[NEWS] [GOOGLE ASSISTANT] [16 DEC] [ANDROID 7.1.2] Hotword for Google assistant Adds - Xiaomi Mi A1 Guides, News, & Discussion

Today morning, when i thought of retraining my voice model,i saw a prompt saying say "ok google" and "hey Google"?
And it came out to be working.
Now the google assistant can recognise you whenever you will say "hey Google" or "ok Google" ?
That's a nice and more life-like Update.

So much better, now our relationship has become more friendly! xD

Google Assistant running on Moto X pure.

Not sure if there is a thread on this already or not but I have gotten Google assistant to work with the exception of '' OK Google '' voice prompt.

Should I post a tutorial?
It was fairly simple. Root and Xposed version 81 are required.
Yes, please.
That'll be helpful. For some reason it's not enabled even after installing AndroidN-ify exposed module on mine. I guess I need an updated Google App for that, not sure though. Looking forward to your tutorial

You can get it working with the "Ok Google" prompt as well, but you give up Moto Voice.
Turn off Moto Voice and the Assistant Xposed Mod
Reboot phone
Google App -> Settings -> Voice -> "Ok Google" Detection
Set up "Ok Google" detection
Turn the Assistant Xposed Mod back on
Reboot phone
Launch the assistant with "Ok Google" and it will walk you through the process for voice detection again.
A couple notes:
If you don't turn the Xposed Mod off, selecting Ok Google settings will crash the app, and it needs to be set up at least once.
If you don't turn off Moto Voice, it will use Google Now instead of the Assistant when you use voice activation.

The Material Xposed Installer is probably the easiest way to do it, if you're already rooted and have TWRP installed.

Did all of those. Google assistant even comes up when I say 'Ok Google' now. But every time it goes into training mode. And the Google app still crashes when I go into 'Ok Google detection' menu. Any idea why it's so? Do I also have to update my Play services app?

It is a known issue and I think it hasn't been solved yet.
Android N-ify nightlies xposed module besides the assistant brings more Nougat goodies. https://ci.paphonb.xyz/jenkins/job/AndroidN-ify/ http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-android-n-ify-features-t3345091
Google Assistant on Nougat, Xposed not needed. Get Assistant - Root app on the Play store. It changes your build.prop for you as well as backing the old one up and tells you what to do from there. Only thing is whenever you use the "Okay Google" and assistant opens it keeps going back to the setting to train your voice. Like it isn't saving it but it will recognize your voice once you press "Do it later". Another way around is I long press my home button, assistant opens, then you can talk. Once the assistant is already open "Okay Google" works just fine.
This is running on AICP 12.1 Nightlies (Nougat)

Yeah I'm with you on that, I'm using TruePureXMM v2.9 with GravityBox, Android N-ify & Assistant Enabler and after setting up Ok Google voice detection in the Google App / Settings, and then again once within the Assistant when it first opened... It's not having 1 issue at all and isn't asking to retrain, even after a reboot and works perfectly with both Ok Google and long-pressing the home button. Outstanding!!!
I noticed on the new Google beta app 6.10.33.21 that Google assistant no longer needs chop assistant on any custom nougat Roms. The retain voice bug is gone! Happy day!

Just confirmed that it is also working on my Nexus 6. Once the Google beta app is installed the retrain issue is resolved. Nexus 6 is stock rooted with assistant.
My Google assistant is now showing "can't reach Google at the moment" getting the same issue on my Nexus 6. Google now works but the assistant just quit working. Anyone else having this issue?
now that google assistant is rolling out to all devices, which is better for stock, our moto voice or the google 1?

Not able to enable "Say 'Ok Googl' any time" option for Google Assistant in Nexus 6

Not able to enable "Say 'Ok Googl' any time" option for Google Assistant in Nexus 6
Hi All,
I installed Google Assistant and Pixel Launcher by going through forum posts here. Things are working good. But, every time I say 'Ok Google', Google Assitant brings up 'Teach Google Assistant...' window. I tried going to Settings -> Google -> Search & Now -> Google Assitant and enable this feature. It brings up Teach window and I train it by saying 'Ok Google' 3 times. Though it complete the training, the option doesn't get enabled.
Any idea?
Thank you

Google Assistant not working

Hello forum.
After hearing that with Xposed I was able to get Google assistant I was ecstatic. I was going to mainly use it in my vehicle for voice commands without being tied to the Google app. However, when downloading the modded Xposed module of Android N-Ify and the Google Beta app It sort of worked. When double tapping the home button I was greeted with Google search, when I said "Ok Google" android assistant prompts me to train my voice. After training my voice it goes to home screen and nothing else happens. When I go back and say "Ok Google" in the google app it prompts me to retrain my voice again. Confused, I went into the Google settings and under voice -> "Ok Google" detection it is switched off. When uninstalling the Xposed module I am able to use "Ok Google" from only the Google app itself and the Ok Google is ticked and says only from the Google app. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or my ROM is not allowing me to use it.
Relevant information:
Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Provider: T-Mobile
ROM: AICP for the Galaxy Note 4, T-Mobile variant.
Thanks!

"OK Google" doesn't unlock phone

I've recently discovered this cool feature of unlocking the phone by just saying "OK Google" but it doesn't work.
I set up everything and turned on the Voice Match option but it doesn't unlock. I tried to clear the cache and I tried to retrain the voice options multiple times but still it doesn't even vibrate when I say "OK Google". Absolutely nothing happens.
I have a Huawei P8 Lite 2017 please help me out!

"Hey Google" Commercial unlocked my phone.

So much for voice recognition?
I can't unlock mine at all with assistant.
Don't you have to say "OK Google" and not "Hey Google" for the Google Assistant to work? That's how mine works. You must have gotten a special assistant.

Depends, for some reason my phone has given me the option, ON OCCASION to use "Hey Google."
I think it was a test at one point. I dont see the Hey Google options any more on my S9+.
Here is more info: https://support.google.com/assistant/answer/7394306?hl=en
And yes, the commercials or any thing that says "Hey Google" or "Ok Google" will activate it. Dont think the phone call if its a recording or a real person.

That is is definitely strange. I guess I am lucky that those commercials don't trigger my phone.
When I set up Google Assistant on my phone, the bit where you say out loud "OK Google" three times was modified, instead it was "OK Google" twice followed by "Hey Google" twice.

Hmmm...weird that it did that.
The voice training can use some work. I've got mine locked down so no matter how many times a friend says the trigger word in whatever voice they try, it would only open for me. Kinda annoying when I would be talking and it would unlock when the closest thing I said was "Hey (other word)". Which doesn't even rhyme with google. I've had this phone for about a little over a week now and only had it unlock twice at a bar and the only sound at the time was music from a distant speaker.
