WARNING: DON'T COME TO ME COMPLAINING THAT YOU BRICKED YOUR DEVICE. YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE WARNINGS
Here's the best set up I've found, LineageOS 14.1 Nightly, Franco Kernel rk113 3.4.0, SuperSU v2.82, and No Frills CPU Controller. Franco Kernel increases battery life crazily on it's own, then add LineageOS and SuperSU and use No Frills to underclock it. It lasts forever. You could even add the LG G2 battery mod to this and have a god tier battery.
Note though, flash LineageOS > SuperSU > Franco Kernel. If you flash the kernel before LineageOS it may be over written and your kernel will be messed up. (I know this for a fact will happen with Magisk 15.2). Before doing any of this make sure you have a back up using TWRP and/or Titanium Backup in case you mess up.
LineageOS 14.1 Nightly:https://download.lineageos.org/hammerhead
Franco Kernel: https://kernels.franco-lnx.net/Nexus5/7.1.1/anyKernel/ (scroll all the way down until you see a file called "fk-r113-anykernel2.zip" and download that.)
SuperSU 2.82: http://www.supersu.com/download (scroll down until you see the section called "Zips" and download the latest version).
No Frills CPU Controller: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.sineo.android.noFrillsCPU&hl=en
Hope you enjoy If so please hit that "Thanks" button! (Also the OS doesn't really affect the performance)

I'm wondering how you go about Gapps?

Hopefully get some audio tweaks on this kernel <3 great job
Make one for n910c
Looking very nice mate, hope to see more tweaks, we have a beast of Exynos and with this new kernel could possibly get the most out of it, is there any key reason on why you compiled it with Linaro and not with Uber?.
Hi guys
you can be this version on the model H to Install??

I really cringe at the thought of even dignifying that with a response. Read the original post to avoid looking like a fool again.
Flashed it earlier today. The Kernel feels really good on Sweet ROM V10. I'm getting good battery on it (left my Note 4 alone for around 8 hours and came back with just 15% battery drain -- and that's with all these email accounts and so forth polling in the background) and it feels smooth the way V11 felt smooth to me.
I like Kernels and ROMs that Devs put together for themselves. They're usually pretty reliable as daily drivers. Great job!
Well , i run dr ketan rom and i leave my cell ag 100% for 5-6 hours and when I wake up is still at 100% ! Im happy with that

While the Dev's certainly free to do whatever he pleases, I hope he continues refining his U kernel
I think it's in poor taste to hijack someone's thread to ask for unrelated assistance -- DM'ing the Dev would have sufficed. The amount of effort would've been the same. By doing it publicly, you aren't really asking for help; you're asking for attention.
This is similar to that time a few people started spamming the Exynos threads asking for donations to a specific Note 4 CM12 project so that the Dev could buy a Note 4 and develop CM12 for ONE variant -- without ANY assurance whatsoever that it would be released for other variants. As we've all seen, there are enough differences between the variants that successfully developing for one doesn't mean being able to release a build that works with another.
In terms of levels -- this is just one rung above asking whether this kernel works on 910H or 910C. Not good form.
My main attention is the N910U as it's the device I own Time depending, I'm going to investigate sound mods and may offer a couple of versions based off of Linaro and UBER (when im more familiar with it). No ETAs

Hi Agasharr,
Overclock 1.46 GHz working fine with your G386FXXUAOA1_G386FPRTAOD1_PRT.zip !
What's next ?
Thanks !
Hi, in next kernel i'll add:
CPU Governor (userspace, smartassV2)
I/O Scheduler (sio, deadline)
Added:
smartassV2 had some issues (running always at max speed) and was removed
lulzactive seems to have same issue, it's still in kernel but i'll probably remove it

I'm not sure it safe to flash boot.img from a different firmware and i advice to prepare own boot.img as described in first post. Maybe stefguer can tell.

Nor am I. But i see no sense in including all of them. Mostly there are based on Ondemand, Conservative or Interactive (as described in link You provided). So it's a matter to choose the best of it's type and tweak the settings to our device.
@Agasharr I agree with you, I ignore which is the best for us. By the way, this list may be outdated since 2012, maybe some new governors exist now ? @benplay G386FXXUAOA1_G386FPRTAOD1_PRT 2.zip flashed OK today with odin 3.10.6 for my French G386F too.
New kernel uploaded, cpu overcloced to 1,612 MHz.
Added nightmare governor.
Phone is stable, but running few benchmarks makes it definitely warm.
Maybe it's time to make http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-4x-hd/general/guide-homemade-heatsink-easy-to-make-t2971385
Antutu score rises to ~18700.
As some kind of summary (the left side, in green, my g386f with the latest kernel, the right side is "average" g386f from Antutu database)
Hi Agasharr,
With overclock 1.612 GHz, I get Antutu score 19246 with ondemand governor.
I guess next step is upgrade to Android kitkat, isn't it ?
Thanks !
Hi stefguer.
I wish it could be possible. But seems that no one can hack secure boot of g386f.In fact it's reason I named this kernel "last hope".
Shame for secure boot. What is your next upgrade then ?
I've some ideas if they work I'll let You know. But don't expect anything soon. Especially with such enthusiastic feedback I'm getting now
btw. inspired by the http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-4x-hd/general/guide-homemade-heatsink-easy-to-make-t2971385
I decided to make something with this additional heat from overclocking, i used termopad to transfer heat to more areas, 1 mm thick is max that can fit, if someone would like to try something similar I advice 0,5 mm
You gave me hope one more time in the Galaxy Core LTE !
However I have some questions... I'm not pretty good about android and the developpement of it and after and afeter reading many tutoriels I don't succed in getting mu boot.img : so how do you made ?
Hoping one day my phone will be with Cyanogen ^^
Hi, You want to flash kernel?
If so download G386FXXUAOA1_G386FPRTAOD1_PRT 3.zip
from the first post, unpack and flash it with odin (tool to flash samsung's firmwares)
If You want to prepare own boot.img just to be sure it's safe. You need to download samsung firmware (same version that is in your G386F), and follow the procedure described in the opening post.

