Has anyone had success installing xposed framework on the m8 running a stock rooted lollipop rom? I have tried multiple times following the guide in the xposed thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 with no success.
It worked for me on adrenaline 2.1 but not on a couple of other roms I tried.

What were the steps you took to install it?
I opened xsposed installer >framework > reboot. I only downloaded a couple of modules but they work.

I downloaded the files from the link I posted above..
Install the xposed installer .apk
Reboot from within the installer and grant root privileges.
Flash the framework via TWRP
I have also tried to flash the framework first, install the .apk, and reboot from within the installer to grant root.
Neither way has worked for me.

I have it running on stock rooted, here are the steps I took.
Flashed the xposed arm zip file in TWRP
Installed the 3.0 alpha2 apk
Once installed I went into "framework" and hit soft reboot.
Once the phone was done I installed a module/made it active and soft reboot again.
I don't think you have to take these exact same steps but this is just what I did following a YT video. In "framework" it always says "Installation is only possible maunally via recovery for now." in red letters. That confused me into thinking it was not installed properly but all the modules I'm using are working fine.

I have tried to install this exact same way. After flashing the framework and installing the alpha .apk, I activated greenify and rebooted.
Upon launching greenify, I saw a yellow dialogue box that said auto hibernation service has stopped (auto hibernation worked fine before trying to use xposed) I attempted to enable the xposed features and a screen popped up telling me to install the xposed framework.
I have since restored my nand backup I made before flashing xposed, and greenify is back to auto hibernating, just cant use the xposed features.

Have you tried installing other modules? Looking around the greenify sections here on XDA seems it wasn't ready for 5.0, but there is a beta thread that you may want to take a look at.

I also tried Xsense, and did not have any luck.

I reinstalled xposed, and updated greenify to beta 11. I also installed Sense 6 Toolbox beta. Everything seems to be working just fine.
My problem was using modules that were not updated to work with lollipop. Thanks for all your help!
Enough said really. If you don't know about GravityBox module, you can use it to perform a good amount customization on menus, button actions, lock screen, etc. For example, 30 volume step mod, circle battery with percentage, randomization of pin numbers on lockscreen, extended power menu with reboot options/screenshot/screen recording, etc.
Grab the regular (NOT the non FBE version).
It can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-gravitybox-v7-0-0-tweak-box-android-t3653953
If you don't have Xposed systemless installed, download and install the sdk25 version (download zip and add module from magisk manager) from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
As always, Xposed systemless framework enabled will cause SafetyNet to fail. So if you want to use Snapchat, Android Pay, Pokemon GO, Mario GO, new versions of Netflix, etc.; you'll have to disable the framework and then reboot currently. This hasn't been an issue for me so far!
Have you had any luck with any Magisk's modules? I can't get them to work. I can't get any black out apps to work via TRWP flashing either. It's gotta have sitting to do with the a/b partition, right?

The Xposed framework systemless v88.2 is the only module I actually have in magisk. Most magisk modules don't seem to have been updated for the magisk systemless 14+ betas.
Ok, after a couple of reboots, I got a few of them to work. BusyBox, Greenify, and the black themed injected YouTube back ground playback (which is amazing BTW) are all working now. Although, my phone doesn't pass safetynet now.
Does status bar colouring work on GravityBox on the Essential? I ask because colouring the status bar black across all system and apps would basically give an illusion of equal top and bottom bezels but with light up notifications and icons which imo would look pretty cool and hide the camera notch.

You need to install the xposed framework apk as well located in the attachments of the xposed systemless thread in order to enable and manage xposed modules. Found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268 and called XposedInstaller_3.1.4_Magisk.apk

This is great, thanks for the headsup. Being able to use GB+xp makes running stock an awesome experience AND I get to use the 360 cam.
The cam is really the catz azz .
don't use AP as my cc app works regardless.

On b3 and looking for a stable magisk that won't break my wifi .. so many headaches trying to get magisk to work on essential ..want Xposed again
I have no issues with Wifi, using Magisk 15.3, installed following the root guide.
Can gravitybox unlink system volume and ringtone volume in oreo? Thanks.
How do I add it in magisk? When I click the plus I can select the zip but?
You may, or may not, have noticed Xposed for SDK27 came out today I for one, am hyped. However, I cannot get it to install. The app gives a 404 error when I try to download though through there. I can download through the official DB, but that doesn't work either, gives me a 'failed to mount /system'. I'm assuming there's some perms issue, but i'd rather not mess with it. I'm on a Verizon Pixel 2.
Edit:Systemless is out if you're having issues installing. But you won't pass safety-net.

Yeah i was running it for almost a week now on my Pixel2.
You cannot flash it through TWRP, the zip installer doesn't support A/B partition yet.
I used to install it through Xposed Installer App, if it doesn't show up the framework screen, check "Show outdated versions", copy the zip file to "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/cache/downloads/framework" and re-open the app.

In the Xposed installer app settings, check off "show outdated versions"
Then the zip that you posted will show up in the app to be installed.
Hope that makes sense...

Hello Everyone!
It's been a while since i surf in here, just wanted to give a tutorial about how to install Xposed Framework in this Redmi Note 5, check this out ( do with your own risk! backup is a must, tested in the latest Pixel Experience ROM)
Before you proceed, you need to have Magisk installed and make sure its working in your device. Now lets install Xposed.
First Step:
- Download EdXposed Installer.apk and EdXposed Magisk zip module Here
- Download RiruCore Magisk zip Module Here
Second Step:
- First, install the EdXposed Installer first.
- Then, Flash the RiruCore magisk module.
- Lastly, Flash the EdXposed Magisk module then reboot.
Third Step:
- Open the EdXposed app and see if the status is green, that means the xposed framework is now working on your device, and you can proceed to download and install xposed module you want. (Note: this is still in beta, so that means not all Xposed Module will work 100%, install with caution or you can check in Here to see the list of what working and what not so far.)
-Enjoy.
Sorry if some of you already know on how to do this, i just wanted to share it with you guys, since i haven't see any of similar thread like this.
Have a good day, hope this one helps :good:
needy guide
Thanks for that...
But..
If have ore supported xposed please share us.

Tried this on my whyred running Pixel Experience Pie ROM. Worked as expected. Of the modules I tested, some are working fine, some aren't. GravityBox developer is working on a Pie release, waiting for that!

K-Klock. I use xXx no limits magisk rom that has an option to install it. Works great for centering, adding date, changing font. Bunch of stuff you can do with it. You do need to open the app first and configure your settings, build the apk within K Manager then open substratum and install.
If you are not aware, I always get the best results by building and installing, reboot, then enable.

Xposed and gravitybox is all you need and is the most reliable, fool proof method to get what you are requesting for clock, date, clock format, and clock locations. Plus I'm sure you will find other options useful as well. I use it for the clock, lock screen shortcuts, and to remove that god awe full blur that OP implemented on Android 10's lock screen music background art.

EdXposed is the xposed framework for Android 10 (maybe earlier too) it is installable through magisk. Which is kinda like magisk, you can download and use different modules. Use the 4.5.5 version I linked.
GravityBox is a module for EdXposed. Install it through EdXposed Manager. Only working version for A10 is the one I link. Beta 10.0.5.
So you have to go into K-Manager first before substratum. Select all your desired options, then hit the bottom right floating button. Now you have to go to substratum and install it.
