So I just got a notification for my update. If any developer wants it just let me know and I will send you a link to my Google Drive.
Does it tell you what the update version is. That is very helpful to them. My guess is its J which they have already.

Really? I didn't check or know how. I used the kdz for 10i a couple of weeks ago and I took the 10j update. Rooted from there and have only been flashing 10j roms. That's why i thought it was new. How do i check?
If so I feel retarded, haha. I thought I was helping out.

If you click on the notification it should give you more info on it (Haven't actually clicked on one since JB so don't quote me on that lol) or you can pull the update from /cache and upload it to google drive and send me the link so I can look at it. (Dont put the link in the forums cause people tend to flash first, question later why they leap before they look).

I just checked my pm. Didn't see a message other than my old ones. But I'm guessing its a disappointment for me?
@Tilde88 or another will have to look at this. I tried numerous ways to extract this (I'm on Windows and am not familiar with messing with python on it, keep getting Command "bsdiff" is not valid, don't have dual boot on Windows 10 for a Ubuntu OS to do android related things yet, haven't had any motivation for anything these days) but I at least see it checks in the updater script if your system is NRD90M before it proceeds.
I just cant see an update so soon after J. We all know how good LG is at updates as well as source.

You are right, but I also remember with 10j, everyone seemed to get it within a day on TMO.
But you may be right if another one is out.
What size is the zip file?
It's strange why I would see an update on my phone. I am on 10j everything (bootloaded and all) and still got that update.
whats the model after the update
This was the update i took. Also, you can still root just fine.

I was supposed to be part of the soak but for some reason my phone is invisible to the Moto update servers and they cannot push the update to me. I have the update file someone gave me a link to download. I have two questions about how to install it.
1. Since I am rooted can I just put it where Moto would have downloaded it to and then my phone will update it like it got the OTA?
or
2. If I install it off the SD card will it just do recovery first and then display injured android man, and then have to reselect the zip package again to finish instlling the update?
I would prefer method 1 if possible. If one of the devs or a knowledgeable person could respond I would appreciate it. I'll give Moto about six more hours to get this straightened out, otherwise I am tired of waiting to get my Atrix 2 onto ICS.
Hi. I don't suppose the end result would be different, whatever method you choose.

Where does moto put the zip file so I can try putting it where the OTA would have downloaded to? Then when I go to check for update it should say an update is ready for installing. Do they put it in the cache directory? Someone who knows please let me know. Thanks.

AFAICT this seems true, you I could run a leak#2/soak based ROM as a second system (first system too?) with boot menu manager by following the guides:

Yes, it is /cache... but I think you also need the .crc file of the same name along with the actual .zip - not positive though. And, it can take a little while for it to recognize it - but I have done it that way, by putting it in the cache folder - also, it will disappear if you reboot.
But, you do know what you are doing, right? There is no fxz yet...
---------- Post added at 08:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 AM ----------
Edit.. since it's the same files as leak#2.. for the .crc file, you could just make your own if you don't have it:
-Just create a new blank file with notepad++
-Add this as the first and only line (no blank lines after)
Code:
3114145323
-Then, save it as Blur_Version.55.13.25.MB865.ATT.en.US.crc

Yes, I know what I am doing. I used to develop roms for LG P999 but have not played around with my Atrix much. LG does their OTA updates very differently and downloads them in pieces all over the place so no way to use the method I am suggesting for the Atrix. I don't care about being able to fxz back as I just want the phone on official ICS; but I do appreciate your caveat. Thanks for the reply.
If anyone has the .crc file please upload somewhere so I can grab it. Thanks.

Thanks. I will give them a few hours to get to work and see if my phone is visible to the update servers now that I have done an FDR as they requested. If so, I will just let the OTA do its thing. If not I will manually update my phone.
Also I do not think you can be rooted to update the check will prevent you from updating, also you have to be as close as stock as you can..... Meaning all bloat must be unfroze.....
One more note there is a Q&A section now so try to post questions there.....

Could the fact that you're not in the US, are now unlocked and on another network have something with failure to get the OTA!?
You can be rooted. The update asserts only check for the original system files to make sure they have not been modified or deleted. It does not check for extra files like superuser.apk or busybox. Rooting is not a problem. I set superuser to OTA protect and it worked. After the update my ICS was still rooted without me having to root it.
For the person that wants the leak the OTA is leak # 2. It is exactly the same. Just find thread with download link for leak # 2 and you are good to go.
Would installing beats audio drivers using the app be considered tampering with system files? And would it prevent me from receiving a ota?

Sorrry but what mean FDR? because I'm in that situation: Im not in US and I have the phone unlocked, and I'm using it with other operator... Is just ended the soak test?... because the phone say me "Your phone is updated, Is not required a update in this moment" (Translated from Spanish) when I look in Settings -> About the phone -> Update, and I'm have the system version 55.13.25.MB865.ATT.en.US.

