Hi,
I am having troubles with my Honor since I bought it. When I got the mobile and update the first time, 2 minutes out of the box, it got briked, bootloop.
I read a lot this forum. First I tried to put the B380. It worked but NTDKeys in compilation number, so I did the MM Rollback. Everything OK. I wait some days but I did not receive any ota. So, I installed FF and updated via Proxy, everything well until I upgraded to B389. I got another bootloop.
Well, I tried another time. I download from the Huawei UK the rollback now. I downgraded to MM. When I connected the Wi-Fi, I received the OTA to B360. Then B380, then B389 but **** the mobile again, another bootloop. I read more the forum, some people say they update the FRD from Hisuite and did not have any problem. I tried too, but another time bootloop beyond the B380.
The last thing I read about people with similar problems was that they update with the Service Full Repair B398, with dload method or flashing cust, system boot and recovery. But do you know what I get? Another bootloop.
The last thing I tried today is the last FULLOTA-PV I found on FF (b398), it was released 3 days ago. Flashed the firm and the regional update but bootloop. I don't know what to do. I want update my Honor but I don't know how. If anybody has any idea, it will be appreciate.
Thanks.
PD: The mobile phone was AL10 but the seller rebrand to European, L19C432. If I check right now the firmware from Fastboot, it is L19C432B398.
with that FullOTA-PV rom, i highly recommend you just install TWRP and flash the two zips this way. the PV versions of OTAs are flashable with TWRP, so no need for using stock recovery or redlotus.

I already did this but there is no change, (with TWRP and dload, first dload and when I saw it was not workirg with TWRP). I have MM another time because it is the only way I found to have a mobile and not a brick,

i've had success with this after being stuck on b360 on my FRD-L09 (i swapped from the L04 to the L09 via rebrand)

I'm doing something wrong or my mobile likes to **** me...
I flashed the last FullOTA-MF with the custom recovery and redlotus but it had the same behaviour. Just after upgrade from hisuite, the mobile takes one long boot (blue honor screen for ~5 minuts) then it rebooted and started the bootloop until it enters to eRecovery.
Any more ideas? My last backup is with B380 and I'm be able to work with this but I cannot upgrade :S

Hay Guys,
There are many many people with Huawei Honor 6x BLN-L21C185, the one which is released in the middle east region and may the same in the European countries too. But the number starting with C and after the L21 is very much crucial in Huawei type of devices, because I've tried three to four rollback packages available for BLN-L21, to go back to MM and got failed in the middle. With the same error every time.
May you guys out there have experienced or seen such rollback package for this specific version?
OR can you guys share what to do if there is no option to rollback at all.

Well, I don't know exactly because after B131 I have never used official OTA to update or simply official OTA didn't work bcz I've used FF to flash B342 (the beta version) of Nougat without registering for beta version. So, FF has been my updater app, indeed it was available in the settings menu but it didn't work bring any OTA update for my device at all. But for last 7 months and some three updates my device's theme had no problem, it didn't had FM radio though.
But now after I have unlocked the bootloader and flashed twrp and rooted the device to check whether I could install LineageOS 14.1 or not, the theme is not working too. I failed to install LineageOS and flashed B360 recovery via fastboot and than flashed B360 ROM via dload method and official recovery.
The other time I flashed Magisk just to try, but failed again to flash LineageOS. And the same procedure to come back to official rom.
Moral is; I still don't have FM radio in my phone and the worst is its theme is not working too. Its official updater also doesn't work for OTAs, I have almost bricked my device once.
Can some guy give me a link to the official B360 or B361 for BLN-L21C185 which would have FM radio in and working theme? Because all the FF suggested roms have FM fix in the included other zip which i have flashed indeed but it does not solve the problems of theme now, and also can't bring FM radio.

Rooting back isn't a big issue man, my concern is the way we work on. Because this phone is my main day to day dude so I have to make it usable every minut.
By the way do you think there is a way out there to go back to a working B130 by having root access.
OR simply
If you could tell me how to ditch out required files from update.app, may be we would work a little harder on it. I have used the winrar but it couldn't ditch out files. I think if we would know what version of stock rom has FM app and we would flash it via adb fastboot, it might have done the job.
OR simply by pushing FM app in the current stock rom and than unrooting and unlookcking the bootloader, is it so easy that I am so excited?

