Note 5 Sprint unlock options bought off facebook. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hey guys,
im getting mixed signals from alot of the posts on here. I feel their should be a sticky on this subject. I spent a few days trying to hunt down a note 5 I could move over to metropcs and got it all rooted assuming that would be the hard part.. Well its telling me unknown sim a sign that its still locked, the IEMI checks out as clean ect. What chances are there of sprint unlocking a devices that your not the original account holder for? She left her original sim in the phone so I do have the account phone number but not the pin. I this something I need to go back to the owner about and have them do it(if they will). i've attempted to find reviews for 3rd party unlockers however this kinda looks like it falls into a grey area... Any advice would be great.
### Update 3 days total of effort ###
I ended up getting the lady I bought the phone from to transfer ownership of the pin on the sprint account over to me. Without that Sprint will not work with you period, idk why the can just say yep that IEMI is clean here is the unlock push. Ahhh and getting the phone unlocked took talking with 6 agents over a day and a half. When they say okay It should take a few days for you to get the update, thats a lie... Go under System updates and find UICC unlock and press it. If you get a 407 error they ****ed up on their end. Call the next agent, or better yet international chat. Keep hitting that button until you get something about phone has been carrier unlocked ECT.
Good luck this will be a process I never do again. Its not worth saving $300 for the time and effort involved.

[Q] AT&T - Help Bad Situation

If anyone has a good relationship with anyone in management at at&t ... warranty dept ideally..... can you please pm me .... i need help.....
long story but in a nut shell i had a warranty claim involving charging port on my phone and it got misdelivered by post office .... second phone came and i was late returning it because it was lost in the return envelope somewhere... well they charged my account for $2000 dollars!!!
A representative of the warranty dept took over the case and we were doing great.... i assured her the phone had been recovered and was in
the mail. She took the situation by the horns and went to management and smoothed everything out.... until yesterday that is.... first- she told me to do nothing i.e. pay anything on my bill, until she got back in touch with me .... she cautioned this could take several weeks but that the charges applied to my account were serious and needed to be resolved before anything else transpires on the account... well yesterday tried to log onto
my at&t and check status and was still locked out so I placed a call to inquire..... get this .... its weird ... and i see why they would feel this way....
but while i'm on the phone i get a call from a young kid with latino or spanish accent indicating that he was terribly sorry but about two months ago
he received a package for me in the mail and it was a phone.... I was like theres the missing phone right.... well i told him i was on the way and
about ninety miles later and couple hours of trying to decipher his location I found him and recovered the device.... refurbished white one xl with 1.85 1.09 hboot... so i called back to try and locate my lady helping me and got customer service so i told them what had just transpired and i needed to be transferred to that dept... well she would only say that i needed to return the phone to closest location immediately...so i hung up...
got distracted as usual trying to run two businesses and buy another.... just four kids four dogs and a cat on a rainy day and it didnt happen...but i felt i needed to communicate with warranty dept... so anyway i woke up yesterday and my phone is cut off ....now this is not good for me trying to deal with banks for funding on a new business venture and kids and all. So infuriated i proceed to the local store with there phone and after a two hour ordeal with local manager and his support system we come up with i need to return the phone and sometime on or around the 1-17-13 everything will clear out and i can restore my service... well i blew up and told them to just close my accounts.. that was not acceptable...
Anyway the deal is although there way too expensive (my bill is never less than $250 , there still in my experience hands down the best...at least in this area.... and until now every issue i have they more than handle the situation... But i dont appreciate being treated like a criminal stealing a phone when i got up and went out of my way to recover there device. I had no responsibility to this device and had been cleared a month ago by the warranty dept who had confirmed by tracing the device that i never received it..... I also really dont appreciate my phone being turned off on a moments notice when i have done nothing but what i was instructed to do by there management.....
so im at a huge loss today on what to do ....
1- flash both devices to Straight Talk...?
2- send device back? and wait a week to be exhonerated of these charges and restored?
3- call attorney general and file complaint? hire lawyer with money i dont have?
4- do i have rights ? no rights?
I'm really getting sick of big corporations just steam rolling over the little guy.....ive already had a debacle earlier this year with sprint/google nexus that has all but put me out of business... and mother google is becoming the worst ally of a small biz owner ive ever seen ....between adwords and adsense....and there phone i'm in tight spot.....
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated........

