Best native (X86) Android for Core-M Tablet? - General Questions and Answers

I have a Dell Latitude 11 5175 with a Core M5-6y57 and I'm planning to multi install Android on it along with Windows.
I want it to run natively, not emulated or visualized under Windows.
Which one is to recommend?
I tried Android X86 7.1 RC2 but only got a black screen when I tried booting it live from USB, so I didn't bother installing it.
What else is there that works perfectly with this processor?

Did you manage to find a version that will run ok an the 5175 as I'd like to do the same

The current android-x86 8.1 r3 x64 build runs good and finaly the power button works.

Android on Pc

This is probably not the right place for this. but I would like to put android on my pc. I know its possible. It wont work on my 64bit machine. but i tried on an older desktop and it starts to work, but boot loops at android screen.
Since android is designed for ARM, and no x86 you'll need to look into a project like, http://www.android-x86.org/ . May I ask why you want android on a PC though? Just run a regular linux distro. Check out Ubuntu it's probably the easiest/straight forward distro you can get.
(Personally I run gentoo, but it's not a good intro to linux)
i heard that android doesn't support external screens. i run it off virtualbox and it runs great. i think you can set it up to dual boot through virtualbox or vmware.
I've had android running on several x86 machines installed straight to the hard drive even hooked up to a 46 inch ldc tv. These were p3/p4 machines with intel chip sets. I have to say it isn't all that great with out a touch screen.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
really? i ran into problems when i installed it. it would boot then the screen would blank after the android boot screen. on my one computer it hangs on the install in the middle of listing devices.

Did you have an Intel chipset? Intel graphics? I don't believe it works with nvidia/ati.
at the moment Android x86 does NOT work for anything but intel *of course unless your using vmware, or vbox*
however...
If you can find buildable drivers for your hardware, you can just build and 'cook' it, just like we do for the hero, and KAZAM! Works.
If anybody has some prebuilt nvidia drivers hook me up! I wanna see how fast it can go (cause framebuffer sucks..)
i would like to do it too!

Was this just a clean install from the .iso into VMWare? I'm guessing android-x86-4.3-20130725.iso from http://www.android-x86.org/download
Yes with the modification at boot to make it 1080p. Need to work out the best DPI for it though.
Running on virtual box but not well.
Anyone knows how to rotate screen there? often the game rotates it and then it becomes unusable as mouse directions also reverse.

I know this might be a bit late but I found holding F9-F12 works to force a set rotation.
VirtualBox is working fine. But where i'm very interested is the USB pass-through. I wonder how it performs vs VBox one.
I also know VMware got a virtual USB sniffer. It could be awesome to emulate/create/debug/use custom USB devices.
In example, i'm using an USBAudio sound card. Due to the actual limitation of Android, i'm not able to adress it from SDK (sadly !) and i must do from NDK. VirtualBox fails miserably when i try to open my USBAudio class device (the VM is crashing).
Does you USB devices are working with VMWare ?
Got success installing android 4.6 on a VMware 9. The problem is Apps installing.
I can install apps (.apk) from the internet like SnapPea but not from my computer (no explore) although I modified Android.vmx
Code:
ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000" to "vlance"
Any idea?

How to install Windows CE7 UberCE7, Windows Xp,7,8 and Ubuntu on android tablet?

Hi all,
I have an GoTab GTD7-C chinese tablet with the worst kit kat ever. Yes its with kit kat 4.4.4. but most of the apps and other things does not work properly. Its laggy and there is missing things. It does not work with bluetooth devices, sometimes I manage to send files, but very difficult. Wifi range is the worst :X., if I am 10 meters away from Wifi router I cant connect with it and etc. Tethering does not work. I am with the latest stock ROM. I have preinstaled it once, because of my experiments of installing directly ubuntu... offcorse with no success.
The tablet is with 1,2 GHz ARM® Cortex™-A9 ; RK3168 CPU ; Onboard Mail 400 Graphics Chip ; 8 GB Internal memory but 5 usable, 1 GB RAM rooted.
The only thing that worked well and I managed to run is Windows CE with Bosch app. I tried all kind of apps to run Linux without any success.
I sow few videos with installed (not running inside android trough vnc or Limbo PC and etc.) Ubuntu, Fedora and Windows CE. But I haven't really found working tutorial.
The Idea is completely to remove the android os OR Dual Boot two OS. Like Android and Ubuntu OR Android and Windows Ce7. Offcorse if there is way to install Win7,8 or 10 will be even grate.
So I need full tutorial and working links with ROMs, images and etc. Because I have spend hours and hours watching videos just on starting tablets with Win CE or ubuntu, but not how to's. I believe there is way, chinese do it, so I believe it is possible
PS: Dont ask why I dont by Win 7 tablet or et.c.... Android tablets in my country are cheaper..... that's why
Thanks in Advance for the help. I really appreciate it.

Windows 10 OS ARM version for our XZP

I think the title says it.
When do you think we will dual boot android and Windows?
Can this be hacked whe the HP Envy 2 will be available?
Why would you want windows on an Xperia? The simple truth is no one has done it cause so much work would have to be put into it. Also windows 10, has a terrible market for apps. Better off just downloading the Microsoft apps if that's what u want
Probably because the latest windows 10 arm version can run standard Windows .exe 32bit applications.
I am searching for a Windows 10 port too, but i can't find one. I will try and make some experiments with my Sony.

Bliss OS (or any other Android x86) on Samsung 500T

Hi all,
I'm trying a few days to install Bliss OS and others Android x86 OSes (Prime OS) with no success on a Samsung Active Smart 500T Tabletbook. (Atom Z2760, 2gb RAM, 64gb SSD, Intel GMA HD). Always downloading x86 images or Atom compatibles.
Secure boot is deactivated on BIOS. I tried to create a bootable Pendrive using Rufus with all settings variations and none of them work.
It boots but when i select any option (live or install) i get always this message: "Trying to terminate EFI services again" and locks up.
Do you know what i can do here? Windows 8 and 10 on this tablet are working very slow, so i wanted to give it a new life, because it still has a lot good set of features. Thanks
