Thanks man. I think my problem was that I got my LG watch R synced up with my Android Wear too. Once I delete it, huawei wear started syncing with my watch. Weird one

non samsung phone compatibility issues

can we compile a list of incompatible issues of all non-samsung phone?

Hi there !
Just got my Gear S2 Classic.
My phone is Huawei Honor 7 and, bad luck, Gear app was not compatbile with my phone (message "not available for your phone" on Android Play Store)
So, I've install all what was needed on my Wife's Sony Z3 compact
I've transferred the APK on my Honor 7 and ..... It worked !!
There are 3 APK to install
I am having another problem which I am pretty sure is due to not having a Samsung phone (nexus 6 running AICP).
I cannot log in to my Samsung account to download any apps (or I think to get app upgrades). When I first attach the watch after a reset I can access my Samsung account but after about a day I can no longer do so getting a message that due to inactivity my account has been logged out. When I try to log in, I get a progress circle for about 10 seconds and nothing happens.
Not a big deal since there are very few apps in which I am interested but annoying nonetheless.

Did you try to turn on "samsung gear" on "protected app"?
When it connected, can you access gear app store and install any gear app?
I'm thinking about switching from mediapad x2 to P8max because I got a blank app store issue. And I want to make sure P8 max do not have that problem first
Hi , I rooted my p8max and removed phone manager so has no security like that , connects when driving or screen on but when walking etc disconnects , Bluetooth streaming also cuts out , p8max streams music perfect to my LG tone BT phones .
---------- Post added at 11:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:08 AM ----------
When I did not root phone , tried putting gear manager in protected apps , did not make a difference
I've just purchased P8 max and it work perfectly fine with my gear s2 classic. No problem at all! I'm running stock rom, not rooted
Sent from my HUAWEI P8max using Tapatalk
I have a LG V10 H961N when Gear S2 are disconected bluetooth and Lg V10 have screen off Gear S2 doesn´t conected again auto i must screen on to conected again. Any fix for this??
Have a 'sport' S2 and Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro here.
Managed to install Samsung Gear app. Phone paired to watch over bluetooth just fine.
But when I launch Samsung Gear app and select my watch, it says Download Failed. Looks like some kind of incompatibility or lack of permissions. What do I do?

Any error messages? What version of the phone app Android Wear? With bluetooth on, can you see the watch name in the Android Wear app on the phone to attempt to pair or is it missing?

There is no error message. The phone can be seen in Android Wear but when "LG Urbane" is selected, the progress indicator begins and then after a period of time, the graphics showing a frowning phone and watch appear to indicate that the pairing was not successful.
I can't see the phone in the bluetooth settings on the watch...and when I try and pair the phone and watch via the bluetooth settings on the watch, I received the "invalid password/passkey" message. I therefore suspect that is the problem.

Not sure if yours is the same issue but I found one thread that sounds similar... https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/android-wear/HlvunkVklx8

Yes I followed the 'solution' in that thread and couldn't get beyond:
5 - wait until the watch detects the device that you really want to pair,
As my watch doesn't detect the phone.
try deleting all the android wear app data and cache, and the bluetooth pairing for the watch, then factory reset the watch and try again.

Strava crashes in Android Nougat

Hello,
My phone: Huawei Mate 8 Software: L29C432B560, and is rooted.
Strava is configured for not closing when screen is blocked (Settings/Battery). However, it is closed anytime by the operative system when I am recording a route.
Has anyone a solution for that issue?
Thanks in advance.

Strava is already configured "Allow". I'm sorry, I had forgotten to indicate it.
Today, I went on 65km bike tour with Strava engaged. All battery optimisations were off + Strava was "locked" in recent apps menu. Strava crashed with no explanation anywhere...
I'm using EMUI 5.0 on Huawei Mate 9.
This confirms other posts all over Internet which say: if you are into sport don't buy any Huawei
The last thing I've tried: Faster GPS locking on your rooted Android device.
http://www.techrepublic.com/article/faster-gps-locking-on-your-rooted-android-device/
I'm followed the steps, it really faster GPS locking, but it keeps crashing Strava in the middle of recording a route...
I feel desperate for this situation...
What more could I try?
I would also want to know. Having similar problems with my Honor 8...

Samsung Gear Sport remote connection and OnePlus

Hello all,
do you know whether the 'remote connection' is only for users that have Galaxy phones?
I bought a Samsung gear sport and I'm trying to remotely connect to my phone (via wifi), but with no success. I use OnePlus 3 with the latest official ROM (Oreo).
I have tried to connect from my watch remotely to my phone many times, but it is impossible. I know that the watch connects to the wifi and gets internet access, since I downloaded a watch face from the Galaxy app store with the watch connected only to the wifi.
I was convinced that I was doing something wrong, but when I did a reset to my watch and then connected it to a friend's Galaxy S8, the watch connected remotely with no problem.
This makes me think that it is something on the OnePlus ROM that prevents the watch to connect to my OnePlus 3 remotely?
has anyone (with a non-samsung phone) managed to successfully connect remotely via wifi?
I hope this function is not only for Galaxy users
I was having the same problem with my One Plus 3T, so I messaged Samsung and got this response.

I didn't really feel like that would do anything for me since I thought it sounded like they thought I was using a Samsung phone.
But I later tried turning on Bluetooth on my gear sport, then I tried pairing it with my One Plus 3T like I would any other Bluetooth device. To my surprise, it was able to find the watch. Afterwards, I then went into the Samsung Gear app and tried the setup again and this time it found the watch pretty much instantly.
I don't know if this will work for you but I can only hope
EDIT:
Also I'm using the latest open beta version of Oxygen OS.
By 'remote connection' do you mean the automatic connection between the watch and phone which shares notifications?
If so then yea, I have a Nexus 6p and it connects fine. As the above poster noted you do have to have the bluetooth on and pair it with the watch manually during the set up.

Huawei Watch 2 Sport not detected as a "heart rate monitor" in Huawei Health app

Huawei Watch 2 Sport not detected as a "heart rate monitor" in Huawei Health app
So I went running today and wanted to try out one of the provided plans which are available in Huawei Health app in the Exercise tab on the bottom, and then after selecting Trained at the top, to be specific the Fat Burning Run - MIIT programme, but it keeps saying that "A heart rate monitoring device is required for this course.". The point is, I have HW2 Sport connected to my phone at all times, synced both in Wear OS app, as well as in Huawei Wear and Huawei Health apps consecutively. Now that I took a look at it, my heart rate is actually being synced to the Health app, as it can be seen on it's Home page, but for some reason doesn't work with their provided workouts. Has anybody ran into similiar issue and perhaps knows a solution to this?
1st post be gentle please.
I have exactly the same issue. The annoying thing is that my wife has a band 2 which I got for £25 on black Friday and it works perfectly. I don't. Understand why Huawei apparently decided not to include the Watch 2 in its list of supported devices as it clearly would work... The fat burning training program on the watch itself (workout app) works perfectly, so why not connected to the phone...? Any ideas please?
