So I just got a notification for my update. If any developer wants it just let me know and I will send you a link to my Google Drive.
Does it tell you what the update version is. That is very helpful to them. My guess is its J which they have already.

Really? I didn't check or know how. I used the kdz for 10i a couple of weeks ago and I took the 10j update. Rooted from there and have only been flashing 10j roms. That's why i thought it was new. How do i check?
If so I feel retarded, haha. I thought I was helping out.

If you click on the notification it should give you more info on it (Haven't actually clicked on one since JB so don't quote me on that lol) or you can pull the update from /cache and upload it to google drive and send me the link so I can look at it. (Dont put the link in the forums cause people tend to flash first, question later why they leap before they look).

@Tilde88 or another will have to look at this. I tried numerous ways to extract this (I'm on Windows and am not familiar with messing with python on it, keep getting Command "bsdiff" is not valid, don't have dual boot on Windows 10 for a Ubuntu OS to do android related things yet, haven't had any motivation for anything these days) but I at least see it checks in the updater script if your system is NRD90M before it proceeds.
I just cant see an update so soon after J. We all know how good LG is at updates as well as source.

The zip was downloaded today by OTA. Hopefully not security for preventing root but security for bettering the system.

I'm on Ovrdrive's 10j rom and I just went to the update center and checked for an update. It say my phone is up to date. I'm on Tmo H918.

You are right, but I also remember with 10j, everyone seemed to get it within a day on TMO.
But you may be right if another one is out.
What size is the zip file?
It's strange why I would see an update on my phone. I am on 10j everything (bootloaded and all) and still got that update.

Saw the MHA-L29C636B172 OTA on firmware finder for about 10 days now but it can't download (just stays stuck on 0%). Tried WiFi and mobile.
Was hoping I'll get the OTA on my phone (I check about 4 times a day) but nothing yet.
I'm in Malaysia, is there anything I can do to get it early?

2. update_full_hw_spcseas.zip - 672.92MB
The steps are in the images below.

I think you should just wait for the OTA and stop obsessing about it. Don't go around flashing stuff from dubious sources.

First off, is firmware finder legit? Cos in the post above, he mentioned dubious sources, but i want to believe it is cos a lot of people here recommended it severally.
Secondly, in firmware finder, it is 657MB but when I sent to Huawei updater it now reads 2.02GB.

To be honest I'm not sure, but my best guess is that those Fw are for internal testing before being released for the public.
The safest way is of course to wait for the official update.
Tried the same thing as you just now. Was around 2GB.
Chances are it will fail at the authentication and not authorised. But hey, maybe it's just me.
I tried download the zip file and follow the instructions. However, for the first step, it always fails after rebooting and starting updating the system. It fails pretty quickly. I don't know why .. I have the update.app under dload on my sdcard.

It fails signature verification. I guess we'll have to wait for it to hit the carriers for us to update.

Maybe they have began rolling out updates. It depends on region and also carrier.

Update size: 57.4 MB
I didn't manage to grab the OTA URL.
If someone else could grab it, that would be great. It should show up in the logcat when you start the OTA download.
Search for "/ota-api/essential_mata_mata/", and grab the URL around it.

In just to say that Sprint obviously doesn't have this patch available yet (just checked). Awaiting someone to post the OTA URL and I'll give the manual flash a shot.

It only fixes the fingerprint issues and has the November security patches. There's no other fixes according to Essential.

i wanna help you out. i ran adb logcat and started and stopped the ota download. i am not seeing anywhere in the logcat where the url is located. i even did ctrl+f to find it and its not showing. any tips you can give me?

Sadly still seeing the smart Lock bug when it's enabled so switching off fingerprint again for now. Hopefully that's next.

You would need to flash back to stock. Then take or sideload the update and reroot.
I have been having issues sideloading this zip. I made sure my ADB version was updated through the SDK, but I keep receiving "Connection reset by peer". I was able to load the NMJ20D just fine earlier today.
Is anyone else having this issue or know of a remedy?
Can someone provide a checksum for an update zip that they sideloaded?

I just sideloaded the current stock ROM, rebooted, then the update installed fine. Flashing just the boot image didn't seem to work as a fix by itself.
is a full wipe necessary? im rooted with ad free youtube.. thats all

You are already on March update and your phone didn't prompt you the new April update? That's strange. Did you try to remove the sim card and let your phone connect to WiFi only then tap on system update?

Why would I do that? Especially when that's not part of the process that you gave earlier? I think the updates are rolling out based off of carrier or some other such criteria. Not simply if you're on x-release you automatically get an update for y-release...

As far as i know rooted phones will not get OTA. You have to manually flash update.zip and root again, because rooting needs bootloader unlock and will not recognise the device in update server. I guess you have to wait for manual update zip...?

You will get OTA on rooted phone but it wont install. Even just replacing the recovery wont help as your stock boot is modified while root. you need to flash the stock boot as well before you will be able to update via OTA.

Simply uninstall magisk from magisk manager will restore boot and unroot phone.