You have to be someone that was invited and filled out a survey about six weeks ago. If you are you need to go to the Motorola Private forum. Go see how others are requesting it (not allowed to really talk about it). FDR means Factory Data Reset and it is an option in Privacy in Settings. It erases all your user settings, app data and you are back to square one like when the phone came out of the box. For many people it was required to get what they wanted.
If you were not invited don't worry. Usually the official rollout of the OTA will come within a week of a soak test if no problems are found. It is the same as leak # 2 so just look on this forum and you can install that manually. The release is solid so I see no reason the OTA won't be going live to all AT&T Atrix 2 devices very soon.

I hated doing it but it was necessary for some reason. Before it my phone was invisible to the update servers. After it was and I got a push notification to begin the download. Loving ICS.
I Have H950 G Flex2, But i didnt get android 5.1.1 , i love this phone even it get hot somethimes, its good for me.
I want to know if maybe someone can help me to update to 5.1.1 because i dont have ota Update avalible and if is possible, try a stock or international room of 5.1.1 for the H950 Because att have a lot of bloatware.
Thanks all!
Yes
The various threads around here are quite helpful. If you're rooted, you're going to have to go back to stock. The OTA update should then kick in.
There's a thread over in the Android Development Section (It's at the top) that is exactly what you're looking for.
So, yes there are certainly methods by which you can update to 5.1.1!

This is a detailed tutorial on how to return your phone to stock. You'll end up with a data wipe, so make sure to back up anything you want to keep. You'll want to do this first. Nothing should go wrong (no guarantees though, as always), just make sure you pick up the H950 version of the system file (and put this in the root directory of your internal storage, and rename it to "system.img" if isn't already.)
Easy Restore/Recovery/Unbrick Tool for LG G Flex 2
You'll reboot to your bloated stock system, and you should be able to get the OTA update. If you come across the "Please wait 24 hours and try again" message, just go manually set your date and time ahead, that should get it working.
Then you'll want to use this link to update to flash a 5.1.1 (rooted) system file (similar to the way you did it before).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/development/root-easy-root-att-flex-2-5-1-1-t3178354
After a great deal of tediousness, you can install Titanium Backup and remove all of the bloatware. Obviously, be cautious, you might break things (and then you'll need to factory reset, yet again). In the near future I'll post a thread of all the bloatware I removed without any issue.
EDIT: I've created a freezable bloatware list for those of you unsure what's safe and what's not. The thread is here:
Ti Backup Bloatware Freeze List
Once you're done with that, if you're brave enough, you can install the XPosed framework (even though the bootloader is locked) using this link:
XPosed G Flex 2
The process is a bit sketchy, the extended periods of black screen are a bit foreboding, but it worked like a charm.
I am also in the same boat. Not receiving OTA, tried factory reset and date+1 doesn't work
Has anyone outside the US or AT&T network been able to update? Perhaps it works with a VPN? I haven't been able to update my brand new phone with zero modifications.
Im outside US, and i haven't got the OTA, i been trying changing the date and factory reset every now and then...
I will try a VPN and see how it goes.
Yes
When I returned to stock 5.0.1 I got the ATT OTA update. I'm in the US.
I don't claim to know the intricacies of flashing, but there are H950 5.1.1 system images floating around these boards. Could you flash one of those while on stock 5.0.1? I'm not sure. We do have an unbrick tool though so you'd probably be able to recover.
Let me know if anyone skips the part where they let the phone update itself, and go straight to flashing 5.1.1.
I just bought this phone brand new in the box because I heard the update was out on ATT, not for me I guess.
If you're already on 5.1.1 and you try to recover with the 5.0.1 image you will brick your phone.
As far as receiving the update notification on the AT&T version, I had to change the date forward a few days. I would check for updates after each date change and eventually got the notification. If that doesn't work, do a factory reset and try again.

Sounds like a direct flash upgrade is a no go then. I also set my device forward a few days (like a week) to get the update.
I Just ordered this phone and will be using it on cricket wireless, does anyone know if I'll need an active at&t sim card to get the 5.1.1 update or will I be able to get the update with my cricket wireless sim card?
Nope
Using a Straight Talk SIM myself and I got the OTA update just fine.

It seems the update notification is coming from Google Play services. I wouldn't recommend disabling that package.

10i is the latest, you can root 10d following the guide here by tungkick, it applies to 10d as well, and read autoprimes all in one here. A video on YouTube helped as well. I would root, install twrp on the build you are on then use autoprimes zip to go to 10i located here.

Does 10i fix gps? I was concerned about gps coming from the S6 Edge. They were warning me in the store about all these issues that the G5 supposedly has (not gps but other things) and I had read my self about everybody's gps problems. So I tried it out a little while ago and it seemed like it was bouncing around a little bit while standing still but while driving it worked pretty accurately, other than the google navigation arrow being sideways in the wrong direction.

