Anyone else having issues flashing Xposed? - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

You may, or may not, have noticed Xposed for SDK27 came out today I for one, am hyped. However, I cannot get it to install. The app gives a 404 error when I try to download though through there. I can download through the official DB, but that doesn't work either, gives me a 'failed to mount /system'. I'm assuming there's some perms issue, but i'd rather not mess with it. I'm on a Verizon Pixel 2.
Edit:Systemless is out if you're having issues installing. But you won't pass safety-net.

The Xposed zip failed to flash in twrp for me too. I'm on a Google bought device.
Edit
I get the same 404 error when attempting to download and install through the Xposed installer app.

Yeah i was running it for almost a week now on my Pixel2.
You cannot flash it through TWRP, the zip installer doesn't support A/B partition yet.
I used to install it through Xposed Installer App, if it doesn't show up the framework screen, check "Show outdated versions", copy the zip file to "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/cache/downloads/framework" and re-open the app.

Ok wait, it can't flash now because read only fs. To flash it through recovery I would need to restore stock recovery, right?

Thanks wanam, it worked perfectly!!

@wanam
Are there any modules that you have had success running on you pixel 2?

Darn. Framework shows that it is installed OK, but whenever I try to download a module the installer forces closed.

Download the Xposed zip, copy it and paste it here
"/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/cache/downloads/framework"
In the Xposed installer app settings, check off "show outdated versions"
Then the zip that you posted will show up in the app to be installed.
Hope that makes sense...

Upon that, I'm faced with this issue:

Wanam
What's the trick getting /system/framework read only when installing from Xposed installer.
Thanks
Edit: those getting the read only error using a regular pixel 2 or all xl? This might help them figure it out.

I was able to get mine installed using the steps from wanam. Had to place the file in the framework folder. After that it installed fine

Would be interesting to know if anyone with 2 xl has been able to install it. It seems to be an XL issue since it has not been tested yet officially.
Like it was said it's a beta. Can't always expect it to work the first time.

Xposed on 5.0.1

Has anyone had success installing xposed framework on the m8 running a stock rooted lollipop rom? I have tried multiple times following the guide in the xposed thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 with no success.
It worked for me on adrenaline 2.1 but not on a couple of other roms I tried.

I downloaded the files from the link I posted above..
Install the xposed installer .apk
Reboot from within the installer and grant root privileges.
Flash the framework via TWRP
I have also tried to flash the framework first, install the .apk, and reboot from within the installer to grant root.
Neither way has worked for me.

I have it running on stock rooted, here are the steps I took.
Flashed the xposed arm zip file in TWRP
Installed the 3.0 alpha2 apk
Once installed I went into "framework" and hit soft reboot.
Once the phone was done I installed a module/made it active and soft reboot again.
I don't think you have to take these exact same steps but this is just what I did following a YT video. In "framework" it always says "Installation is only possible maunally via recovery for now." in red letters. That confused me into thinking it was not installed properly but all the modules I'm using are working fine.

I have tried to install this exact same way. After flashing the framework and installing the alpha .apk, I activated greenify and rebooted.
Upon launching greenify, I saw a yellow dialogue box that said auto hibernation service has stopped (auto hibernation worked fine before trying to use xposed) I attempted to enable the xposed features and a screen popped up telling me to install the xposed framework.
I have since restored my nand backup I made before flashing xposed, and greenify is back to auto hibernating, just cant use the xposed features.

Have you tried installing other modules? Looking around the greenify sections here on XDA seems it wasn't ready for 5.0, but there is a beta thread that you may want to take a look at.

Viper4Android driver can't install

I have installed busybox, install SuperSU lastest binary, and my selinux is set to permissive. It will not let me install the driver any more and it used to able to correctly. I've tried multiple apps as well. Only occurs on the idol3 as far as I know. If anyone can find an answer, that would be much appreciated.

