Maybe you can try Footej camera app.
Hello everyone I shot a video tutorial on how to record timelapse in 4K resolution through app Footej Camera on any Huawei / Honor phone that has a 4K resolution on a normal video mode - in timelapse mode with stock app is only HD resolution.
Tested on Honor 9 with Android 8.0.0 with Footej Camera app.
There is YouTube link to my video guide:

if someone looking what are the results using 4k recording capabilities in this cam, think best combination so far is stable official 9.5.17.0 with Cinema FV5 app (disabled stabilisation)

Thanks a lot man! Pro mode works with manual focus even on Bootloader locked device. Wanted an app like this since when I bought this device.
WOW! The front facing camera HDR processing is too similiar to GCAM (Only when it works xP) ! I love this cam! Fast and beauty, thanks for sharing

As far as I know, 4K recording isn't working if you enable camera2 api.
Change to 4k recording

Works fine on stock miui 9.6.3.
Pro mode works perfectly too.
Am using pixel experience rom 9.0. Front camera works. But rear camera is stuck. And says camera can't access.
Plz delete this thread
Thank you @unisol107 for your guide.
I still prefer Open Camera on 4k with EIS - it needs to disable Camera2API for bringing this resolution back in Open Camera settings, otherwise you will get all those strange resolutions - including 4000 x 2000 - , but no 3840x2160.

But many users use gcam which needs cam2api enabled. And their isn't EIS in 4k even in open camera, at least not in Indian version i.e note5pro. This guide is useful for very few people who
1- Don't like the 1080p quality.
2- Want 4k like detail as well as EIS.
3- Want a balance between the two.
Thanks for giving time to read this post and share your views.
Use snap camera hdr, it records the best 4k footage with EIS with camera2 api enabled more info here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77237155&postcount=9

I think that's bcoz of different sensors in global and Indian variant. Mine is indian and it doesn't record 4k stabilized. Not in open camera nor snap camera. Snap camera hdr is my favourite app otherwise.
i tried hdr on or off while in manual settings on the new photo app of android 9 but i see no difference, did i miss something or is it just disabled by sony on xz premium to force us to buy a new phone if we want hdr photo ? is there a hdr in video mode ? i also see no difference bewteen a 4k video on android8 and and android 9 (but there is no hdr toggle for video in android 9 so it does not seem available on xz premium ( by hdr video i mean raising the shadows and providing details in the highlights such as the sky and not the other hdr type that requires a hdr monitor)

oh i understand now, HDR for videos is not available on XZP its not a software thing, our device simply doesnt support HDR video recording.
as for photos, I dont notice a difference mostly, but I think auto includes auto HDR because also on oreo i didnt notice a difference unless its in outdoors with a lot of trees and colorful environment there could be a slight difference noticed

the snapdragon 835 can do hdr video capture( https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-835-mobile-platform ) and the camera sensor is the same on xzp and xzp2 so it is just sony disabling features in older phones to force you to buy their latest phone. UPDATE : it seems the image pipeline was redone for xz2 premium so we are out of luck with our "old" xz premium if we want hdr video.
The XZ Premium can't record HDR Videos (4K)
But we got SDR TO HDR Conversion. It's the "new" video image enchantment. Sony support confirmed it on Twitter DMs. As the name says, it works on video and it can work on a few apps that they don't mention which.

I have tried it and so can you, I can confirm, here is how I tested:
watched the video on youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XTvrXLfheI&t=49s
was very very crisp and detailed but the video isnt HDR, so I gave it a shot and downloaded the video with 4k youtube downloader app on my PC and placed the video on my device, then watched it there, total different story mate!! I am so happy! I started flipping between recent's app going to youtube and back to the video app (or photo they both support it) while I was watching the same video on both, and I was shocked to see that its ALOT more colorful and dynamic in the video app than on youtube (set on 4k on youtube).
I was skeptical about it but now that I tried, I can confirm with full confidence that we have SDR to HDR!
try it your self and let me know if you notice it too

you are talking about hdr video playback, i am speaking about hdr video capture (but again not in a hdr video codec, just raising details in the shadows and the highlights by combining multiple exposures in a non hdr video codec, exactly what is done in hdr photo and like what you see here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgyR00UiWJE )
XZ Premium uses BionzX for camera , and it does not support HDR recording. On XZ2 and on camera uses Qualcomm ISP for camera processing.

Hi everyone!
Is there any tips, hack or custom ROM which unlock 4k 60fps in third apps? At this time, only OOS cam can record at this resolution/fps but FILMIC Pro is a great app for filming like a pro but they say that oneplus lock 60fps in third apps...
Thanks ?
