In @franciscofranco 's tweet today he's gone after Xiaomi and Google full swing! AndroidPolice followed suite and released an article on the lack of sources for our device.
So I'm thinking this is prime time to extract some sources.
What I suggest is everyone tag Xiaomi and google in a reply to his tweet, and retweet + like all his tweets. We can put a lot of pressure!

Why did you think it was a good idea to post another thread for the same topic?
Xiaomi just jerking us I feel like a fool to buy that phone better I brought moto g5s+

Hi everyone,
Today will be marked in history as the first day that the Xiaomi company decided to begin open sourcing its Android application development to the masses.
Head on over to: https://github.com/MiCode for the run down of apps which have already been made open source. Other applications and code is likely to be published in the very near future.
We would like to thank the engineers, admins and other staff at Xiaomi for their continued support and just to say thanks for listening to our feedback.
Currently we have a very close working relationship with the developers / test engineers and product managers at Xiaomi. Your queries are being passed on so please continue to give us your comments.
Thanks,
Mark

The MIUI devs are slowly releasing the sources to MIUI stuff. Will there be Wimax support? I sure hope so!

wow awesome development!
Haha, nice title
I see me switching back to miui in the near future...
It's reasons like this that don't make me miss jumping on the Verizon galaxy nexus

Hopefully not butcher it.
I'd be happy with 4G capability on it, and that's it.

Hy all,
Everyone knows the GS4 is a very high tec. device but is it still worth it without CM10 ?

Let's hope so. Because lots of XDA members are considering upgrading to the S4 only if it has a good developer support.
But like it says in the link, we can't know for sure until it's released. Maybe an answer around mid may *crossed fingers*

Seems like Samsung's really starting to flex their muscles with their sources now. What a shame. This one still does what all Android phones should be doing... having an SD card slot & a removable battery. Let's see what happens in time.

There is no point of this thread as cm team said THEY DO NOT PRE ANNOUNCE SUPPORT FOR ANY CELL IN THEIR GOOGLE + circle
So saying SS has flexed their muscle, creating unfriendly "environment" phones for devs. CM team quit due to the hardship will lead to many xda devs not support the phone. Now imagine that all mfg. such Sony, HTC, Motorola, ..... all flex their muscle ........................ then all of you will jump to iPhone?
As you may know, Google has announced the dev preview of Android O: https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2017/03/first-preview-of-android-o.html .
When the G4 Plus was announced, it was confirmed to have an Android O update. I just thought I would bring this back up. Now we just need to see if Lenovo will keep their promise, and how long we will have to wait after O is released. :good:
Most haven't even gotten nougat yet can't wait to see this
You maaaybe will see O by July of 2018. Maaaybe.
Anyway, I'm still kinda excited to see if we'll get a port of the preview here on XDA, fingers crossed!
Or, maybe (and I use this lightly) they'll skip N altogether and jump us on O straight out. (One can only dream...)

The truth, with Lenovo I do not expect the update, it's like Samsung, it will launch when they remember the G4 Plus

If the Moto G4 gets O, I don't think it will be fromLenovo, at least in the US. Maybe from one of the fantastic developers on XDA (which is how I got Nougat).

I would hardly call this proof. That allegedly "leaked" poster could have been made by anybody. I challenge you to find something verifiable from Motorola confirming your claim.

Dude do you even read the BS you are linking to? That link clearly states this poster is leaked. If you reverse search the image all you get is a bunch of sketchy android websites all quoting each other. Not a single one connects the poster directly to motorola. So, again, I challenge you to do that and find verifiable information directly from Motorola that the G4 will be updated to O.

That poster is absolutely real. I have it in physical because it came with my G4 plus and it was also being used as promotion in the store where Lenovo staff where working. So yes, the "BS" you are arguing is fake it's actually real. You should consider informing yourself first before being rude to a person who actually has some proof, and also read the XDA guidelines where it says you have to be polite and nice with others around here. If you want more proof I can show a photo of the poster. Good night.
Meanwhile some days back I had a bit of chat with the moto care and according to this operator, athene (xt1643) will get N 7.1 which will fix the problems users face with N 7.0 it'll be good if it happens and we have the 7.1 ROMs already.
The chat:

Mi A1 's "kernel sources realising in the coming weeks" thanks to Android Authority.
There's a good news for all the Mi A1 owners and devs that are craving for the kernel sources to be realised thanks to a article published by Android Authority pointing the issue out. Xiaomi say the sources will be out in the coming weeks.

I was hoping that they would be a litte more specific. "in the coming weeks" can mean anything between next week and last week of 2018.

Exactly! I have an Honor 8 Pro, the company said on 15 Jan that the update to Oreo is coming soon. Still we have no chance of getting the update this month or the next, so they are all very vague terms.
I think they have fk*ed up with Oreo and are taking time to release a better system, hope their kernel will have no issues like their devices like Mi4i.
The full credit goes to Francisco. Kernel developer. Not Android Authority

Good news. Can't wait to see what the talented devs will create for this device, knowing that they will also have an Android P build as well. Should help the device last some while.
Thanks to Francisco Franco for calling them out, and for AA repeating the callout and crediting Francisco for it. All help is appreciated.

Here is OnePlus' official statement clarifying what'll happen to the developer seeding program:
"Apologies, we weren’t as clear as we could have been. We’ve temporarily scaled back our developer program while we work out how to make it even better in the future. We’ll be updating the selection criteria and communication channels with developers in our seeding program for better co-operation. We will restart the program and select Devs based on the new criteria and will work on providing the best possible support to community development efforts for OnePlus devices." – OnePlus Spokesperson