Nope. We can go to b130 without root.
My suggestion for root was to flash the the radio apk manually to system to integrate it.
We have similar things when on 5X, system messaging app was missing in rom, we pushed it manually and had it working

So, let's get started on how to push the FM radio in the system to get it working, are gonna guide me step by step or we have a separate thread on such kind of things?
BTW how do we get the FM radio? Is it the same apk which is available in the "update_data_full_BLN-21_hw_meafnaf.zip" and we can get it in the data>hw_init>product>app>HwFMRadio or something else is gonna be done?

i have same proplem with my bll-l21c185
only way to get back fm radio app
install Firmware Finder app on your phone
go to Firmware Finder app and find your Firmware
on my phone bll-l21c185b361
donwnload via proxy the 3 Firmware file
and you have fm radio on your phone and other missed apps
I have been trying to revert to stock with no luck. What I want to do is install the latest update, but I can't because I had twrp installed. I flashed the original recovery. The problem is when I try to use eRecovery I get "Getting package info failed" error. when I try to download the b385 full update for the FRD-L04 I get a dead link. I was able to download the rollback package, but will I be able to get back to the latest version after I install the rollback package? when I try to use other update packages for my phone I get "Incompatibility with current version" error. Do I need to lock my bootloader in order to update? The good news is that my phone works fine, bad news is that I can't up date.

Thanks for the link, I just been to heck and back with this phone. first I uninstalled Magisk. After that my phone wouldn't boot, it would just hang on the blue screen after the initial boot screen. I tried to find a stock boot Image for my version. Once I installed that my phone would boot loop so I managed to get into fastboot and flash TWRP. Once in TWRP I restored my B360 backup and got my phone working again. Then I flashed the stock recovery. Tried to boot into the stock recovery but that wouldn't load. Some how I got it to install the rollback package and now i'm at version B300. Good news is I'm back to stock and can boot int the stock recovery. Time to see if I can update to the latest version.
Edit I think I might have a problem. It won't let me update also it shows my phone as "FRD-L04C900" not "FRD-L04C567" is there any way I can fix this?

I think you will have to restore you oeminfo partition backup through twrp.
On mr FRD-L09, I had to relock my bootloader, then get the rollback package and put the .app on my SD card and hard flash it, then do the same with the rom .app file. Thet got me back to stock marshamllow, and I just let all the updates run through until I'm now on the latest.
Stock is missing some bits, and has some irritations, but the camera is sooo much better than custom roms, and GPS works, as does Android Pay etc. I've not bothered rooting, AdGuard does the ad-blocking and the rest is liveable.
Well I think I'm my phone is screwed. I can't boot into recovery and when it boots it bootloops once and then it is stuck on the "your device is unlocked and can't be trusted. Fastboot still works fine I can lock and unlock the bootloader. I can flash Recovery and TWRP in Fastboot but neither one will boot. I think I might have flashed the wrong update or it happened when I flashed the rollback package. I want to try DC Phoenix but they won't let me buy credits because my PayPal account is unverified. I have downloaded the "Honor 8_Firmware_FRD-L04_Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1_C567B122_United States_Nonspecific" from the hihonor.com site. I extracted it and flashed the recovery, boot, and system image through fastboot. The phone still won't boot into recovery or boot into the OS. Is there a way to fix this or is it time for a new phone.
Thank you everybody for your help.
Ok my phone is fixed. What I did was buy 15 credits for DC Phoenix and flashed the "Honor 8_Firmware_FRD-L04_Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1_C567B122_United States_Nonspecific" package. When I rebooted my phone it automatically went into ERecovery and downloaded and installed the B162 update. I was able to fully boot after that It updated to B360 and then B388.
Thank you everybody for your help.

How did you flash the file you mentioned above? Did you put it on the SD card and used TWRP?
Also, what is so special about that file?
I have the L14 (64gb US version) and just about the same exact problem you describe.
If you have any extra steps that would help me recover mine that would be great.

I followed the instuctions for the honor 7. I would recommend finding the full update firmware for your phone. It took me a lot of googling to find it. Make sure it is the correct firmware, you need to match the numbers before the B-- for me it was (FRD-L04C567) and for you it would be (FRD-L14????) I hope this helps.

After you flash the firmware, you must format data with emui recovery, and it will boot up
After trying different methods, this one works
Download
1 .Honor 8_FRD-L04_Rollback_Package_from_Android7.0 to Android 6.0_C900B300
2. Honor_8_Firmware_FRD-L04_Android_6.0_EMUI-4.1_C567B122_United_States_Nonspecific
Put on dload (sd card) #1 after shutdown the phone and put on the folder dload (Sd card) #2. after reboot your phone starts with android 6.0
Try this

Ok so i had the exact problem, im not sure if this will help but what I did was flash my cust recovery system and boot through bootloader, I then put the dload folder on my sdcard with the update.app in it, from there I put my phone into download mode so hold all 3 buttons until it goes into download mode. Once there it will automatically install the update.app, and you should be good to go. If not than go to recovery mode do a factory reset and wipe the cache and see if that works.
Hi guys,
I am currently trying to figure out how to reinstall a clean version of the B385 for my FRD-L04. I have downloaded these two files from the Nougat Update for FRD-L04 Honor 8 (USA):
Full ROM – http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1585/g104/v83098/f1/full/update.zip
Data File – http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...FRD-L04_hw_usa/update_full_FRD-L04_hw_usa.zip
I have tried to flash them both from TWRP, but I always get the error: Updater process ended error 7
Can anyone please guide me through the process and let me know what I'm doing wrong?