Nice ! Well, i think i won't try your kernel since my battery is not really in a good state and overclocking would make it worst, but do you think you could add OTG support in the kernel ? It seems the material and rom are OTG ready ('drivers' etc) but the kernel isn't

Help Request: [P3110] Cm13 Android 6.0.1 Custom Kernel, Root & Test Review (Updated)

Help Request: [P3110] Cm13 Android 6.0.1 Custom Kernel, Root & Test Review (Updated)
Greetings Everyone;
I've flashed "CM13 Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) [Unofficial]"
[Detailed Info]
Android Version: 6.0.1
CyanogenMod Version: 13.0-20160911-1524-Unofficial-expressowifi
Build Date: 11/09/2016
Build Number: cm_expressowifi-userdebug 6.0.1 MOB31e f5b160c161 test-keys
Kernel: 3.0.101-g34c045f
I'm Extremelly Happy with it.
So far i believe everything is working (almost) perfectly - Not much to point out so far.
The only things i can point out are:
- In some Wifi Networks, the Wifi won't get Stable (Works great at my own Network at Home, but Constatly Disconnects on My Job Network) - Yet I'm not 100% Sure if this issue is related to CM 13 6.0.1 ROM.
- Battery Consumption is above Normal (as expected, but I noticed that it consumes too much battery and that it will still discharge while charging.
I.e: While playing (i.e: Playing SimCity). However it will still it hold on for a Really Great Time While under Intensive use.
* Aprox. 3h ~ 4h (On Battery)
* Aprox. 4h ~ 6h (While Charging / Discharging)
Normal Usage: It works perfectly normal (specially great power saving while device is idle / standby).
Due to this Battery Consuption Issue and for Battery Saving / Overclock Purposes i've been looking (without success) for:
How to Root Android 6.0.x and a Custom Kernel that would let me Underclock (For Longlasting Battery) / (Overclock for Performance Purposes)
After some extensive search i could find this XDA Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/galaxy-tab-2-unified/rom-cyanogenmod-13-cm13-0-t3303798
But as far as i understand it requires to be compiled; and i have no skills on how to do it (Never tried it to be honest).
Can anyone point me out on the Good Direction for:
- How to Root;
- Custom Kernel
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards;
Richard G.
Andi cm13 rom is perfect I'm using it and won't change it for anything else except the N rom.
If you are looking for for a good kernel to overclock or downclock this is the only one compatible with it with minor issues (the boot iui will turn 90 degree) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183830
Other than that everything is fine...

Hello Zidane01;
Thanks for your prompt repply.
I believe i'm using Android-Andi's CM13 Rom (I really don't remember the website source).
However i updated the thread and included detailled information about it / what i am doing here.
I think other p3110 users without this ROM will apreciate the information above.
Did you manage to Root / Get Root Permissions with that ROM? (if so, How / Where? - Manually; with CF-Root; other method?)
Regarding the Kernel:
I Will give it a try, and write some more about it later.
I've been reading the Dhollmen Kerned Thread; the issue is known among other users as well. It will Most likely be fixed in the future (hopefully).
I don't know wich file you've flashed in your device; however according to the Thread:
Quoting (With Slightly Improved English and 1 Tip)
" If you're on Marshmallow then Flash Latest "DhollmenM Kernel" (Notice the Capital M); but i dont think it will boot up on new CM 13 Builds.
Important: DON'T Flash DhollmenCM as this is for Jellybean CM10!!!!! "

Hi. All Andi and Ziyan roms are already rooted . To get root access you have to go to settings then about my tablet go down to build number then keep hitting it until you get developers access now go back and in developer options go to root access change it from disabled to apps only or apps and adb if you are planning or know how to use adb

Stable ROM Recommended

Hello,
I have installed xiaomi eu ROM (android 7 and MIUI 9.5) for some months.
In last weeks I got a lot of CPU consumption draining my batt quickly, probably caused by an app. I have test different apps, however none of them show %cpu by process/app. I have read Google don't "let hardware access" for these data from version 6 and that is the reason. Is it like that? With root, would be the same result?
Now, I have done a software reset but I am thinking about test some new ROM (without MIUI), what will be the best recommended ROM nowadays for stability and performance: Lineage OS, AEX... and what version?
I dont mind Android version, I prefer stability, performance, battery optimized and without MIUI.
Thanks
I would say go with Lineage OS, it has regular updates, it's super stable, no problems with it, everything works and it's fast.
Also if battery life is priority then try going without gapps.
I used XOSP for a years with snapdragon mod camera and this is quite stable for my libra (2gb-16gb rom)

I tried to build both lineage 15.1 and 16 for this phone, but it fails.
I must be doing something wrong but i have no idea what.
Not worth the trouble in my opinion.

Or maybe you mean that it works with any A12/A13 ROM except stock A10/A11/A12 ones ?