Like i said in the other thread it might have something to with the SU latest binary update v2. 56. Try to reflash v2.46 but don't update the binary or you can just updated to v2. 68 beta which I'm using right now with no problem.

Which viper zip did you use? I downloaded one, flashed it, but it didn't show up in my apps. I'm having the same problem as the OP
I just pulled the one I used and am uploading to dropbox for you. Inside the zip is an apk containing the Viper app and a zip file containing it's guts that you flash with TWRP. https://www.dropbox.com/s/b3bu0mzn371crnf/Viper4Android- Sound.rar?dl=0
Hope this helps. I was able to update normally once Viper drivers were initially installed on the phone

[TUTORIAL]...Viper4Android proper installation on stock ROM

As a few days frustration and zillion tries are behind me let me explain proper instalation of this sound engine. Just to notice that you DON'T need permissive kernel for that because I installed it on my stock German ROM and now works in French Orange ROM G935FXXU1APBF as well !
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE ON CLEAN STOCK ROM :
At first...
You need to DELETE not to freeze sound alive and adapt sound.
In build.prop find the lines or add them as follows ;
Ipa.decode=false
tunnel.decode=false
lpa.use-stagefright=false.
.
1.You need to root your SM-G935F device with newest SuperSU by ChainFire located here. So, download and flash TWRP recovery from here and flash SuperSU.Wipe dalvik, wipe cache, then Restart your device.
2.From Playstore download and install latest STERICSON BUSYBOX. Install busybox in default su/xbin and give root permission.Restart your device again.
3. Download from official page Viper4android version 2.4.0.1 from HERE
4. Using Root explorer copy Viper4Android in folder PRIV-APP and give it permission 0644 rw-r--r-- (see attached image)
5.Restart your device
6. Open V4A and install driver when it asks...don't exit app or DON'T TOUCH anything else, just Restart your device.
7. Open V4A and go to Settings - UI Setting - Expert Mode
8. In some occasions V4A will ask for new driver installation...Install again and restart device.
9. Use your V4A wisely !
IMPORTAINT NOTIFICATION !
If you previously messed up with V4A or rooting,I recommend fresh ROM installation from scratch.
If V4A constantly offers to install driver, it means you did not properly rooted your device !
VIPER4ANDROID IS NOT WORKING ON STOCK PLAYER !
That's all.If you didn't read post carefuly, there is no any support else, because it is not needed.
Followed your guide, didn't ask to install a new driver after step 8 and viper is not working any suggestions?

In some cases it doesn't ask for another driver installation after entering expert mode.Did you try another player?
If you don't used it on clean rom then it could be anything.

Because I simply download the latest APK and install it as a normal app rather than copy across and setting permissions.
I then download and flash the ZIP from the below site:
http://androiding.how/how-to-fix-viper4android-selinux-policy-issues-on-lollipop/
After that I installed the driver, rebooted and all was good.
I was the first\one of the first, to flash v4a on our device.
I've already created a tutorial thread for this in the guide section. People might find it easier, no need to make adjustments to build.prop for example, it's automatic.

I'm running version 90.1-beta3 systemless for SDK 26 installed from Magisk.
Same but no app icon appears. . Any recommendations?
Can you launch it from within the Xposed installer?
Xposed shows as installed within magisk but no icon for Xposed.
I think you also need to install the Xposed Installer. At least I did. It'll provide you with the UI to install and manage modules. I installed it from the link below. Just pick the one that matches the version you installed in Magisk.

How to install Xposed ?

Hello everyone, I have rooted and installed TWRP in my galaxy j7 2016 (sm-j710fn).
I installed Xposed installer but when I go to "framework" the "install/update" button is grayed out and does not work.
I've checked, and I think (if I understood correctly) that I need to flash a zip file, but I dont know which one to take in a list of files on xda, which I can't post here.
Is this the right method (I dont want to brick my device) and if so, which file should I choose?
Thank you in advance.
