Battery problems - Huawei Watch 2

Hi guys, I've just bought a Huawei watch 2 sport LTE and I really like it. Only problem is that the battery lasts not even a full day and I have it always on airplane mode, sometimes I turn on the Bluetooth and the AOD off. In the battery information i see that the OS takes up to the 30% while screen and other thing not even 7% each. What should I do? Maybe a factory reset??

What functions do you use? Do you use the LTE and\gps regularly? Also, do you use the power saving mode?

Hi
some various informations from my watch 2 LTE, if can help you ...
> system is around 25 to 30 % at the end of the day for me too... normal
> display always ON + LTE (4G) always ON i have about 10 hours, if i force in 3G, around 13 hours and about 14 hours... this with 2 or 3 calls and about 5 to ten notifications
> with wifi auto (as i have wifi on my work) + LTE auto, i easily get 16h / 20h
> GPS is never activated except for sport, and for me , 2 or 3 h sport needs a complete charge before to be sure... but i think it can resist 6H minimum
exemple of this day : i take my watch at 100% at 7h00 AM, 3G auto and wifi auto. my phone is connected to wifi at my house and my watch is connected to wifi at my work. As i'm in auto mode, data go threw wifi and cellular still activated for call. it's 12h00 and my battery is 67% : i only receive 2 SMS and 3 what'sapp notifi.

Problem solved guys. I had the NFC on and it seems to drain a lot lol. Disabled and from 5:30 am now is 78%

Yeah I also noticed this. I don't use NFC at all so I disabled it and I can now get almost 2 days out of the watch.

Forgot to mention, i have led blinker installed turning off led at night time so that may cause me extra drain if notifications are received
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I get about 0.4percent drain per hour on standby.
Most stuff is off. (Location, BT, G now, etc.)
if not using, and on lte(100% of the time, no WiFi)(nothing turned off but NFC and WiFi), I lose about a percent every 4-5 hours. but my phone sleeps great, and none of those Facebook type apps installed.

Battery Life

So guys, how's your battery treating you? I'm get average Battery life with 3.5 Hrs SOT with alot of Android System Drain even when phone is just idle it loses 0.5 to 1% every hour
Will post screenshots later.
Doesn't sounds good.
I'll check tomorrow

i also got high android-system battery drain. i hope this will be fixed in the next update.
Mine is quite good so far. Easily get through 2 full days with 6+h of SoT. But I disabled alot of background stuff like health tracking etc. But android system is definitely using too much power on mine as well.
Btw just got an OTA update today. Version nr. ending in ......136 now.

Eva-L09, I haven't rooted yet but there are quite a few apps that you can disable/uninstall without root.
And Google services can be an issue too. I've read that wifi/bt scanning should be disabled in marshmallow. You can find them in the Google location settings in the advanced menu.
This is how it looks like for me after a full day (see attachment).
So far my battery last about 2 days, and SOT times are just under 6 hour when i looked the last time. Im very pleased with the battery
Got 5 hours

battery drain in flightmode
Hello
My P9 dropped from 100% to 30% in 8hours, over night.
- phone was fresh rebootet before
- in flightmode
- fingerprint options off
- display always off
something from the system/launcher/default apps is draining the battery.
Phone is new, original System, i just added a handful of apps like whatsapp, telegram and so on and the design for non rounded icons.
Greetings and thanks for any idea
I've lost around 15 percent overnight as well
Facebook running in the background a lot seems suspect though.
Overall battery life seems pretty good though
Although I have no idea why the chart is always so squashed to one side :/

Also getting two days here
Night time the drain is almost zero which is nice to see when I wake.

So what are you saying, I'm laying?
Sent from my EVA-L19 using XDA-Developers mobile app
8 hours would be possible with extremely good signals and low brightness I would think. Good SOT, I'm normally at about 5 isch but then I've also have most apps running after the screen has gone of.

Phone battery drain

I've just purchased an S3 and now notice that my phone battery seems to be draining a lot more than prior. Is this just the constant bluetooth connection to the S3 ?

