What does Generic LAM firmware means? - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

What does Generic LAM firmware means?
and whats the different between it and the customized version ?
also what does the "R2B", "R3B", "R4B" refer to at the end of the firmware names?
thanks.

"Generic" means the firmware is not altered according to the local flavors, while "Customized" implies otherwise.
R<X>B is just the revision reference of the firmware.

[Q] Install Other country firmware over stock Country firmware?

So I've just got my new Galaxy SII plus today and I'm sorta a total newb when it comes to the world of flashing . I'm wondering if it's possible to flash a stock firmware from another country in this case possibly a Hong Kong (I9105PZSAMH1) firmware, over a stock firmware from a different country/region of the phones origin (in this case some European countries (Italy, France, Belgium, United Kingdom etc. with the firmware number I9105PXXAMC2).
If I were to do this, would there be any side affects (like bricking) or would the phone work fine and exactly the same as it should be?
Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks in advance

I just want to confirm, if I were to flash another stock from a different region, would I be flashing the radio (the baseband version) from that region as well?
Because I'm in Australia, and because I'm flashing a HK stock firmware over the European firmware.
and I'm unsure if the HK baseband version will work just as well as the current baseband version that I'm using. (Which is working very well)
Because apparently the radio towers in HK are closer together there, where as here they are further apart.

That code refers to the region:
WW- Worldwide (any region)
TW - Taiwan
US - United States
CN - China
Does it matter which firmware that i choose?

You should choose the region that corresponds to where you live. What you should be worried about is, however, the version number that you are installing because you need to know if it is compatible. Can you send a screenshot of the "About tablet" page and the exact filename of the Stock ROM?
Here is the information on the tablet i attracted it . The custom rom that i installed is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901784
Thanks in advance

What is the difference between the releases on the same firmware?

I've noticed when looking through the various firmwares available on xperifirm that many of the same firmware versions have different releases eg 23.4.A.1.200_R3C, 23.4.A.1.200_R5C, 23.4.A.1.200_R7C
Can someone explain what the difference is between the R3C, R5C and R7C?

Marshmallow OTA - RETEU zip

Aussies have started to receive the OTA for Marshmallow. I have uploaded the ZIP straight from /cache
Blur_Version.23.21.12.lux_reteu.reteu.en.EU
You can grab it here:
https mega.nz /#!FU811TpZ!rStl9TZ0SfqpBKcMm_vdv7V9RVWa2TWOBqlgblUuRQc
(I can't post links yet)
I should be able to.

Is this a single SIM or dual SIM firmware? I just checked and it looks like both are sold in austria.
EDIT: Given his only other post, he owns a single SIM device.

Thanks for posting the link
Sorry, Aussie == Australia. We only had Single SIM sold exclusively through Vodafone.
The version name is similar to UK set which I'm using right now (reteu.reteu.en) but I have flashed my phone to Indian 6.0 and enabled the dual sim
This doesn't seem to flash over any of the available EU firmwares.
Its looking for a reteu LPD 23.118-12 base and all the firmware available are LPD 23.118-10.
If anyone does have a reteu LPD 23.118-12 be great to get a link.

There isn't a reteu with LPD 23.118-12 anywhere i can see on that page.
Shouldn't be too long until the official UK release then hopefully.

There's no EU version yet. If you can't wait, you could flash the Asian version instead
On this post says that many Italian users received OTA (for me not yet).
In Italy there's only single sim version:
maybe anyone have pack to share??

I also uploaded the French Dual SIM 6.0 OTA update I received on my device to the GitHub page (but not mentioned yet on the README there): https://github.com/motoxplay/stock/...-24.11.18.lux_retasia_ds.retasiaall.en.03.zip

Just wonder if you have actually tried flashing the Aussie OTA over the reteu LPD 23.118-10? I have got the similar problem too. If you haven't, I don't mind flash the LPD23.118-10 reteu just to try.

Hello, can you explain me what is differences between below firmwares??
XT1032_FALCON_AMXPE_5.1_LPB23.13-56_cid12_CFC.xml.zip
XT1032_FALCON_CCAWS_5.1_LPB23.13-58_cid9_CFC.xml.zip
XT1032_FALCON_O2DE_5.1_LPB23.13-56.1_cid7_CFC.xml.zip

I'm not sure because may these firmwares are from different carrier that yours. But yes is for xt1032
The firmware images are explained here:
[INDEX] Moto G [Falcon][Peregrine] Factory Firmware Images
Any XT1032 Firmware Image can be flashed on XT1032, but it's better sticking to one for your region when possible.
