash it.
I may have a method for rooting s727vl. I can't test until I get home where I will have unrestricted data in case something goes wrong. I'm gonna keep this short and simple assuming everyone have
knowledge of using odin.
Developer option usb debugging oem unlock no frp or passwords
Download odin
Download latest superSu, this isn't the same as superuser in the playstore. It's used for rooting systemless root os. Yes that what marshmallow is.
After downloading supersu place it on your phones sd card
This is what I'm not sure on. Download clockwork mod RECOVERY. Zip , not the one in the playstore. And place on pc
Use odin to flash cwm to s727vl
Please refer to guide on installing cwm
After flashing cwm go to it in recovery mode and use cwm to flash the supersu zip file and reboot phone. It could take a few minutes but it should boot with root access. Or wait for auto reboot.
What I'm not sure on is cwm compatibility with s727vl, I couldn't find a yeah or nay on compatibility. Cwm say it's compatible with any android.
Hopefully this will work. Make sure u have your data backed up and your stock rom in case things go south. If anyone try this please let me know the result. I'm anxious to try it but I travel a lot and I can't afford to have data throttled by downloading everything I need and I can't risk doing this until I'm i get home.
