xposed for pixel 2 - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Of course i know, that xposed isn't official released for android 8 yet. And a 7.1 rom will never exist in the future for pixel 2, i think. Is there any other possibility I forgot? Does anyone know an unofficial xposed for android 8 build?
Please, no discussion why xposed must be used at all

We just have to wait like we did for nougat
Nothing else we can do about it or if you know how to code you can try yourself but that the path where no one wants to go right

Any hope for non Cm11 roms?

I love how minimalistic cm 11 is but I can't stand the simple boring interfaces like the phone app. Didn't know if anyone knew if any other Rome could possibly be ported to here that weren't cm 11 based.

Just wait for some time until developers are able to get the phone (invites will roll out next week on friday), so give it another month and there will be more ROMs here for sure. Just be patient!
I am positive we are going to at least see a ColorOS version pop up, it by far is already a ROM we can flash only needs converted to English if it hasn't already.
We should see custom ROM support when more people and developers finally get the device in hand.

[Q] Do you have to install a ROM to get xposed?

Do I need to get a ROM with xposed on it or can I install it myself without one? This is my first nexus device so I'm new to this territory! Sorry for the newbie question

Xposed isn't nexus specific so the same rules apply to any Android device.
The point of Xposed is to be able to apply custom features without having to change rom or edit your existing rom, so nope - you can use whatever rom is there now

Your device does, however, have to be rooted.

Okay thank you - so don't HAVE to have a ROM right? I am on Vomers stock ATM so in theory I can just flash xposed on and done?
Just confusing because all the other phones I've had its just always been a part of the Roms I've used and I don't see one in the nexus specific Roms!

Xposed is an apk that you install. Then from there, you install frameworks. I've never seen it included in any rom.

It's included in a few ROMs which are just small modifications of the stock ROM lol.. And they usually come with GravityBox which is kind of pointless and you might as well use a full AOSP/CAF custom ROM.

Ah the sorts of ROMs I stay away from then
To be honest, if you're including it with a ROM, it means you either cannot be bothered to or do not have the skill to add teh functions to a rom, in either case - perhaps you shouldn't release a "rom" hahah

I want the HTC sense 6 keyboard

Can anyone please port the HTC sense 6 keyboard for the nexus 5 because I really love it but when I install it in system apps it says that the keyboard isn't compatible with my device while when I used the NexSense Rom the keyboard was working great but the rom is missing the sound and camera so please if anyone can port it for me

So it's immposible to happen, if you know a way or guid can u please tell me, I can try
You'll need to either;
1) reverse engineer all the HTC frameworks and work out what code is required for the keyboard to work then inject that code into AOSP
2) port a HTC ROM to the nexus 5
I can't help you with either

the Blinkfeed seems to be working with Nexus 5 with mod so i suppose the frame work should be installed for it to work. should this not be the same case.
correct me if i am wrong as i am no expert.

Yeah sure, if you can figure out what it needs to make a framework "file" like the blinkfeed mod. This would be option 1 in my previous post.

During the forum thread for NexSense ROM, some key issues weren't able to be fixed and many people tried. The issues are much deeper than just modifying a file, first you have to know what's in HTC framework and add it to your ROMs. Now the problem was described by rootSU's post. It is unfortunately difficult.
This means that yes, it's not impossible to get HTC apps and and an HTC ROM, it just hasn't been done yet by a skilled developer. The OP of NexSense made tons of progress though.
There has been some news of HTC releasing some of its apps like Zoe and blinkfeed in the play store for all android devices. I think the next best thing might be to wait and see what HTC does with that idea and exactly what apps they plan to release

Keep telling that xtended module is not installed, even if it is checked in xposed...
It seems that this is not a new problem regarding other threads...
Any solution so far?

Mate @Sayyed46,
Please try to post things with some sort of disclaimer, especially those that could result as a bricked phone.
I was lucky this time and xposed just doesn't work, but by reading different articles on this matter, I found out that lots of "lollipop" owners were not so lucky and that final solution for this "xposed and xtended" problem on lollipop didn't emerge yet. Did you do that before posting this?
So please, next time if you want to share something useful for this community, provide us with a reference to the doable and checked solution and let us decide if we want to risk or not to install it. I think that one banned project here is far enough.
Tnx
Sayyed, can u please send me link for suol rom v1.2.1
I have searched entire forum, but couldn't find the link.
Thank you

ci.android.com

i found this site, is owned by google? is safe to flash aosp from there?
It's the ci builds that https://flash.android.com/ uses. I'd not recommended flashing them unless you're a developer and need to test stuff though. They're not daily driver material at all.