The best way (if you don't want to unlock bootloader) is to flash a downgrade package first, then dload the Marshmallow update and finally your preferred Nougat update though Firmware Finder.

Unlock your bootloader and follow this guide:https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-flashing-unapproved-firmwares-t3668306/
Choose the B385 firmware or any newer firmware available for your region.
So I decided to finally reinstall the stock firmware in my Honor 8 FRD-L04 in B389, and this is where the nightmare began.
- I made a full backup with TWRP just in case and I decided I wanted to start from the earliest firmware possible available.
- I started unrooting my phone using the UnSU zip by Osmosis.
- Then I flash via bootloader the recovery and boot image of the firmware B360.
- I flashed the rollback package from the Huawei official site with the B122 firmware also available at the same place. I saved the rollback package in my root directory in the dload folder, and loaded it with the 3-button method. After this I wasn't able to boot my phone normally, I was stuck in a boot loop. I still continue with the next firmware, the B122, and it was successfully loaded (this also relocked my bootloader).
- It is important to say I clear many times the cache and wipe/erase data through stock recovery options, and also tried to erecover but I wans't able to connect to the WiFi. I guess something was missing (at this point I was already going crazy).
- I was still stucked at a boot loop after loading the B122, so I decided to unlock my bootloader and flash the twrp 3.1.1-1-frd.img
- From there I tried to wipe data and cache and system and everything, but I wasn't able because an error saying unable to mount always appeared.
- After rebooting, since I already had unlocked the bootloader, the initial message prompting: "press power to continue, press for 3 seconds for erecovery, etc..." appeared.
- I enter the erecovery options with the hope it will do something... and it did!!! I could connect this time through WiFi and the system asked to update the firmware and many other things it said at that moment. This was the first time I felt relieved through the night.
- The phone updated perfectly, it started at the firmware B122 and I kept updating it until I reached the B389.
- I unlocked the bootloader again and rooted the phone. And everything is running smooth as silk!
I know this is a very long story, but I just want to get it out there in case anyone is facing the same problem I just passed. Hope this helps someone and brings peace to them! =) Good luck!
I believe B385 is not functional with TWRP. Flash B360 and reboot to recovery. This should go to stock recovery, where you will have to do a factory reset. I got EMUI working, but it refuses to update to any newer version (it does show B380 but doesn't update). Also there should be updates after making that update. The updates did work for other people, so you may be able to have it working.

Hello guys,
long story short, I had the notification that a new update was released for my honor 8 FRD-L09C432 (B403, I was on B402), so, since I was rooted and with TWRP installed, I decided to unroot and install the original eRecovery.
Something went wrong and the system was damaged, so I flashed the B360 version first and after the B394. Now the phone is working really good but I can't install the new versions (B402 or 403). I tried:
flash the update from TWRP, not working
search the update from the dedicated option in the settings, no update found
tried to have it from the original eRecovery, error to find the info from the server.
tried also to update from the version B394 before unlock the bootloader, but it failed.
Am I missing something?
Use the get update through DNS thing in FF. It worked for me at least. Make sure the firmware is approved.

Hi Days Tech, could you please explain better what do you mean? Is there a link of some tut that I can follow?
Thanks!
Ok now I have the point, thanks for this tip!:good:
Flash TWRP.
use data.zip file and flash it via TWRP. (only download from FullOTA-MF PV file)
reboot and you are done. you will have updater in settings.
now you can flash the update.zip file via dload.
dlaod guide in my signature.
I have problem with my Honor8. Everything is original (never flashed a firmware). The phone ran out of battery and now it won't boot. When the honor logo starts spinning, it gets stuck immediately and reboots. I can get to eRecogery mode , options available: DL latest version&recovery (results in 'getting package info failed'), reboot and shutdown.
my friend if you have warranty give it back or wipe factory reset to see ifit boots

It seems to me that your phone updated by itself. If your phone is rebranded from a Chinese model to EU model, this issue happens. Right now, you need to download the right firmware for your phone and use the dload method, see if that works.
Hello,
I have the same problem: Honor 8 (with FRD-AL00 sticker), rebranded, updated from FRD-L19C636B360 to FRD-L19C636B380 - no boot - eRecovery not working
Tried the rollback UK firmware and now it's stuck on FRD-L19C900B300 still won't boot and I can't find a firmware to use with dload method. Every firmware I tried gives error after 5% progress. The bootloader is locked.
Does anyone have an ideea which firmware to try with dload method?
Thanks in advance.

Is it possible that official OTA update does the rebranding and bricks the phone I'll check the dload method. Does it need something to be unlocked? Also, is there a way to get full model number somehow so I know which fw to download? I know it starts with FRD-L09

In that case, flash twrp. Rebrand to Chinese model if you want the use HurUpdater to flash any firmware you want.

I cannot falsh twrp because the bootloader is locked. And now it's impossible to unlock for free.
