Looking at possibly wrapping my Pixel C that I just picked up locally on OfferUp. Has anyone had any experience with it? Don't care about the screen protector, just the wrap.
https://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-MilitaryShield-Protector-Anti-Bubble-Replacements/dp/B0169PKF4K/
It's okay, but it doesn't really protect the actual edges so eventually it gets dinged up and damaged. I ended up removing it and keep my tablet stored in a stretched leather iPad Air 2 case.
I wouldn't wrap this tablet, it needs every help to dissipate heat, I actually installed a heatsink where the SoC is to avoid thermal throttling.
I have the Skinomi one on my Pixel C and I haven't had any overheating issues. However, my tablet is mostly reserved for air travel, so I don't really worry about overheating.

So Ive been trying to decide on a new case for a while since I'm moving away from the otterbox defender that I usually buy for my phones. I came across this one. And it just came in this morning.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=171778123626&alt=web
I don't like really thin cases that aren't good for anything more than scratch proofing.
That being said this case isn't exactly thin, nor is it as bulky as an OB defender. I wanted a case that would protect my phone from falls, and decided this would be worth a try (especially since I got it for 9$+shipping). I wasn't disappointed, the very first thing I did was clean my phone, put it in the case, and drop tested it from 6 feet, into a faceplant and it survived without a scratch.it's got good protection on the corner, and the case looks very nice with the acrylic back that lets you see the phone through it.
I definitely trust this case to protect my M9 from normal, everyday usage and drops. That being said I would not be willing to test throwing my phone across a room like I would with an OBD, since this case has no shock proofing on the back due to the transparent acrylic.
The built in screen protector works great as well. I already had a Zagg scratch proof protector on (not the tempered glass, or the thick HD one and left it on) and I haven't lost any responsiveness to my screen. The built in protector does add a slightly annoying glare though.
Definitely a good case, and like all cases has its share of cons, but for the price, I 100% recommend it. Even if you only find it for the 20$ its usually advertised for.
Edit: I also forgot to mention that the cover for the charging port is somewhat hard to open, and hard to keep open. It will probably wear over time and become easier, but as of right now it is a slight hassle.
Edit2: After using the case for a few weeks, the charging port is no longer an issue. I've gotten rid of my Zagg screen protector, and removed the built in protector from the case. Instead using the Spartan tempered glass screen protector.

Thank you for your review. It's nice to know that this case can withstand a drop from a few feet. I know that I get nervous with it falling-- I mean, these phones are not just expensive, but they are our "friends" that we take with us everywhere we go. That is pretty sad, huh?
If I could figure out how to get my phone out of this cinder block I'd have it out already. This is essentially an iPhone-shaped case for a not-iPhone. The curvature at the back of the phone is lost (though it does trap dirt between the clear platen and the back of the phone). The cover on the charging port, which is mostly pointless because there are lots of open ports on the case, makes it difficult to connect to my car holder. The plastic isn't a consistent colour between the front and the sides. It was a bastard to get the phone in, and now it's a bastard to get the phone out.
The screen cover is great, and there's every indication that the shock protection is good. The big square plastic buttons are easy to press.
Compared with either Otterbox (which is what I've had on my past HTC phones) this isn't as good.

The case is easiest to take off if you peel the rubber back from the corner right above the buttons.
Based on the fact that its 1/5 the price of the otterbox, for roughly 3/4 of the protection level it offers, I would still recommend this case as a cheaper alternative.

chaosrde is right on the money. Using the spudger or guitar pick makes the job that much easier. I received a Glacier Touch case from Roocase for review purposes and ran into this. While the case is tough to take off, it does mean that phone is secure. It's a nice case that allows you to show off the nice metal casing of your phone. I dropped it a few times and neither the case nor phone showed any sign of damage, though due to it being clear and glossy the case does show scratches a lot easier. The case seems a bit bulky even with my large hands, but I think this is due to the box-iness of the case. It's more of a personal gripe than something wrong with the case. The built-in screen protector is nice, but does feel cheap (as most built-in screen protectors do) so if you pop it off and use a glass screen protector I don't blame you.
The only issue I had with it is what Damosel mentioned: Dust and dirt seem to get into the case a bit too easily and ends up collecting on the back side of the case. This is due to the case not being fitted to the back of the phone. This can lead to the metal back getting scratched which is something that bothers me. If there was an insert you could put inside the case that fit snugly behind the back I think it would be a nice improvement.
I agree with chaosrde that for the price point and the protection it offers, the Roocase Glacier Tough case is a nice alternative to the Otterbox Defender.
Hi
Does anyone else here own that case?
It seems to me that its a bit too tight on the device, causing problems...
First of all the pressure on the corners when taking the case off made the plastic going around the screen near the metal frame just broke on the top left corner. [I will try to upload a picture later]
Also, tiny dust/sand/others stuck between the case and the device are pressing so hard on it, it leaves marks on the aluminium (which is not very strong..). So now I have two dots on the bottom of the device and 3-4 on the back. I bought a dbrand skin (actually not because of the marks) so these are less a problem, but the plastic that broke is annoying.
I CANT BE SURE ITS CAUSED BY THE CASE!
I'm almost sure, especially the plastic breaking, but I can't be 100% sure.
Thats why I opened this thread... Wanted to know if anyone else owns this case and had similar problems.
I own and use that case too and have no problems whatsoever.

