TF700 w KatKis 7.1.2 very slow - Asus Transformer TF700

I updated my TF700 to KatKis 7.1.2 and it is very slow.
Facebook and some pages in the browers are very slow.
Is that normal?
Any suggestions to track what is sucking the speed.

Did you
Format / data and then change it to f2fs
Turn off auto updates for everything
wait at least 30 minutes after flashing to give the rom a chance to get done with indexing etc

[Q] Excessive data usage - Super ICS v.1.1.1 Koush Kang

Hello, i installed Super ICS v.1.1.1 Koush Kang onto my Nexus S on the 25th november. My monthly data usage has been consumed very rapidly since install, my surfing habits have not changed so i decided to contact Vodafone UK who could see my habits before ICS would be 5-10min couple times a day no more than 1hour. Now it seems iam transfering data between 4-6 HOURS at a time multiple times a day. i am certain Super ICS v.1.1.1 Koush Kang is causing the excessive data usage. i realise ICS is early development could i be overlooking something that is using the data? i do NOT have anything else installed apart from clean ROM.
looks like i will need to rollback to 2.3.4 Gingerbread
thanks
installed 3g watchdog from market as data logging isnt enabled in this build.
instantly see 20mb recieved over network within 15seconds, very little sent data.
so iam home now checked WIFI to see what happens and 75mb recieved in 1min hardly any sent. its stoppped transmitting now, restarted phone looked again its stoppped.
i would post this in the developers forum under the correct thread but i cannot
Is your phone set to backup your preferences and such? What about your Market, is it set to auto update some applications?

Chrome "Reduce Data Usage" option missing

When I first got my Nexus 5, Chrome (version 30.0.1599.105) had an option in Settings -> Bandwidth to "Reduce Data Usage.
After playing around and flashing the stock image, re-rooting, and installing TWRP, I've noticed that option is gone. Chrome still reports it's the same version.
My brother has a stock unrooted Nexus 5 and his stock copy of Chrome (version 30.0.1599.105) has the toggle to Reduce Data Usage.
I've reverted back to the factory image and even re-locked my bootloader to see if Chrome is detecting modifications and disabling that feature for some reason. The toggle is still missing. My only option is to run Chrome Beta but I was wondering if anyone had/has the same problem and if there's a fix.
I don't have that option and I'm still completely stock.

I'm fairly sure this option was only ever supposed to be in Chrome Beta. It's not available in the stable branch. You were probably using the beta version without realizing it.
Well whether it was only ever supposed to be in Chrome Beta or not... Some of us DID have it on Chrome 30.0.1588.105 that shipped with our phones. It definitely didn't have the Chrome Beta icon either.

My GF had a splash screen on her N5 welcoming her to chrome beta "you are invited to try a new feature", asking her to check the box for data compression later as sign up.
However, I do not have it and our phones are both N5, same build, all same, same, same

Maybe that's what it was... does her Chrome icon have BETA stamped across it? I seriously do not recall being asked anything. Oh well.
Thanks for the feedback guys!

I had that selection available when I first got my nexus 5 but I lost it once I flashed the Google image.

Resurrecting this dead thread a little
Now after the Chrome 32 is released it's supposed to offer the data compression (reduce data usage option) to everyone: http://chrome.blogspot.com/2014/01/more-web-more-savings-with-chrome-for.html
However I still can't see such option even after I updated (Chrome 32.0.1700.99, stock Android 4.4.2 KOT49H ROM, Nexus 5).
I had this option in the Chrome Beta, but it isn't in the regular one. I tried to delete the app data etc but to no avail.
Any ideas?
Working for me, now what's the point of this? Not to use to much data for webpages?
Yes, it can reduce the data usage when browsing. That's useful for me (limited 3G data plan here ), though I prefer Opera which supports more effective compression.
Update: Funny thing, the "Reduce Data Usage" option just appeared in my settings now. Really funny.

