Hello xda!
First of all, huge thanks to @AyDee who has helped me do this! I am VERY thankful for his great help and I couldn't do this without him!

PLEASE NOTE: Since these Softkeys are targeted at non-root users, the icon for "recent apps" is used instead of the "menu" buttons. This might not please everybody, but if you want me to change it, just request it!
The icons used in the first version for Quickmemo and Notification panel drop-down are grey AOSP ones. If you want the "original" where Recents, back and home are Android L-themed, please look further below.
DOWNLOAD LINKS:
First version where the "menu" softkeys are themed as "recents" - this is mostly for non-root users who'd like the look of stock AOSP, but cannot get the "recents"- button on their navbarhttps://www.sendspace.com/file/hi7vqq
Second version: There was a request for a "normal" one, download that here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/l5j6wiipbzv6z4j/vProAndroidLSoftkeys.apk?dl=0
Changes: Back, Home, Recents, Qmemo and Menu are Android L themed, . Credits for navbar base: @AyDee. Credits for menu and Qmemo icons go to motomoto00. This one is what you would use if you are rooted and have the recent apps button. This one DOES indeed work!
Updated as of November 22.
2.0 (Black Icons on White Background
Download here: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ymykax
Back, Home and Recent buttons are Android L-themed, Qmemo and notification dropdown are custom.
If you have any requests, please let me know!
Installation instructions
After installing the APK, go into "Settings", "Display", "Front Touch Buttons" and lastly go into "Colour". Then either pick AOSP vPro97 Softkeys or AOSP Softkeys (depending on which one you downloaded).
The only way to make these custom icons stick on home screen on a non-rooted device is by disabling transparancy in Settings-Screen-Touch Buttons menu. With a rooted device, install either G2Tweaksbox or G3Tweaksbox depending on which rom you are using. These custom icons work on both G2 roms and G3 ported roms and you can easily uninstall it again.
Possibly an utterly daft question, and I should frankly know better. But, I assume being rooted wont be a problem to having these?
Also, as I use g2 Tweaksbox and xposed and bleed immersive mode etc, would that all work with these icons?
Great softkeys, pls make 'normal' edition where recent is recent button and menu ise menu...

Downloaded and installed. Any help about how to set them as default? I went to settings - front touch buttons - but it takes me to g2 xposed nav bar settings. I can get to thw point where I can select a new icon but can't find these.

You might have to disable G2 xposed or at least the nav bar options. It seems it overrides the stock front touch button options. In G2 xposed you just load png images of each key and it will not work with the TweaksBox options.
Edit- I haven't used bleed immersive. I was thinking of tinted status bar option in TweaksBox which works the same. Not sure how it will work with BIM...
Disabled the nav bar settings and tried installing again. Took me to the buttons menu in settings. They werent there to choose, will prob leave it for now, am just getting impatient for L already ha ha.

They are labeled AOSP VPro97 or something like that.

Sorry, android only allows system apps to change location settings.
GPS can be toggled in this app due to an exploit in the AOSP power-toggle-widget.
But for example on Samsung phones, this is not possible (samsung changed the widget settings).
I would if I could. Long click GPS icon will bring you to the location settings page, wich is still faster then browsing to it with the normal settings app.

Unfortunately, it's the same story as I wrote in my previous post.
Android restricts the toggling to system only. I'm not completely sure though, so I'll do some googling again.

In the new version is written, that the trial version is over. But there was never written that this is an trial version. There are only differences between the functions in the beta and the pro.
Wanted to test the app and than buy the pro, but not like this.

I got a suggestion, tell me if you like it (this will gold for all people):
-User will get a 4 day trial of all functions
-After 4 days, you won't be able to use Configure anymore, and the data already configured will be reset
-When you install the PRO version , everything will come back.
Deal or no deal?
Tell me if you have a suggestion too.
Desire HD with Sense 4.1
I have to tap on the quick settings shortcut on the home screen, otherwise the normal Sense notifications come.
Also, I have to press the back button to go back, swiping up doesnt work.

Is it possible that i get a testers licence?

Sure it does. It's not a statusbar replacement, it just has a UI like it.
About swiping it up: I'm working on this, but bugfixes are more important in my opinion.
You can press the statusbar close shade anyway to close it, it'll do the same as the back button.
Thanks for not giving a bad rating!

I'm working on it!
At the moment it gives me a blank black page on the second page when I try. But I'll keep working on it
Did a little digging and it turns out that it's the small horizontal notification toggle bar that is inflated into the large toggle page.
This means that it's not possible to hide the small bar through the xml (Which also explains why I get the black page when hiding the small toggle row).
I'll take a look at the smali after my exams (It's gotta be in there), but for now this is what you get

dude, is there any way you can mod the launcher to never redraw? like, lock it into memory? that's my only issue withn the LG launcher..it's constnatly redrawing which causes major lag.
I would love it if I could just get the Recent Apps softkey back instead of that f***ing settings key.

