Network Bands. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hello everyone!
I got this phone a few days ago and the only problem i have with it is the 4g/lte . Seems like this model either has the band blocked or it doesnt support it. I live in Albania and im using vodafone so the band i need is B7(2600). At least i think i need that ?. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Rooted?
If you are rooted, i know a way to list all supported bands of your model. Not rooted, i dont know. Search in the play store.

If you are sure it is going to work i can get root.

You should not root just for that. Just check your model number in about menu and google it.

This phone doesn't support that band:

Unlocked HTC Touch Pro on AT&T

I was planning on picking up an unlocked HTC Pro on Monday and wanted to know if I would be able to go to an AT&T store and get it setup?
1) Does AT&T allow unlocked phones to be setup like this?
2) Will I get 3G through their UMTS network?
I have done a lot of searching here and came up empty, someone surely has tried this or knows if it is possible?
Exoticphone.com is selling me the unlocked phone if you need to verify the specs in it (although I assume it is just the stock phone made by HTC).
I found some info. in this other forum here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410945
1- Yes, you can set up any unlocked phone to use on at&t, as long as it supports the correct bands (the touch pro does). You dont need to go to an at&t store, just put the sim in, and your good to go
2- No, the current touch pro does not support at&t 3G bands. You can still use it on edge, or you can wait until the north american version is released

That's not for sure yet. The Touch Pro may or may not support the north american 3G bands. It's a bit of a gamble at this point from what I can tell, future ROM's may get that functionality working... or not.
As stated for #1, EDGE and GSM will work just fine.
are you out of your mind posting this. Use the search on the top right.

Wow, why are you flaming someone who just asked a simple question, you easily could have taken the time nicely point out the search feature instead of creating thread clutter.
To the OP, as stated you "might" be able to get 3G to run on it but out of the box it is only enabled for European 3G. When the "Fuse" comes out (Touch Pro made for ATT) it is possible that people will find a way to make the unlocked versions run with US 3G enabled, but thats not a sure thing.
You can go into any ATT store and just tell them you need to buy a SIM card and a phone plan and they will get you all set up.
When looking for phones just check which frequencies are supported on the device and what is offered by the network you are looking to join or use.

Galaxy S Relay 4G: Work in Europe?

I live in Italy and correctly use a Motorola Droid 4 Verizon.
I would like to buy a Samsung S Relay 4G but I do not know if this also works with the SIM and European networks.
Can you tell me if it works?
Thanks a lot.

Hi neighbour, yes it works. I have mine from Canada. the phone is penta-band that works also in Europe. You may need to unlock the SIM when you buy it from the US.

No, he means SIM unlock, while I meant if you buy it from Canada for example, it is mainly already unlocked, so was mine. US ones are locked by standard.
When you have one with sim locked, you can unlock it from unlocking websites or do it by yourself as the instructions here on the forum
All Relays come locked from the factory to only work on the t-mobile network. You can unlock them for free, though I hear you may have to start with the old firmware to do so, and then update it once you're done. That's still not hard, we have the files on this forum to flash the old firmware.
i have mine from canadagsm.ca and it was (brandnew but) unlocked already. thats why I thought in Canada it is mainly unlocked in general. But I think I also read that all the phones from canadagsm are unlocked.
This phone is a t-mobile exclusive, so they all come locked from the factory. That doesn't mean there aren't places which buy them new, unlock them, and then re-sell them. It just means that Canada isn't a magical country where phones aren't locked. Sadly.
Works well in France.

So guys just a quesion, how did you sim unlocked your phone?
Did you buy a code online? or there is a software to do it (e.g. adb)?
Thanks!

Has anyone verified if UMTS/900Mhz is supported? I've googled this and there are conflicting information:
Sites that say UMTS/900MHz is supported:
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=3791
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206523
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Relay_4G
http://www.canadagsm.ca/products-Samsung_Galaxy_S_Relay_4G_T699_Penta_Band
And then sites that say it isn't:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SGH-T699DABTMB-specs
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_relay_4g_t699-4914.php
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482670
What's the conclusion? If the phone is locked into T-Mobile's network, then it doesn't support and if it's unlocked then it supports? Or culd it be that stock ROM doesn't support UMTS/900MHz but installing some custom ROM enables it? ... Or could there be multiple variants of this phone?
PS. Could someone list all supported UMTS frequencies from unlocked T699:
Type "phone number": *#*#197328640#*#*
Then it should open menu, choose following entry: "[x] UMTS..."
Then it lists all supported UMTS frequencies, like this: http://www.howardforums.com/attachme...2&d=1280324484 (screenshot isn't from T699)
I took this guide from here: http://androidforums.com/samsung-gal...-galaxy-s.html

At&T T-mobile are the prefered network to buy mobiles from Ebay.
Even I bough this model from Ebay but it's a useless phone now. Selling back on ebay.
I have the same device and I've been hacking away at a true root and or bootloader unlock. As well as Sim unlock. With no success. But I did just speak to a customer service rep at us cellular and she said it can be Sim unlocked but has to be plugged up to a device that they have in their cooperate stores to do so. So I'm at the point where I believe I'm going to be shipping my SM-N915R4 to the closest US CELLULAR Cooperate store to have them Sim unlock it. Im also still trying to modify CHAINFIRE's cf-auto root to gain root access. If I can accomplish this I feel sure I can change the preferred network settings along with several other settings to be able to use this CDMA device on GSM network.
Did you get it unlocked from the US CELLULAR store?

Flash Canada firmware on US unlocked

So someone is the Fold subreddit said that he was able to flash the Canada firmware on his US unlocked fold and everything works including 5G. Is this true? Are there any downside from doing this? Thanks for any imput.
My understanding is that you need a device that supports the bands your carrier uses, that's all. The U1 has the widest carrier coverage. I have tried to find info on whether you can flash a firmware to get other bands, and perhaps that's what you are asking, but I doubt this.
Which carrier are you on?

Yes it is possible. They are the same device and you can cross flash. But why do you want to?

Not so much wanting to but was just trying to educate myself if it was possible. The whole discussion was to get the new Android 11 update sooner since unlocked models are the last to get it.

I went ahead and did it ...I'm actually loving it! I'm just going to keep the sm-f916w version since it seems to get the faster updates and also as a plus I can see less samsung spam ads for some reason. I could be wrong but my samsung pay no longer displays ads all over the place as it has a more clean look. I dont get multiple notifications about turning on my phone finder offline or whatever as the US version did. That was driving me nuts!
I flashed it to my Tmobile U model yesterday which i had U1 on. Works fine.

Question S22 ultra unlocked on tmobile

Hi. Just ordered and got the unlocked version of this phone directly from Samsung. They don't have a 512gb version with tmobile software, so I went for the unlocked one.
Would be ok to use it as it is on that network?
What do I lose and what do I get?
Main reason i ask is because im not sure if different firmwares activate or deactivate bands and frequencies. Obviously, I want to have on the ones used by tmo.
Thanks a bunch!

You'll be fine as-is. I've got a T-Mobile version that I flashed the US Unlocked firmware on (XAA) & AFAICT I'm getting use of all of the 5G bands available in my area.
I've yet to use mm Wave 5G as it's not available in my area, but, if you have it, I'm certain you'll have no issues with it.
thanks much.
how about wifi calling?