Chrome got updated today (for me at least).
Is Google keeping track of the sites then? Since it goes to them to render?
I wonder why they don't have a "Only on data" option. It's either for WiFi only or Always on.
Trying it out now, they have reduced 68% of my viewing, pages definitely load faster.
When compression is enabled, the traffic is "proxied" via their servers that perform this compression, so I would say yes, they're able to do that easily and they most likely do it.
The only 2 exceptions are encrypted (SSL/TLS) traffic and also anonymous tabs are claimed to be excluded from that.
After updating to 32 I wasn't able to see the option until I restarted my phone... guessing stopping the process through Settings would have the same effect.

Mine was missing too. Go to chrome://flags in the browser and choose reset all to default. When you relaunch it will prompt you.
I'm guessing ads will start showing up now (for rooted adblock/adaway users) if users enable this data compression, since the data (including ads) is now coming from google's servers.
If so, umm... I think I'll leave that option disabled

[Q] Google Play Store WiFi download super-duper slow

Hi guys, I just done resetting my OPO to everything stock 44S, but when I tried downloading and install back my apps, it was ridiculously slow while downloading the apps. I checked my net is performing perfectly at 20Mbps, but Playstore download apps at 50-100Kbps I was like WTF??? I tried change DNS doesn't work either, but on mobile data is super fast, just like normal just WiFi. I tried my second phone WiFi also slow like hell but watch youtube etc is smooth. Is it possible Google side problem or my ISP problem?
If everything else works fine I would guess it's a Google problem. Or the routing to your place isn't that good? Are you using a VPN?

I was thinking the same thing. I got my OPO last Friday and I've been flashing roms all weekend. I also noticed that the Play Store download speed was ridiculously slow on wifi and LTE. I have AT&T and I also flashed Ark kernel. After about 2-3 hours, no matter what rom I was on, the Play Store apps sped up. I thought my issue had something to do with me going from 11S to 11 to 12 all weekend. (I had to find what worked for me) But it seems that irrespective of the kernel, cm version, and gapps I was using, the dl speed just popped back in gear after time.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance but my only solution was time. How long have you let your phone idle?

I think idle time doesn't matter, okay.... I tried with my friend's phone, it's also same, very very slow download speed, so must be Google side...
Like what others have said. If you had another device and play store downloads was also slow. Your home isp probably bad poor routing to the servers causing it to lag.
Some other tips. Disable wifi optimization if you haven't. Toggle wifi on and off and then try a download again. Restart your modem and router.

You can test the speed with a normal dl from a fast Server, bunt i think it was a Google Problem
Sind from my One+ with TapaTalk
I just did some updates to my apps
Some apps download at 1.5MB/s others at 300KB/s lol it's a Google issue I'm concluding

Major lag in web search and browsing on Shield K1

I have a 2 week old Shield K1 that is driving me crazy. Chrome (or other browsers, I have tried several) hang for ages prior to displaying search results or taking me to the page I am trying to get to. It looks like the page is loading but nothing is happening. Eventually the page will load but it can take forever. I haven't noticed any pattern, this seems to be totally random but it is also frequent. I have also noticed this problem in certain apps, where the thing just sits there.
I was on 5.1.1 and upgraded to 6 to see if the problem would be fixed. No dice, same problem. Though I am sure that I have now taken on all the bugs in Marshmallow
I have played with the performance modes (max performance doesn't change anything) and have also tried optimizing the chrome app to see if it helps. Nothing helps.
Can anyone offer some suggestions? If I can't solve this in the next couple of days I am sending it back to Amazon. Appreciate your assistance.
Once it pulls up a slow website/search, how does your browsing session continue? Are the next pages you browse to/search slow as well or do they pull up quickly?
If, when you continue to browse, it remains quick, would lead me to think you may have an issue with your Wi-Fi setup - either the Shield itself or your configuration.
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using XDA Free mobile app
Some pages pull up quickly and then it will hang again.
What type of wi-fi setup issues should I be checking?
Are you configured for DHCP? If so, have you tried setting up a manual IP configuration instead?
Sent from my SGH-I337M using XDA Free mobile app
I am configured for DHCP, have not tried manual IP.
I did however stumble upon something. This only happens on my main router, an Asus RT-N56u. If I connect to my second router, an Asus RT-AC56u, the problem disappears. If I reboot the main ASUS router the problem goes away - temporarily. Problem pops back up several hours later. I'm unable to determine what setting on my router would be causing this to happen and none of my other devices are affected.
Any ideas?