Working with Verizon version here.....
- It's the location Icon in the status bar...crosshair looking thing. I have ALL location off but it still shows up...sooo annoying. (pic below)
- And in your mods...are the nav buttons on the bottom and the status bar on the top transparent with other launchers? (without mods, they stay opaque in apex launcher)
- Bonus lol: Any chance of moving battery percent on top of actual battery icon? Or a new icon with the percentage loaded on top of it?!? Please?!
Omg if you can do these 3 items you will be the MAN.

What do you mean swipe?
Well not so much hide the status bar...but whenever you use the stock LG launcher...the bottom soft keys and the top status bar are transparent...as soon as you use an app or a 3rd party launcher, they become solid....anyway of keeping them transparent in a 3rd party launcher?
I need to check.. please upload the systemui.apk

Ok...where do i find that lol.
Ill have to try this mod out when i get home later, something to do for the time being. really cant wait for a Jishnu rom in the future since he is an exclusive LG dev he really knows his stuff about LG devices
I see that app rename is a feature, but how do I do it?
Lots of features listed, but can we get some instructions on how to use them? Like easy ui, icon options, font options ect..... I know u said go to settings/homescreen and there would be more options, but mine looks just as it did..... Awesome, thanks!
Could somebody, please, make a smaller nav bat keys mod for 4.4? Gravity box is not working propertly under sony's kitkat, Xblast changes size only in vertical orientation, so, if could someone to do the mod, please, do it.

Thanks. I was wondering since I see all these posts about "how do I get a small nav bar?" after the update.

Well that just because the stock home buttons are SOOO big most people who mod the UI reduce the size of the buttons first, and when they appear back like stock they look very clunky.
my nav bar icons are at 24 dpi, less than half the size of the stock ones, when I upgraded they just looked awful as the stock ones... I would not mind if they were invisible, I know where to press the screen, I don't an icon to show me
Me too! I just can't stand these huge buttons.
They are taking away so much space and look really ugly and outdated.
I was running 4.2.2 since September with size 25 buttons and it was awesome. Looked so nice and sleek.
After upgrading to KK they look like they come with a magnifying glass...
In the days of the 4.2.2 firmwares there were mods but since 4.3 there's none.
I don't get it. Is no one annoyed by them anymore?!
I have also root on KK and could apply a mod...if there would be one.
I've already posted in the other smaller navkey thread before I saw this one.

Just hold down a bit...stock based ROMs are here in a few days and we'll release and build on a new themes...
Use X Blast for now, yeah...there's landscape problem but it's better to have only portrait then nothing
It's not that bad...

@funky0308 - Since you're a themer, I thought I would ask. The resource that allows you to change the height of the nav bar is under /values. That isn't accessible unless the APK is decompiled (in resources.arsc). How is a mod like this possible without replacing the entire SystemUI.apk? Or is it not possible? I thought I would try to do it using VRtheme, but it isn't possible since the file is in /values.

It works but the back button stays huge. Is this normal or can it be fixed? The nav bar is also only small in portrait mode and the old size with landscape.
Just like with XBlast (but there the back button is small)

Decompile systemUI (or that MOD you have)
Open navigation_bar.xml
Find all lines
[android:id="@id/back"
and delete this:
android:scaleType="center"

My knowledge is limited concerning this or rather non existent and I'm scared to do this. I don't even know where to start!
But judging from your reply it seems not too hard (if you know what you're doing) which brings me to the question: Why didn't the mod developer do it themselves? And would this also fix the huge buttons in landscape?

No, it'll only fix back button on navigation bar.
Don't know why he didn't fix it, it's probably meant to be for other device, not Z1.

Excellent!
This is exactly what I was looking for and it works flawlessly. Both in portrait and landscape, no weird huge back button and I can even make the buttons smaller than before, but I'm using size 24 since this is what I'm used to.
This app just got updated and it's very nice for the M8! TONS of options for you... :good:

You could install Xposed and get tinted statusbar, and make all (some?) apps have transparent navbars/statusbars.

Viper Rom now has ability to change softkeys
I can't get the buttons to stick on the softkeyzI app. hit supply reboots, nothing. Only thing that changes is the button touch color.
Thanks! I was wondering if there was an easier way to do this!

I'm running ViperOne on my M8 but don't see an option to change the key itself. I know you can change the color of the keys but can you change the functionality of the keys also?

I would also like to know if you can change the button functionality with this app (or another app). I miss the setting on the DNA that let you use the app switcher button as a menu button too!

No, as far as I know the app is merely cosmetic. Actual navbar function edits can be done per custom ROM or through some xposed modules depending on what ROM you are running.
That's a bummer! I can't believe they removed that setting!

If you did the Extreme Power Saver mod, you substituted the Spring messaging app for the Verizon one. I didn't get the missing messages bubble on my last handset when I activated that mod. Not running it on this handset and I get the bubble.
Well, I did do the extreme power mod, but the messaging app doesn't look any different! Is there any way to remove the power mod so I can see if the unread bubble comes back? Thanks for the help!