Is it tight and requires some force (compared to other cases, not extreme force..) to take off?

The Supcase and Speck are very tight fitting cases. Neither case has subjected my phone to any marks or damage.
I also had this case - ended up with lots dents in back of phone from dirt getting in around camera and power cord cut out. Very annoyed and disappointed.
with all the issues reported on tempered glass protectors (I'd originally bought one myself) I ended up going with the Spigen tpu screen cover and the clear case with feels solid and they work together fine.
While browsing about I came across this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161986959...49&var=461159948372&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Its like a reverse case, essentially wrapping the phone completely and yes, the touch and sPen work fine through it. OK it doesn't feel like glass and you do get some polarisation when viewed at an extreme angle, but I kinda figure its better to have the whole glass covered than not and you don't use your phone at >60 degree angles generally, well I don't anyway. I left the spigen screen protector on under it, at least any dust getting under the skin won't get to scratch the glass itself and hasn't caused any issues. Unlike the Spigen case that leaves a lip at top/bottom of the phone body this is uniform which helps it slide in/out smoothly of the Brodit universal mount in the car to which I added a Qi plate.
May well order up one of these to see if it has a better feel to it, but that'll have to wait until the house move is done

Somehow I doubt the drop protection on these is up to the "proper" cases but I'm more concerned about the edge glass suffering as that seems to be the real achilles heel on this "brilliant" design. Pity they never offered a flat non-edge version as I'd have much preferred that but other than that I'm more than happy with the phone overall...
hope this helps, at least another case option to consider
ok to update after a few days use...
So far happy with it, I did "shrink" the case a little in hot water to get it to be a more cozy fit.
Now its a bright day here, you do have a screen covered in dots with direct sun/very bright lighting but still fine if shaded. Also noted polarized glasses show rainbow patterns from the edges in the same way as viewed from acute angles.
For me, it'll do for now till something else comes along. At that price its OK for my needs
I'm very OCD when it comes to my phones, I think anyone who'd join XDA probably is, but over my life as a musician & recording enthusiast I've learned that pampering & protecting my gear/kit/tech, etc. yields big dividends: longer life, higher resale value, better obsolescence rejection, etc.
On my smartphone I like a heavy duty case, cause I drop my phone more than I'd like to admit. Not from 6 feet on concrete drops, but plenty of sitting on the couch/edge of bed drowsy drops to the carpet below. I want a stout case also because it makes these increasingly paper thin devices easier to handle. After hunting one down I bought the Encased Rebel, which is basically a very good OtterBox clone, and for the screen protector, after buying several through trial and error, the GPEL Note 9 glass protector is working very well.
The hard part in using a really stout case with Samsung's curved screened phones is that after getting one with a raised lip around the screen (a feature you want), most glass screen protectors don't provide enough clearance to avoid rubbing against the raised lip of the case, causing it to peel off and eventually drop off. The GPEL protector, labeled case friendly, has a few millimeters taken away from the edge of the protector that allows the case to rest besides it with no contact.
I'm adding some pictures I posted in my Amazon reviews of these two products that show a bit of what I'm trying to describe, sorry they're not pro level by far. But for under $30 you can get a very good heavy-duty case & a screen protector that is performing great; no need for the increased sensitivity feature to be turned on & no separation or bubbles anywhere. Since there's no adhesive on the main center glass, just on the edges, in some light a slight rainbow effect can be seen, but it's nothing that interferes with the screens quality during normal viewing.
Just offering this duo as a suggestion, for when I got my Note 9 I wish there were a few more real world use descriptions about which heavy duty case worked well with what screen protector. Be cool...

Think I'm gonna get one of those screen protectors and see how it works with some optical adheasive.
Just wasted $53.00 on the ZAGG Elite (full adhesive) for the Note 9. This thing cracked just using the included squeegee trying to get the massive amount of bubbles out. Now, I have the pay ZAGG $9.99 just to ship me a replacement.
Might order the G-Pel and give it a try while waiting on ZAGG to send my replacement.

