I sometimes write apps and install them to my devices.
Lately I've noticed that the apps seem to disappear.
I have turned off GOOGLE PLAY store scanning of external Apps - and it still seems to happen. It doesn't happen if I DISABLE GOOGLE PLAY and GOOGLE FRAMEWORK, but as I need them to have my apps connect to Google - I am forced to turn them on from time to time.... thus ending in apps being deleted.
Anyone come across this before?
Strange, my phone never uninstalls any apps. Although one of my cheap crappy phones kept deleting specific apps on reboot and deleting files, never figured out why.
Anyway, it shouldn't be happening, try resetting your phone and see if it still happens.

Honestly, not sure that this has to do with my transformer, but my tf101 seems to be the only device affected by the following problem:
When i go to google play, if i try to install an app that i had purchased in the past, it stays stuck on download and doesn't even start. I tried to redownload the same apps on other devices (lg 2X for example) and it works fine. My transformer did work fine until last week as well.
I've got no idea of what could be causing this, any suggestions? I tried switching back and forth from different google accounts but the problem persists. Reinstalling google play didn't work either.
Edit: it would look like redownloading certain apks works, seems like it only doesn't work with larger apk files (> 2mb, but it may be a coincidence). I'm even more confused now
Edit2: The issue is definitely related to apk dimension. Can't install from market apks larger than 20mbs. How is this possible? i'm still on honeycomb stock to avoid the ics mess, and i can remember downloading large apks fine just few months ago. Any solution?
You could try wiping your cache, force closing play, and if you're rooted wipe market stats in Titanium Backup, that should probably fix it.
Also try the install button off of a computer, and then it sends to your tf, that might get it to work.
Regarding large files... is your wifi connection decent?
Also, make sure you are able to connect and login to Talk. The Play store doesn't work properly unless you can log Talk, been there a few times. With mine, even trying to install free apps would give a purchasing error because Talk connection was getting interrupted before logging in.
it's not a big deal, as I can easily reboot to recovery and re-flash root.
however it's getting annoying, and I'm trying to figure out what could be the possible causes that might cause root to "randomly" disappears.
I've tracked down a couple of possible scenarios where root can be lost, due some failed patching of some sort, but it still doesn't explains other cases like when launching a game from the Google Play store, then hanging and after End Task, to find out that Root is gone.
I use an app called Auto Mount along with my 120GB microSD so I can keep all my apps/games running without filling up the built-in storage. I also use Titanium backup and Droid Wall, BusyBox and many other Utility Apps that needs root.
Yet all those are well known trusted apps, so I have no clue what or if anything is being send down from Google Play store to reset root
Recently Google Play have been doing weird things, and needs to often delete the cache / data, so things can be downloaded or updated properly, otherwise you'll get those typical play store error codes.
Anybody else suspect or got an idea what could be causing this issue?
so, after additional test, I noticed anytime I make a change to the blocking rules in DroidWall, it causes the problem after applying the new changes.
Another app that seems to also kills root is CSR racing update by itself, after letting it update, it also kills root.
newer version of CSR does not uses google play to update, also it ignores the blockings in DroidWall
Alot of the issue could be that the way android mounts the SD card it was never made for apps. I will bet that if you stop using auto mount and store the apps an the normal storage you will stop seeing this issue.
So yesterday my snapchat stopped working, one thing led to another and i performed a factory reset on my rooted phone. Now i can't even use google play store, when i open it, its just a blank screen. My accounts are not syncing. I installed freedom, as well as lucky patcher. I messed around with the hosts file but i recovered the original one using lucky patcher, after adding the hash in the second line made no difference.
I am desperate to make snapchat work and need my play store back. I have tried EVERY method listed online, the cache clearing force stopping, reinstalling.
I can't even use the google search bar. I can use chrome for google though. And my Gmail is refreshing normally on my phone.
I am very certain that if i dont find a fix i'll be hurling the phone away and breaking it in frustration.
What do i do? I don't think another factory reset will help me here.
EDIT: Sometimes it gets synced, but it still doesn't lead to my google play store working. It is always a blank screen, so is the case for the google search bar. I can't log in snapchat because the server isn't responding/reachable.
Okay so I've done a little digging on the subject, and I've found that if I delete all data for Google play services, and then reupdate them, these maps that I'm seeing this error message displayed will work.
What's curious is that I've found if I alter these Google services in *any* way at all, for example, removing google play services permission for reading my sms messages, which has ZERO to do with maps, this error occurs once again, on those same maps within a couple of apps. On another device, I went in and only disabled services required to look for Google pay/NFC (I don't use any). This alteration also causes that same issue with maps !! The only fix is deleting all Google play services data, reinstalling the updates on the play services, and then not touching a freaking thing or permission. Perhaps the most bizarre aspect of all is that if I freeze play services entirely, those maps still work upon reenabling
What's all the more bizarre too is that Google Maps will display maps with zero issues with those same mentioned modifications made. It only effects maps within other apps, like my weather app for example.
What on earth is the meaning of this? All I'm trying to do is save battery but also stop some of the constant spying. Those services don't need access to my SMS messages. In fact I can have a perfectly normal operational conversation with Google play services frozen entirely.
Anyone have any advice on stopping some of the snooping without breaking completely unrelated aspects of other apps that don't even fully depend on these services to run in the first place? Only the map part does?
I know many might say just leave them running and who cares what it wants access to. But I do. If I can help it at all, I'd rather not be constantly freezing and unfreezing the services depending what I'm doing as that can get a little tedious.
I'd love to hear your takes on why these apps with maps function the way they do in this particular regard (especially when Google maps, the one that should be most closely dependent on play services, works no matter if services have been altered or not)

Okay, I thought I had the issue pegged but turns out not so much. This time, literally all I had done was hibernate GPS... Turned on airplane mode and went to sleep. Woke up and maps not working despite GPS being woken normally, like I had done for years with no issues.
I'm really starting to regret starting from scratch to declutter. Who would have ever thought starting over and using in the same manner as before would *break* something..... How frustrating
Hi Ive recently bought the phone used and factory reset it, but the play store is stuck on pending updates, none of the apps update and i cant install any new apps.
Ive tried clearing cache/memory, reset multiple times, playing with the power settings - anything I could find online.
Nothing seems to work, does anyone know why this is happening? Id like to try sort it out as i only have a certain amount of time to return the phone.
During the intial set up, my SIM works, and i skip all the samsung stuff but that shouldnt be an issue. The play store is also up to date according to the settings.
same issue with OP8T nothing seem to work. wtf
Try this. Delete the cache/data from the Play Store app and the cache/data from the Download Manager app under 3 dot menu/show system app and shut down the phone and wait 5 minutes to restart phone

Delete Google account and recreate it if the above doesn't work.
Alternatively you could download the apps you want on another phone and use ApkExport to copy and transfer them to the affected phone.
I store copies of all my apps like this so I don't need to use Playstore if I do a factory reset.
It saves time and confusion plus preserves apps that Playstore has altered or purged.
