Hi folks
finally got my xda orbit the other day - lving it so far - and have managed to get the email sorted out. I sent myself a few test emails last night but upon receiving a new email it seems to delete the previous one(s). My question - to the more experienced users out there - is this: is there a setting or something I can do on the xda so doesn't delete previous emails when a new one comes through?
I apologise if I asked something already chatted about but I've been trying to find out about this problem all day.
Thanks in advance for any help!
When you set up a mail account, you get to choose how many days worth of email you want to download; if you chose "Today" then that probably explains why last night's test messages got deleted when you sent yourself new mail today........
You can change this behaviour, but be careful how much you choose to keep unless you've got a storage card!!
Go to the email Inbox, select Menu | Tools | Options, then tap on the required email account; tap Next five times until you get to a screen with "Automatic Send/Receive" and "Download messages" on - the bottom box shows how many days worth of email you're currently storing....change it to whatever your heart desires, hit Next and then Finish
Hope that helps,
Mark.
Heh - that may have been it, but I was getting (last night anyway) emails and then immeddiately (as in seconds later) I was sending a second one and the previously received one vanished. I've set it so that it downloads ALL messages - not sure if I should have it set for entire message or just headers yet...I'll see how that goes. I do have a storage card though so i'd certainly save messages to that - maybe (not sure if I can do this) I can create a folder on it and direct messages to get moved/saved there? No idea how that's done though
But thanks for the help - if you have any other tips let me know...I love this xda Going to look for mods for it...apparently there's some nice HTC themed ones out there
EDIT* This is annoying me a bit now...I just did a fresh check for emails (had 2 I received not 5 mins ago), there weren't any new ones but now those previous 2 have disappeared from my inbox list - what is going on with this thing? I can't keep losing these emails.
Hello all
Can any one help me. I've been given an office work WM6.1 mobile (touch pro 2) and it bugs me that I can't stop receiving spam emails at early hour of the morning. My business isn't larger enough to have an Exchange server which I know would be able to solve the problems.
Does anyone know of a app that I can use to choose when I pull for email, so I can set it just to work 9 to 5 / monday to friday?
Or if i've totally missed this option some where on my device... lol
Thanks again in advance.

Sorry, not sure if this helps but it's a IMAP emails system that works through a Kerio client.
Thanks again in advance

Not sure it will do what you want as it is a 3rd party service looking at your mail file and redirecting to your PPC but it might be worth a shot - Seven beta. That certainly has the option to define nights and weekends so that no mail is delivered.
You should be able to use the schedule function built into active sync to change this. I have mine set to instant (as its exchange) during 8am to 10pm and manual after that.
I don't have an IMAP/POP account but I can't see any reason why you should not be able to do that.....
(It should be in Active Sync-> Schedule)

Pocketoutlook it self has no sheduler( when to start when to stop) for POP/IMAP build in. But there is a freeware http://gudensoft.com/ that you can download. I could not find th link but there was thread in development section about that software.
Furthermore..If your company allow it.. have you consider using Gmail pushmail (FREE) ..Gmai has the best spam filter
thanks for this.
I have my own personal email on gmail (which is great) however we now have our own hosted email at work. Someone in the office had a virus which must have sent out their address list and all i get is penis enlargement and watch emails.
I've set up a rule to delete ones with certain words but some get through. I had 34 spam emails last night from the time a fell asleep to waking up.
Will try out this links... thanks again
Nice one Bulldog. I had my first pleasants night sleep last night.

Hi @all
may you can help me with this question.
My One S with firmware ""1.77.111".5 always displays e.g. 5-day-appointsments (Mo-Fr) whole-time starting at the first day and at the last day with a bar starting at 0:00 till 23.59. The day in between are displayed normals (as known from outlook).
All my appointments are synced from a exchange server and also displayed correctly in Outlook and previous HTC Sense versions...
May someone knows how to configure the display.
many thanks
Herge
Hi,
I’m a 19-years-old developer and I’ve just finished “Wishy”, my last Android App. Thanks to Wishy you can schedule SMS and e-mails, personalizing each message for every recipient. That’s perfect for Holidays! How many messages do we send every Christmas or every New Year without addressing it to the people receiving? Thanks to Wishy you can write a single message, set a date and an hour of sending and let the App modify each message with the name of the recipient, his number or the date set up before.
Obviously Wishy is not only thought for Holidays, and it is also useful to set up a meeting or organize a dinner with your friends, when you want to address everyone with its own name but there’s too many people to write to. Wishy is a perfect way to say goodbye to anonymous messages.
I hope you'll like my app, and for every suggestion, please reply

P.s. Full email support will come in a couple of days!
Hello Guys
I own an Xperia E1 (Android 4.4 based).
My contacts have an event added which is their birthday.
I am searching for a calendar app showing on the month (or week) view a notch on the date of a birthday in order for me to plan something before the crucial day... (as they do for a "normal" event.
If this calendar app can back up it's data in a "standard" format, it will be a huge bonus.
I'm tired to try every app I can find just to see it does not work.
Many many thanks in advance for your help and knowledge.
Have a bright day.