well first off team one X is a GSM device therefore it cannot be flashed however you can obtain an unlock code so you can use a straight talk sim card. Or you could even buy an AT&T compatible SIM from straight talk which does not require an unlock code. Secondly I would talk to supervisor or a store Manager and see if they can help you and your situation.
But whatever you choose best of luck to you on a second note if you get a straight talk sim you know you may get the error mm 6 device not authorized in which case means AT&T has your device on the lost or stolen blacklist

thanks
yea well im sending back one of the devices.... so hopefully they wont do that to the other one... im unlocked and rooted on one and about to unlock and root the other one and going to nearest straight talk... i cant go without a phone .... F atat

if you want to go to straight talk check out their website for GSM BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) @ straighttalksim.com and make sure you choose the AT&T Compatible SIM, You get the same coverage because it uses att towers, for a fraction of the price, however i dont know if they offer LTE yet or not so you may want to do some research on different APN Configurations and what not.
A Word about Unlocked just remember that the bootloader unlock and a Network Unlock are 2 different things, where you need the bootloader unlock to be able to use custom roms, firmware, and radios. You will need a network unlock to be able to use the device on another network that does not operate on att towers, some examples are T-Mobile, SIMple Mobile, Vodaphone, etc, etc

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Free Unlock - MM6 error

Hi guys...I wish I could post this question in the original thread, but I'm new and can't do that.
I've been following this board for awhile, there's alot of good info.
My issue is I've tried the Free Unlock method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014982
But now I'm getting MM6 error when I try to insert a TMobile (Simple Mobile) sim card. I've verified that sim card works in a different unlocked phone.
I've searched that original thread for MM6 and nothing came up.
I've searched this forum for MM6 and it's a bunch of folks talking about the blacklist and calling out the OPs as theives.
I have recently purchased a Galaxy Note 2 off CL. Couple days later it cut off, blacklisted...insurance fraud by original owner. Long story short, I was able to get ATT to call the "original owner" and question him, at the same time I informed the person who sold it to me that my office where he delivered it has him, his car and license tag on video from about 8 different cameras....so the next day it was *off* the ATT blacklist . The phone has been working fine for the past couple weeks on a ATT PrePay Go account. It also works with my wife's ATT iphone sim.
Now I'm trying to unlock it to go with SimpleMobile, or Net10 on Tmobile's towers. I did the method listed in the thread above, but when I put in the simplemobile sim, it gives the MM6 error message.
I called ATT to confirm it's off their blacklist. I called TMobile to confirm it's off their blacklist.
Did I botch the unlock....is it now permanently locked to ATT? Maybe these guys fooled with it before I got it...Is it worth it to buy an unlock code at this point? What are my options?
Again, sorry I can't post in the original thread. Maybe someone that reads this can point one of those experts to this post.
Thanks for your help in advance
p.s. - if you read this post, see 'mm6' and immediatly reply that i'm a thief and should be banned....i'm going to slap yo mamma :silly: .
And for the record..that darn blacklist is stoopid....it dosn't help anyone get their phone back, it dosn't discourage thieves, it damages the used phone market which in turn inflates the new phone market....no law enforcement involvement is required to blacklist a phone, and there is apparently no law enforcement involvement in the US at all....and there is no enforceable process to legitimately transfer "full ownership" of a device to someone else....just stick it into a drawer and send another $600 of our GDP to China...GREAT!!!
It's like the original owner of my car reporting it stolen to his insurance company (after selling it to me) and then the car just stops working and no shop will fix it, and the insurance company pays him off no problem and dosn't even want to hear from me, and the police don't care because it hasn't actually been reported stolen...WTF!?! anyways...that's my rant....and now I can't unlock this darm thing...
Update:
I was able to call ATT and get the unlock code.
But when I put in the TMobile SIM, it's not asking for an unlock code.
I saw a video on Youtube where they swiped upwards from the bottom to show the screen asking for the code.
The ATT guy also said if I didn't see the unlock prompt, I could do it manually via the dialpad. He said enter a series of numbers and # * etc.:
#<numbers>*<numbers>*<unlock code>#
I did that and nothing.
I know from the 'Free Unlock' thread, that hitting the last # at the end is basically like hitting 'Enter' and it goes to the next screen.
But this just stays on the dialpad after I hit # and nothing happens.
thanks for anyone's help
Update:
Samsung support said they do not support fixing this issue. They said they will not assist at all with an unlocking issue, I need to ask ATT
ATT said they can't do it either. She said the 'unlock date' was listed as NA. Meaning the phone was not eligble to be unlocked. I re-emphasised that ATT gave me the unlock code. doh.
It's not asking for an unlock code. How the heck am I supposed to unlock it?!?