Standalone mode and remote connection mode are the same vis-à-vis the watch. In either case it's using it's LTE radio, doesn't matter if it's going through the network to connect to a phone (remote connection) or nothing at all (standalone)
The biggest drain on battery life is weak network signal strength. If the watch has to constantly search for a signal, it could be completely out of juice in just a handful of hours.

My watch does not seem to last a day. I've heard you should get 2 to 3 days.

My brand new Gear S3 is down 15% in 16.5 hours (0.91% per hour!) since its first full charge. Frontier, non-LTE, linked via BT to my Nexus 6P, Auto HR on, and syncing with S-Health. I'm kind of amazed.

Depends on how you use it. I only get a single day, and sometimes less. My watch is always remotely connected to my phone (which sits at home) so LTE is always on. Display is also always on. Both of these add great functionality but drain the battery.
If I'm outside a lot, or driving around town, it'll generally make it through the day. If I spend a lot of time inside buildings, reception is generally poor, it may not make it to lunch.
To maximize battery life, stay within BT range of you phone, disable AOD, turn off mobile networks and WiFi. Turn off location services. Or best yet, put it in airplane mode and DND. Then it'll last forever...
No such thing as two days...you're lucky if you get a whole day.

Should I return my Gear S3 or keep it? Please help?

Hi Guys,
I bought a Gear S3, it was preowned, so I fear that there might be some issues with its battery, including having a faulty battery completely. Can you please guide me/confirm the following battery behaviors to be true on your Gears OR do I in fact have a bad watch and it needs to be returned?
1. When watch is off the cradle, not connected to the phone (disconnected through the Gear app), but NOT in Airplane mode, it goes from 100% battery to 0 and dead within 24 hours. Normal?
2. 100% charge, wrist gesture on, Samsung pay, no LTE, just bluetooth, used for about 12 hours, message notifications, maybe 3 - 4 hours of AOD. The day ends with about 50% charge. Normal?
3. Off the cradle, in Airplane mode, started with 100% battery, not used for 12 hours, just on the desk, ~95% battery left. Normal?
4. Slightly off topic question: When a Chromecast video is playing, watch detects it, knows the title of the video, but Play/Pause, Skip doesn't work. Normal?
Appreciate your prompt input, I need to open an RMA before the end of this week. Thank you!
Your watch is ok man. Enjoy it

Haha thanks Johnny! So those are all normal scenarios in your experience?
Also, any comment the controlling the Chromecast issue? ?
This is normal
I have a Gear S3 Classic with Verizon LTE. I have AOD on (Display set to 6), and lots of notifications via email and text, but almost no phone call). I uses about 50% to 60% of battery from 7am to 9pm.
AOD is the battery killer. Also Setting uses a lot of power (install app, playing with watchface, etc.). Using custom watchface (those does not dim much in AOD mode) can suck up a lot of power.
Not sure why people really care about whether it lasts 2 days or 3 days per charge. The normal use scenario is to charge your phone and watch every night.

Thank you friend for chiming in with your experience! Can you test/confirm the Chromecast issue I talked about?
Also, very interested to hear others share their battery experiences on comment on whether my watch has a possible battery flaw?
Thank you in advance!
The chromcast issue is probably normal also. Remember the Gear S3 watch is running Tizen not Android. So incompatibility is expected. I am surprised you actually get notification on Chromcast. So Samsung did the good 50% job.

Got my android 10 update in the Netherlands

Seems to work ok.
Keep you informed
edit 21:12: Few days working now. No problems so far. I like the improvement on settings, like alternative face in recognition part, for the rest I am not very thrilled. Maybe battery will be better. Difficult to check...

I test my phone's battery always the same way. Not sure if it is the best way, but it helps me:
I charge it to 100% before going to sleep and leave everything like Sync, Wifi and Bluetooth on.
With GSAM I got 0.7 till 0.8% per hour while sleeping, so from 100 till appr. 94% left.
With Android 10 it started at .1% per hour discharging, but it is is back now at 0.8%. Thats is OK to me.
Be careful. It is location dependent. I have another appartment that gives me 0,12% all the time because (I think) Vodafone antenna is further away.