Check for a firmware update for the router? I also wonder if either router has a page caching option that might be affecting the performance? Last question, is the slow router 2.4 GHz, and the other 5ghz? If the last is the case that's just the way 2.4 GHz wifi performs.... Good luck

I pretty much experience the same issues. I am on the original Shield Tablet 16GB with Marshmallow. The device in general can be laggy, but as mentioned this is most common when using Chrome.
Following the advices in terms of connections, maybe I can add something here. I actually have two devices, one with the bad battery and one which was sent as a new one. I have two routers (one is personal, one is from my ISP) and played around with both type of connections. In all cases I find that the tablet is laggy, but that it is less laggy when closing all open apps in the cache. If I use my smartphone (Xiaomi Mi4C running on Marshmallow as well), I have no issues at all.
My theory was that it has to do with the 16GB on the device. When have to much apps installed, there simply is to less storage for the cache. I know the difference between RAM and storage cache, but I found this before with the first Nexus 7 tablet.
Anyone else experiences this and have some ideas how to monitor the issue?

Have you tried other browsers? On my K1, It's pretty obvious Chrome isn't very optimized on it. Even with the supposedly powerful K1 processor, I experience lag amongst other annoyances. Maximum performance mode doesn't even help matters.

I have upgraded my router firmware and it seems a bit better but not much. Still laggy.
I have tried other browsers - same issue.
Any other thoughts or ideas?
You may have already tried this but a factory reset would be in order, right after installing the Marshmallow update.
I tried something yesterday. Under app optimization in settings, I played around with the settings there. You are able to choose a desired resolution and performance profile for installed apps. It didn't solve my problem entirely but it sure improved it. Weird how I always ignored that before.
Perhaps this would help your case. I'll let you know of any developments.
I had the same problem on Kitkat so I don't think a factory reset would change anything.
I tried optimizing the Chrome app - no change. Are there particular settings you are using?
I may try changing my router firmware from Asus stock to Merlin....
Other thoughts?

WIFI connection disconectting automically while playing pubg mobile.

** Need Help **
I'm using Phoenix OS for playing PUBG Mobile. But sometimes while playing the WIFI connection of phoenix os automatically gets disconnected. Then I have to reconnect it again. It's really disturbing -_- .
My router is fully okay. Cause I don't face this issue on my other OS. I don't know if this problem has any relation with my L speed installation.

You can try without LNET tweaks, maybe something make a problem.

Well after all, run your OS for a while and let it disconnect 5-10times. Get the logcat then and attach here.

Hey there, i know this is a bit off but im here for almost the same problem. So i am using oneplus 3 android pie and i have only installed l speed recently. So before i installed this app my connection was stable but after i install this app i noticed instability in my connection. The following situation are some example :
1.When viewing whatsapp status it used to only take a few minutes before im able to see the status but after install it i need to wait for a long time. this shows that my phones connection are not focusing on whatsapp because when i try to download anything, the download will take a few seconds then the download will start downloading with a bit faster speed than usual so i know that my wifi is not the problem but its a problem with my phone.
2.Pubg mobile connection became really unstable because when i open the game to main screen it constantly says that server is not responding or rewuest timed out but at the same time when i download resources in the game it download as usual( i can see at my status bar on my phone the internet speed)this leads me to conclude that the L speed does make my phone download speed a bit better but in the cost of stabilty its making my phone connection not stable. I think that the tweak made my phone focus the internet on downloading the resources for the pubg but it made my phone not giving any internet or maybe if it give, only a little internet to the app itself to load the main screen.
For your jnformation, after i realised this problem, i reverted all the setting in the app then uninstalled the app and reboot but the connection instability still occurs so i think maybe there are some adjusment made by the app but not reverted back in my system. Oh and one more, i tried looking for the init.d folder incase i need to delete scripts but i can only see init folder and the init.d folder is no where to be found. And onemore for your info, when i installed the L speed i used the balance profile and in the LNET section, i only turned on the RIL tweak, tcp and also net speed+ and for the net buffer i occasionally change it between small, big and default.I hope somebody can help me resolve this problem. My only hope is that my internet connection on my OP3 returns tu its original state.
