What is the best KATKiss ROM? I'm using KatKiss-6.0_TF700T_029 and the Bluetooth get wonkey when playing Youtube Videos the audio will get out of Sync or the video will start to stutter after playing one video, also sometimes even when the Tablet is right next to the Bluetooth Speaker the audio will keep cutting and out. This does not happen on my Samsung Galaxy J7. I had 7.1 installed but did not like the fact that it does not have the Flashlight option like all other versions of Android have had since Kit Kat. Why did they remove the Flashlight function when that is something most people want and use?
The best Katkiss rom is the one that works for what you need it for. BT is wonky on MM and Nougat for this tablet, cannot remember if it still worked fine on KitKat but I believe it did, so try that. Otherwise your only choice would be to flash back to a stock based rom like CROMi-X. YouTube will probably work well on it, but everything else will be pretty slow compared to Tim's roms.... Your choice...
BTW, I have never used the flashlight. Ever. Didn't even notice it was missing. It's a mistake to assume that one feature you love is something universally needed

Hey everyone,
I've been using different roms from XDA for awhile now, first on my HTC Legend and over the last few months on my Infuse, so I'm not really new to this.
Here's my problem:
Whenever I use an AOSP rom (Miui 2.3.2b (Galnet), Miui 4.0, Miui Shock N' Awe, CM7, CM7 Nightlies etc.) I get a weird crackling/static noise when making calls (not when on speaker phone). Every time before I install one of these roms I use Odin and go back to stock, wipe everything properly, fix permissions etc.
I've tried disabling DSP, enabling DSP, uninstalling DSP, I've tried every setting possible, I've also tried Voodoo Sound etc. Nothing seems to work, in call volume doesn't make a difference and I've literally tried every single modem currently available and including the newest one UCLB3. I've spent hours googling and searching for an answer and nothing seems to work. I've tried OC'ing, under clocking, fresh installs etc.
Does anyone have any ideas? I can confirm that sound works fine on Zeus, Aeon, Revolution, stock roms etc but that's not what I want to use (personal preference) so it can't be hardware related, the only thing I can think of is the kernel. Is there an AOSP kernel that will fix this issue or even something I can try? The community v8 one wouldn't work with Miui and I don't think Entropys will either.
Please HELP! I'm desperate! I know there's a few others with the same problem.
I'm thinking hardware problem. There was a thread about this waaaaay back and one guy said he got rid of by running a decent strength magnet along the ear peice. Something about metal shavings or whatever. I never tried it tho and I still encounter the crackles every one in a long while. Just some input.
Try a pizza taco sometime, if you don't know what it is, look it up then
I don't think it can be hardware related, it ONLY happens on those roms, it doesn't happen if I hook up headphones or put it on speaker phone, it also doesn't happen if I play music etc.
IMO it has to be something that comes with those roms or the kernel it uses.
I've been playing around with my friend's Infuse after fixing the power button/boot loop issue. I did flash it to CM11, though it did run beautifully, found there were issues with the video recorder (choppy). I brute forced it back (an epic battle with the AT&T logo loop) to rooted GB stock with Zen's Synthesis kernal and CWM.
I'm looking for the most stable rom that doesn't have camera issues. From what I was reading that it is hit or miss from ICS and up. Should I just leave it as is? I'm thinking about flashing a GB rom like Aeon or Revenant. The biggest complaint with this phone was battery drain, so I got all of the bloat off with Titanium.
I'm asking because my friend needs a daily driver with no problems--she doesn't know how to fix things if something arises.

I found CarbonROM to be less buggy than Beanstalk 4.4.2 or CM 10.1, but then again, I didn't extensively run/test it like the others, including the camcorder. I did hear that you cannot do HD recording with it. If that is a problem, should stick with stock Gingerbread.
Lollipop may change things, but Eclipse does use Froyo as a baseline for software requirements by default. It may be GB now, but even then you would be safe for a year until Android 5.1 comes out (Gingerdeath won't happen overnight).
Thanks!
I'm more apt to stick as close to stock as possible on other people's devices because we all know strange things can and do happen. But I just couldn't help myself trying to update it as far as possible. I'll see how she feels about the HD recording and take it from there.
I have been experiencing very slow and poor performance from my Asus TF300T.
I have Android 4.2.1 instsalled in, (stock rom) after recently attempting to install lollipop. I did manage to install lollipop but saw that the it was buggy and kept on crashing so I went back to the stock rom install but it seems its very slow.
I am not really sure what I need to improve it. Most times, I tap on an app-icon and it just sits there or I have to tap multiple times before it opens up. or the tablet will crash and reboot. Its unlocked, and I can install ROMs using adb or through twrp.
My only option is to toss this POS and buy a newer model of something different. My use of it is pretty light, mostly streaming videos & surfing.
Please help.