Un-Unlockable T-Mobile S7 Edge

Hey guys
I have a S7 edge which came through a promotional sponsoring deal from Samsung. There is no balance due or anything to be paid off.
I spent the last 3 weeks on hotlines from both T-Mobile and Samsung, trying to unlock the device as right now it only works with T-Mobile US sim cards. To no success.
It clearly is a T-Mobile device, boots up with the t-mobile logo and has all the t-mobile software on it. The unlock app doesn't work at all, not even the temporary one. T-Mobile hotline keeps claiming it is not a t-mobile phone. Just now the supervisor of the tech support hotline tried to "escalate" the unlocking process by overriding something which should have solved the problem instantly. But he said it came back as not being able to be unlocked.
One hotline supervisor a couple days ago claimed she saw it as a t-mobile device "on the other system" after digging deeper but usually they say it's not even a t-mobile phone when i give them the IMEI. She also tried to "escalate" the unlocking process and told me it would take 72h. But now when i called back today, the guy just told me again it is not a t-mobile phone. And the "instnat escalation" his supervisor tried to do didn't go through.
At some point i also was on the Samsung hotline and they claimed it is a t-mobile phone and only t-mo can unlock it.
I am really close to giving up but that would render the device useless for me.
Is there any way to unlock it? I am pretty sure i wouldn't be able to buy an unlock code from one of these sites, i tried to go through the testing service on some of them and it came back as not being unlockable.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I would personally be capable to root the phone, did it before with some of my older phones, but right now i only have direct access to apple devices and from what i know you still need Windows to root a phone? (edit: read up more on this, is JODIN reliable and recommended?) Also i am not sure if rooting a phone would even take off the carrier lock?
Thanks in advance...
edit: please lmk if i posted this in the wrong section of the forum.
Well aside from the fact you're posting about an S7 Edge in the regular S7 forums I'm not sure what to tell you. Are there an T-Mobile stores close to you? If so try taking it to them and see if they can help. If you have any documentation from Samsung saying it's a T-Mobile phone take that with you.
oops yeah sorry please can some moderator please move this to the s7 edge section?
obvisouly t-mobile store won't be of any help. but thanks.

I have the same question for S7.. have you been able to find a solution?
Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
I'm having the same problem I 've been trying to get my phone unlocked and neither tmobile or Samsung can get it unlocked for over a month now. Samsung refuse to take the phone back so is tmobile ( tmobile said that the phone is not a T-Mobile phone because the IMEI number is not in thier system)
So what I told T-Mobile is I used a link sent by T-Mobile to do the exchange so if something wrong with the phone that's their fault so then I got transferred to an account specialist and filed a warranty exchange . And today I got text message from T-Mobile that says my new phone ;Your order #xxxxxxxx for SAM G935T GS7 EDGE 32G GLD EXCH has shipped! We'll send you a notification when your device is ready for pickup.

thanks guys,
me personally i wasn't able to make any progress. t-mobile customer service is not helping at all.
i did get an OTA t-mobile update in the meantime though lol.
will try the warranty exchange trick. problem is i am not in the US right now.
For the warranty exchange tell them to send it to ur home address not the store. Coz mine got sent to the store I went to pick it up the store couldn't give it to me coz once again the imei number is not registered as a tmobile device. So the store manager told me if I have a Twitter account to look for tmobile on Twitter and keep twitting about it . I spoke with representative and she said she knows about my issue and within 72 hours it will be fixed . The next day I reset my phone thru the recovery mode ( power button volume up home button) after the phone booted I set it up , I revive an OTA update which is "weird" and then after the update i tried the unlock app on the phone and BAM ! The is permanently unlocked .

S7 need an Active Sprint SIM Card in order to do the last Profile Update for UNLOCK?

