Hello everyone.
I created a simple overlay for Substratum, that themes the navbar with custom icons.
*You can download the navbars as standalone apk's, from my dropbox.
What's new in the next version:
- iOS dots style signal - DONE
- Pills style signal - WIP
- 3-5 new navbar overlays - DONE
- maybe, 20% changes, to move the signal in the left side of the screen (like on iOS) - WIP

I take any request. just let me know what icons and as what buttons do you want to be used for ?
Is it possible to make the buttons completely transparent? I want to have no buttons visible and not having to swipe up to use them.

I can make them invisible, and for not having to swipe up to use them just double press the little dot in the left..
And just to be clear, you want them invisible but still be able to use them ?
Hi ! How Are You Bro ?
Just one little Question .... :
does it work on Android Oreo ?????

Hello everyone.
One day, a friend sent a Pixel navbar overlay apk. I'm not a big fan of the Pixel, but I liked the idea of an overlay apk to change my navbar icons.
So I decompiled the pixel navbar apk and used my own icons. This is the result.
There are 4 version:
- Stock Recent and Back buttons and Flash icon as home button
- Stock Recent and Back buttons and Flash icon as home button but with thunders when pressed
- Supergirl icon as Recent button, Flash icon as home button and Arrow icon as a back button
- Supergirl icon as Recent button, Flash icon as home button but with thunders when pressed and Arrow icon as a back button
Just install them as a normal apk and then reboot. Hope you like them.

That's only when an app is opened and not on the home screen.
Yep, invisible but still usable like normal.

Hi all!
Here is my modification of Statusbar Widget. I reworked icons and background in SE style.
Can be installed on Wolfbreak's WB-XPERIA Gingerbread 4, Stock 2.3.3 ROM and maybe other ROMs based on stock (needs testing and your reports).

First, I was using ApkTools to unpack the file, then I replaced images named quickpanel_icon_***.png with my icons and quickpanel_quick_settings_background.png with my background. After that I repacked .apk (again via ApkTools) and then I replaced these images and resources.arsc file with my modded packed ones in original .apk.
That's all.
Any chance to have this on stock 2.3.3?

Unfortunately, I'm just a humble modder. I don't know exactly what changes Wolfbreak did to make it work. Maybe someone more skilled could do that mod for stock rom. I would appreciate that.
Edit. I 've just tried to install the mod on stock...and it works!!!..Though needs more testing.

BTW - can we have different kind of icons/action in the bar? I mean, instead of rotation, I'd prefer APN switch. Is it possible?

There is some chunk of resources for configuration menu in this mod but I think it's not used.
All tasks for additional functionality require finding the source of this mod or some kind of tutorial.

Sounds like you want immersive mode.
Cataclysm rom offers it
the Xposed framework module 'Gravity box' also offers it. Also includes some nifty pie controls to provide navigation without a nav bar. I love it.

I'm using a app called Ultimate Dynamic Navbar. You can make it transparent. It is a navbar replacement tho. You will have to hide your stock navbar using the build.prop edit posted above. The only problem is sometimes it blocks buttons and links if they are behind it. Look in the first pic. The quick reply in tapatalk is blocked. I have it set so I can hold the home button and the navbar hides. The way to bring it back I swipe up from the bottom. I don't know of a way to make the status bar transparent tho.

No, as far as I know the app is merely cosmetic. Actual navbar function edits can be done per custom ROM or through some xposed modules depending on what ROM you are running.
That's a bummer! I can't believe they removed that setting!

If you did the Extreme Power Saver mod, you substituted the Spring messaging app for the Verizon one. I didn't get the missing messages bubble on my last handset when I activated that mod. Not running it on this handset and I get the bubble.
Well, I did do the extreme power mod, but the messaging app doesn't look any different! Is there any way to remove the power mod so I can see if the unread bubble comes back? Thanks for the help!

PLEASE NOTE: Since these Softkeys are targeted at non-root users, the icon for "recent apps" is used instead of the "menu" buttons. This might not please everybody, but if you want me to change it, just request it!
The icons used in the first version for Quickmemo and Notification panel drop-down are grey AOSP ones. If you want the "original" where Recents, back and home are Android L-themed, please look further below.
DOWNLOAD LINKS:
First version where the "menu" softkeys are themed as "recents" - this is mostly for non-root users who'd like the look of stock AOSP, but cannot get the "recents"- button on their navbarhttps://www.sendspace.com/file/hi7vqq
Second version: There was a request for a "normal" one, download that here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/l5j6wiipbzv6z4j/vProAndroidLSoftkeys.apk?dl=0
Changes: Back, Home, Recents, Qmemo and Menu are Android L themed, . Credits for navbar base: @AyDee. Credits for menu and Qmemo icons go to motomoto00. This one is what you would use if you are rooted and have the recent apps button. This one DOES indeed work!
Updated as of November 22.
2.0 (Black Icons on White Background
Download here: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ymykax
Back, Home and Recent buttons are Android L-themed, Qmemo and notification dropdown are custom.
If you have any requests, please let me know!
Installation instructions
After installing the APK, go into "Settings", "Display", "Front Touch Buttons" and lastly go into "Colour". Then either pick AOSP vPro97 Softkeys or AOSP Softkeys (depending on which one you downloaded).
The only way to make these custom icons stick on home screen on a non-rooted device is by disabling transparancy in Settings-Screen-Touch Buttons menu. With a rooted device, install either G2Tweaksbox or G3Tweaksbox depending on which rom you are using. These custom icons work on both G2 roms and G3 ported roms and you can easily uninstall it again.
Possibly an utterly daft question, and I should frankly know better. But, I assume being rooted wont be a problem to having these?
Also, as I use g2 Tweaksbox and xposed and bleed immersive mode etc, would that all work with these icons?
Great softkeys, pls make 'normal' edition where recent is recent button and menu ise menu...

You might have to disable G2 xposed or at least the nav bar options. It seems it overrides the stock front touch button options. In G2 xposed you just load png images of each key and it will not work with the TweaksBox options.
Edit- I haven't used bleed immersive. I was thinking of tinted status bar option in TweaksBox which works the same. Not sure how it will work with BIM...
Disabled the nav bar settings and tried installing again. Took me to the buttons menu in settings. They werent there to choose, will prob leave it for now, am just getting impatient for L already ha ha.

How to install
1. Install Substratum.
2. If you're rooted just skip to step 3. If not, you need to purchase the Substratum plugin, named Andromeda.
3. Enter Substratum, proceed to Settings and check "Sungstromeda mode" (After March security patch, this step is essential for any overlay to work).
4. Select Manage and enter in Custom Navbar Overlays app.
5. Select from the drop down menu what you want to overlay, check the on top box and press the "Install selected" button, located on the bottom of the app.
6. Restart your phone.
7. Enjoy
If you want more navbars and want something specific, buy me a beer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=paid.customnavbar.overlays

do you have Substratum installed ?and Andromeda ?
The app works. Free and paid version as well. Tried them before uploading to dropbox and playstore
Is there any overlay to make the navbar transparent in apps? I mean, to just see the three buttons (home/back/recents) but the rest of the bar to be completely transparent (like when you are in home screen).