I'm using KatKiss right now and its pretty stable. I don't use this tablet much anymore though, so its not a daily driver for me.
Any 4.4 custom ROM should do well, though I'd still take CM over anything else.
5.x isn't fast, but for my use case it's almost as good as stock, plus it's beautiful and has some extended touchpad gestures I need.

I did have 4.4 custom ROM installed, which was very slow hence I went back to Stock 4.2, however its gotten worst. I dont even have that many apps installed or running so not really sure what else I can do, other than throwing this POS out of my bedroom window. I dont do much on it other than surfing and watching videos. Are there any lightweight ROMs that are not so heavy resource intensive that I can test and see how they pan out?
Thanks again.

I'd recommend KatKiss 4.4, it runs quite well on my tablet
We don't make mistakes, We just have happy accidents.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot again, with a clean wipe and see if that helps.
I've got a K1 tablet and the video works fine, Tried multiple cords/tvs and the only thing i can think of is that it's an issue with Bliss 6.4 (ROM) Any help would be appreciated.
Is there still no HDMI Audio Out support for custom roms? Also, if i was to flash a "Stock Rom" and killed the kill switch would the Audio work?
Unfortunately, custom roms still don't have support for HDMI audio. That's what I did though, I flashed back the Stock Rom and now the HDMI audio works.
I assume that getting rid of the killswitch wouldn't cause any issues? as my K1 was recalled a long time ago just trying to cover bases before i commit to anything haha
The K1 was never recalled and has no "killswitch".
Okay, well I know 100% that this tablet was recalled, But you didn't answer my question.
Sounds like you got it.
Yes and no, I know the tablet has a killswitch that's why it has a different ROM on it. My second question was would removing the killswitch from a stock ROM cause any issues?
Did you read the kill switch thread?
Yeah, i also have it bookmarked, I don't understand why it's so hard for you to just answer my simple question instead of running around in circles like this?
Hey guys, i have been a member here for quite some years, and have flashed a lot of phones in my days but i just bought a nvidia shield 32gb LTE first edition tablet and when i got it it seemed quite fast but then i went and factory reset it and as soon as i load it up with apps it gets so slow.
Its even slower than my 100usd chinese pipo tablet.
I have tried several factory resets, tried enable gpu on screen and ram killer apps but still its slow.
Tried installing 128gb memory card wich are fast and tried that as main memory but still no luck.
Also es file explorer really kills it.
Never had any problem with es on any phone before but now it just kills it performance so i had to get a different file explorer.
But, i have now given up on this original nougat rom.
Its time to flash.
But i dont really play games, i have a shield tv so this is my bedroom look at streaming media tablet so i dont need a controller to work with it so thats not an issue..
Its bone stock original, what rom would you recommend and i prefer one thats not rooted as i dont need it and i do have an app that i can stream live tv and it dont wanna work on rooted devices.
But if its rooted and thats the way it needs to be im also ok with loosing that live stream tv app especially since now the tablet feels unusable.
Please a quick tutorial and a good rom suggestion and i will be so happy. Thank you!!
well, dead forum isnt it?
I put on TWRP and then i flashed it trying several of the ROMS here but the one who worked the best With LTE and no other stupid isuues was the LINEAGE rom..
Its very good.
I tried the Stock rom here, but a lot of problem With that, i tried several others mentioned on the romboard but most of them didnt include LTE so there goes that..
I find it annoying the Lineage is rooted or unsecured kernel as then my tvprovider dont like my tablet so i canty use their app.
But im guessing its better having a quick and snappy tablet vs one that lags beats my live streaming every day..