Can't believe what I heard from the Sprint Reps today about my Locked Galaxy S7. They claim that the only way to unlock the device is to have an Active Sprint Sim Card so that I can successfully Update the Profile one last time after they unlock the device on their systems.
I got the phone used and person did not perform the unlock while their subscription was active, so I'm stuck with a 700 brick?
Don't have an *Active* Sprint SIM Card to perform this 2 minute operation that will result in an Unlocked G930P. Both Sprint Stores nearby refuse to allow me one of their testing SIM's or help in any way.
This is unbelievable. Heard online that Qualcomm S7's were invincible; truly seems the case. Can't believe they rather me pay some third party store 50 USD to unlock instead of charging me something like 20 USD to unlock after deactivation or something.
Tried flashing many versions etc only to find out after months of trial and error, calling many times both carriers (Sprint and T Mobile) and taking it to various Android Hardware Tech shops.
No one want to lend me their active sim cards to do this.. Apparently having the Sprint SIM Card inside and their last Profile Update seems actually really to be the only way to unlock.. Anyone have any information about this?
Is this the only way to really unlock the device? I actually have the damn MSLOCK code I got from Sprint directly but I can't find anywhere to input it and the Sprint Reps told me that for this model it is impossible to unlock with code like that because only they can unlock it via their "last final profile update" method.. So I wonder, why did they even give me this MSLOCK code then?
Still can't believe to such a degree that I posted this thread about it.
Ill viciously add that their customer service Reps tried to unsuccessfully brainwash me into thinking it was somehow T Mobile's fault that the UICC was locked.. Some lies about its their SIM Card's fault or something as if you are supposed to hand T Mobile a Locked Phone and expect it to work somehow. General population must really be oblivious to reality. Phone display clearly its not Unlocked under UICC, dont aggressively try to push the lie that phone's unlocked because your System " sais that it is" and you assume I don't know better than that. Then they sort of hold this grudge about it as they annoyingly interrupt everything you say repeating the same nonsense. Might have capacity to unlock with a Paid Sim Card however my phone is obviously not unlocked and its really annoying how they play this pychological thing out and act sort of angry if you know any better. Phone in my hands sais its locked, ive taken it to 5 places and they all say its locked and Ive gone through the process before with other phones when its UICC Unlocked it clearly sais UNLOCKED under UICC, not "Locked To Sprint Sim Cards"..
Sprint -10
Next its a Librem Linux Phone unbranded to any of these "phone companies" and with one of these new VOIP type services or something. along those lines.. If anyone got any recommendatiosn Ill gladly take them, Im done with the carrier mafia thing
Aren't they supposed to follow the FCC and Unlock my device even if my contract with them is over?
Can't they just send me the Update through a flashable odin file or email or OTA or anything?
If its just a profile update there should be a way to get the necessary flashable files and odin them into my phone shouldnt there?

Question TMobile shenanigans

So as of late, TMobile doesn't unlock devices now unless you meet their requirements. The 40 day connected and paid off rule. Impressed they are tight on this now. I recently had a OnePlus 9 pro that was paid off and bought elsewhere and they gave me a hard time to unlock sim. I have recently got my Pixel 7 Pro and the same rules apply. Last year with the Pixel 6 Pro,they sim unlocked on my 4th day of having device unpaid. The "development purpose" doesn't work any more. They tell you, "ah, I'm seeing that you want to root your device..." And shut you down immediately.
What pickle I got myself into. Got an unlocked p7p from Google Fi, but, they wouldn't let me pay it off for some reason, so I returned it. Bought one outright for 973 at TMobile. Got the wife an s23 ultra and they refunded me for my p7p and put it on a plan to get the 600 off with op9p trade in. Now I'm stuck with a locked phone again.
My question is:
OnePlus had an adb command to ungray the OEM unlock... Does the Pixel have a way? Or does someone here do it? Or if any trusted 3rd party could be recommended?
How did you contact them? Personally, I have never had any luck outside of their Twitter support. They gave me pushback a bit, but after expressing being disappointed that I traded in my unlocked phone for a locked device and being a bit of an ass they eventually did it for me. I also made sure to stress that I had no way to go back to my previous device, since I traded it in. Their direct support line did NOT flex on the requirements at all.
See my post here:

