Non-standard device, can it be rooted? - General Questions and Answers

Sorry if this is in the wrong place....
So, I haveone of these...
www . desertcart.ae/products/24035588-dupad-story-falcon-no-camera-otg-smart-wake-4g-5-0-inch-android-5-1-mt6735-quad-core-1-5ghz-64bits-2gb-16gb-unlocked-smartphone-with-gps-black
Some apps won't let me install them because they say my device is rooted, but I can't do anything that needs root access or install apps that need it, and when I use something like "Rootcheck" it says I *don't* have root...
Can it be rooted so that I can either gain stock android and use apps that won't install with root, or root properly so that I can install apps that need root access?
Here's what is says in my "About Phone" Section
Android Version
5.1
Baseband Version

I'm guessing then that no one knows, or I simply can't?

i know how to root it! I have the exact same SoftwinerEVB Tablet which i bought off of eBay.
Some guy on android central or something said in a forum that if you factory reset the tablet (back everything up so you can restore after reset) it will be rooted, i followed the instructions AND IT WORKED!! to make sure I had done it I used SuperOneClick to try and root it and a message popped up saying i had already been rooted. Try this method to root it and tell me how it works out
P.S. It won't automatically get the superuser app so you'll have to download it off Google Play or something
this tablet comes rooted if you need to check to make sure all you have to do is get root checker from the play store.

Any idea on how to flash this device with CWM Recovery and is there any suitable Rom for this device?
There's an app on Google play which can check whether phone is rooted or not!
As for cwm and rom, u r gonna have to do a Google search!
Antutu benchmark can give full details of ur device with model no... Try that too!

Hi, I ordered the same tablet from Ebay and was also looking for info. Looks like I found it...
I ran "Root Checker" and by root access it states "access granted", so I am assuming it was delivered with a rooted Android OS.
MY question is, how do you install *.apk files to it?
...and by the way THANKS FOR THE HELP!

The way you download apk files to it is:
1. Plug in tablet to computer
2. Enable the usb file transfer thing
3. Download apk in file form
4. Transfer the file to anywhere on the internal (or external) memory (I prefer to put them in the download folder)
5. Disable usb file transfer thing
6. Open File manager
7. Navigate to the folder you placed the file
8. Tap the file listed
9. Press ok
10. Done
P.S. make sure installation of non market apps is checked in the security section of settings.

[Q] Is there any way to change Android buid?

I know that Android system released as eng build has natively rooted without SU binary. And My banking apps are detecting SU binary or temporary unroot status which SuperSU can make. If detected anyway, I cannot run my banking apps. However, I also don't want my devices to be permanantly unrooted. So I need to change my Android 4.0.4 build from user-release build to eng build. (Usually Android device vendors release their Android firmware as user-release build which don't give us root access.) Is there any way to change my ICS 4.0.4 build from user-release to eng?
I think you have to Change your build. prop

[Q] Root phone, but root apps always return to default settings

Hello guys,
I rooted my One S, with SuperSU v.1.25 by Chainfire.
However I face some issues here
1. Unable to update SuperSU to the latest binary, i tried both by using Normal (wifi) or TWRP (nothing happen).
2. I installed FasterGPS, and had configure my COntinent and Region settings. But everytime I run the apps again, the value that I configured goes back to the initial settings, I cannot write the value permanently into the conf file.
So I plan to install another type of SuperSU, then I tried to uninstall the SuperSU, but fail to do so.
Anyone have any solution for this? how can I solve #1 and #2 problem.

Hi
Yes, am using Stock ROM, and here are the details.
Andriod version: 4.1.1
HTC Sence: 4+
Software Number: 3.17.707.102
HTC SDK API level: 4.65
HTC Extension version: HTCExtension_Sense45_5
Kernel Version: 3.4.10 - g055bd56, [email protected]#1, SMP PREEMPT
Baseband version: 16.22.20.03U_16.11.20.24_M
Build Number: 3.17.303.102 CL148964 release-keys
Browswer ver: WebKit/534.30
First of all, thanks for your help, I manage to install the Easy_InitD_1.1.zip. However the outcome still the same.
For example in FastGPS, it allows me to update my Continent, and Region. But after the reboot, every value goes back to default again.
The 2nd app I use called AdAway, and It also allows me to download the hosts files, but after the reboot everything goes back to the default value.
Any idea how can I permanently write the value in?

You can try to install busybox from playstore. Then try updating su.
I have a file with busybox and superuser (but its a different su). I dont know of 2 can exist in same ROM.
I used this always on stock twogether with the initd file.
I can link it. Try busybox first.

[Q] Rooting S5770 with Jelly Bean

Hey all
Problem: I installed clockworkmod, gapps and 4.2 on my s5770 without rooting the device. I was messing around with play store trying to download apps but it turns out my internal memory is pretty much full so cant download. I've tried changing the download location to the SD card but didn't work. I found a few websites that say its possible to expand internal memory but the device needs to be rooted and here lies the problem. Im not sure how rooting works but I have tried using a 4.2 method but didn't work and I've also tried a 2.3 method but still didn't work.
Ill list the specs for you guys based on the about device section in phone settings. I want to know how to root the device because so far, everything ive tried hasn't worked or if their is a method to expand the internal memory without rooting that might help too.
regards.

[Completed] Root and Flash ROM for device not in list

Hi Guys!
I want to Root and Flash a custom Rom onto my tablet. I can't find it in the list however so I'm a bit lost with instructions on how to go about it.
My tablet is branded as a "Swag Tab" and it's name is "Swag Expert 703". It's a 7" tablet.
If I go to "About Tablet", tis is the main info there:
Android 4.4.2
Baseband version: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MB.WG.MP.V35, 2014/07/28 15:11
Kernel: 3.4.67 [email protected] #1 Wed Jul 30 16:16:33 HKT 2014
Build number: MT83X2_MR706Z_MR706Z1H1C2W1.2014073016
Custom build version: 2.15_20140604
I'm obviously a newbie so I would please like to find out if it is possible to Root this Device and Put the latest available ROM on it? Do you get something like a "Generic ROM" that would work on most devices?
The main reason I want to do this is because I can't install apps on my SD card. It installs either on Internal Storage or on "USB Storage". I don't even know what is USB storage. I googled how to install apps on the SD cards, and all the info suggest I need a newer version of Android than my current 4.4.2.
If I go to "Storage" I can set the default Write Disk between USB Storage or SD card. No matter which one I pick, I can't install new apps without removing old ones. My SD card is a 32GB card with 30GB free!
Thoughts, suggestions please!
Nobody has any clues?
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Try posting your question in this friendly Q&A thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259645
You may want to try generic tools to root your device like Framaroot or Kingroot.
Good luck!