Fuhhh...Well, let me put over GPEL here like I did in my Amazon review, I just didn't want to come off as some shill. When I first ordered the Note 9 glass protector from GPEL on Amazon it showed up in a rough looking package which, sure as sh#t, contained my 2 pack of protectors with a crack in one of them.
I emailed GPEL's customer support and within hours they emailed me a confirmation number of the replacement shipment. Really good customer service. I despise installing screen protectors: the plastic film type were hell with the air bubbles, the wet application protectors are such a hassle, worrying about stray dust, etc. The GPEL has this bracket that came with it that makes lining up the glass really t. The key is patience and having plenty of light. Good luck brother...
How bad are the oil slicks with this G-Pel?

I've noticed it really depends on lighting for some reason. In my kitchen with lots of high watt LCD floods I can see a bit of a rainbow/oil slick but with the screen on and the brightness even as low as 35% or full blast it's pretty much a no issue.
But in other lighting in my house & at times outdoors, I can't see any rainbow/slick whatsoever. So I don't know; to me the only time I notice it or it bugs me is when the screen is off.

I used one of those and I have a few notes on it.
-Adheasive is strong and super thick. Will add impact protection but being so this squeegeeing you have to be careful. Very easy to crack since the adhesive is so thick and soft.
- One the corner would not stick. Mesured it at work the top right corners adheasive was 50um thicker then the rest. This was from a bad batche. Replacement was fine.
-borderes cutinto the display. You will lose the very edge and have an annoying tiny thin line of light when you are in a dark room looking at it.
-soft adheasive when pressing on a corner you can see it ooze out. It returns to normal but this will collect dust at the edges. I'm
Really like to see that as a all clear glass and better guide on how to squeegee it. Mine did not break but I could feel flex. Requires a more gentle touch when doing this. And the time required to get the bubbles out is increased 5 fold because of this. But that soft adheasive add impact protection.

Thanks for this. This seems like a decent full adhesive protector though.
You got any tips to help me get the replacement on without cracking the thing?
I guess just be careful along the edges.
I had my first drop, from about 3 ft in the bathroom, on tile floor and it was fine. I HATE doing that, but no damage at all BUT...it looks like some dust worked it's way under the protector resting in the top middle, so must've jolted it enough for some dust to slip in. I dunno...
It's not the end of the world but goddamn, first world problems or not the whole screen protector gimmick is a pain in the a##! I know I keep hearing it from people I know " get the Dome" but I'm more worried about not installing it JUST so than the bread.
One other option I'm considering is a wrist strap. On some of the Ringke cases there is a hole pre made on the case, I guess if I kept using the Rebel I'd have to thread the lanyard deal through the SPen opening on that top lip area. I don't know...

I don't use screen protectors myself, but,if I were in the same situation & the end result was merely a damaged screen protector,I'd consider myself fortunate & chalk one up in the win column.
Should my daily usage dictate that rollin' with one would be a wise decision,I'd definitely consider it.
The screen protector did its job,it saved your display & saved you from a costly repair.
If you were otherwise pleased w/the screen protector,I'd just get another, the price is certainly much less than a display replacement. (Perhaps pair it up w/a case-friendly Otterbox)
The only other option I'd look for is a screen protector that has some sort of free replacement, provided you're not on the hook for any fees (shipping/etc..).
I hate having full phone cases, but I also hate the prospect of an all-glass phone that's designed to be slippery as a wet snake shattering on the ground*.
The prospect of a bumper, however, theoretically should protect as well as a full body case -- assuming it's being dropped onto a flat surface, which I'd wager that most drops are. If the bumper has enough "lip" that extends past the surface of both sides of the phone, then any drop onto a flat surface shouldn't have any concentrated point of impact into the screen, and then the rubber bumper would hopefully cushion enough deceleration to bring the drop underneath the glass-cracking strength point. Right?
Ideally, I'd like to get a mere bumper as a case, and then have the back of the phone sprayed with some slightly tacky adhesive, or something to lessen the wet noodle slipperiness of it.
Thoughts on these two ideas? Has anyone tried the bumper approach (and had any success or failure with it)?
(*It's seriously unbelievable how slippery Samsung makes these things. I can't help but think it's a design move intended specifically to foster an easier dropping and cracking of phones, albeit disguised under the veil of "elegant-looking sleekness" design.)

Rather than spraying some kind of goo on back of phone, you can simply use a clear slim fit case such as:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MJGPW1Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have used this one since my phone was new and it's great. Almost as thin as nothing, cushioning TPU gel construction and it is clear. It provides for a very good grip.
I am sure there are others with similar qualities for both S10 and S10+.
Get a rhinoshield bumper and a skin to reduce the slipperiness of the back