I ended up fixing it. 4 hours later lol. First time I messed up because I forgot to unlock boot loader. Second time i was having issues with the storage encryption after flashing autoprimes H83010i......so I had to redo everything all over again from scratch. I kept messing things up because I wasn't able to thoroughly read because I was on someone else's computer who was hovering over me and trying to make me hurry. Finally landed on 10i rooted, installed xposed, adaway etc.........after all these flashes battery pulls etc I'm not sure it was so good for the health of my phone lol. Also I'm pretty sure there's an update that just was released yesterday so it feels kinda pointless. Anyways, is there a way to disable the annoying messages on reboot and or change the boot screens?
Sighs, I really don't want to have to go through all of that just to get rid of an update message. Is there any other way? My phone is perfect on 10d.
Curious before I apply it.
I am curious how did you applied .

Okay, so you haven't updated yet, thank god. I literally wiped out my phone and missed the signup. I'd probably pay for you it.

I actually have updated. The update is rather quite nice and super snappy. You can now also send .gifs through stock messenger. I signed up on the wife's phone for the beta as well that's where/how I will grab the .bin

Apparently once it's downloaded it converts it to zip and puts it in /data/fota

Pfft most likely not and what's point?? You do realise it's a beta build right?? There's most likely gonna be lil issues here and there. Look how long it took just to get root on 7.0 and you think there's gonna be root on a beta?? C'mon man

Probably didn't, maybe next device hehe. Have to change their process again, possibly; however the command we exploited to escalate our adb commands can't necessarily be blocked/disabled as it is required. They may however drop the privileges that the command has, and take our leverage point away.

I tried to pull it but the issue is the update.bin file is in /data/fota which cannot be accessed and I tried to root to grab it but current root method deletes everything and there is nothing I could do about it. I also tried to get update when I was on Sampwnd firmware but Software Update threw error saying I had modified system.

I have already grabbed the bin but its completely useless for now because It can't be flashed at all. signature verification failed and missing footer. fota app on phone does something to bin file to convert it to flashable bin file but I still could not figure it out. But I wonder if anything on .bin file could be helpful for root
EDIT: I grabbed .bin file for S8 though not S8+ and I grabbed it directly from FOTA server.
I've updated to Oreo, however I can flash TWRP through Odin, but going in recovery only shows stock recovery. Haven't tried to flash CF-AutoRoot with Odin.
Just got a notification that a new update is available for AT&T H910.
Anybody take the plunge?
I still haven't rooted ... was going to try Alpha. Now waiting for Super 2.0. Hoping ARB is still 0.

Yea I got it but rooted with alpha. Its only 64mb. Probably a security update. For a split second I was like, "holy crap its oreo!!" Then remembered that would be a pipe dream.
can you guys supply a dump so I could update SuperV20 to it?
@hawkeye29 Can you pull it and post a link? I still can't completely extract it yet, but I can tell if it increments ARB.
Despite what some people think, AT&T updates aren't encrypted, they just use two forms of compression .. it is really weird, but also extremely efficient.

Here's the FOTA folder
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QpDNBgzr4odnAwij_EjemwAxVOSE8exL/view?usp=drivesdk
What astounds me is that both lg and AT&T have outdated software information listed. Att still has 10r and lg has 10l on one site and 10q on their opensource site. Slackers.
Still ARB 0
The update installed by itself. Hmm ....
@runningnak3d do you think it is feasible to be able to extract the dlpkgfile within Linux? It would be so much easier to pull the files from that than use lgup.
Eventually I should be able to, but it hasn't been a priority. They use BSDIFF, IMGDIFF and gzip. It is a matter of figuring out which diff is done first, is the first diff compressed or the second diff compressed, and the order the diffs are made.
It may be something as simple as using BSDIFF on some partitions, and IMGDIFF on others.
LMAO - while I was typing this, I figured I would type android bsdiff imgdiff into Google -- this is what I got.
It will be very easy to extract it....
EDIT: extract is the wrong word. It will be very easy to apply this patch to a dump of 10t -- or it would be, but I just don't even have that time right now. I *REALLY* want to finish the lafsploit so I can move on to things like this

I went back to full stock to do this. Unfortunately ATT is giving me some bs that the update isn't available. Probably because it already downloaded once today and refuses to check the server again. I'll attempt to update tomorrow and post a public link to the dump.

LG bridge doesn't work with the h910. I believe the model has to have a kdz available for it to work. Most of the useful LG stuff doesn't work well for the h910. LG backup has problems for me and there isn't an update center.
Just tried again to be sure. Just says "unable to check software version"
Hey I checked again for the update and it attempted to but returned nothing. ATT is really pissing me off. If someone else who has already updated can dump it you will probably get your hands on those files faster. Otherwise I'll check again in another 24 hours

Thanks for the heads up. Even factory reset again to check for the update another time and still no dice. Hopefully they will push the update again and I can grab it for all of us.
Here are the official details for the update:
https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tut.../id/stepbystep_KM1171033?make=LG&model=LGH910
My phone still refuses to "see" it. I have been doing the check update thing for a few days now.

Still no update for my phone. Is this normal? I used to get updates right away. Is there a way to force the update?