This is an excellent resource for information on bootloader unlock ability.
There are several components at play here:
ro.oem_unlock_supported is set at ROM build time; if 1, the OEM Unlocking toggle should be available. This property is not visible without root.
sys.oem_unlock_allowed is used by some "permissive" devices such as the Google Pixel to determine whether OEM unlocking should be allowed; in the case of the Pixel, this is done by checking an online whitelist of serial numbers
get_unlock_ability is controlled by the OEM Unlocking toggle. Off is 0, on is 1. If 0, the bootloader will reject fastboot flashing unlock. Can be checked in bootloader mode using ADB: fastboot flashing get_unlock_ability

That's too bad cause the op9p had a command line to ungray the OEM unlock option whilst the phone is sim locked and bootloader locked. Wonder if I tried the same command.hmmmm

What was the command? You aren't talking about doing stuff through MTKclient or anything are you?
Had a similar situation with T mobile. I met all of their requirements. Paid off device, over 1 year active on their service, but since I bought it at Best Buy and not T mobile direct they wouldn't unlock it.
Now I am dealing with Boost mobile BS. Trying to port my number out for over 2 weeks and still nothing.

this is the command:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.qualcomm.qti.uim
i know its a different SoC bt wondering if something similar could be replicated??
that allows the OEM unlock toggle to work on sim locked devices. I just need root, well dont really need it except ive become grown to se Adblock for the ads.
I'm not directing/telling you to do this @avid_droid, but I've read on the forum here that some members have had to speak to 5+ service reps (on either/both Twitter) to get them to unlock the device where all you can hope for is to get lucky enough to fall into talking to an accepting rep. Those members really just had to be persistent until they landed on one. I really wonder (& doubt) they keep track or put a note in your "record" all the attempts to get it done...I highly doubt anyone on T-Mobile cares...
But supposedly one can get in their good graces by being a long time customer...?
Unfortunately, those adb shell commands haven't worked on a Pixel since very early on (I'm thinking no later than the Pixel 3)...

They keep notes on me and I can guarantee that. I went through multiple chats to get a paid off device sim unlocked. More than 5 I guarantee. Everytime I started a chat, they knew what I was going to ask everytime before I said anything. I had to go up the chain many times with no success. I'll try again for ****s and giggles

Naw they've always kept tabs on my account since losing my shhh on them multiple times. It is weird that I am flagged though
I got my pixel 7 Pro unlocked by TMO the day I got it. I called into customer support and told them "I have a second sim for work and want to use the phone at full potential. But it doesn't allow me to install the sim because says carrier locked." You are asking for sim unlocking and it unlocks the bootloader too. If the representative will do it they will have download the unlock app in play store. Open the app and it unlocks sim and bootloader..After it says in app sim unlocked, reboot the phone and it will allow OEM unlock to be toggled and I never looked back. I got the super deal where they gave most the price off if I bring my own phone and trade it in. Still isn't fully paid off and rooted since day 1.

On mine I called in. For the other 6a my gf has I went threw T-Mobile chat in the app and had a rep do it that way also. The "I need it unlocked for work sim" method works. Unless it's flagged or something. I was a brand new customer at the time too. Just switched from Google Fi. Traded in a few phones and got a 7 Pro and 2 6a's. Also have my old 6 pro still. Traded in some old janky Samsungs and a 5a 5g. Only one hasn't been unlocked because it's my son's phone and he doesn't use root. I didn't have any problems but I know some have had problems with customer service. I tried the Twitter t force way and never got a response. I called and chatted.
So after hours of wait I finally got hot with the requirements again after telling them I know about it. Still no luck. In all honesty, I don't actually feel a need to be unlocked. Its not like it's gonna happen any time soon for me cause TMobile just loves me
I spent a month. A month calling for two weeks of that month daily waiting for long holds just to get through. They said everything under the sun promising me it would get unlocked in a 24-72 hour period.
Then after a month of back and forth they finally said my unlock request has been denied but gave no explanation as to why even when I asked.
Their customer service was awful. Conflicting information and hostile customer service reps.
T-Mobile has lost me as a direct customer for a long time.
I'm with AT&T but I got my pixel 7 pro phone fully unlocked for this reason. I can toggle OEM unlock any time I want right from the get go with out any issues. You're always better off with buying the phone in full.
